The place is in downtown and it's very nice and the people were very nice and welcoming. We got a free honeybun and and the biscuits were very nice. The pancakes were the best though; it was on whole different level.

BEST SANDWICH!!   Tipton's Bacon, Egg, Cheese, Tomato & Lettuce, on grilled Toast; add Hash Browns on the side for a SHOW STOPPER. ***

Yelp delivered again. A true throwback diner experience from Norman Rockwell small town USA. We stopped in and 4 of us ate breakfast, with drinks for, I shit you not, $19.50. Good, homemade diner food. They have daily lunch specials. Friday is Soup Beans and cornbread, beef stew on Thursdays usually, and for real Grandma's cobblers. I think I heard chili on Mondays. This family owned/operated place has been in business for 48 years. The two unassuming and attentive staff working were the owner's son and the cobbler Grandma's granddaughter. I didn't pry about their relative places on the family tree, but they were super nice and genuinely glad we enjoyed the food. I think a burger is $3. I'll definitely come back here and recommend it highly. I'm willing to wager you couldn't keep a coffee cup empty for more than one minute.

Nov 2014: This place is AMAZING! We walked in and they were cooking up fresh bacon that made the entire establishment and even the street leading up to it smell delish! We had two meals, extra bacon, and coffee for only $12. The service and the food were amazing. We will definitely be coming back every time we visit TN! I was about 7 or 8 in the early 70's when papaw would go up the street to Tiptons and bring back a hamburger while mamaw shopped at Penneys.

We found this place while in the area for a college beach tournament…read more The place is small, but clean. We were told they were getting different tables during our visit. They had 3 tables for 4 and 3 tables for 2. There is also sweating at the counter. The staff were so nice and helpful. My husband had the meatball parmesan sub, on a fresh hoagie roll, with fries. I had a special, wrap with spicy chicken and fries. I asked for a side of ranch. Found out they make their ranch in house and it is delicious!! They make their bread. They had cakes and pies on display. Will be back in the area again for the SAC beach tournament and will definitely come back to Carter's Corner.

Carter's Corner is a local casual restaurant serving lunch and early dinner, dine-in or takeout…read more The place was a cozy homey atmosphere with table seating spaced close together. The food menu offers a selection of appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches. wraps. hoagies, quiche, pasta dishes, pizza, desserts, and a kids menu. The prices seem pretty reasonable. They also have posted specials. I stopped by Carter's Corner in Greeneville for lunch takeout very recently. I was greeted when I walked in. For takeout, I ordered the Steak Philly Cheese Hoagie with Fries ($9.95 plus tax) My food was hot & ready to go in 10 minutes, ketchup provided too. The 12" Hoagie was cut in halves and loaded heavy with lots of melted cheese, shaved grilled steak, sauteed onions & mushrooms on a soft thick sub roll. The golden fries were very hot and lightly salted. Overall, Carter's Corner was a good detour lunch stop for a very filling steak & cheese sub with fries at a reasonable price and friendly service. I would stop by here again if I was traveling through Greeneville again.

Color me hooked. I asked a friend several years ago about Mrs. Belts Cafe. He's no food snob, so I…read morerespect his recs. He wasn't impressed. I've avoided it since. I decided to go against the rec and try it out for myself. I did a lunch special for $9.99, which came with 3 side and a roll, cornbread, or cheddar biscuit. If that didn't get your attention, well read on, my Yelp! friend. I pickle meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, fried squash, and corn fritters ('cause I'm healthy like that). Meatloaf is a hard thing to do outside of your momma or grandmama's house. Cracker Barrel can't get it right for me. Troyer's, in Limestone can sell you a 1/2 pound piece of it, but you and I both know it's mid. This meatloaf was good. It was moist and tender, and not drenched in ketchup. The mashed potatoes were decent. The corn fritters were mid. I've saved the best for last - the friend squash was awesome! It was, if I'm honest, the star of the show. For $9.99, just under $11 with tags, tax, and title...yep, I'm in on that deal. The real star was the service. If you can find better service in Greeneville, let me know where it is. The cashier/waitresses were incredibly helpful and recommended things to this newcomer to the place. Will I be back? Um, maybe tomorrow, but if not it will be soon.
