I have officially had my Joybird couch for 1 year. It has been lived in and loved (for the most part). Things I love about my couch: - comfortable & spacious - beautiful color - very pet friendly (hides hair, easy to clean cat puke - iykyk) - easy to use pull out sleeper Things I don't love about my couch: - the cushions move WAY too much, specifically the chaise lounge cushion. The cushion sliding out has caused it to warp/bend (see photo). I have been adjusting the cushion DAILY to try to resolve the problem, but it persists.... - the two sections of the couch (the base with pull out couch & the chaise lounge) come apart DAILY and even when securely reattached, they do not stay together. Unsure if we just got a dud or if all of the couches do this. ^ these two problems drive me crazy. Because as comfortable and beautiful as my couch is, these two issues really make the couch look less put together. And for the price you pay, this shouldn't be the case. read more

You can design your own sofa arrangement and your own cloth. Fun store to see possibilities. I found the sofas to be too deep and you need pillows to sit and enjoy and have support for your back. I like the cloth samples that you could use like velvet because they're easier to clean. read more

Worst couch I have ever purchased. Fabric is so pilly and shabby looking after a short time of light use. Frame does not feel sturdy. I had such a great experience with Joybird that not only did I end up buying a couch on my first visit, I already went back and purchased a second couch! I came in about a 6 weeks ago for the first time just to look, not really wanting help. I was immediately greeted by Kevin, the assistant store manager and he was so friendly and helpful, without being pushy that I immediately started asking him lots of questions. I was moving into a new home and he looked at pictures of the space and my vintage rug and helped me pick the perfect couch for my space and lifestyle. He helped me with the material the color and the style, with a very keen eye for design and helped me build a beautiful living room space. My couch already came (a couple weeks early) and it's so beautiful and comfortable and the delivery was super professional. Kevin had been following up with me the entire time to make sure I had the very best experience. I had such a good experience that I came in again and splurged on another sleeper sofa for my den/guest room! Joybird is making profit from overpricing by double to triple their competitors for the exact same items, charging "restocking fees" on in-stock items, and overpriced shipping fees. I wanted to share my experience below with details so you don't waste your money shopping with this company. I purchased the Aggy Rug for $356 plus a $55 delivery fee through the joybird website- the rug arrived and unfortunately it just wasn't a good fit for our space. I go to place a return and was shocked to learn there is a 25% restocking fee on this item- not a custom item, a rug that is in stock and not produced by joybird. This exact rug is available in the size that I purchased on multiple other websites at the following prices- Home Depot $196.94. $0 in delivery fees, $0 in restocking fees. Wayfair $199.99. $0 in delivery fees, $0 in restocking fees. Bed, bath, and beyond $164.00 plus an additional 10% off coupon. $0 in delivery fees, $0 in restocking fees. With Joybird's first delivery fee of $55, the 25% restocking fee, and and an additional $55 return delivery fee - that brings the total amount that I paid for a rug I will return to $199. This is approximately 55.89% of the price of $356 (their original price is $548!), which is particularly outrageous compared to all of the other prices above for the exact same merchandise. I would advise that you shop elsewhere based on my experience- I escalated this matter to management and they refused to reverse any charges or work with me to provide a solution of any type. read more

BUYER BEWARE! Joybird? More like Hopeless Bird. I visited their showroom in Lincoln Park, and right from the start, the experience was a letdown. The sales associates seemed completely uninterested, glued to their phones, and barely acknowledged us. After some effort, I managed to get someone's attention to help pick out fabric and select a couch. We purchased in-store, and they informed us it would take two months to build and ship. But here's the real issue: Joybird doesn't handle deliveries themselves. Instead, they use Lazy Boy, and it was a disaster. The delivery crew couldn't maneuver the couch through our front door and refused to even attempt delivery through the back door, where there was a clear path. They just took the couch back. Now, Joybird has given me two bad options: hire my own movers to handle the delivery or accept only a 50% refund, further reduced by a "restocking fee." None of this was mentioned when we purchased in-store, and I only discovered it in a personal email that was automatically sent to spam. It's completely unfair--they have a brand new couch they can resell, yet they're holding my money. To make matters worse, all further communication is now over email with a 48-hour response time, leaving me waiting days just for a reply. If this is supposed to be the future of furniture shopping, they've missed the mark by miles. Save yourself the frustration and AVOID JOYBIRD AT ALL COSTS! read more

I really appreciate the customer service at this place. Rosalie was welcoming and did not pressure me. I felt very comfortable and not overwhelmed to purchase something right away. She was a balance of attention and providing space. There are also additional staff members around if needed, but I was very pleased with Rosalie. I was in the market for deep swivel chairs that would easily work with the style I had for my RH couch. I also wanted a very specific color and fabric which is hard to find given all the big names like RH, Pottery Barn, etc all carry the same color schemes all within variation of neutrals. Upon arriving l met Kevin Manalac, who was super helpful in redirecting my initial thoughts into other options. He had a variety of color and textured swatches and was able to steer me in a direction that would work with a dog and teenage boys. He was very attentive to my order details and follow ups. In Regards to Your Order J-553900. Possibly going to the actual store where you can see and feel the couch is better than ordering online. This couch is so uncomfortable and hard. It smelled bad as well. The armrests feel like outdoor furniture. They were a month late delivering and did not cancel a missed call. When I went to complain on their website, they said I did not have an order number. They also have a customer service line that will tell you anything and then ask you to review Joybird. Needed a sofa for our new apartment. Joybird has a great selection of fresh, modern furniture. Shout out to Stanley Lim -- he listened to what constraints I had (space, time for delivery, and some strong design opinions from my partner) and showed me several options that could work. I left with swatches, photos, and a promptly-sent shopping cart to make our decision. We decided on a brown leather Briar sofa. It looks great in our space and is extremely comfortable. The couch arrived earlier than promised, and the last-mile delivery logistics were extremely smooth. (Huge kudos for that - it's not usually true.) Only qualm - the leather does scratch easily. If you're looking for it to stay pristine-looking, this isn't your leather. But if you're up for a well-loved patina over time, I think this will be it. read more

We bought a nice couch in 2021 for 3k. It was good for about 1/2 year. The the cushions began to slide down constantly. Their is nothing holding them in place. But the most frustrating part is the long end peice. It stretched out and no longer sits flush with the couch. When I reached out to inform them about this I was instructed to "fluff" the couch since sometimes the contents migrate. This couch uses foam, it does not migrate. Nothing they can do. In my opinion do not waste your $$ at this place. The quality is terrible and not worth the $$$ or wait time for the product to arrive . One of the worst purchases my wife and I ever made. read more

We purchased a home recently, but never got any new furniture. I've been seeing a lot of ads for Joybird on Facebook and Instagram. Love their mid-century modern look and all of the different color fabrics they offer (some pet friendly as well). We went with a Korver Apartment Sectional in Milo French Blue for the living area and the Selby bed in Cordova Mineral for our bedroom. The Korver Sectional is amazingly comfortable and fits our space so well. We love that it matches our accent chairs and coffee table. It can easily fit 3-4 people comfortably and we love the color. As for our Selby bed, we wanted something with a simple design that included a headboard. This is everything and more! It fits our queen mattress perfectly without a box spring because of the platform. All of our selections was well crafted and amazing! I can't wait to shop Joybird again. read more

This review is for my in-store experience and customer service on the site. I had heard a lot about Joybird, but didn't want to buy furniture without looking and sitting on it. I was glad that there was a brick and mortar showroom in Chicago so we could see if they were a good fit for us. We were pleasantly surprised with Joybird! Richard helped us when we were finalizing our furniture for our house in February and then in March when we closed and finally pulled the trigger on the pieces. He walked us through several options and listened to us when we were discussing our likes/dislikes of comfort or look and feel with what was in the showroom. He was super helpful and we actually went with Joybird over other stores based on the customer service we received in-store. He followed up with us to make sure everything was what we wanted and was super communicative with emails. Even when we decided to add another piece from Joybird after our initial order, he followed up and sent me a ship confirmation of the coffee table so we were aware it shipped. We cannot recommend him enough!!! Their online customer service is great as well, if you are just looking about product information. I absolutely love Joybird, but especially the service that I got from Richard at the Chicago office. A few of my friends had Joybird couches and I wanted a modern, affordable, but comfortable couch so I started looking at Joybird. It can be scary ordering furniture without actually being able to see it, but Richard went above and beyond. I was looking for a couch with a high back and I couldn't decide between a few different models, Richard was so great he had one of his coworkers sit in a few of the different styles and he emailed me the photos so I could see how high the couches came up to their shoulders. Just an example of one of the many things Richard did to provide excellent customer service. So far so good Joybird! Summer 2021 I went to the Chicago showroom to see a ottoman in person that I was interested in ordering. While I was there I sat on a couch because it was beautiful and it turned out to be super comfortable. We were in the market for a sofa bed but I was told that unfortunately the couch I fell in love with did not have a leather option so I moved on. And then dealt with crazy lead times and delivery issues with another vendo lr on my other couch. Fast forward to summer 2022 and we now needed a couch. I brought up the Joybird sofa and took my partner to the store to see if he also liked. A year later the couch wasn't in the same spot so Richard helped us not only figure out which model I was talking about, but what fabric it was. We eventually upgraded to a larger version and Richard couldn't have made the process smoother. The couch was delivered a few days earlier than the estimated date (crazy in these times!) And the third party they contracted actually showed up, on time, on the original scheduled date (no third time's a charm fingers crossed situation like our other vendor sofa). Our sofa is tufted and within two weeks a button popped off. I was worried that I was a sucker and bought garbage, so contacted Joybird. The online request communication was super smooth and within a few days they sent an upholstery furniture doctor over who fixed the button and made sure others weren't loose. Very pleased with the professionalism so far and would solidly recommend (and have). read more

Ordered a sofa sectional in November 2020. Delivered in April 2021 in 2 mismatching pieces: One blue and one lime green. I figured because of Covid that waiting 5 months for a sofa was something that I'd have to deal with - but after waiting an additional month for them to track down the correct color (they said they would get back to me in 3-5 business days) with no response, I called to find out that they never initiated such a search and that they had to cancel the order and restart a new order. I didn't like the thought of half of a sofa sitting in my living room for another 5 months so I cancelled the order and asked for a refund. I was told that a delivery team would call me to pick up the sectional sofa. Instead, they showed up unannounced one morning and then asked me about the whereabouts of the other sectional piece, which they took back in April. I still have not received my refund even though they claimed I would have it within 10 business days. It's been nearly 20. Customer service almost never picks up. No managers are ever available over the phone and upon requesting one you, you will not get a return call - instead you will get an email. Communication has been awful - even negligent. While I'm sure that most people don't go through all this stress dealing with their company I assume that I'm not the only one. Hope you have better luck than I did - or maybe you don't want to leave these things to luck. I'm almost 6 months in and still waiting to have my $3000+ returned to me. Perhaps it's better to take your business to a place that's more trustworthy. read more

After seeing pictures of the couches online I finally decided to see them in person because I was interested in buying a couch. However when I first walked in, I wasn't greeted at all, and I noticed a group of sales clerks standing around the counter talking amongst themselves. As I walked around looking at the couches finally a woman came up to me and asked if there was anything I was looking for, I said "no" and she proceeded to go back to the others and continue talking. No follow-up, nothing! Boy what a poor impression that made on me at this Joybird store! BTW, I was the only one in the store. So as I was looking around their showroom I couldn't help but notice how dirty and worn out, not to mention uncomfortable the couches were. Another thing I didn't like about Joybirds couches is that they don't particularly seem all that well-made, they all looked cheap, the fabric seems kind of thin and it's almost as if they cut a lot of corners just to offer them at a reasonable price. What a difference between the ones I saw in-person and the pictures I saw online. Personally I think there's better furniture elsewhere...ones that aren't labeled luxurious. So Joybird is a no-go for me! read more
