I did request a quote on Yelp and when Hammer Appliance responded was reminded of the times they had saved me in the past. Next time I"ll just reach out to the directly! Jason offered to stop by at 8am on Monday morning to take a look. He walked in on the first day of camp for 3 kids so my house was pure chaos (sorry Jason!), but he got right to work and fixed the washer after identifying the issue was a string caught from one of my 15. year olds bikinis. It's always the kids who seem to break the applicances. They were very responsive, right on time and got the job done. 5 stars for that!

Nothing major, surface level scuffs that could be buffed out. Their pricing on some models is unique because you won't find that in big box stores. Many appliances were SS, fewer of either black or white. Pricing. For example an LG electric stove with air fryer tech for half the regular price is unheard of. That model easily sells for clear over $1200. I'm curious whether the original warranty is still valid or this shop offers extended warranties. You're wondering why I didn't get this info from a salesman? Me too. There was a person there but he was on the phone for the duration of my visit. I asked a few questions about appliances, sizes and what they have available. He was less than helpful and his body language gave me the impression he wasn't interested in selling today. Used appliance shops can be like this, but this was different. If he was more outgoing and provided details, I may have purchased an appliance on the spot. Pricing seemed too good to be true. Details matter though.. However small are needed. Delivery cost? Install cost? It's the delivery charges & installation costs that can be over the top in used appliance shops. They offer big brands and many were up to 50% off. I'll have to wait to see reviews and then circle back in the future.

This spring we went to purchase a tree for our yard. Found what we wanted for $800. We would prefer that professionals plant this tree. All good until: Tree cost: $800. Delivery and planting: $1200. So an $800 tree costs $2000 to have planted. Are you kidding me? 150% service charge to plant. That's like buying a $1000 big screen tv from Abt or Best Buy and paying $2500 total to have it installed. No rational person would do this. By comparison, we have purchased trees from other local nurseries and their planting fees are typically 50% of tree cost. So an $800 tree would cost an additional $400 to plant. Total cost: $1200. Who in their right mind would pay 150% of the cost of the item to have it "installed?" Do better, Lurvey. This is madness.
