This Dollar Tree was stocked up! I ran in here to grab some cards and gift wrapping and they had everything I needed. The card selection here is great. I love getting cards and giving them and Dollar Tree is a solid place to sock up. There were a ton of cards to choose from and the whole section was neatly organized. The price? You cannot beat it anywhere else. 2 for a $1 or even $1 a card is unheard of!!! Additionally, their gift wrapping section was also nicely organized. It's rare to find multiple of the same wrapping paper at the Dollar Tree by us but I found multiple of the same one here! I had to wrap a huge present so that was an awesome find. The ribbons, bags, and tissue paper were even stocked well with a bunch of different colors and types. Checking out, the associate was so warm and inviting. She asked me how I was right away and engaged in conversation the entire time. Overall, this is a good location to stop by. They were setting up all of their seasonal items and in general, had a ton to choose from here. read more

Normally this store is fine. This is for my experience last night. I walked in at 950p. The door and internet say they close at 10p. If they mean to close earlier, they should post as such. The associate immediately tells me they close at 10p. I said I know. (I had a quick thing to grab.) Then they announced the registers were closing at 9.55p At 953p her time, 9.52p by my watch I'm 1/2 way through store, looking for what I came for... and associate are talking about me then someone is tracking me down, and says I need to leave. This location is huge and well stocked. Nearly three times the size of the one closest to me. I usually pop in to browse and purchase random items, a box of envelopes, cheap packing tape that emits a nauseous toxic odor as you unravel it (not kidding about that). It's a store I grew up going to occasionally and it's a bargain. I stand in line with a handful of items once in a while. I am however usually in line with people with carts full of items, individuals who buy everything here, food, household essentials, cheaply made toys the kids beg for. Which is why I am extremely disappointed to see the price hike to $1.25 at this location and the one closest to me. It doesn't make too much of a difference to me with my handful of items but to the people who relay on purchasing so much from Dollar Trees, it's a dent to their wallets. I get this is a company looking to make a profit. But you have The 10 million dollar CEO who has the nerve to blame inflation. What about the inflation your customers have been facing. Their stagnant wages or living paycheck to paycheck probably attracted them to your stores and now your trying to take more money from their pockets for bigger profits and to appease stockholders. Inflation is a bullshit excuse. There's a sign outside explaining how the price increase will allow them to carry more items. Is your store physically expanding? No. Were your customers asking for a bigger selection of items? No. Even though you say you haven't changed your prices in some amount of years, very few people probably realize they've been getting less quality and quantity from your stores anyway. I bought a pack of Tic Tacs from Target the other day (60 servings apparently). Ran out and I happen to see them at the Dollar Tree and I get home and happen to throw it next to my empty Tic Tac box and realize it's slightly smaller. It's a smaller serving size (50 servings). Wtf, they probably do this with most of their items. That feeling that something is smaller isn't just in your head. It's not cause you got older and you're remembering the size as a kid. I understand most manufacturers do this, put more air into a bag of chips, shrink a bottle a little. But I'm sure most of the individuals who shop here assume it's a bargain and you're getting the same thing you would find at Mariano's or Jewel. They don't realize the quality here isn't on par. Even though the toothpaste they sell is Colgate, it could be a Colgate manufactured with lower standards. Isn't it enough that your company sells nothing but products made from exploited Chinese labor? But again, this is most companies so I can't fault them for that. If you take a look at their annual report, you'll actually see they made a profit of 1,341 million in their last year! They actually made more during the pandemic. Did they increase their worker wages? Hire someone to enforce a mask mandate to keep their employees and customers safe? The annual report touts the health and safety of their employees as a priority. Translation, we gave them some diluted hand sanitizer, cheap masks from china and set up small plastic barriers that don't actually do anything, especially when your customer isn't wearing a mask. The annual report also stressed the need to hire better employees and reduce turnover? How about paying high wages and giving employees great benefits. Set a standard. read more

This is located in a strip mall. It's a pretty big store and it gets really busy during the weekends. Yes everything here is a $1.00! They also started taking Manufacture coupons as well but remember NOT the ones that you print out from your printer but the ones that you get from your Sunday Newspapers. Remember, everything here is a $1.00 even their Sunday paper. I usually get 3 or 4 papers just for the coupons, it's a great deal! They sell a few name brand items here, sometimes I see organic stuff too, like canned soups! Buying holiday decorations here is also a good deal as well! They take credit cards and debt too! On May 21st 2020, I entered the Villa Park Dollar Location, feeling pretty defeated with my recent customer service situations for the morning and over 2020 shopping experience. I was on the hunt for 92 balloons to surprise my grandmother for her birthday on the 22nd. When waiting in line to ask if this was even possible, this woman named Ms. Patricia (ASM) greeted with a smile when I approached the register. I actually only asked if I could buy everything that was already blown up and if she could fill maybe 25 more. She agreed no problem along with the help of another employee Rachel. I was actually just going to try to go to every Dollar Tree in a 20-mile radius to find the rest of them. But with her making conversation with she learned what the balloons were for, and she would make all 92 happen for me for the next day!! My heart melted I almost started crying. I couldn't believe these ladies being so busy and I know they are because I'm there twice a week, would this happen. My amazing experience did not end with them. My balloons were supposed to be ready by 3pm the next day. But since I could only get maybe 30 balloons in the car at a time, I decided to go earlier around 11 to see if they were ready to start bringing the home. To my surprise had the joy of meeting your next all star Shawnetta (ASM)! This other woman took the time to make sure they rest of my balloons were completed way before 3pm. I can't thank these 3 women enough for making this memory happen is such a crazy time in the world! Give them a raise and recognition, they deserve it! Most of the times that I go to Dollar Tree it's for party supplies. I've bought plates, cute platters, punch bowls, cups, decorations, candy, utensils, etc. all for $1!! They have lots of cheap decorative items, knick-knacks, food containers, kitchen accessories, TONS of kids stuff and all for the low price of ONE DOLLAR ya'll. Oddly enough, I've found this degreaser for my stove called Orange Glow....for a dollar a bottle my stove is impeccably clean. They also have some brand names so that's a plus. I had no idea how hard it would be to find a funnel. You would think funnels would fall into the "basic kitchen equipment" purview, but looking at Target and the grocery store netted nothing. Nada. Only automotive funnels. Oh, but Dollar Tree has funnels. Black or white, 3 for $1. Yes, they are cheap plastic. No, I do not care, they served their purpose. It was quick and easy to find my filmsy plastic funnel and things have been appropriately funneled (like the start of home-brew beer, into the big glass brewer jug). I've severely underestimated the greatness of dollar stores. I've been to some crappy ones or ones that are all like "yeah we're a dollar (plus 4)." Dollar Tree is legit, yo. I liked the idea of giving my bridesmaids painted wine glasses as part of their gift. However, the ones I was seeing online were pricey, especially if I was going to give out 5. Then I realized how much cheaper it would be to DIY, even though I barely any time to do it. That's never stopped me, though! I went to the dollar store and saw some really thick wine glasses for a dollar! Huzzah! They were exactly what I needed. While I was here, I also picked up some post-its, since I'm always in low supply. They have everything here: toiletries, decorations, office supplies, birthday balloons, etc. I was able to check out with a debit card, which I feel is kinda a rarity at dollar stores, and the cashier wrapped my glasses all nice to prevent breakage. Got there 7 minutes later, took two sleeping babies out of the car just to be told by a manager that they actually do not have them and that "I can't just take it out of another customer's hands". I went into the store this afternoon to purchase some things, but when I got to the register my card wouldn't swipe on the pin pad. So I nicely asked the cashier if I could run and grab cash and then come back. Then she rudely asked me "well how long are you going to be?" I told her I would only be about 10 minutes and then I would come back to purchase my items with cash. I made sure I was quick to come back, grab my items and go. Shortly after grabbing my money, I got back in line but when I went up to the cashier and told her I was back to purchase my things she bluntly told me "I already put them away" and then dismissed from the checkout line. I wasn't even gone for long. This employee (women) was beyond rude, and I was very frustrated with my experience. So after getting out of the line, I went to try and re-select all my items. Yet half of the stuff I was intending to purchase was no longer there. I'm not sure if there was a misunderstanding from the employee helping me at the checkout, but her attitude and the way she dismissed me was absolutely disrespectful. I just wanted to pay for my items and leave. However, I did end up purchasing a few things but it wasn't what I originally intended to purchase and I didn't even spend half of what my original total was because my items were discarded and possibly bought by other customers in such a short period of time. I'm not sure what kind of managers are hiring staff that is rude, but this was such a hassle to even checkout. I've never had a problem at this particular location, yet the current staff is less then friendly or accommodating. PSA: don't forget your card and DO NOT ask this store to hold your items. It's a big store and I love it the only thing I hate is the fact that I went today and used the restroom and it was like I was in a jail restroom!!! A horrible nasty one!!! It's a dollar store, typical shit happens here, smelly homeless people come in, creepy smelly foreigners, teenagers stealing, screaming annoying kids. Not a bad Dollar Store. Compared to most others I've been to, this one's a bit more upscale. They have a quite a few items and the aisles are usually pretty clean and well organized. My only complaint is that sometimes the cashiers seem to move pretty slow so if there's a crowd of people in there, may take you a while to get checked out but it typically isn't that horrendous. read more

By far the best dollar store in the area. Nice and big with a ton of items with a lot of stock, not just 2 or 3 of a single item. As with most dollar stores, sometimes they only carry an item once in a great while, but I have seen USB cell phone chargers at this store for $1!!! That's insane! I buy all my 6 foot extension cords here (and I buy a lot) and the kids love it too. They have like 4 or 5 isles of toys. Mostly junk, but my daughter loves buying stuffed animals there, and it sure beats spending $5 in one of those crane machines.
