Twice Is Nice is a vintage/antique/resale shop where the proceeds benefit Outreach Community Center. Love the feel good part of that! The store is organized by size... and then type (short sleeve, long sleeve,etc)... and then by color. It's very easy to shop. The outside and inside are a bit beat up- they could really benefit from a nice coat of paint and updating/cleaning their windows. The gals are around and friendly. I highly recommend this thrift store. It might be on the smaller side but it is organized and is easy to navigate. The staff is amazing! They inspect all of the clothing searching for damage. I have been shopping here for years and have only purchased one item that had it a very non-obvious stain. One of my faves! The prices are extremely reasonable and the quality of clothing is higher end. Prophets go to battered women which is such a good cause. Definitely worth the visit! read more

They used to sell good clothes and things at a bargain. Now, they have drastically increased their prices and what they sell are very old and worn clothing, shoes, and things. They sell lots of junk and is a waste of time and money. read more

I usually like to support this place and used to recommend it based on the cause but today when I got a few items, my method of payment did not go through right away Let me tell you when you're using contactless payment, if there's anything within that IT system, (this is per IT!) like the signal is weak or my phone data is not strong, whatever the case may be, it might not take it the first time. so with insincere disapproval. They're like it's declined with a nasty little scowl on their face. I'm like well I'll just pay another way I'm not gonna mess with this. You know I wouldn't be here if I didn't have the money to pay for the stuff I just found it extremely offputting, and they didn't have a lot of selection, I don't really think I'll be frequenting this place nor recommending it anymore unfortunately and I hate to say that I know they support the outreach center but everyone deserves to be treated like a human being as well And by the way, the rest of my errands where I used my contactless payment went through seamlessly with no problem after this, so the problem was on their end not mine, and they've just lost a supporter over it read more

Came here in search of some cute jewelry. Unfortunately, I did not find the ring I was looking for nor any rings at all. The store was pretty organized and service is good here. I did find a souvenir cup that has drawings of peace, love, and a sun. Great find. I would definitely come back here if I were to visit Chicago again. There is a large parking lot outside so this is a very convenient location to shop at. They carry so much furniture. I wish the thrift stores near me had so much stuff! read more

WOW! A man that cooks,c leans, listens, brings home lots of money and loves cats? Thats "Twice is Nice"! Finally a thift store full of clothing that DOESN'T SMELL! The racks are sorted by size and gender and everything I looked at semed to be clean and in good repair. They hd nice displays of how the cothes could e wore together. Lots of well organizted books and a nice jewelry selection- particularly clip earrings. I was a little disappointed in the houseewares - nice but not quirky. read more

This is your typical small resale store, but, like the other reviewer mentioned, it doesn't smell!! The store recently changed locations into a bigger space two or three doors down from where it used to be. What's good: -Good prices that aren't jacked up to reflect the "thrift-store-shopping- became-cool-when-the-Olsen-twins-started-dressing-like-they- shopped-in-them" movement. -Awesome selection of cool and quirky home goods from the 50s and 60s, some still in their original packaging. I've seen hair curlers, fry cutters, waffle irons, tanning lamps, and "back massagers" all in their monochromatic, script font packaging from circa 1968. (gotta love the tanning lamp ad that says it gives you a healthy glow and to stick your kids in there for a few minutes a day!). -Two changing rooms to try on clothes -A large selection of fairly-priced books and cool and fun kitchen goods What's Not-So-Good -not such a great selection of women's clothing -stuff is jam-packed together in some areas Really though, the good does outweigh the bad, and shopping here is kinda like going through your eccentric auntie's attic. It's one of those stores that brings me a little piece of the past and a bygone era in which it was ok at put your kids under tanning lamps for that healthy glow while you set your hair in curlers so that your husband saw you fresh, clean, and pressed when he got home from a long, hard day at the office. :0) read more

Twice Is Nice is quite nice. When I first walked in the store, I was concerned that they may be overpriced. Well, if I was to be 100% honest - they probably are on a few things here and there. Thankfully, they had plenty of other items that seemed to be priced just right plus the money goes to a good cause, so I can definitely see myself visiting here again. This shop was very clean for a thrift store environment. Most areas were well organized and easy to look through. I encountered two staff people while I was there and both were really nice. Even the other customers were friendly. I'm always a fan of kindness. I surely did enjoy my visit here! Plus, I found the cutest little side table for the right price, so I left happy! read more

On a whim, I took a spin through Twice Is Nice today and bought a name-brand cardigan, two shirts for my son, and a Pyrex measuring cup for $3.50 total. I recently broke that exact same measuring cup and was thinking of paying full-price for a replacement, it's been bugging me so much to be without it. Close call! I hadn't gone in here for awhile and I just stopped in for an overdue visit. I got a skirt and 2 shirts for $7! All are great name brands and in fabuloust shape. As my visit many years before, the woman in charge was very helpful. I was asking some questions about purchases as well as donations. (They will take any season clothing). One of my absolute favorite resale shops in the area! This shop is always full of amazing finds at good prices. I can honestly say never leave here without buying a cart full of great things! The store is on the smaller side and very full, but well worth the tight-ish squeeze. Every employee is so friendly and always make you feel welcome. They even have helped me to my car a few times when I've bought larger items or just simply had a lot to carry. One of the greatest things about Twice is Nice is that they donate their profits to the Outreach Community Ministries. Unlike Goodwill who overprices and hoards profits out of greed, Twice is Nice keeps their prices reasonable and gives away the profits. I only ever give my personal donations to shops like them. You will always find a great range of old and new and a large variety of all types of things. Furniture, clothes, shoes, accessories, housewares, toys, tools, electronics, books, art/craft supplies, and jewelry. I have found new items and even a selection of vintage pieces as well. All for fair and affordable prices. They even have almost daily sales depending on what color 'price tag of the day' it is. Totally wonderful. The workers are warm and friendly. The things they sell are priced very accessibly and are in great condition. The place is clean and bright, with artful arrangements of things here and there that have clearly been done with love and care. They even put on music from the 1950's, 60's and 70's that give it a nostalgic atmosphere. And on top of all that, you know that your money is going to a good cause. Love to go there. I came here on our resale shopping spree and I bought so many awesome things! The staff are friendly and willing to help you out. It is spacious and well-lit and organized. I bought some things I had wanted for so long and had finally found. It does not smell musty or anything bad, it was a great shop and had even more things I wanted to buy but couldn't because I did not have much time left.
