I was super excited when Daiso came to Bloomingdale because it's really close to me. I've been here a few times already. They always have a great selection of items, including home decor, stationary, hair accessories, pet toys, and so much more. If you love cutesy things, this is the spot. They also have a good selection of Japanese snacks, candy, and drinks. The prices are really fair. I bought three things for under $10.

The Bloomingdale location is a 2-fer where you get two stores in one location - Daiso and Standard Products. These are very popular Japanese stores, especially Daiso which have been on the West Coast for many years now. They offer home decor, kitchenware, beauty products, bags, accessories, Japanese-inspired snacks, stationery and more. In the cosmetics section, the prevalent brand is UR GLAM. You can find many unique things here, cute things and useful gadgets (especially for the kitchen). There is so much to see! This location is one of the bigger ones in IL. Prices ranges from $1.75 - $15.25. I like that they have the converted price right on the shelves on the Standard Products side. On the Daiso side, you have to look for the price in Yen and use the conversion chart to find the price. If there is no price in Yen on the package, then it is going to cost $1.75. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2025

This place has the cutest stuff, not to mention lots of practical storage solutions at reasonable prices. The selection is huge! I could have spent an hour browsing and plan to come back when I have the time. Also, they had cute small Christmas trees for anyone on a budget and/or tight on space. Visited on 11/22/25

Known as the largest Daiso in Chicagoland. It's pretty neat, gives me an Ikea-ish vibe. Lots of products. My only con is that there is the left section of the store with the displays and stuff, the way the stalls are arranged doesn't flow. The "chi" doesn't flow. When I shop at a store I have a systematic way to go through all the aisles. With this there is no natural flow, you sort of zig-zag and then maneuver around, can be confusing sometimes lol. Cashier is self-checkout with some personnel on the floor.

The rest of the shop is the usual Daiso suspects: stationery, housewares, party supplies, toys, snacks, and so forth.

There is an eclectic selection of goods being sold and is a nice place to browse, as long as you are not looking for anything specific. Upon walking in, you see tons off different boutiques sectioned off into different areas. There are handcrafted crafts and gifts from all different vendors, and no matter who you are, you're bound to find something you like, including candles, clothes, sports, food, jewelry, home decor, etc. Prices vary by product and vendor, so of course some vendors will be more expensive than others. Some even sell name-brands like Marc Jacobs. For the most part, I think prices were pretty fair! Not only were the products great, but so were the workers. One of the men who was stocking found out that I love penguins, so he was showing me penguin-themed items. He was nice, and we all kept laughing. Also, when we were checking out, both cashiers were extremely personable. One checked us out, and the other wrapped some of the more fragile items, which I appreciated. The cashier who checked us out absolutely loved us and had a great conversation with us about how we all had so much in common with her. When it comes to location, the building is within a strip mall, and they have tons of parking and other popular shops around. Overall, my friends and I all said we would for sure return to the store! Apparently, vendors normally update their booths every few weeks unless they're out of state, so we will definitely come back soon to see the new stock. Since it is Christmas time, the store was FULL of Christmas and holiday decor. I loved the atmosphere because of this! There were a few bare booths where no vendors were anymore, so it seems as though a couple of vendors left. *If you're an entrepreneur, I'd definitely look into a booth here!*

I worked at this Goodwill location and have taken some time to reflect before writing this review…read more I truly hoped my experience would improve, because when I first started everyone seemed friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, that first impression did not match the reality of working there. Training was minimal, and I was expected to figure out most responsibilities on my own. Instead of receiving consistent guidance and support, I often had to rely on trial and error. As time went on, it became clear that management treated employees differently depending on who they liked. There were obvious favorites who were allowed to do very little work while others were expected to carry the workload without recognition or support. The biggest problem at this location is the management culture. It is, without question, the most toxic work environment I have ever experienced. Concerns brought to management were ignored, especially if they involved employees who were considered favorites. Rather than addressing problems fairly, management often appeared to dismiss complaints and protect certain individuals. This created a workplace where accountability was inconsistent and morale steadily declined. Professionalism was also lacking. It was common to hear managers gossiping about employees and customers instead of leading by example. Rather than creating a respectful and supportive workplace, the environment often felt negative and divisive. Several managers spent more time in the office on their phones or socializing than assisting employees on the sales floor. The lack of leadership left staff feeling unsupported and overwhelmed. I was recently terminated for reasons that I still do not fully understand. What makes that especially frustrating is that I witnessed other employees engage in the same behaviors I was accused of without facing any consequences. Whether intentional or not, the inconsistent enforcement of policies created the impression that disciplinary decisions depended more on personal relationships than on company standards. I also observed practices that concerned me as a customer. On multiple occasions, when merchandise did not have a price tag, prices appeared to be determined arbitrarily rather than according to a consistent pricing policy. That raises concerns about fairness and transparency. Perhaps the most disappointing part of my experience was watching so many good employees leave because of the work environment. There seemed to be a constant cycle of people quitting due to poor management, favoritism, lack of communication, and workplace drama. Instead of asking why employees were unhappy, management appeared to focus on protecting themselves and maintaining their inner circle. I was also deeply troubled by comments I heard were made regarding people in recovery from addiction. As someone in recovery myself, hearing that individuals with a history of addiction were viewed as "those kinds of people" was incredibly disheartening. Goodwill's mission is centered on providing opportunities and helping people overcome barriers to employment. Hearing attitudes that seemed inconsistent with those values was one of the most disappointing aspects of my experience. Goodwill promotes itself as an organization that changes lives and provides second chances. Unfortunately, this location did not reflect those values. Employees deserve to be treated with fairness, respect, and professionalism--not favoritism, gossip, intimidation, and inconsistent discipline. There were a few employees who genuinely cared about their coworkers and customers, and they are the only reason I would ever return to this location. They deserved much better leadership than they received. I sincerely hope corporate leadership and Human Resources take employee concerns seriously and evaluate the management at this location. Good employees are leaving, workplace morale is suffering, and unless meaningful changes are made, I believe the problems will continue. .

The staff is always helpful, very nice, very friendly. I'm kind of a curmudgeonly Shrek by nature, but almost every time I find myself engaging with whoever's helping me. Sign of a good team and good hiring; so that's appreciated. The first couple of times I went the persons helping me always commented on how "good" everything I got was; which seemed standard selling hype to me; but then they mentioned the THCv in an item I had bought. I had bought it for that reason but didn't say that. I had sort of assumed they mindlessly said "this is good" to everything - working in sales that's what you do! Nope, this person knew what I was getting; and it's been the same with every person since. The deals are almost always good. There are downtimes where they may not have the best deal on something; but for every 5 trips here I may have to go somewhere else once. It's been nice having a dispensary where it feels like I'm able to take advantage of their reward program; and that's based on the selection too which is massive. I almost always order ahead; but they've always been amenable if I've needed or wanted to make a change or addition. I'm a power buyer and a power user, I consume way too much for my own good most likely; and I am also very interested in saving as much money as possible. That's possible here, and it's nice. For the price? The variety? The service? 420/10.
