I had high hopes for good pizza in Greeneville, sad to say this isn't it. I ordered a pizza by phone and when I entered the restaurant and saw the pizza oven I had a feeling the pizza wasn't going to be that good. I was expecting an old style pizza oven but this is a mechanized oven where the pizza is cooked while riding on a belt, like what you find in the pizza chain restaurants. Paid for the pizza and drove home. The smells emanating from the box smelled nothing like pizza. I waited to see it till I got home and this thin crust soft floppy pizza cut into strips were not worth the calories consumed. These pizza strips are so floppy you need to use two hands to eat it. What was I thinking? I've hit Rocky's (Greeneville and Jonesborough) for lunch and dinner a few times over the last few years, and I always got pizza. It's a good pizza. I like it. One day, I am at lunch with friends and someone orders spaghetti. Spaghetti? It's a risky move. Like ordering meatloaf out - maybe good, maybe okay, maybe bad, but never great. I watched an entire, large order disappear inside probably the smartest guy at the table. I recently ordered "The Works" spaghetti for lunch. I made the wise/unwise decision to get the full portion. I could not eat it all. I wanted too, but gluttony was not me that day. Fortunately, I had it for lunch the next day...at 10:30 in the morning, because I knew it was there and knew how good it was going to be. Go. Get pizza. Please, try the spaghetti. read more

2 stars or 3 stars? Well, the pizza was sorta close to 3 stars with a 2.5, so we'll round up (as math taught us to do). Wow, what a disappointment! I was so excited about trying Rocky's Pizza because I heard good things & being a Bostonian from an Italian family, I thought I found "the place!" The inside setting is so similar to a northeastern pizza cafe & that's about where it all stopped. After paying for & receiving my large Rocky's house pizza, I opened up the box to get a whiff & look of my new supper! Disappointment struck me as soon as I saw a round pizza chopped up as if it were a rectangular "special". Sorry, I'm a "pie" cut pizza kinda guy. So then I went home & on the way there, I couldn't resist, so I grabbed a piece & more disappointment set in. The 2" mini slice I grabbed flopped! WTF? Thin pizza is supposed to stand out straight, not flop like spaghetti noodles. Okay, so it's not perfect. Honestly, it's mostly about the taste, so let's just ignore the experience thus far! The BEST salads hands down and their veggie cheese bread is a must! I often drive the 30+ miles to get my salad fix. Pizza and subs are pretty great as well. They also offer take and bake so you can bake the pizza fresh in your oven. read more

This was the worst pizza I've ever had and I'm including frozen pizza. We had eaten here 7 or 8 years ago and I remember we really liked their sausage pizza so I was shocked by the awful crud we had delivered this weekend. I actually apologized to my family because it was my idea to order from there. We ordered the large 14" sausage pizza with extra sausage and a 12" cheesebread. We did not get extra sausage but that was actually very good luck because the sausage was disgusting. It was mushy and gross. We all agreed that it tasted like what we imagine dog food tastes like. The crust was soggy and nasty and nothing we ordered was hot. My son and DIL told me that they've had the pepperoni pizza and it was better, but I dislike pepperoni on pizza and the sausage used to be good. It's not anymore. The cheesebread was okay. It was much better than the pizza but it wasn't anything to get excited over. It came with a spaghetti style meat sauce instead of the marinara most places send with cheesebread, and the sauce was just okay. I was really angry with myself for spending all that money on pizzeria pizza when ANY frozen pizza would have been so much better. read more

Craving a hoagie, was recommended to Rocky's since they're close by and deliver. Ordered a ham and cheese hoagie with a large sweet tea. First impression, not sure about the bread used, sesame seed isn't a typical hoagie sandwich bun. Overlooking this, it was toasted just right so that was a plus. The majority of the lettuce was hard core chunks that had to be picked off, the tomato was squishy, and the mayo was a thin type consistency. In regard to the flavors, the ham was a bit too salty & while the mayo was a thin consistency, flavor-wise it was ok. The pickle was nice and crisp with just the right amount of tartness. Overall, the hoagie was mediocre at best, better than a convenience store refrigerated sandwich, but not something I would reorder or go out of my way to purchase. The sweet tea is sweetened just right; however, it has an odd strong aftertaste that I can't quite pinpoint. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend their hoagies or sweet tea. Perhaps their pizza is better, but given this first impression, unfortunately, I doubt I'll be ordering from here again. read more

We were just if visiting the area and wanted pizza. Picked Rocky's by chance and were so happy we did. Friendly service and the pizza was really good. Flavorful and not greasy. We hung out talking for quite a while and never felt rushed. We will definitely go back when in the area. read more
