This is THE cutest spot. Nomad is a cafe, shop, and co-working space that is thoughtfully curated. I ordered an iced cookie butter latte which I think was a specialty drink. This was so good! I was worried it would be a little too sweet but it was actually balanced really nicely. I loved browsing the retail space which had a little bit of everything -- accessories, homeware, journals/books, and even clothes. I ordered the gingerbread matcha. -Not sweet just the right amount of sweetness to it. - Gingerbread taste wasn't overpowering and the cookie made it a nice little touch. - Very friendly staff, ordering was simple/quick and turn around time for beverage was average wait time. Been here a couple times since moving to Chicago and it's one of my favorite spots to get a matcha, or a hot drink to get out of the cold. The coffee shop/gift shop is so cute. There is a lot of seating and I love browsing the gifts and trinkets while waiting for my drink. I usually get a matcha with oat milk and honey which is delicious. The matcha is always vibrant green and I can actually taste it (!!). It doesn't just end up tasting like sweetener or oat milk. Last time we came in my boyfriend got the hot chocolate (extra hot) and it was absolutely delicious. Yikes! $16 for some sort of steamer. Tasted like water. I have to pay rent so can't afford to visit here again. Very intrigued that they have only a single $ category and shows up when you search "cheap eats" on Yelp...I've lived in Chicago almost 10 years and have never bought a coffee even close to this price. Also once again it had no coffee in it LOL I made the mistake of picking up a little sweater to pass the time as I took more than 15 minutes for my steamer and all the clothing was in the $200 range. This is an aesthetic cafe. I went once when they opened and there was a line out the door. Inside is a shop that sells different goods. I went to try the matcha latte. You can tell it was high quality matcha. They make every drink to order and the staff were friendly. Everyone had a smile on their face. I ordered the Lavender Latte with a wellness add on of collagen and it had just the right amount of lavender; floral without being overpowering. My friend and I shared their roasted red pepper baguette which super flavorful. We also tried their focaccia, which was super delicious. The combination of creamy burrata, olives and a rich tomato basil pesto spread was very fresh and well balanced. The only downside? The wait time was pretty long and for such a big space, there's surprisingly limited seating so I wish they had more room for people to sit and enjoy their food. I think this is one of my favorite cafes that will be on my regular rotation! I almost hesitate to post this review because I want to keep it secret! I love the vibe in here, the products offered, the calm and quiet space to work, the mission, EVERYTHING! Their assortment of products is eclectic, and I always find several of interest. I recently purchased a rose-scented body oil that has made my self-care routine more luxurious and has made my skin look better! I never need to use my headphones (unless I am working on an online course), because their playlist is fire/awesome! The other customers are respectful and quiet, which is unusual. So I love that everyone is keeping the vibe of the space an enjoyable one as I have found it challenging to find a coffee shop with good coffee, enough seating, and low volume. There is a decent-sized conference room that you can rent, which is a nice option. Coffee is on the pricier side, but about the going rate for this neighborhood. They have interesting seasonal drinks that you have to try. I recently had their pumpkin pie latte (syrup made in-house) that I think is almost better than pumpkin spice lattes I've had at other coffee shops. Nomad is a coffee shop/store/co-working/study space. They even have a room you can reserve, just have to talk to staff. It's not bad, they have good options and their coffee is decent. It is definitely on the more expensive side. At one point I would have said it was overhyped from how much it showed up on social media, but now I would say it's expensive coffee but you're paying for the ambiance. Today we just stopped in to kill some time and ended up getting the Birthday Cake and Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie. Definitely overpriced, $4.75 per cookie. They heated them up, but not long enough as just the top was warm but the inside and bottom were cold, so that was a bummer. read more

My friend and I stopped by after bodyrok and we were in awe of how big this coffee / boutique store was! There is a whole conference like room for working or studying, lots of cute (a little overpriced) boutique items, and of course, the cafe. Even though the space is incredible, I feel like space is wasted on the large tables displaying the boutique items. Could benefit from having more tables since people were just standing around and leaning against the displays anyways. We both got the ube tiramisu hot and cold.. let me just start by saying wow $17 with tax and tip for a latte is crazyyyy.. is this California?! I don't even think California would charge this much! I wasn't sure what the tiramisu part of the drink was.. the lady finger? It was stale and not good at all. The drink itself tasted watered down and there was little to no essence of "ube" besides the faint lavender color. Not sure what I was expecting with the aesthetic drinks but for the price, we were not pleased. Finally had an opportunity to check out Nomad. New to the neighborhood and had walked by it a ton of times. It's a combo of a coffee place and shop. Pros: -clean -spacious -visually pleasing environment -plenty of outlets for power cords Cons: -very expensive (drink was $13 pre-tax and tip) -drink was lukewarm and tasted like any other matcha latte (this was the saddest part for me - sigh) -music being played repeats same playlist in less than an hour -lots of trial and error getting on WiFi Verdict: eh If you go, get a standard coffee drink and ask for it extra hot. Bring AirPods or headphones. Have a backup WiFi option (hotspot) if you intend to work there. read more
