I fell in love with a sparkling dream of a dress here. Unfortunately, it was $600 and more than I'm willing to spend right now, but wow, was it beautiful! However, don't let that price tag deter you from checking out redE - seems they have clothes to fit every budget. Sifting through the racks, I came across many beautifully-cut pieces. The boutique carries clothing by some fabulous designers, including Theory, Black Halo, Hale Bob and my favorite dress designer, Alice + Olivia (see above reference to $600 dress). The sales associate was friendly and helpful, though left me to my own devices when I said I was just browsing (read: oohing and ahhing over everything!). redE Boutique - Women's Clothing Near Me - Elmhurst, Illinois

I honestly think that my experience today was the absolute worst I have ever had. It actually stunned me. So- I work close by- and have purchased many many things from this store. All of the women there have been excellent- first rate. Sooo- I stop in today- as I usually do- and I noticed a woman I had never seen before. I noticed right off the bat that her energy was sharp toward me- and that's okay. I'm in sales- I understand that not everyone likes everyone. So- I see a sweater I like and decide to try it on. I hear her voice from behind the curtain-"I think you would be more suited to a "woman's cut " hmmmm. Now, understand none of this is solicited in any way. To which I follow with-"what does that mean?" And here's the best part- she says "you know - for women north of fifty". To which I swung the curtain open and asked - "what did you just say to me?" Because I needed to hear if hats what she actually said. Yes. She actually did say that. I don't think I need any follow up- because ,well- I guess being insulted just isn't my bag. I can go hang out on the west side if I need uneducated rude unsolicited advice. Thanks anyhow. read more

redE is not the first, or last, place I would choose to max out my credit cards. First, the employees aren't all that friendly. I did not feel welcome in here, since both ladies working in the boutique looked up when I walked in, and then quickly looked down without saying a word. Talk about a "Pretty Woman" moment. Second, let me be clear that I am NOT complaining about the fact that nothing fits me here. No, I'm complaining about what's in stock. Every item was more or less a sample size, everything I touched was either an XS or S. Not even a lone M or L. Third, the racks are sparse. Each rack had only a few items hanging. Nothing stood out to me at all. Last, it's horribly overpriced. Almost all of the clothing items are $100+. The jewelry, mostly costume jewelry, was nicer than Charming Charlie's, but the black beaded bracelet I picked up was not worth anywhere NEAR the $88 price tag. Even if you're a rich lady of Elmhurst, I'd recommend you shop elsewhere. read more

You know how the Barenaked Ladies say it..."If I had a million dollars..." Well, if I did, I'd be spending a big chunk of change at redE as it's filled with gorgeous dresses, pants, blouses, accessories and more from varied brands. Some of these brands are fairly unfamiliar to me, which is even more appealing in my book. These are special clothes and showcase a "special" price tag in return. Yes, the niche is impressive as is the friendly customer service I experienced. Even though I wasn't in the market for a $500 (stunning) beaded shift, I was more than welcome to look around and pet the wares. Who doesn't want to pet some pretty clothing? I found my new favorite boutique. Such a nice feeling...now I can get on with my life. I work in a professional environment where I have to dress conservatively, despite my tantrums. If I must wear dress pants and button-down blouses, can I at least have something not so...blousey? Yes, you can have it all. I'd describe this place as kind of like Akira grown up. The clothes are from great Italian designers, with great cuts and patterns. Everything seems well-made. Very stylish, but you can sneak them into the office and look cool & hip, yet fly stealthily under the Talbot's radar. Good casual outfitter too. Beautiful jeans, and they hem them onsite. They'll even hem jeans you didn't purchase there for $10! The men's clothes look pretty cool too, but I didn't have a man with me to model anything. And awesome service. In all my years of shopping, I've never seen such great service! I had a dress pinned right at closing and they were able to have it tailored and hand delivered to the city by 6pm the next day. I am by no means a big spender and these ladies really went above and beyond. Thank you!! read more

It's great that we are finally getting some hip and cool clothing stores here in the burbs. Red E is like those great urban boutiques with unique clothing you don't see everywhere. They have well made clothing for both men and women. And here's a heads up - they are opening another location just down the street (second street next to Starbucks) that will be just jeans and tees - I passed by today and they look like they are almost ready to open up; had some great stuff in the window! And there are two cool shops right next door on Second that also have great stuff (Camden and Bianca Rose). If you are near Elmhurst, make sure to stop and shop! read more

This is my new place to shop. I had heard about this boutique a few years ago but hadn't gotten around to checking it out. I shopped there last week, the owner is AWESOME! As previous reviewers said, they have a nice selection of clothing. Different things you don't see on everyone. It's a bit of a learning curve for me to go out of my comfort zone (I just turned 60), but I have a few pieces that I know I will enjoy. Check it out, you won't be sorry. read more

This place is beyond amazing! Not once, have I stepped foot in this boutique without falling in love with something. The staff is wonderful. From the moment you walk through the door. They are welcoming, smiling, and extremely helpful. I have to admit, I've left here with some items I wouldn't normally even try on, yet look amazing on me. The owner is amazing at finding me something I LOVE every visit! The selection is great, the clothes are very high quality, and if something is not in stock, they will gladly order it for you. Finally, a Urban clothing store in da burbs. I recently moved out of the city to the western suburbs and was going through shoppers with drawl. Then I discovered York Street in Elmhurst. Red E boutique in Elmhurst has clothes for both men and women. They carry some really stylish, well structured clothing lines that you can buy with the confidence of knowing you will not see 5 other people wearing the same outfit. Unique comes at a cost. I found an awesome cotton dress that was really $$$, but for the right occasion I would have paid it! They do have sales and if you are really into clothes, this is the place! They also have some beautiful handbags and other leather goods. They have another location on Second street that is more casual (Jeans and tees) and is equally as unique. read more

Love this store and can't say enough good things!! As a stay at home mom who has been rocking the athleisure look for several years (p.s. - I at least use my lulu gear to work out..not just get green tea frappuccinos at Starbucks) it is definitely time to break out of that shell and wear clothes again. This boutique is where to go to get this done! They have beautiful, some edgy, some staple clothes - ALL non-department store cookie cutter clothes for both men and women. You no longer have to go down to the city to find clothes like this. Kristin helped me to pick out several items that as a stay at home mom, I can easily pair with my wardrobe of leggings and jeans and look amazing. She picked out pieces that I would never even think of trying ... but once I did, it was love at first sight. The best part is the swing in the store that my 7 month old was thoroughly enjoying while I tried on the clothes. You get what you pay for, and at redE, you get top quality, unique designs at a price that is above a typical department store but substantially less than the couture section. I was looking for a dress for college and grad school graduation parties, a few bridal showers, a daytime wedding. Having found nothing anywhere in an area of around 26 miles in/around Chicago, the perfect silk dress that will span every occasion I can think of this Spring and Summer was a tad over $400. Not cheap, mind you, but not horrible, considering it will take me to loads of events and into the future. What I like about redE are the styles are new and different, yet with a characteristically classic spin. Nothing is truly outrageous that screams 2015 or a particular fad I'll cringe over later. Just a beautiful, well-made and perfectly fitted dress that will take me anywhere but the lab (where many silk dresses are inappropriate anyway) or an office setting. As for the staff, if going in for a purpose, communicating what you're interested in, the staff couldn't be any more helpful. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that some of the merchandise, especially the costume jewelry, is a bit overpriced - I think. If you have deep pockets, nothing at redE is a reach. I just don't yet have those kind of pockets. Until then, 4 stars for a happy customer! read more

This is the best boutique to find unique pieces that I have found in the Chicagoland area. redE carries designers from all over the world. The owner only buys limited sizes of each piece to maintain their uniqueness. Some of the pieces are pricey, but well worth it in the long run. The owner really knows her stuff and loves to help people like me expand their fashion parameters. I had a wonderful shopping experience and would recommend this place to all. read more

Had an hour to kill in Elmhurst, and thank god I stumbled into this fantastic shop! Some chic pieces in the window caught my eye, but the amazing store owner and salesgirl inside made my experience. They had such great taste and were so much fun to shop with- I felt like I was with my girlfriends instead of alone in a new suburb! The clothes and accessories here are truly gorgeous. Lots of high end, special pieces all in one little shop. I wish I lived closer- this store is fabulous! read more
