Went back again..... even worse badly cooked beef and cheese smell. The stuff here really is just junk and should be Secondhand-will.

I had a terrible and honestly humiliating experience at the Ross in Bloomingdale, IL on April 21,…read more2026 around 10:00 PM. I was standing in line waiting to check out, minding my own business with headphones on while one register was open and the customer ahead of me had a large purchase. Out of nowhere, an employee from across the store started yelling in my direction. At first I couldn't hear because of my earbuds, but when I took one out, I heard them yelling at me to "look in another f******* direction" and accusing me of staring at them. That accusation was completely false. I was not looking at this employee at all. I was simply waiting my turn. The way this was handled, loudly and publicly, was incredibly unprofessional and embarrassing. Other customers and the cashier started looking at me like I had done something wrong, which made the situation even worse. Based on how quickly I was singled out and accused without any interaction, I genuinely feel I was negatively stereotyped based on my appearance. There was no justification for that kind of assumption or treatment. I ended up putting my items down and leaving the store because of how uncomfortable and embarrassed I felt. I've shopped at Ross many times and have never experienced anything like this. This was unacceptable behavior from staff. Customers should not be publicly yelled at, accused, or made to feel like they've done something wrong when they haven't. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses the conduct of their employees.

I came here because my normal store didn't have my size in a jumpsuit I really liked. They called this one to have them hold it for me, and the staff here went the extra mile. I'm mad at myself because I already forgot her name, but I'm pretty sure it was Catherine or Caroline (I asked, because she looked like someone I went to school with). Anyway, she knew who I was as soon as I walked in the store. She had taken both jumpsuits they had in the pattern and size I wanted and held them for me so that I could choose which one I wanted, since patterned material varies slightly on each piece. I never would have thought about that myself but she was like "Yeah just look them over and decide which one you like how the pattern lays best, and we'll ring it up!" I was just really impressed with her caring enough to think about that. She was really nice and fun to talk to! As I was only in very briefly to get that held item, she made the entire experience really fantastic. The only reason I'm putting 4 stars instead of 5 is the size of the store. It is a bit cramped because of the size and amount of merchandise. Probably wouldn't be an issue for most people, but my mom often shops with me and uses a walker, and I don't think she could easily navigate the space.

I was unable to get 3 gift cards, 1 card for each child. I explained to the guy that each boy had 2 items and he could process the return and give me a gift card for each boy, but NO! "Our system doesn't work that way", he said. He could combine all 6 items for 1 card, so why not 2 on each card? Anyway, during our "discussion" a line developed, so I had him give me six cards and a pen so I could write the amount and each kid's name on it. As far as the store goes, it's your basic mall establishment with the stacks and the hangers and the loud music. The special for the day was hoodies and you had to find an employee with the key to unlock the dressing room. There were a few families shopping together here - mom, dad and the kids and that made the aisles a bit crowded. I don't see what the big deal is about the clothes here besides the name of course. I just won't go back because of the bad customer service. Math, it's an important skill people. Learn how to use it.

I walked in this store on a Friday night hoping I could score some comfy sweat pants on sale, and a few men - the only customers - were digging through sale bins. The merchandise was crowded together on racks, and there isn't much room to walk around. I made it all the way to the back of the store, where an employee was working near the sweat pants. I wasn't acknowledged and the employee didn't move so I could browse. So I looped around the store and left. Totally ignored.

I wondered why I liked shopping malls so much that I'm now managing a retail store at an outlet. By the way, H&M was not even available at my small-town, everyone-knew-each-other, rural South Carolina mall twelve (12) years ago. Nowadays, I absolutely hate the mall. Yes, I know "hate" is a strong word, but lingering at a mall doesn't help me relax anymore. Hubby was servicing their POS system at their Yorktown Center location, so I tagged along. I knew this is one of the newer H&M in Chicagoland. I could tell because the condition of the store was slightly more pristine in comparison to other locations in the city or in the suburbs. Although shopping at a mall is less pleasurable for me, I had to admit that H&M does have fashionable and cute stuff! A few Nordic-patterned sweaters and wraps were on sale, it was a bit tempting yet I had a decent self-control with buying clothes, jewelry, and accessories. Yes, it came a long way for me since the "rehab" I gave to myself a year ago as I was cleaning up and reorganizing my closet. I actually have found a few items that be considered "unisex" at their men's department. I usually spend a good amount of time browsing through men's as well. I don't mind if someone can treat me a $500 shopping spree at H&M...

Didn't realize till I got home they were 17$ for 3 underwear ha. Went straight back. Wasn't offered an apology but my error. Will be back.
