This Torrid is a little smaller than the ones I'm used to, but I have to give a shout out to the staff. I came here because my normal store didn't have my size in a jumpsuit I really liked. They called this one to have them hold it for me, and the staff here went the extra mile. I'm mad at myself because I already forgot her name, but I'm pretty sure it was Catherine or Caroline (I asked, because she looked like someone I went to school with). Anyway, she knew who I was as soon as I walked in the store. She had taken both jumpsuits they had in the pattern and size I wanted and held them for me so that I could choose which one I wanted, since patterned material varies slightly on each piece. I never would have thought about that myself but she was like "Yeah just look them over and decide which one you like how the pattern lays best, and we'll ring it up!" I was just really impressed with her caring enough to think about that. She was really nice and fun to talk to! As I was only in very briefly to get that held item, she made the entire experience really fantastic. The only reason I'm putting 4 stars instead of 5 is the size of the store. It is a bit cramped because of the size and amount of merchandise. Probably wouldn't be an issue for most people, but my mom often shops with me and uses a walker, and I don't think she could easily navigate the space. read more

I find the two comments already posted odd. I am not going to write a book. If you have curves and want some cute trendy clothes, go to Torrid. The associates have always been friendly to me. Never pushy. And suggest cute outfits I wouldn't even think about trying on. The manager reminded me of my loyalty rewards and I got an addition $30 off my purchase. The clothes are good quality too. It's all about customer service. It took me over 2 years to consider visiting this specific store location after my last visit ... but as the saying goes - somewhat - "time can heal all wounds". This store is great! I've never had any trouble with this location. In fact, they have always been extremely helpful and friendly. Especially Sam! I had called to see if they had a purse in stock - which they didn't - but she hunted down the purse at another location. Also she's helped me in store to find the perfect fit of jeans. I don't know what's going on with these crappy reviews but the Torrid In Bloomingdale is great! The ladies in the store were more than happy to help me with my returns, exchanges, and purchases. I had a huge order of clothing that I needed exchanged and found in different sizes. The three girls that were working that day were amazing! They helped me find certain things in the store, set up a room for me, and made sure I was taken care of. In addition, this was my first time at Torrid so we got some super awesome discounts since we were spending a lot on the clothing. The store is so cute and their clothing is amazing. Extra bonus, their fitting rooms have fans you can turn on because girl it gets hot when trying on clothes. Overall amazing experience at this Torrid and with the company in general! read more

This store is a recent addition to the shopping plaza in Bloomingdale off of Army Trail Road. I like that the location is closer to my area so I don't have to trek all the way out to Yorktown or Woodfield. The store is new and is clean and organized. However, my main complaint is that the management here is a little poor. The girls prioritize customers at the register rather than helping other people in the store. With two employees working the register, there's no one on the floor to help you or get you a fitting room. I have waited as much as 10 minutes to get a fitting room. read more

So I was just in the Store. Walked up to the counter with a stack of merchandise wanted to purchase. Asked for Clerk to check a different size .cleark said no. They do not check the Store for other sizes. I asked her to check the computer. Again the response was no they don't do that either. I explained that I wanted to purchase the stack of merchandise but only if she looked for the size. Shrugged her shoulders and went back to talking to the other Clerk. I agree with Lindsay this store has a major attitude problem. I was in the store a few days ago, wasn't greeted by the girls standing @ the counter. I walked around for a few min and after standing by the jeans a girl shouted that they were having a sale...ok yes I did notice it due to all the signs. So I walked around and gathered somethings. I didnt have my credit card. THEN MAJOR ATTITUDE! The immature staff rolled thier eyes because they had to look it up. They started throwing the clothes I wanted into a bag. Then I was told that my card was closed. Ummm no its not. When I asked them to call again she got all huffy puffy. I will avoid this store as much as possible. I will drive to the Schaumburg location where the staff is so awesome and very helpful. read more

I was really excited when this store opened, because it's so close to my house. I love Torrid's clothes, I love the fit of their jeans and their constant supply of vintage inspired dresses keeps me coming back. Unfortunately, the management at this location has always been sort of poor and has seemed to steadily decline with each trip to the store. I have had good experiences with some of the sales girls, a tall African American girl, for example, who was extremely helpful. I wish I knew her name so I could give props. However, on most of the occasions that I have shopped here, there has only been one manager on duty. One very confrontational, argumentative, control freak of a manager. I wish I could remember her name, but even if I did I don't have the mean streak to call her OUT by name. I'm sure she knows who she is. On several occasions, she was helpful; but would always end up disagreeing with me by the end of any given shopping experience at this location. Call it a personality conflict or what-have-you, you don't constantly argue with your customers about the fit of their clothes, make excuses for the poor selection or why I couldn't find my size, or even my personal opinions about the marketing the franchise has done! Just let it go! Furthermore, as I mentioned earlier, the management has declined due to either poor training or a blatant disregard for customer needs. During the times I've shopped this store at busy hours, the shop help is allocated to the register to ring the TWO people buying things, while other potential customers drift aimlessly in the store or pile up at the fitting room in a line. It seems as though they prioritize the "sure things", i.e. people who are ready to purchase, and they disregard the potential sales they could be cultivating by helping shoppers find their size or opening fitting rooms. My last trip into this shop perfectly illustrates my latter point. I had put a dress on hold the day prior and didn't make it into the store to pick it up until the following day. I walked into the shop with my boyfriend, wasn't greeted until I was standing at the counter, and waited. Despite my frequent trips into the shop (I was in there probably once a week or 3 times a month) The girls behind the counter barely recognized me, and when I reminded them that I had a dress on hold they sort of brushed me off to continue ringing their "sure thing" customers. The two girls ringing were the aforementioned argumentative manager, and a girl with black and colorful hair that had actually helped me and reserved the dress, two days prior. The girl with the colorful hair told me to look for the dress on the rack. When I didn't see it, she said she'd look in the back for it. So I sat down, and I waited with my boyfriend. And I waited. Finally, the argumentative control-freak manager finished her ringing and broke free of the cash wrap to roam the store for uncertain purposes. She busied herself with various folding and hanging and never once looked in my direction or asked if I needed help. I continued to patiently wait, thinking I'd be next, but after the other girl finished ringing she went on to the NEXT customer in line as opposed to employing the help of her manager/co-worker, or excusing herself to run her butt into the back room and fetch the dress for which I had now waited 15 minutes! I finally stood up and told my boyfriend we could go and that I didn't really need a $70 dollar dress. He happily agreed and as I walked out of the store the girl looked up and went "oh, sorry." On a side note -- totally unrelated to clothing, I injured myself in this store about 3 months ago. I gashed my bicep open on a jagged metal corner guard near the fitting rooms. I notified the above mentioned manager who gave me a band-aid but ultimately blew it off and continued to overlook the hazard. The funny thing is -- while I was in the fitting room on a later shopping excursion, my boyfriend, who does construction, noticed the hazardous edges and mentioned it to the manager, without even knowing I had injured myself on it! The manager become agitated and argumentative, defending their store with whatever excuses why they couldn't remove the hazard. Regardless of the reasons, I now have a two inch scar on my arm that'll take some time to heal. Torrid, this is a law-suit waiting to happen and although it won't come from me, I'm sure you've got plenty of sue-happy patrons. read more

This is usually my home store and I'm usually very pleased with the service. However, as I am typing this review I have been on hold for 12 minutes and I haven't even spoken to anyone to let them know why I am even calling. The associate picked up the phone and asked if I could hold and put the phone down and never came back. I was simply calling to see if they had a pair of jeans in stock and never had the chance to. This is very disappointing because this is not good customer service at all! read more

I'm not sure why the other two women had horrible experiences here but I just had to clear the air about this store. My sister and I visit this store quite often because we can't resist a good sale and I have never experienced rudeness from any of the staff. On the contrary the girls are all very friendly, funny. and personable. They have always helped us out when we needed it and I have never heard one rude comment come out of their mouths. The store itself is clean and very well organized. It is a small space but they use it effectively. The dressing rooms are well lit and large compared to the Torrid that used to be in Woodfield Mall. All in all this store has great selections, amazing staff, and some great sales. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a positive shopping experience. read more

I came here before Christmas 2017, and it was my first time at this location. The staff was somewhat nice. I was told all boots were 39$ so when I went to go purchase my items along with 2 pairs of boots, thinking wow this a great deal. At check out they rung up as 89$. The manager specifically told me all boots and booties were 39. Now, i work in customer service so I know, how this works. She even admitted to her mistake, those were the last pair in that particular size. I did not get them but I did get my other items. I love Torrid, don't get me wrong. I should have gotten those boots for the price she told me. Now after wards I went online and checked out the site because I was very interested in those boots, i still couldn't believe it she didnt credit me that. I was in that store for more than an hour. I didnt let it go. I winded up going to a different location and they had the boots not only were the boots on sale but they were cheaper than 39$. On clearance. So mind you. I just went back today to tell the manager I was so happy I found the boots and she literally ignored me as I was talking to her. I went up to her smiling and she kept her back toward me. That's the reason why i gave this particular store a 3 star because the customer service needs to improve. I purchased something else today. The receipt and my haute cash was literally just thrown in my bag and I was told bye. Very bad customer service on their part. As far as the store itself, it could use more organizing, because when I went to see some jewelry it was overly stocked (too many on one little rack) I would grab one and all of them would fall out, and I couldn't get the earrings I originally wanted. THE EARRINGS I DID PICK WERE 7$ BUT SHE RANG UP AND THEY WERE ON CLEARANCE, SHE EVEN SAID SHE DIDNT EVEN KNOW THAT. MAYBE THEY SHOULD HAVE A PERSON CHECK THEIR INVENTORY DAILY. SAME PROBLEM I HAD WITH THE BOOTS. VICE VERSA. IM NOT SURE IF I FEEL COMFORTABLE GOING BACK TO THIS STORE ONLY BECAUSE, THE WAY THEY TREAT ME AND THEIR ITEMS ARE MARKED UP THE WRONG WAY. Torrid has awesome clothes for plus sized women that are very fashionable. It's hard to find decent fashionable clothes when you are plus sized. Alot of the time plus sized women clothing is ugly and unshapely. I also liked how warm and helpful the employees were there. read more

I went into this store yesterday, 10/6/2016, with my mother and there were two women/girls working and neither one of them greeted us. We walked around the store for several minutes, with not even as much as a "hello". The first lady who was tall, was on the phone talking and laughing about what she wore to bed the night before, and never even made eye contact. She even turned her back towards me when I walked towards the boots which were by the cash register. The second girl, walked right past me and my mother, and never said a word. How are these women actual employees. My guess is the one on the phone was the manager or assistant manager, and the other one looked like she just didn't want to be there. Customer service has really gone down the drain. How do you not acknowledge customers?! The sad part is there were some boots that I really liked and was thinking of trying on and possibly buying but, after that experience in Torrid, in Bloomingdale, IL on Army Trail Road, I will not ever shop with them. I will make sure I tell everyone I know of the unprofessional behavior, and suggest they try another location before shopping at the one on Army trail Road. read more
