Beware. They have a very unreasonable return policy for the holidays. I shopped there on two occasions right before Christmas and bought several items each time. I brought back 2 items today (January 14th) and was told that all items had to be returned by January 10th. No exceptions. And what really shocked me was that they wouldn't even give store credit. For those of you reading the reviews of those leaving the 1-Star Bombs for customer service, just remember that there are two sides (at least) to every story. My guess is that the common denominator here is the shopper, not the store. My entire family has been coming here for close to 15 years. My daughter works here all summer and when she's home from school. I have never had anything but incredible customer service. I have never had trouble finding something fun for any one on my shopping list. And I've never had anyone not love what I gave them from the store. There are is an incredible array to choose from. The gals that work here are class act, and the giant selection of amazing clothing and goods is SO much fun! I live out of town and always stop in when I'm in town-- they have helped with returns from out of state, processed orders for me over the phone, and helped style and recommend some amazing pieces. Well, I agree with the others- what a waste of time. AWFUL customer service. You'd think these second rate dorky moms would want to be nice to customers, especially since they live in the area. They clearly don't work on commission. I was a potentially new customer but forget that. I even wrote to their customer service online and they didn't even have the decency to write back. This has *hands down* been my FAVORITE store to shop at for the past five years! They have the cutest outfits - whether it's a classic staple, fancy dress, denim (that lasts year after year), or gift for anyone ranging from a teen to my adorable grandpa - this store never fails me. For years I have driven 45 minutes to start each season for some amazing finds Idon't find online and I certainly don't find for the reasonable prices of other boutiques. They carry great brands, great quality, and the vibe is fun energy and down to earth. They are welcoming, very creatively helpful and friendly (not pestering help). I wish I had more positive things to say! I was ignored through the store- and it was clear why after a few looks through the racks. Even in brands that go up to an XXL or XL, they only stock up to a L. As a newly post-partum mom who's body has changed, I needed some cute clothes to make me feel like me again! I have been a loyal VC shopper and am ashamed to say that I never noticed their lack of sizing options until now. If I ever get back to my pre-baby bod, I STILL won't be shopping here as I feel it's ridiculous to only stock clothing in such limited sizes (especially when they're brother store, four sons, seems to carry a fuller size selection). such a disappointment-- and they're leaving money on the table! read more

Hands down the store provides poor customer service which is reflected in their refund policy. I'm sooooo conflicted on what to rate this place. The shop itself COULD NOT BE MORE ADORABLE!! The staff, however, COULD NOT BE MORE TERRIBLE. I gave up going to Anthropologie for Lent, but I ended up here at Vintage Charm a few days ago while I was in the area and I'm feeling a tad guilty because it's almost as if I went to Anthropologie (think candles, soaps, unique clothing pieces, handbags, and cute knick knacks). ...Oh well the feeling will pass. Anyway, I knew my wallet was doomed the moment I stepped into Vintage Charm - just the name Vintage Charm already had me hooked. Thankfully, I didn't spend too much though I know I easily could have, especially since I went in here on a nice sunny day. Warm weather can really drain a woman's wallet! But I knew it was meant to be when I scored the last long flowy skirt (made in Italy ok!) in my size. So if you're looking for a nice & unique gift for kids, your mother, girlfriend, etc., this is a good place, but of course don't leave here without buying something for yourself! I will definitely be back at some point when I'm in the area again. Their return policy is full refund with receipt after 10 days. I think after 30 days it's only store credit. read more

I learned of this store via Yelp and am always looking for unique gifts so I thought I would check it out. I was there on a Saturday, it wasn't too busy but there were a few people walking around. The store is cute, a lot of different things to choose from, clothes, jewelry, picture frames, winter accessories, books, etc.. Things were a bit pricey but that is to be expected in that kind of store. Since it was right after Christmas I think their stock may have been a little low so I'll probably go back in another month to see what new items have come in. The reason for my 3 star review is the lack of customer service. I walked in and was not greeted, there were a few people behind the sales desk just chatting amongst themselves. I was in the store for about 20 minutes and never once was acknowledged. It's not that big of an issue because I didn't need help with anything but it would have been nice to be greeted or asked if I needed assistance, especially since it was my first time in the store. I will definitely go back from time to time to see what new things they have gotten in and would recommend this store to friends and family. read more

This is a great little store in LaGrange that has lots of super cute unique things. In particular come here for : jewelry, purses, clothing, scarves, maybe candles. Great place to pick up a gift. The person who is the buyer here has great taste and buys things you can not get at other places. I know other reviewers think this is expensive, but compared to the city and other boutiques, it is not. Unfortunately, I have to agree about the service. The staff seemed totally caught up amongst themselves and even after we purchased something, they were talking to a "friend" that came in, didn't say thank you or even look at us as she handed the bag over. I miss working in downtown LaGrange and this is one reason why. It is on the pricey side but I always loved walking down to VC to stroll around the store and touch everything. The staff is always nice and I can always find something that I "have" to have. This is a nice place to buy a gift because they package your purchase so nicely for you that there is no need to wrap it! I also like that little lunch place next to it called Now Serving. The only draw back to VC are the hours....total banker's hours and they arent open on Sundays or even open late on Thursdays. So, if you have a free afternoon - go grab yourself a bite at Now Serving and then walk off your meal a bit at Vintage Charm! read more

I had passed by Vintage Charm a few times in the past and really never had an excuse to go in until I bought the Groupon. The store reminded my of Anthropologie-tons of gorgeous accessories, dresses, tops and housewares. Although prices are up there, it feels good to support a local business with such friendly employees. I love this shop. Each time I'm in town I stop by to see what great little accessories I can pick up. Its like an independent Anthropologie. However, the customer service is inconsistent. This last visit, the cashier just pushed the bag across the counter to me after I paid without a word or a glance my way, to continue talking to the girl standing next to her who was unpacking boxes. I found this store using Yelp because I love the adorable town of La Grange and I wanted to see what it had to offer shopping wise. As stated before, Vintage Charm is similar to Francesca's, but in my opinion, I think it's better. :-) When I first walked into that store I almost fainted from cuteness overload. Goodness gravy, there are so many things in there! I saw beautiful jewelry, handbags, and trinkets stuffed in every nook and cranny. And that's what made it fun for me because I found myself going to the same places in the store and finding something new each time. You'll most likely be in there for awhile. I have spent a little too much there, but all of my pieces are beautiful and I've gotten so many compliments. I also like the fact that there are so many unique things there. They even have furniture. So yes, I think this is a darling little store. I just hope I can find out more about shopping in La Grange. I love it there! Check this place out. read more

I love this place! They always have something fun if I'm looking for a gift, a weekend outfit or something casual for work. I come here when ever I feel like I need to jazz up my wardrobe. It's fun to have unique tank tops or going out stuff that none of my friends will have when I go out. I have a great story to share about the service too. I follow them on Instagram and say that they posted an outfit that was only sold in the La Grange store (I live near the Bucktown location). I commented asking if they had it at the Bucktown store too and they didn't, but they offered to have it transferred there the next day in the size I wanted! I thought this was great customer service and they went out of the way to make sure I didn't have to! The only reason I rated it a 4/5 was because the price can be a little off-putting. But, there usually are things I find that I can't live without and compromise what I would normally spend on a shirt. I also saw someone said the staff was terrible??? This store is so cute inside and has really adorable products. The location is great, I can walk to it from my house or stop by while waiting for a train. It is my go-to shop for gifts! Most things there are very trendy. However, some of the items are overpriced. I realize that the products are high end, but I've seen these things in other shops in the area for much less. (an example: a single [small] hair clip for $30. That's crazy!) The clothes they have there are usually priced pretty competitively, but the accessories are expensive. They also have too few changing rooms, I've had to wait a long time to get one in the past. The main reason that I am writing this, and the main reason I'm giving the store 2 stars is the service. This is a legitimate problem and I hope the management can read this and make necessary adjustments to protocol, because their service is really under par. No one in the entire store offered to help me or asked me what I was looking for, when I wanted a dressing room I was brushed off and ignored (twice!) before getting a room. Then, while checking out, I was again ignored for by the women behind the counter, they were downright rude to me! I almost put my stuff back and walked out. The snobby service ruined the entire experience for me. This is not the first time something like this has happened, but I hope it will be the last. read more
