Decent store if you are looking for some clothing bargains. They do have some brand name shirts, but mostly off-brands -- but pretty decent stuff if you are on a budget. Nice place to walk around. Yesterday was my first time at the Mills. First, the bad: lighting was kinda poor in some areas, the store itself was just a bit confusing for a newbie to navigate, and there was an overpowering chemical smell coming from the home department- where I nonetheless found some cute discounted heels for only $1! Also, there weren't a ton of employees on the salesfloor. Now, the good: The employees I did find were very helpful and friendly. I was able to find the item I came in for: a black miniskirt to go with a few outfits for an upcoming overseas trip. I also found a bralette for only $6! The prices are amazing (like the $1 heels), and I saw a TON of cute stuff I'd come back to buy. I told my fiancé about it, and how there's lots of name brands like Nike and Adidas marked way down! We're definitely going to come back together to shop. The store kinda gave me a "thrill of the hunt" feel! You just never know what you're going to find. Now, a friend told me that some things she's bought from there have fallen apart, so maybe be mindful of your amazing deals, dear reader. The last review called this store "amazing." I'm not sure that's the right word. Odd? A wee bit...trashy? That being said, I did find two cute shirts here and spent only $11. The clothing is CHEAP, the price tags match the quality. You get what you pay for. But if you're just a little curious about Forman Mills, or maybe you need a few extra business casual items in your wardrobe, or maybe you need to clothe multiple children somewhat fashionably, or even if you need a little suit and tie for your toddler, by all means check it out! Most of the merchandise here is clothing (men, women, children) but there's also a small section of cologne/perfume (knock-offs of popular brands), handbags, belts, ties, and shoes. This is NOT TJ Maxx or Ross. I did not see that the brands and labels were comparable for either of those retailers. I did see a few items of Polo clothing in the kids section, which I should add was overrun with "Phat Farm" clothing. Who dresses kids (or even themselves) in something called "Phat Farm"? Overall though, the clothing labels are not recognizable brands. But again, you come here for a DEAL on FASHIONABLE clothing, nothing more. I'm warning you now, the customer service is awful - I basically got the impression that this was everyone's first job, and on top of that, they'd never met anyone who had a job, because the employees just did not know the basics of customer service (like saying "hello" when you get to the register, or walking over to the register when they see you waiting, or NOT screaming across the aisles about how they ran out of time getting their blonde braided weave done, so it's carelessly clipped half up like they ran out of time at the salon before they had to be at work). read more

If I could give a "0" star rating I would. We went to this store yesterday and the customer service is really poor to say the least. All the employee including the on duty manager were very rude and not helpful at all. They have items on clearance but it rang at a different price and when we tell them that is incorrect they look at the customer as if we are from mars. Their lackadaisical attitude comes off as if they are right and the customer is always wrong. We go back the next day and the same outfit rings up as the right price but the cashier that was with us day before starts laughing at us. This goes to show how unintelligent they really are. I go home and call the store and the manager starts with us on the phone and then hangs up on us. I will not ever go back to this store, just for the simple fact of their poor educated way they deal with customers. read more

I'm the first to admit, I was a tempted potential customer by what I saw on TV. The owner was on that CBS show - Undercover Boss. He was the most generous of any business owner/CEO I had seen before, and was curious to see what his business was all about. Needing to round out the last of an early Spring charity donation, my friend and I headed out to Villa Park to see Forman Mills. It is what it is. Nothing fancy, no tempting name brands to gasp over. Lots of families from all walks of life trying to fill their closets with needful things and some not so needful. It's pretty much bare bones as far as aesthetics, yet most every "dept" is neat & tidy. I don't think I saw a single item on the floor, which is odd at a discounter. There were surprisingly a lot of specific departments. Everything from accessories, babies, children's, juniors, women's, athletic wear, sleepwear, lingerie, shoes, and more. There's something for every member of the family and a small amount of housewares and miscellaneous. There's a lot of sale merchandise, marked down from all ready low prices. While much of what Forman Mills sells is equivalent to K-Mart and Target, there were some brands that are seen at TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Macy's, Kohl's, Ross, only with much lower price tags. For $2.99 there's decent umbrellas. Duck shoes were on sale for $5.00. There were cotton t-shirts for a buck each. The same cool glass water blue, red or purple pitcher for $1.99, was $3.99 at Ross For what my friend and I came for, appropriate work wear for women in a myriad of different sizes and ages, we hauled out 6 bags loaded with skirts, slacks, blouses, tees, dresses, jewelry, handbags, shoes, bras, socks, underwear, for $220.00! read more

This store is Amazing. The prices are better than a thrift store and the clothes are brand new. The employees are generally nice. I just can't get over how much I saved by going here. $3 tank tops and shoes for my son for $7.99. Definitely worth stopping in to snoop around. Lots of goodies to be found. read more

The quality of the clothes is very hit or miss at this store, and there are quite a few trashy questionable looking clothes, but if you take the time to look you can really find some cute everyday wear for cheap! I got myself some sports memorabilia outfits, a sweater, a tank, and a pair of jeans for maybe 25 bucks total. My favorite casual shirt of all time is from here and it's still in great condition for the year I have had it. The men's section had a lot more consistent quality than the women's section, the woman's section is good if you need something either very casual or you want to try out a new trend without spending too much money. read more

This store receives a -100 star rating for customer service!! Who even trained these people? My poor mother and I goes into this crap excuse of a store to do an exchange she brings in her items and explains to one of the workers "I would like to do an exchange can you tag these items so you know I brought them into the store, that way I can take my items back into the clothing section with me to make sure I get correct sizes and colors?" First he responded "no we are going to assume you are stealing, you need to leave the bag up here." Way to humiliate someone like that for no reason... He then changes his mind... then at customer service they say the same thing, they started questioning her on why she didn't leave the bag up front and how they are going to assume she is stealing... after 15 minutes of explaining why she took the bag into the store with her and trying to describe the man who ended up allowing her to do so, they finally hesitantly let her do the exchange...Okay what store in their right mind flat out says we are going to assume you're stealing... how rude!!! although i happen to like that i can always find something at cheap prices and okay quality, their selection is huge..shoes, clothes jewelry, car stuff, rugs for home, bathroom accessories & wall paintings, underwear, lingerie, cologne/perfume, coats &electronics BUT! i write this review because, their staff is ghetto, classless and rude.. they not only look at you with additude, eye rolling, staring, and frowning up.. majority of them are sassy from the gay male cashier to the rude black women who speak loudly about their boyfriends,parties, hair & after-work activities, gossip about other coworkers &worst of all (Customers!) i seen &heard it all..me &my fiance' were trying to figure out how one lady here had a bright Orange tacky Weave on top of her head working in the front (think BAPS, the movie) horrible..then one of our visits a young girl who was supposed to be unlocking the door for us to leave as they close, looked me up &down then called another girl coworker &said some things about me, they started giggling &whispering all the while making me &my fiance' uncomfortable im grown so this doesn't phase me much but was childish, maybe out of jealousy &did rub us wrong, yet a 3rd time i went, a girl &guy pushing around clothes to stock on shelves instead took interest in staring at me &once again gossiping while im at the fitting rooms, security was in front one of my visits rudely checking bags like someone is there to steal..&i overheard a latina woman who's kid was crying & having a tantrum being talked about as she was leaving so i will be glad when they make another location &they could use different type of workers instead of the "stereo-typical hood people they hire" read more
