I was a bit disappointed by the outside, inside, and decor of the Gondolier restaurant. The outside has faded painting that makes it appear as an abandoned building. Inside no real decor to speak to. The booth we sat at had taped up seats, as much as a 2 foot by 2ft spot. The ceiling had watermarks and dirt stains, which was not pleasant to look at. I will say our waitress was very responsive and did an excellent job. We were served breadsticks with a side of sauce. Unfortunately the sauce was very sweet like sugar was added or it came out of a can/jar. I felt the fried zucchini was acceptable when eating it with ranch sauce. I had the Stromboli with eggplant, meatballs, peppers, onions and mozzarella cheese. I felt the onions were a bit thick. Again the same sweet sauce was served. I ate only half and brought the rest home. My spouse had the veal Parmesan with a side of spaghetti and meat sauce. Spouse mentioned the veal was super thin and was something he wouldn't order again. The desserts looked good so we took two slices to go. My spouse had the carrot cake and I got a multi layered chocolate cake with chocolate shavings. It took both of us two days to finish our cake slices. I won't return for dine in but may try a sandwich for takeout. Food was hot and tasty. Service was excellent at 12:45 PM. Ambience, well the decor is aging and could use a refreshing. Could hear ugly sounding, screeching music in the background, but luckily it was faint and not too intrusive. We are here today. So I'm gonna just post a some what simple review We got there place is nice and clean inside and we was seated after about 45 seconds. Our waitress was nice and was quick with drinks and some great bread sticks. I ordered the ravioli something I haven't had since younger days so thought why not. My girlfriend had the da vincis delight. While the ravioli tasted okay I was expecting the seasoned beef to be a little more seasoned. And was a tad over cooked. That's my only complaint with that. My girlfriends she liked but said was a little bland but she still enjoyed it for 17 she said wasn't to bad. I will say I did finish mine and she ate about half of hers. Both meals came with salad. I may go back to give other items a shot but not a big hurry read more

There are a few gondolier restaurants in the area, so we tried this one and hoped it was as good as the others that we have been to. It absolutely was great. We ordered a large pizza which was served hot and promptly. Delicious pizza! Our service was outstanding, prices are good, and the restaurant is very clean. And certainly will be back. read more

The ambiance of the restaurant was probably the reason this couldn't hit higher . 4 stars actually generous BUT for the area this is a 4 star . Put this restaurant up against an Italian restaurant that is more authentic or in a larger city and the cracks would start showing . Again the food was great and came out steaming hot. Service amazing . Could have used nicer china and the inside while okay could use a remodel to get to that next step . The outside also looks very old and worn out . Overall great choice for Italian in Greenville but if you are used to higher standard of Italian, might not meet your expectations. read more

We ate here in early 2023. The place had a "mothballed" look to it. The server said that they closed during Covid and were just getting going again, bar was closed but supposedly going to re-open. Well, we went back today and there is zero change. It looks owner is just using it as a cash cow and letting it die :-( The food is pretty good, pizza was above average for this area and the Calzone was pretty good. Trash in the parking lot, old string lights on the front of the building, garbage behind the hostess stand and the old bar area just looks like open storage. read more

We arrived around 4:30 to make sure we got in before any dinner rush. The hostess wasn't at the stand, but came out fairly quickly to seat us. She was very friendly. Once seated, the waitress was also pretty quick to greet us and take a drink order. Then we waited to see her again for at least 10 minutes, but maybe even a little more. She brought our drinks and a plate of bread sticks, but no individual plates. She also has a dangly bracelet that she allowed to drag across the bread as she placed the plate. Kinda gross, as I doubt she washes her bracelet when she leaves the restroom. Appetizers were served quickly, hot, and good portion size. The bread sticks were merely ok. They needed some garlic and/or salt. The marinara for the bread was lukewarm at best. The salad bowl looked to be from the mid 1980s, with the 80s grime embedded into the plastic. The rest of the meal was served quickly. My "Easy Greek" pizza was wonderful! My wife's shrimp linguine was not good. The shrimp was fine, but the noodles and sauce were like noodle soup. No flavor in the sauce, and watery. My kids' spaghetti marinara and chicken Alfredo were delicious. Overall, we're happy with the friendly staff. The service leaves some room for improvement but wouldn't deter me from coming back. Try it out. Get the pizza. You'll like it! Expect mediocrity regarding ambience and food handling, and you won't leave feeling too disappointed. read more

Having eaten here almost every night for a week and trying a number of different things, I decided this is my favorite restaurant in the area and Brittany is my favorite server. The spaghetti with meat sauce, spaghetti and meatballs with meat sauce, baked spaghetti Gondolier, and house pizza are terrific and the portions are reasonable. I was not impressed with the stromboli or the lasagna, however. There are only two things I would ask for at Gondolier's. First, I would love to have a glass of wine with my dinner. First of all, Macy was our server! She was incredible! She was handling about ten tables and never kept us waiting for anything. She consistently checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed! She is young, but has a very strong work ethic and very sweet demeanor! She zips around that place fast, but not in a hectic manor! This place is lucky to have her! The menu: This place has a lot to choose from, which made it difficult because of so many good sounding choices! The menu is considerably hard to read due to the writing having background colors! The lighting is a little dim, which makes it even more difficult to read, though it adds to the Italian ambience! The food: It was just okay! The bread sticks we got prior to our dinners, were very bland! They looked like they would be good, but no buttery, garlicky or cheesy flavor. The dinner salad was a good portion, fresh and the Italian dressing was great! I ordered the "Tour of Italy" dinner. The spaghetti was luke warm and moderate in flavor! The Manicotti was very good! The Lasagna was a little dry and just okay! The Parmesan Chicken was dry and lacking in flavor! The portions were plentiful! My wife had the "Lobster Ravioli". She loved it! The ravioli's had a good amount of lobster in them and the sauce was thick and a perfect match for the ravioli's! One of our friends had a "Stromboli" which he said was good, but not great! It was about half the size of what he is used to getting when ordering a Stromboli! Our other friend had the Lasagna and Parmesan chicken dinner, which she said was dry and lacking in flavor! The only reason I would return to this restaurant is to try their pizza! I saw one as a the server was taking it to a table and it looked delicious! We live in Telford and I tried this restaurant with my wife and friends because we have heard good things about it. Food was damn near inedible. Honestly the best part of the entire meal was the drink. My girlfriend got lasagna, the noodles that it were in it were very overdone. The spaghetti's meat sauce was very watered down. A chicken parmesan, I don't know how to explain it but it just tasted off putting. Something with it was just uncannily wrong. The fries only tasted like the grease they were cooked in. Had to go to the neighboring gas station to use the restroom immediately after. If craving Italian, the meals here will suffice. They aren't the best, but they are certainly not the worst. I enjoy the Baked Spaghetti Gondolier. I feel the most bang for your buck is the gyro platter or a spaghetti/rigatoni dish baked with cheese. I would definitely return, but I wouldn't be in a rush. read more

The food is terrible. I have not had a good meal yet. The house dressing is gross. The marinara is definitely from a can. And the Alfredo that I got one time was more like pasta with butter. It was literally drenched in butter. I could not even eat it. I'm not sure why everyone around here likes it so much. We're from up north and we know real Italian food. My family and friends visit all the time. I even come monthly for a meeting. The variety of different foods on the menu means everyone can get what they like. Honestly I wish I could give this a 0 star. I had the baked ziti and it literally tasted like Campbell's tomato soup mixed with milk and the cheese was too clumped and chewy to even swallow. The spinach dip was more cheese than spinach with hardly no taste with the same chewy cheese on top. I don't know how people eat here. I haven't been in a few years and so I'm not sure if this was a one time instance...I could immediately tell than the furnishing looked much more worn out than they used to and it hadn't been cleaned well (our booth had cup stains on it, the highchair that was brought to us for our baby had food in it, the glass on the doors was dirty) I want to say that our waitress was great and very apologetic when we pointed this out and our pizza was actually pretty good. The main reason we will not be back for a while is THERE was a literal roach climbing around on the wall next to our booth! We moved tables and didn't end up having to pay for our food...I hesitate posting this because they might just be going through a rough patch and I don't want to "cancel" a small business that has been a community stable for years, but I really hope that they close for a few days to clean the place. Its a shame because when I was younger it was a place I really enjoyed going to and I hope that they get back on their feet soon. read more

Good Italian food. I occasionally dine here when visiting family in the Greeneville. Can't go wrong with the pizza however the menu is extensive. Five of us in total dined and only two of us got pizza because they have lots of pasta and specials. No one complained about their meal, everyone seemed happy. Breadsticks are amazing (think Papa John's only fresher), marinara sauce with them is definitely a little iffy though (thin, flavorless and possibly canned tomato soup). Only downside is that they can't (or don't) serve wine at the restaurant. Hard to get Italian food with no wine, but well worth a trip. Delicious (even as cold pizza the next day!) read more

Ordered out two large deluxe pizzas cost me $36 f@&king bucks and tasted like crap. That's $18 f@&king bucks a pice for garbage. The cheese was gritty, way too many black olives like they dumped the bucket all over the pizzas, I am PIST. WTF is this world coming to ween a f@&King pizza cost $18 f@&king bucks and you don't even get gold sprinkles. Shouldn't be no more then $12 for a deluxe. However they did refund my money so I give them 2 stars. They are nice people but I don't tolerate a f@&cking messed up over priced nasty food. read more
