This review is long overdue. Two years ago, I took in a living room chair cushion with an insert that was failing. Two days later, I picked it up. The insert is still as functional as the day I brought in home. The pricing was fair. I highly recommend this company. read more

Contacted the store for a couch cushion replacement after my cat peed on it. Was done in less than 24 hrs. Great value! Highly recommend

I reached out via Yelp and got a quote for restuffing my three leather couch cushions. It took a week or so for me to be able to bring them in and when I did, it was a Thursday and they told me the cushions would be done Tuesday because they had to order the foam and it wouldn't deliver until Monday. They must've found some on hand foam because a few hours later I got a text that they would be ready the following day before noon (roughly 24 hours later). Our cushions are salvaged and I don't have to buy a whole new couch! Highly recommend read more

I walked in unscheduled to see if they could reupholster a Le Corbusier pad. They had the perfect fabric right there. They turned it around in a day. They charged me only $121 (I didn't have exact change for the $125). Quick in; quick out. Parking nearby. Piece Looks great on the frame. Friendly. Why can't everything be this easy? Highly recommend. read more

We brought Al two of our couch cushions, one of which was pretty majorly damaged from our dogs. He got back to us with a quote quickly and when we brought the cushions in he said the turnaround would be 2-3 days, but he was done in a couple hours. He cautioned me that due to the size of the rip, there might be a visible seam where he did the repair but he was somehow able to fix it so it was absolutely imperceptible. Our couch looks fantastic! Service was quick and well-executed and the price was incredibly fair. I would definitely come back here for any future furniture repairs. read more

So quick to respond! Excellent service. Reasonable pricing. Picked up the ottoman & fabric from my home. Purchased stain to re-stain wood frame too. Had it completed & dropped back off at my home in three days! It's gorgeous. Perfectly tufted and reupholstered in a chenille Gucci fabric. 10 stars!! Highly recommend. I'll be looking for more things to send his way to recover for a fresh look! read more

These guys are amazing. One of the most humble and helpful guys that we've worked with. We went in with a glass table that was broken and he and his folks did so much work to try to get it fixed. In the end, we weren't able to but he was so helpful in trying multiple times and meeting with us outside of business hours to get it to be done. He was extremely reasonable with the service and was very good value. I would highly recommend anyone to work with them!!! Would work with them again. read more

The upshot: Great work, great price, wonderful people. I happened upon a beat up George Nelson steel frame chair from the fifties in someone's basement a few years ago. I wanted to restore it, but I was scared about A) Ruining the original quality, and B) Spending a huge amount of money. After I managed to find a good quality vintage fabric match, I finally took a leap of faith. At Jorge's they clearly understood the quality of furniture they were working with, even though it looked awful to start with. They were also kind and friendly, making it an absolute pleasure to work with them. No snooty North Shore attitude here! The restoration they did was extraordinary. Really extraordinary. Replaced the foam cushioning, expertly recreated the original piping, and left it with perfectly smooth fabric surfaces. They even restored the dingy walnut arm rests, unbidden. These are master craftsmen who should probably have charged me double for this quality of work. After doing such a delightful job, they even went out of their way to figure out how to load it into our little sedan when we went to pick it up. They make me want to find other things to reupholster just to work with them again! read more

Well, giving up on these guys. It has been seven months trying to work with these people. The latest: The father (Al) said that he would "personally" ensure that the chairs would be repaired. Multiple texts and phone calls elicited two phone messages (Al), stating that they would come to my my house to fix the chairs either 1/10 or 1/31 and to text preference. Did and asked for confirmation. Silence. Of note when I spoke with Alexander (son) about one week prior, as he was flipping through my texts and reciting parts of them, outright questioned whether I was certain that I had the furniture reupholsterd at their shop????!!! WTF??? read more

Slop job on my chair. Have to pay to get it redone somewhere else. I paid for an accent chair to be reupholstered. They made the cushion way too big for the chair and so it hangs off the chair and often slips off the chair because it is oversized. I don't trust taking it back and so I'm going to have to pay to have it done somewhere else. read more

We had a great experience using Jorge's Upholstery. We've had our Plycraft / Eames Lounger that needed to be reupholstered for years partially worried about the high cost to finish the job. Jorge's was not only recommended by other people but other upholsters they recommended places to pick well-priced fabrics and suggested materials and patterns that would work well. Within a week all of the pieces were finished beyond our expectations. Our chair looks great. The price was fantastic and the quality was well worth it. I wish we'd found them sooner. read more

I have an older ottoman that had seen its better days. I spent some time trying to find upholsterers near me with good reputations and who do nice work. I found what I was looking for with Upholstery by Jorge's. Alex got back to me very quickly, kept in touch with me throughout the process, and provided an excellent turn around time. We love our vintage clubs chairs so much we had to reupholster them. There is nothing on the market as nice. Jorge's is a family owned business. The customer service is excellent. The workmanship is excellent. I have hired other upholsterers before but there is no comparison to Jorge's. We have friends who also had their furniture done here. My boss is thinking doing his chairs with them also. Our fabric didn't come out too good in the photo but it's very dark grey tweed. The whole job turned out beautifully. read more

We haven't actually started the job they'll do for us, but the experience so far has been superb. The responded quickly and clearly to our initial inquiry. Talked us through (via Yelp messages) what they could do, the amount of upholstery fabric we would need, and details of pricing. I contacted Alex at Jorge's for some cleaning and hole repair for our leather sofa. It is an old sofa, but of excellent quality, so instead of replacing, we wanted to just have it fixed up. After the hole was repaired, within a week or so, it began to open up. I contacted Alex, and he had his best guy come and repair it...problem solved. After a bit of time longer, I started noticing more holes developing in the sofa. Again, this was a very old sofa and the wear and tear was just beginning to take its toll. Alex recommended just reupholstering the whole sofa as a better and more cost effective (in the long run) solution. We just got the sofa back today. It looks excellent. I am so happy we went this route and Alex and his team did a great job. Would be happy to use them again in the future. read more

I had two antique armchairs that needed to be completely redone (stripped, stained and upholstered) and I had spent an extraordinary amount of time, effort and money on finding the perfect fabric overseas for the chairs that I had shipped. Needless to say, I was anxious to find the right upholsterer, especially since I was not working with a designer. I had a recommendation but since the recommendation was very unresponsive, I went online, read reviews and ended up reaching out to Jorges. Alex was very responsive and the initial quote comparable. I had a very good feeling when he came to pick up the chairs and I was able to explain to him exactly what I was looking for as I had a very particular vision for the placement of the fabric. At that time I also asked for some additional work that was not in the original quote such as velvet seat covers to protect the chairs from my cat, we quickly agreed on the additional cost and it was not a problem. I did ask if I could come meet with the upholsterer to go over the placement of the fabric on the chair and was told that that would not be a problem. Alex kept my apprised of the progress (even after hours and on the weekends even though I told him I did not expect that) and I was able to go to the workshop to work with them as to the exact placement of the fabric on the chair which was very important to me. It did turn out that the stripping and staining of the chairs was a lot more work than what was estimated as they were painted with two different colors and had a lot more ridges and edges and needed extra coats to get the tone I wanted. Since the estimate was given based on just photographs I completely understood and had no problem paying more for the refinishing of the chairs. In my line of work, I am constantly asked for estimates as well and quite often the cost goes up once I dive into the matter as things pop up that I could not foresee initially and I always appreciate if my clients understand. Thus, I had no issue with it, besides, the work was done very well and it was worth it to me. I just got the chairs delivered today and I could not be happier. Alex and his team of upholsterers really listened to what my vision was, and made it a reality and the quality is excellent all around. It was a very collaborative effort, they understood that I was not a pro and had my own way of communicating what I wanted and they listened and used their impeccable skills to create two fabulous chairs, lots of pillows and the fanciest seat protectors for the most deserving senior rescue cat. Big Thank you to Alex and his team and I can highly recommend Jorges Upholstery and will go back to them if I have something else to upholster. Below is one photo of one of the chairs before Jorges did its magic (with the old striped fabric) and several pictures of the finished chairs. The velvet seat protectors were done so that my sweet cat could take the same comfortable nap on the new chairs as he did on the old chairs. read more
