Amazing service! I initially requested a quote by email and received a response very quickly. We scheduled a meeting and Edgar came to my home to show me the fabrics. I didn't find anything I like initially and Edgar brought more and recommended some that he thought I would like. He is absolutely right! He also replaced the cushions and made the chair super comfortable. I couldn't be happier. Thank you and would definitely use them again. As for price, I think they are fair. Fabric is very decent priced. After examining the chair, we decided it needed cushion replacement etc., so the labor cost doubled but still totally worth it imo! read more

Where do I start? Deko is AMAZING. I've had my eye on this Schumacher print for nearly a decade. I finally got the nerve to order the fabric and have two chairs upholstered. It was a smooth transaction from start to finish. They were quick to respond. Fast, fair quotes. The quality and craftsmanship is impeccable. The photos do not do the chairs justice. The pricing is very reasonable and the turnaround time was less than two weeks. I could not be happier with the final results. I would recommend Deko to everyone! Thank you read more

I had the most wonderful experience working with Edgar from Deko Professional Upholstery.Edgar created the custom upholstery for our new built-in dining nook, and the results were even better than we imagined! He was an absolute pleasure to work with -- knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. Edgar guided us in selecting the perfect fabrics and cushion sizes, and even created matching pillows to complete the look. We're so happy we found Edgar and can't recommend him highly enough for any upholstery project! read more

I collect Mid-Century Modern furniture. I've worked with many upholsterers over the past two decades and all pale in comparison to Edgar and his team at Deko. Attached are photographs of Knoll Saarinen Executive chairs that Edgar flawless reupholstered in a swanky houndstooth fabric. His eye for detail is remarkable. All the Knoll tags and markings are restored and intact. Attached is a Florence Knoll Two-Seat Sofa that he beautifully reupholstered in a Maharam wool fabric. Thank you for your remarkable workmanship all at a fair price. read more

I have to say that I am so happy with the reupholstering of my two Egg chairs by Deko Upholstery. The old rough fabric was replaced with beautiful, new quality fabric which now makes the chairs look even better than new. The stitching is absolutely perfect, and they matched the back flower patterns flawlessly. That's true craftsmanship. The owner was incredibly nice, always punctual, and the job was completed much faster than promised. That price was super competitive and fair. Simply excellent! I can't say enough good things about out Edgar and his team. Great quality work with very good value

My puppy ate a good size chunk off the arm/ frame of my West Elm sectional. So I ordered the fabric and started getting repair/ upholstery quotes. Deko was the second quote I got, and way more reasonable than the first. They came by to look at it in person, and then came back to pick up the section the next day. Had it returned to me in just over a week looking better than brand new. I'm so so happy. The work was so good that I'm now considering having all my cushions reupholstered as well. read more

I first used Deko to upholster a vintage chair and was pleased with the results. I decided to use them for an antique MCM Adrian Pearsall sofa that basically required rebuilding of the frame. It was costly, but understandable due to the project. What isn't understandable is the service I received. It took him way longer than quoted to actually finish the sofa, and upon delivery he said he wouldn't be able to take it down to the agreed upon location (basement) and suggested that me, my sister, and elderly mother do so. My sister refused and then he found help to take it down, with a mandatory tip to the movers, despite paying for delivery on my order. To get it downstairs they removed the sofa from the frame and reattached it downstairs. I'm not sure if this is what caused the issues or not, but since then I've been contacting Edgar for repair of my sofa. When he responds he promises to come by, but never does. Going on six months of this, I give up. I would do a chargeback if I could, as I'm going to have to pay someone else to fix his mistakes (pictured). He pushed me to allow him to restore the wood for an additional $300, so I said sure. The problem with that is that nothing was done. I can't recommend taking valuable projects here. read more

I inherited a beautiful midcentury modern dining set from my grandma last year, but the chairs were completely falling apart. Edgar took the frames and over the course of a month his team completely transformed them. I could not be more in love with the final product, and I know my grandma would be so happy to see the chairs our family sat in for 50+ years given new life. I got quotes from four other upholsterers and Deko's was the least expensive by far, and included pickup and delivery. When the fabric I chose was out of stock, Edgar drove back to my house and had me pick out a new one. Thank you Deko for giving me back a piece of my family history, I appreciate it more than you know. read more

I cannot say enough great things about Edgar and his team. After a sprinkler head burst in my condo, I decided to recover my chairs instead of buying new ones. Edgar and the team and Deko are absolutely AMAZING! I bought a very nice and expensive couch from West Elm and the bench cushion was very firm, not what I was expecting and NOT what I experienced in the store. I did some research and got 3 quotes. Deko was the most reasonable and provides house calls, which was very important to me since I don't have an SUV to transport the cushion to their store for an evaluation. Edgar came to my house, evaluated the cushion and provided a great price. He provided a few different options of materials and worked with me until I found one that I liked. I am VERY PICKY when it comes to comfort and Edgar and his team worked with me until I was completely comfortable and satisfied. Such great customer service! Edgar is super nice, very kind and great to work with! I HIGHLY recommend Edgar and Deko Professional Upholstery. Thank you so much Edgar and Deko! Can't wait to experience many years of enjoyment with my new couch cushion! I absolutely LOVE it!! PS - the very quick turnaround time also exceeded my expectations! read more

Deko did an excellent job recaneing a bench seat and making a bed skirt with the fabric I provided. I needed the seat of my kitchen banquette and a daybed reupholstered and Edgar promised to get back to me to schedule pick up which he never did. He is impossible to respond to texts to schedule the additional work. Very frustrating. Forget about phoning him because he doesn't answer the phone. Therefore I had to reach out to a more reliable company. It's unfortunate and seems as if he is not interested in my business even though I always paid him immediately when he delivered my pieces. Also if he didn't want the work he could have at least let me know instead of keeping me hanging. read more

Thanks Edgar and team for a fantastic job re-upholstering my ugly ottoman! The new medium brown cowhide leather looks beautiful and I cannot believe it is made from recycled leather. I just had Deko work their magic on some recliners I purchased on Craig's List. I had been looking everywhere for a recliner that I thought was attractive and comfortable. I knew the La-Z-Boy recliners were quite comfortable, but they're also quite expensive, especially if you want to get them in leather or any other designer type fabric (at least $1200 each). After looking for awhile, I found some recliners in the style I liked on CL and bought them. They were in pretty good shape, just some wear from the former owners' dogs. But, they were all wrong in terms of color. So, I called Deko. After shopping around for several estimates, I decided to chose Deko because Edgar assured me he would do an awesome job and he had one of the best quotes I had received. Deko didn't charge me any hidden costs or anything, and they did pick up and deliver the chairs free of charge (which is great because they are HEAVY). Edgar was true to his word; Deko obviously takes pride in their craftsmanship and it shows in the finished product. The recliners I have now are higher quality than ones I could have purchased brand new, but we much less money and are exactly what I want. I am a happy customer and will use Deko again... I am going to do a lot more furniture shopping on CL, I think! There is only one slight downside to Deko and that was that they took much longer than the time I was originally quoted. Edgar originally quoted me 3 weeks and it ended up taking 6. I was a little disappointed with that, but everyone else I talked to quoted me 6 weeks anyway, so I don't feel like I'm any worse off than I would have been had I used anyone else. Since I think the work was great, I can deal with that and it won't keep me away (I just know better for next time). read more

You hand the man a sofa bed and he hands me back a dream! I had a sofa bed in my office for about 4 years now. The stupid thing was literally falling apart on me. The materials were cheap and lint kept clinging on to the material regardless of how often I cleaned it. However the design of the sofa was exactly what I wanted so I didn't want to just dump it. I came upon Deko Upholstery and met with Edgar. Great guy. Very friendly and knowledgeable and best of all not pushy. Very patient. I explained my concerns and vision. He provided me with lots of options and determined the best option for me. The man has an eye for design. I got to admit, at first I didn't picture what he had in mind but I am glad I followed advise. I was also very impressed with their pricing. I gave him my budget and it ended up being half of that. Very honest. He took my sofa bed and returned a piece of art. Now my sofa is the focus point of my office, to the point where I will be redesigning to fit the sofa. Highly recommendable. I included pictured of my sofa for anyone who needs an upholstery god. read more

This review is about a year old, but better late than never. I contracted Deko to reupholster some dining chairs. I think Edgar had a lot on his plate at the time so getting a hold of him wasn't easy at first, but I eventually walked up to his store. We selected new fabrics and cemented a plan for the chairs then and there. I received the chairs about a month later, and final result couldn't have been better. I waited several weeks before writing this review because I wanted to give this business a chance but their customer service is horrible. Back on May 10 I called Deko to get a quote on how much it would be for them to reupholster my patio furniture. A man by the name of Edgar answered the phone and advised that I send him a email with what I wanted and he could provide a quote. A week went by and I still had not hear from him so I called back and refreshed his memory on who I was, what I was looking for, and advised him that I sent an email. To my dismay he never even looked at the email. While on the phone, he finally located my email and said that he would take a look at it and get back to me. Never heard from him. On June 8th, I sent a follow up email trying to get some feedback from my original email and he has yet to reply. It's been almost 2 months trying to get a simple quote from this establishment. I'm extremely disappointed with the lack of basic customer service skills at this place. I really wanted to give him a chance after looking at the positive reviews but clearly Deko/Edgar doesn't need my money or business. So I will take the hint and look elsewhere. read more

Yes, Deko appears to be a great resource for upholstery needs. And if you have a cheap piece of furniture or something you just need to be serviceable fast, it IS great. They are inexpensive and have a pretty quick turnaround. However, if you care at all about what is going beneath the surface, or attention to detail, you will want to look elsewhere. There is usually a good reason why the prices are so reasonable. When I dealt with Edgar a few years back, he did a few pieces for me. I asked for (and paid for) new interiors as well as the new upholstery. If you dont know what "new interiors" means, it means they are supposed to replace all foam and padding with new, and also tighten any springs or webbing while they are inside. When I got my items back the new fabric had simply been upholstered over the old material, nothing was tightened or replaced at all. Some of the piping was sewn incorrectly so it wasn't straight. An important change I wanted to the back of a sofa (to reduce the number of buttons on the back) had also been done incorrectly. When I complained they tried to tell me that to redo it - to the way I asked for it originally - would cost me additional money. I stopped using them after that. Seriously, pay a little bit more and have it done right the first time. You wont regret it! read more

Did a lot of research before going with Deko, their timeline worked for me, Edgar came out with fabric samples to my home and help me coordinate but in the end, I purchased my own fabric and they did a FANTASTIC job at the best price. Super friendly father/son business. I had Deko repair an expensive rocking chair that made a horrible clickity-clack sound due to wear and tear. Therefore, this review is actually on the repair of the hardware of my beautiful chair, not the cushions. For $50 bucks, it's good as new! The sound is completely gone. The only reason I don't give Deko 5 stars is because they took a long time to repair our chair. They didn't call me to notify me it was done either. I called them (twice in fact- first time I left a message and received no call back). If you are not in a hurry then they are a perfect solution for your furniture repairs. read more

GOOD TALK, BAD JOB. IRRESPONSIBLE. Edgar took my 1 year old couch to upholster. He came back to tell me it's better to remake one after he took my couch apart. He sold me and I placed an order to make not one but a set of 3 pieces. When it was delivered after long aggravating communication. That was nothing that I expected. Worst of all, my 1 year old couch is gone. Nothing to salvage. Then working real hard with Edgar for 1.5 years to pursue correction on my new couches. I finally settled with about 40% of correction. I ended up spent way too much money for this mess. I reported to BBB to file a complaint but I did not have enough documents because Edgar never gave me the official invoice. Everything was written here and there. Well!! If you people want to go through what I went through, good luck to you. read more
