I've shopped at this Target many times before and always have a pleasant experience. However, this visit wasn't about shopping. We had a Tornado Warning in the area and my boyfriend and I were on our way home from Elmhurst(we live in St. Charles). We were thinking about driving through it, but then it got really bad. We parked at this Target and ran as fast as we could to the doors, getting soaked. Carts were rolling all over, the wind was blowing so strong. My boyfriend even lost his hat from the wind. We got the the door (it was locked for the safety of the people inside) and immediately somebody rushed to let us in. Once we got in, the Target management very quickly ushered everyone to Target's fire hall, an area where we could be safe. Target employees passed out water bottles, and we were there for about 15-20 minutes until the worst of storm had passed. My boyfriend and I weren't planning on going to Target today, but circumstance forced us to. I suffer from anxiety, and this storm scared me. I was so relieved that the Target employees helped us get inside, and get everyone safe during a scary time for me. All of the employees were so kind and had their stuff so together in a time that could have been so panicky. Worst Target in the area. Every time I go in there there's items not available. Try to get 2% Good and Gather organic milk, it's usually out. Try to use the self checkout in the evening. If you need a staff member to ok the purchase of cold medicine they're no where to be seen. Try going to the regular register and there's a long line because they only have 2 open. Target don't believe in taking care of there customers. My mom purchase a lamp there 5-15-25 I call cause one of the piece was broke. I put the lamp together for my mom. I call your Villa Park store to only hear that I have bring the hold lamp in just to replace one broken part. It's the same when I bring the damage lamp back you would damage it out. I tell my mom all the time to stop shopping there. I didn't like how your manager Alamno handle things hopefully after this my mom would stop shopping there. I have been to this Target a couple times and have always received the best customer service. Overall the store is clean, well-stocked and has very helpful and friendly employees. Unfortunately they keep discontinuing products I've purchased there for years. Lewis Healthy White bread and Nutro dog food are the most recent. They also struggle to keep their shelves adequately stocked. I can't remember how many times I've gone shopping only to come away empty handed. I have always gone to target fo affordable mens casual clothes. If they are going to cut tge size of the department in half to epand on th already significantly larger womens department, I don't have a reason to shop at target anymore. Today I went to pick up a new pair of shoes and a beard trinmer. Since they only had 5 pairs of ugly shoes in the mens section, I am taking my $120 to Walmart. 3 weeks ago I was at self checkout with my sister and two kids. The sales associate who was monitoring the self check out area (named Ethan) came by to assist me with my payment. As he was helping me I turned to my daughter and told her to sit down in the cart. After he was done he started walking away but stopped to tell my three year old that she should sit down. I ignored the comment at first but thought that it was very inappropriate for him to even tell MY child to sit down. It's none of his business. The real problem is that he came back again and told her "You better sit down or your mom won't love you anymore". WHO SAYS THAT TO A CHILD? She started to cry and he walked away laughing. He also came back to tell her "Your mom is going to take your lollipop away if you don't sit". How is that allowed? How does Target condone this type of behavior? I don't find any of that to be funny and it's extremely inappropriate for an employee to speak to any customer like that let alone a toddler!! I grabbed my bags and as I started leaving he laughed again and mumbled "sorry". My daughter was crying and upset after he said all of this to her. I packed up my car but went back inside to address this situation with a supervisor. I also followed up with corporate that evening. I had a few hours to kill before meeting up with someone after work, and else and what better place to spend it than at Target? The store was fairly clean and well organized. I've definitely seen much worse when it comes to their sales rack, but they did only have 3 sales racks in the women's clothing section. It was a pretty quiet Target, not too many customers on a Wednesday night, but there were still plenty of staff. The cashier (although looking back she might have been a supervisor or manager) recommended that I download the cartwheel app, she wasn't pushy about it and even allowed me to take the time to set it up while she was ringing me up (there was no one behind me). She showed me how to use it and I saved almost $6! I would come back just for that. Friendly service, not too packed, and they have a Starbucks! I'll definitely be back again. read more

Hey, remember how Target bathrooms used to be clean? They all had that sanitary, almost fruity smell that greeted your nose when you walked inside? That seems to be a trend of the past. I don't know if it's because they can't afford to keep them clean or if they just don't care anymore. Either way, it's disappointing. This is the third Target I've visited lately with gross bathrooms and this time I took it upon myself to tell the manager, like the sign on the door instructed me to do if I didn't find the condition satisfactory. I did. And she seemed put off by my complaint. "Okay, thanks," was all she said. Not, "I'm sorry, I'll take care of that right away." Not, "Oh, I'm so sorry for your inconvenience." So yeah. Knocked down a couple points for lousy customer service on top of the disgusting condition of the bathroom. I'm talking wet toilet paper everywhere, urine all over the seats and floor, and an overflowing urinal. AN OVERFLOWING URINAL, PEOPLE! I have pictures and I will post them. The worst part was that after our shopping was done about 45 minutes later, I peeked back inside to see if they'd cleaned it. They hadn't. Gross. -- *EDIT* - So I decided to share my thoughts with the customer service team on Target's website, and instead of a human, or an apology, I received a form letter that was almost as disgusting as the bathroom itself. It was completely impersonal, not at all target-ed (see what I did there?) to my experience, and offered no sincerity or apology whatsoever. They made this disappointing experience even worse. I just want to say that I am not really a big box shopper and I tend to stay away from big box stores --- except that this Target is close to home and I can get a lot of stuff there in one trip so I was sucked in... BUT --- I LOVE THE STAFF AT THIS STORE. I have always received good to great customer service and never have encountered a surly employee. Mostly, they are friendly, cheerful and if I didn't know better I think I would believe I was in a Trader Joe's store --- TJs is know for friendliness... Well done Target. I am a fan! read more

Came to this Target after visiting their Starbucks. This place is pretty bland. For the most part it's your normal Target store but the shelves and cleanliness is really unorganized and dirty. This is one of my local Target. It's on a stand alone property so there's plenty of parking in their private parking lot. This place is pretty cleaned and organized. You're able to find someone to help you if needed. The staff are friendly at the register as well as the Customer Service counter. My tips to you for Target, I use my reusable target bags (or bring in any bags of your own) to get $0.05 off (make sure they take that off at the register-they have to scan a bar code near their register) and also I use my Target debit card for 5% off my total. I wish I did this years ago. It's so worth it to save some extra cash including my printed coupons from the Target website along with my manufacturing coupons for additional savings on a sale item! And this week, I heard in the news that they are now price matching against online stores like Amazon.com. So if you want a big ticket item like a digital camera and you found a cheaper price on a website, tell them and they will look it up and honor the online price to you with no hassle! read more

Are they incompetent or are they crooks? Or both? Since the pandemic began my husband and I both started doing online order pickup. Both of us are essential workers and are regularly in contact with covid positive individuals. The online order pickup prevents us from going in the store and would also be convenient if we weren't constantly arriving home with parts of our order missing. It has been over year and we do this once or twice a month. I know retail workers are understaffed but this has happened to us literally every time. In the beginning, they gave us a gift card for our time and gas to go back up and pick up the rest of the order, now it's just a half @$$ed apology. They regularly skim $15-20 off each order and it's starting to get old. I would advise to avoid using this service from this target for sure. read more

5/2022 5* My first time here. Found the store clean and looking good as it should. Found what I needed at the right price, which is always helpful. And found the staff to be very helpful. There was a long line at the cashiers, so Antonio (the cart guy!) opened up a lane and took me right away. Wow! That was some super impressive customer service there. I won't forget it. I don't normally leave reviews but this was worth one. I was excited to see they opened an Ulta at this location since the nearest one to my house is about 30 minutes. When I walked into the section there are two Ulta at target employees standing in the corner laughing and having a conversation. Neither of them acknowledged me so I continued shopping. When it came to check out an item had a sale price of $20. It rang up for regular price. When I informed them both it was listed at $20 on the shelf she simply said to me "didn't you check the date? It's Sunday that's no longer a valid price". Considering when I got there they were chit chatting that price shouldn't have been on the shelf anymore. Not to mention they seemed bothered by the fact I was even trying to purchase something and interrupting their conversation. Needless to say I won't be back here. The biggest issue I have with this Target is they don't care about customer service. I've had numerous situations that involved rude service to a point where I reported it to corporate. No one even responded. Another issue I have with this target is half the shelves are empty if you come at the wrong time on Sunday. It pains me to lower the boom on what I thought was the Target store to end all Target stores. It's sad how one employee can do the place in, isn't it? But they can, and he did. No question: I found what I wanted, as always. The place was clean, as always. The stock was full, as always. Have you ever watched check out lines, and simply not wanted to venture into one particular line? Then, as it turns out, that is the one you are destined for. At a very busy time, with few slots open, I watched as my future check out person took care of one customer, as others did three. Was that my imagination? No. Granted, it is never easy dealing with the public. I will be the first to say I am a reasonable shopper, and a pretty nice person. But dang, please don't bag the bleach next to the bananas. And for goodness sake, please don't tell me I really don't want something double bagged. And whatever you do, never, and I mean never, ever fold a gift bag in half after I just spent 5 bucks on it and tell me it's just a bag. I have to hand it to the shift supervisor who sensed a problem after hearing my distant wail of 'if you wanna pay for it, you can roll it in a ball'. On behalf of Target, she was quick to apologize and offer Target bucks for future purchases. My hope is that she really did speak to this young man, setting him back on the road to Target customer nirvana. That would be really nice. read more

I used the Target store finder to locate this place after I had my facial at Amy's Salon. I misread the information and thought it was a Super Target which has lots of fresh produce and this place does not. I get this fruit bowl they have which is $18-20 and take it to all kinds of "bring your own dish" functions. Most of the time people are bringing crap to eat, so if I bring the fruit bowl, I know I'm getting at least one good thing to eat. They are only available at Super Targets. This store is set up like all the other ones, the pharmacy is on the far right had side of the store when you enter. The parking lot is HUGE and there is a stoplight nearby for easy entering and exiting the area. I just wish the store finder didn't say FRESH MARKET on it, because that made me think of FRESH PRODUCE! read more

Wow. I've lived minutes from here for 10 years. I've been Yelping for almost 5. Not once have I considered writing a review. What's the matter with me? So, if I did the check-in thingie that everyone else seems to be doing these days, you'd probably see something like "2,487 Check-Ins Here". Because I am seriously here all the darn time. A good portion of my paycheck ends up being spent at this location every week. I even have a favorite parking spot. And while I can't get all gushy about a Target (no stellar experiences to type of), they have what I want when I want it, usually cheaper than anywhere else. I've never had a bad experience here, and have even had a few humorous ones. Like the lady with a bad case of Tourette's the next aisle over. Now, I do not condone making fun of anyone with disabilities, but don't judge me. Girlspawn and I discreetly followed her around half of the store, giggling to ourselves and putting more things into our cart just to look inconspicous. I said don't judge me! Like the woman who started screaming at the cashier so loudly that I could hear it all the way in the back of the store. I learned the cashier's name was Janice because screaming lady screamed her name about 100 times before she was (hopefully) escorted out. I don't know what it was about, I purposely sought out cashier Janice when I went to check out, and Janice has checked me out over 100 times since. Nice lady, that Janice. This Target takes the cake on customer service. I visited 3 Target stores before 10 AM on a Sunday after locating an item that would be PERFECT for a project. Problem was, each Target only carried 2 of said item, and I needed a total of six. When I walked into the Villa Park Target, I had the item number and the previous 4 items from the Hillsdale and Melrose Park stores with me, asked 3 staff members, and they all looked confused. Even with all that information, the staff couldn't find my item.. right away. But they didn't give up! Turns out, it was SO NEW they hadn't yet unpacked it from boxes. With just a little sleuthing, they found my remaining 2 items and I was a happy camper. Also of note, they referred to me as "guest" as in "a guest at the front is searching for an item." Which was so much nicer than "customer" or "person." It's the little things that make a big difference (especially when you're running on just a few hours of sleep) and this made such a huge difference that I will go out of my way to visit THIS Target again over any other locations. read more

Very surprised that this store has not been reviewed yet! Of all the Targets I have visited, this is by far the cleanest and best maintained location. All the shelves are well-stocked and properly faced. The staff is courteous and helpful, and they always have enough registers open. They recently renovated the east end of the the store to accommodate the grocery section that Target Corp. added to most of their locations last year. While they have some good deals in the new food section, the selection is pretty minimal (to be expected) and is just good for picking up some odds and ends that you may have forgotten. Overall, a handy store to have in our area instead of having to drive out to Oakbrook/Yorktown. read more

Then the upstart Bentonville based WalMart became the unquestioned leader and looking like no body would dethrone them. Along came Target with it's cool brands, good prices and clean and modern stores. Makes Walmart look outdated and "tattered around the edges" This North Avenue store has a Starbucks! I had my car worked on at the place next door so I decided to kill some time at one of the 'ol big boxes. I didn't have anything in mind to purchase on the way in, but I found a way to burn twenty bucks. The store was clean and organized. One associate asked me if I needed help in the electronics section but I needed none. When my car was done I wandered up to a register. After I completed my transaction I saw an advertisement for their "Red Card". I inquired and the debit card seemed like a pretty sweet deal so I signed up. Walking into Target is always a nice experience since we end up taking more things than intended. From snacks to electronics and almost every household need we come here often. The one thing I tweaky like us the price match since it prevents me from going to other stores. It's conveniently located and there is always plenty of parking to find. I love target but my cashier made this a terrible experience. His name was Dakota and he was not only unprofessional but also unpleasant and rude. I did an order separate from my moms and he was rude to both of us. He was chewing ice at the register and getting it everywhere. He was putting our fabric softener with bread and just throwing random things together. When my mom asked him not to put food with other things and he sighed and rolled his eyes. He seemed irritated that I was using my cartwheel app. I hope to never see him as my cashier again. read more

While you lack the groceries and amenities of the Glendale Heights store, you make up for it with your clothing and shoe sections, which are severely neglected at the Target closest to my home. Last year, I needed a swimsuit that flattered and did not break the bank, and you came through. This year, I sought a specific pair of shoes, and two other stores failed me, as I sorted in vain through their disorganized casual shoe section only to find the right style in Not My Size. But you, sweet Villa Park Target, you had the shoes I sought. In my size. And they fit perfectly. Me and my friend consistently shop here & walk around this target to kill time. Whether it's after school, or on the weekends when we decide to hang out. However, the security here thinks she's a super hero. Today me and my friend came here to buy some makeup. After going to the self checkout station (because the lines were extremely long, and only two lanes were open) we decided to go to the family bathroom together to apply the makeup. (Usually girls do this. It's normal.) While we walked there we noticed the security was literally spying on us walking to the bathroom. Usually she does this when we go to the bathroom together. Which is completely absurd. After applying the makeup we threw the packaging the makeup came in, in the garbage. We left the bathroom and headed toward Starbucks to buy a drink. After paying for the drink, we noticed the security came in the line right behind us, holding the packaging... after whispering something to an employee who works at target then laughing. We found this sorta odd because it was thrown out in the bathroom garbage. She then asked the baristas for a water, and began to conversate with them. As we sat down, we heard her obnoxiously say "I love catching people stealing little cheap makeup products" and laugh as she tapped the packages together, then scanned them for a price. She turned and looked at me and my friend, then quickly walked away. My friend and I decided to ask the baristas where she was going because we wanted to show her the receipt, and explained the situation. They looked at us like I was insane and said "oh well I don't know" probably because she just told them we stole makeup. At this point we were embarrassed, and pretty mad. We finally caught her standing by the family bathroom where we come out of taping a "Out of order" sign on the door. We confronted her about the situation, she checked the receipt and told us that she was not talking about us when she made the unprofessional comment to the baristas. She then said that we were not allowed to go to the family bathroom together because "we are not family" and that usually people steal makeup and use it in the bathroom and that's why she went in after us to check the garbage. She was actually more focused on the fact we went into the family bathroom together. (And whenever we come here she watches us go to the bathroom and stands in the door way by the bathrooms. SUPER uncomfortable) Hmm. My friends mom was on the phone on speaker extremely aggravated because she was harassing us for about 15 minutes about makeup we did not even steal! She apologized sarcastically and my friends mom asked for her name, to speak to a manager about the situation and we moved along. I have anxiety, i'm only a teenager, and this was very uncomfortable. After a few minutes we talked to a manager, who was extremely sweet and understanding. She told me and my friend she was wrong because no, we don't have to be family to use the family bathroom together it's just a MORE THAN ONE person bathroom, apologized for the security's unprofessional behavior, and told us she will talk to Ally's manager and she hopes to see us in the store again soon. This situation was extremely humiliating. Overall, Ally the security needs to learn to do her job CORRECTLY... she's a very gossipy woman who does not even know how to do her job the right way. I honestly hope she doesn't falsely accuse anyone else who isn't stealing! Maybe focus on the people who are ACTUALLY stealing next time, Ally. read more

This Target is very clean and the clothes are neatly kept. I shop a lot in the infant/toddler area for my baby and there is never a mess. The staff is always friendly and no matter what aisle I am in, they always ask "can I help you to find something?". This is my go to for almost everything. They also have a Starbucks inside and that is so convenient when I just feel like having a latte or frapp on my way out. read more
