I had a wingback chair in a terrible state. They redid the chair and built a custom ottoman for me. They even made some matching throw pillows for me. Beautiful work with a very quick turnaround. Would definitely use them again! read more

We inherited a Victorian armchair and loveseat that were falling apart at the seams. The wood was in terrible shape, and had an unattractive dark finish. Donna was extremely kind and helpful throughout the process. She gave practical advice, and spent a long time looking through upholstery samples with us. We decided to completely strip the wood to reveal the natural wood grain, re-glued, and reupholstered both pieces. All the work was done in approx two weeks, and all correspondence was answered promptly. We are over the moon with the results. The colors are stunning, and great care was taken to line up the complex pattern of the upholstery with the tufting. Excellent service and excellent results. We will be back with future products. Highly recommend. read more

My husband's grandparents passed away some time ago, and we were given their old cedar chest. After cross-country travel, many decades of use, and some botched attempts to spruce it up, it was in terrible shape. Today, the refinished/repaired chest came back to us and it looks like it's brand new! I could not be happier with the results. Quick turnaround, too, and convenient pick up/drop off service! Thank you so much to the team! read more

I Purchased, a few items from Time Treasures 25+ years ago and still love them. I recently scheduled in-home furniture repair for my bedframe that was nibbled on significantly by a new puppy.. I am so happy with the results and you can not tell there was any damage whatsoever. I wish I would've reached out for this repair earlier. Highly recommend this business!!! read more

I was gifted a true mid-century modern dining table and four chairs from my grandmother and grandfather back in 2014. This was the set they purchased when they got married in 1953 from the Merchandise Mart here in Chicago. Beautiful set, and 70 years old now. Needless, to say, these are a true family heirloom so when it came time to do some repairs and restoration work on the chairs, I was extremely careful to find an expert who would carefully restore these and get them ready for decades of future use. I did not take this task lightly. I couldn't be more thrilled with the work Donna and her team did on my chairs. They look better than I can even remember them as a kid, and all the structural issues from 70 years of wear and tear have been resolved. They're truly ready for many more decades of daily use to come. The team even took the time and care to treat the wood and get them looking their best. I can't say enough good things about the level of service and kindness here. If you have a cherished piece of furniture, this is the place to place your trust. I already have a few more pieces I'll be bringing in soon! read more

Donna and her team restored both the bentwood arms and the very old upholstery on my Thonet/Aalto armchair. I am thrilled with the skill, care, and attention poured into stripping and refinishing the wood and restuffing and upholstering the seat. I could not have imagined a more beautiful outcome, and the whole experience was delightful. Donna is lovely, highly skilled, and dedicated to her customers. She spent a lot of time thinking through what I wanted the new version of the chair to look like and the whole team was exceptionally kind and helpful. I would not go anywhere else for furniture restoration! I am so grateful and excited to have this chair back in my home! read more

Please go here for ANY restoration you want! Donna is top notch and has some incredible ideas as well! We brought in an entire dining room set: dining table, leaves,6 chairs, a hutch and base, as well as a sideboard. The hutch and base had water stains as you will see in the photos. The table had a kind of film from old varnish, and the sideboard had some scuffs. I don't have pictures of the chairs just yet, but the rest of my pieces are finished and so I'm posting them immediately so everyone can see what a WONDERFUL job Donna and her crew do! We also picked up a coffee table that my husband loved the legs but I didn't like the top. Since it was laminate, there's really nothing Donna could do, but she suggested restoring the base and placing a marble slab on top. Well, what a lovely improvement! I forgot to take "before" photos of that, but our coffee table is beautiful! I can't recommend Donna enough!!! read more

They did a great job. We ordered 4 Italian 1950s chairs from Chairish, a vintage furniture reseller. After a month, the chairs started collapsing. A hidden gem! An owner and business that is small but has big values. Donna, the Owner is very personable and professional. She'll give you a fair assessment and will make solicited recommendations based on industry and sound judgment. The work is completed timely (I expected at least 4 wks to refinish (3) wood/rattan chairs that have much detail); the work was completed within 3 wks. With today's inflation rates, her price is fair. Lastly, her eye for detail is bar-none! She takes pride in her work (see the online products) and produces a beautiful specimen. Thank you Donna! read more

As a kid I would often snoop in my grandpa's bedroom which often included opening his dresser drawers to see what he had stored in there. I have this distinct tactile memory of what the drawer pulls felt like as I peered in each drawer to look at his socks, shirts, and keepsakes. When he died a year and a half ago I brought this dresser to live in my home. The original color was not my personal style but I wanted to keep the look and feel of my grandpa's room. So I worked with Donna at Time Treasures Restoration and Antiques to give it an updated look. I could not be happier and love it's place in our home even more now! They were reasonably priced and knew so much about the time period of this piece. I have some other family pieces I'll be bringing back to them in the coming year. read more

My dining room table was damaged after a contractor placed a can of solvent on the top. The contractor sent someone to my home to "repair" the damage and they made it even worse. I contacted Time Treasures based upon the good reviews and I was not disappointed. My table is absolutely beautiful now and I am thrilled with the results. They matched the finish to the chairs perfectly and went above and beyond by touching up some minor imperfections on the legs. I highly recommend them and would give them 10 stars if I could. We have an older dinning room set and it got damaged. We found Time Treasures on Yelp and reached out via messenger for a quote. Donna offered me a quote in a short amount of time with photos. The quality of the repair is amazing, reasonable prices and fast. I mentioned that we would like to reupholster the chairs but didn't want to invest because the kids would just ruin it. It took some trust to hand over my grandmother's beloved mid-century modern furniture for restoration - but on the recommendation of a friend I left them with Time Treasures. I'm very glad I did. The work is excellent. These pieces are about 60 years old, but now look new; the character of the wood shines through. Upholstery work is terrific - precise and true to the original form of the furniture. They even made me an extra cushion for my ottoman. Their prices were very reasonable. I'll be bringing them more furniture to restore. The highest compliment I can give them is that I think if my grandmother, who knew her furniture, saw the furniture now in my living room, she'd be very happy with the result. read more

I'm surprised to be the first reviewer for TTA since I found this place via a Yelp forum. But I'm also pleased to be able to pass along a recommendation because I am totally sold on Time Treasures. Originally, I contacted them about restoring two old cedar chests that had been severely damaged in a flood. One was my mother's hope chest, dating from the 1930s and one my grandmother's from the late 19th century. Anna stopped by to assess the damage and give me an estimate and I thought for what needed to be done, her price was eminently fair. When she picked up the chests I also asked her to fix a carved wooden shelf and a very old papier mache dog that had lost a couple of legs. I told her that whatever she could do to fix the dog was fine; I love him no matter what he looks like. Let me tell you, this woman is a genius! The chests, the shelf and especially the dog all look superb. She even constructed a brand new leg for my dog to replace the one that had been missing when we got him. (The others just needed reattaching and patching.) Her work is not only technically excellent, it's sensitive to the age of the piece. She isn't trying to make things look all shiny and new, just whole and right. She and her staff have an amazing feel for the pieces they do. In addition to restoration and reupholstering they also sell antiques, and their showroom is filled with such wonderful things that the last time I was there I could easily have spent thousands. Even if you don't have work to be done, you really should stop by and see what there is for sale. If you love marvelous and sometimes quirky antiques, this really is the place. read more

Can I give 10 stars?! I cannot begin to sing Donna's and her team's praises. I bought an antique campaign dresser set and as beautiful as it was, it needed some love. I chose Time Treasures based on their reviews, and as an avid Elle Decor reader, was impressed by their work featured in the magazine. Even so, I was a bit worried about sending my pieces. One dresser needed a lot more work than the others, and I worried they wouldn't match. After everything was done, I was AMAZED at their job. They look perfect. And most importantly, they look as though they were brought back to life, not like they completely redid them. Donna clearly has a wealth of knowledge about furniture, antiques, the importance of restoration and the beauty in bringing timeless pieces back to their original glory. You don't get on the cover of Elle Decor for nothing. If you have an antique that needs some love, a family heirloom you worry about, or just something you want made beautiful, this is your place. Pricing was more than reasonable and the process was a breeze. read more

I purchased the world's largest leather sectional only to discover at delivery that the back cushions were way, way too high. What I thought would be a sleek, chic sofa looked like a series of overstuffed high-backed recliners--all they needed was cup holders to complete the rec room look. A friend recommended Time Treasures. They came to my home with sample cushions and helped me select the right size. Less than two weeks later, Donna delivered the beautifully modified cushions. Back in June 2019, took a chair cushion to have foam insert replaced and had a great experience with competitive pricing, fast service and good quality. Would have given a 5 star rating, expect took a similar cushion to have foam insert replaced at the beginning of February and the price skyrocketed to $95. When my husband stated that we had a cushion redone for $45 back in June, Donna said, "You could have taken it somewhere else if you were going to complain." Then she took $5 off the price. I really don't think that the price of foam cushion went up by $50 but I could be wrong. read more

I recently inherited an antique pedal sewing machine that has been in my parent's basement. I know very little about antiques but found this place online and went there after reading the reviews. The two guys that worked there were the best, they got it out of my SUV, carried it into the shop and patiently walked me through the process. I had it restored to its original color. They did a fantastic job, it is just stunningly beautiful. They restored the wood and even spray painted the rusted iron pedal and casing. Time Treasures is a total treasure! Thrilled with the results and the experience. Highly recommend them and have already passed their info on to half a dozen friends. I had been waiting for years to recover/renew my great-great-grandmother's rocking chair, partly because I knew it would be several hundred dollars to do it right and because I was apprehensive about finding the right restoration company and the right fabric. With memories of sitting in this chair reaching back into my littlest childhood, I was anxious about the whole process. Donna was prompt, efficient and super helpful with getting me a quote, then guiding me through the fabric selection process. She quite rightly steered me away from fabrics that were more about the past generation than me and my home. (I brought printed snapshots of my living room when looking at fabric books in their shop.) Even when my first fabric pick turned out to be discontinued, she overnighted other samples to me and answered all my questions. FYI, my second pick was WAY better anyway! Once the fabric was selected, her team swiftly refinished the arms and legs and reupholstered this family favorite -- including the button tufting and brass nail heads trim -- in a stunning Ikat print. As they helped load the chair into my friend's van (yes, they have pickup/delivery service, but I'm frugal), one of the fellows beamed about how he had cleaned up and got the springs in perfect working order. Pride in their work... as well they should have! I love it!! Tons of compliments, even from far-away family members commenting on my Facebook brag. Now if I can just get the cats to like it less so I can actually sit in it... read more

Time Treasures repaired some antiques for me and they did a terrific and timely job.

I brought in my great grandparents' oak tea table. It had been refinished with polyurethane in the 1980s and the legs had come loose after several moves. Timeless Treasures repaired and refinished it so the lovely grain is now again visible after over 30 years of that polyurethane finish job. They used shellac and added a lacquer protective finish to the top. A week turn around time!! See my photographs. It is now a Christmas gift for our daughter's first apartment. Five generations of use, and now as beautiful as ever. I also brought in two counter stools which were reupholstered very nicely, with new padding added. See my photographs of these too. I will be back with more projects in the new year! read more
