Went shopping there today and was swindled out of $10 by the woman at the counter! Picked up a…read moresweet vintage sweater that was marked $10, put it up at the counter with some other things (so I could shop hands free) and kept wandering for a bit. After perusing a while longer I went to check out. Was told the total was $31 and some change..... I was so confused and asked how (the real price should have been $21 something) so she goes on to say "oh yeah the sweater is $20, that's $10 and half off and those are so and so and so and so". Well, that's odd - I thought.... But I wanted the sweater so I just paid to get out of there. (Paid cash like an idiot and didn't get a receipt ) Got to my car to check the price tag on the sweater and what do ya know?? She took it every other price tag was still intact on every other item I purchased (as I know some antique stores save the tags for the separate vendors to keep track) so now it's double Hinky!! I'm bummed I didn't go back in and ask to see the tag but what can I do now. Oh well, live and learn. Hang onto your items if you shop here otherwise you're liable to fall prey to the age old switcharoo!

It left me unsure if the final total was accurate - $95 or $115 makes a difference! I wish there was a better system for transparency. I adore the nostalgic, hands-on feel here and the amazing inventory, but the checkout experience might keep me from returning soon. There are tons of venders who have sections of items. Some can be pricey, but there are definitely deals to be found. In one afternoon, my kid was inspired to redecorate her whole bedroom with antiques and florals. We bought lamps and pictures, and decor for shelves. She was so happy, which made me so happy. I collect vintage Christmas elves from the 50's. I was so excited to find some. I usually find them at estate sales, so finding one in a shop was a bonus. When we rang it all up it came to $250. We walked out with a lot of stuff, so $250 was a great deal. Just remember they don't do returns or exchanges I can't believe I waited so long to show her this place. I visit a lot of thrift stores, even antique stores, and Deja Vu provides fairly priced treasures that would certainly still allow a reseller a profit if they wanted to flip an item.
