I'll be honest. I really didn't want to eat here but my wife refused to eat at a chain off the highway so I chose this and ended up being a 30 minute detour to get to it. It was full of locals and squad of waitresses who semed to not really have any specific tables to serve. They just kind of wandered over at random times. I nice little down-home greasy spoon with some great, inexpensive home cooking. The only quibble it the mac & cheese, which was more like some mac with milk poured on it. Gross. I hope they work on that over time. HOWEVER, the food here is otherwise awesome. A lot of old fashioned faves like meatloaf and buscuits and gravy (both awesome). This place is only open for breakfast and lunch so don't come if you want dinner. read more

The Sweet Tea was exceptional--served ice-cold, which is a rarity in many places where it's just chilled at the time of serving. The service was great as well, and while the food took a little longer to arrive, it wasn't a long wait at all. I would've preferred the gravy for the biscuits to have sausage in it, though. The home fries didn't quite live up to my expectations for a Southern spot; they could have used a little chopped onion and bacon to really elevate them. On the other hand, the biscuits were fluffy and delicious! The restaurant has a cozy, homey atmosphere that makes me look forward to returning soon. read more

We visited Tusculum for basketball camp and stopped here for a bite. Cute little restaurant for grandparents to take their grandkids. At home at grannies feel with good food. Everyone loves grandma house in my opinion. I had the peanut butter double stack pancakes and a side of crispy bacon. Hubby had eggs, sausage links, home fries. We both h0ad water he had water with lemon (lemon comes in packets no fresh lemon Wednesday available). Nice place and people, not my type of go to for next time in the area. read more

It's okay but not great! If you enjoy simple dining & like a tasty breakfast then Aunt Bea's is decent. Nothin' to write home about unless this is your 1st experience with average southern breakfast food. The lunch menu is so-so but not the best choice for lunch in Greeneville, I promise you, but also not the worst! Her biscuits are what I think people go there for, just a guess (yes they were very tasty & worth the visit). I'm currently a "townie" (past year 1 1/2) so I know Greeneville restaurants pretty good as we enjoy eating out a lot! I have been to this place a few times and was never that impressed but my husband liked it. So, he suggested we meet some friends there as they were passing through on their way home to NC. We were brought waters and our orders were taken. That is the last time our server came to our table. After a while, my husband went to the coffee station to get coffee for himself and our friends. He was reprimanded by the server but what else could he do? No one was serving us. We were there 1 1/2 hours and still no food. We were busy talking with our friends and didn't realize that much time had passed. A table of 8 that came in after us received their food. We decided to go somewhere else so our friends could eat and get on the road. As we were walking out, our server stopped my husband and asked where we were going. The server said our food was coming up right then and asked what he should do with the food we weren't going to eat. No apologies or even an acknowledgement that we had been overlooked. Beyond ridiculous. I have been a server. I feel sure our order was misplaced and I know that happens. However, there is no excuse for totally ignoring a table for 1 1/2 hours. read more

The meatloaf and coconut cream pie were seriously excellent! A bit chaotic. You seat yourself and often it seemed the servers didn't know who was responsible for greeting new tables. I saw several people looking around impatiently with nothing in front of them. I don't think they have a good system/process, but all interactions were pleasant. Food served warm at best.....who likes a breakfast that the eggs and hash browns aren't at least warm to eat

When you walk in you feel like you are Aunt Beas home. The restaurant is well kept but you know it's been there awhile. The hostess and waitress were very cordial. The first thing that stood out here is the price of the food. Great variety on menu for a very affordable price. I had the two eggs, hash browns, three slices of bacon (crispy) and toast. My lovely wife had the one egg, with biscuits and gravy. Our niece had a corn dog and fries. Corn dog cooked crispy and the hand cut fries were the best (I ate most of them ) All the food was cooked to perfection and delicious. The coffee was great. We will be back next visit the Greeneville! A great cozy place with great staff and delicious food. read more

Only giving one star, because I can't give a zero. Took my in-laws there to eat, waited about 8 minutes before we were even acknowledged at the front. Someone finally told us to have a seat where we wanted, then took another 15 minutes before anyone came to greet us. Once we had placed our drink order, it took another 5 min to get a menu, but it took them another 20 minutes before they came back to take our order. We finally placed our order, but by now five more groups had come in after us, including a couple that sat right next to us at a table that was reserved for 6 to 10 people. Those two people next to us were able to get their drinks/menu, order their food, get refills, finish their food, pay for the food, and finally leave, before we even received our food. When we finally received the food, only three of the four orders came in. Once we got the final order, it was missing all condiments and was literally two pieces of bread and a piece of chicken fried steak. I had to find a manager to explain the situation which took another 8-10 min. By this time I had lost my appetite. Despite being offered to fix anything and or order something else, I simply chose to send the food back and remove it from the bill. Thumbs down to food. Thumbs way down to service. Thumbs sideways for ambiance. Will never return. read more

This is my favorite restaurant to get breakfast. TBH- I didn't like biscuits and gravy until having theirs. But it is delicious! Also, I highly recommend the meat lover's omlet. It's the equivalent of a western omlet, but probably the best I've ever had. French toast is good. Grits are good. Corned beef hash is... Probably out of a can. Pancakes are good. Eggs are great. You really gotta look hard for something on the menu that isn't good. And don't be put off by the lack of seating for parties over 4; they will gladly move tables together so you can sit with your larger number of guests. Now for the negative: Skip the home fries. They're always overdone and too crunchy: they're deep fried, not done on a stove top. Also, be prepared to have really bitter, weak, gross coffee and need a lot of creamer and sugar. And the waitresses will try to keep refilling it too full so that it spills over the sides-- every.time. and you always have to keep adding more creamer and more sugar to cover up the gross coffee taste. Overall, aunt beas is awesome and you should eat there. read more

I've had breakfast here a few times and every time was good. Of particular note is the sausage. It must be local because it's much more flavorful than the usual stuff. I wish they would give two patties instead of one, but the one is ok by itself. Two times my biscuit was less than fluffy. The last time it was crusty like it had sat out too long and dried out. Other times the biscuits are great. The gravy is pretty good. Service has always been excellent, even when they are really busy. There are a lot of locals who go here, so you'll see the wait staff sitting with customers talking sometimes. They still make sure to check on you so your coffee stays hot and full. Prices are great, especially for the amount of food. Two adults waddled out completely full for $12. I've paid that much for a single breakfast entree and not been as full or satisfied. If they get consistent on the biscuits, they would be an easy 5 star place. read more

Everything was okay, nothing was great. My husband and I went for breakfast since it's one of the few local Greeneville restaurants that are open in the morning. They are always fairly busy but have short hours and close early. My scrambled eggs were a bit dry and overcooked but still okay. The sausage patty was pretty good and tasted homemade. The pancakes were huge but also a bit dry. The coffee was fine but nothing to write home about. My hubs got an omelette which was on the small side and again a bit dry and overcooked. (I'm sensing a theme here.) He got hash browns with cheese and onions which he truly enjoyed. The service was pretty good and the prices are fair. All in all, if you want breakfast in Greeneville, this place is worth checking out. read more

Definitely worth a visit and I'll repeat. Solid 4 stars for food and service. Small town diner atmosphere. They have specials every day and breakfast "all day." That means until closing which is after lunch. A plethora of servers, like 7 or 8 for about 30 tables means your drink won't run low and condiments etc come quickly. We stopped for breakfast on our way back from hiking the Appalachian Trail. Wow! I had breakfast - eggs, bacon, sourdough toast, and French toast. Amazing! And the sweet tea - they definitely understand how it's supposed to be made! My husband had the meat and three - baked chicken, green beans, corn nuggets and dressing. Good home cooking! My son had a hot ham and Swiss with home-cooked fries. He ate EVERY bite. Fries can be hit or miss.....but these were a definite hit. Service was friendly - we felt very welcome! Update to Review made 11/1/2018: Breakfast was so good, I decided to stop in for lunch one recent weekday. I decided to arrive at 11:00am, like I always do for lunch, in order to beat the crowd. Apparently, the locals love this place so much, that they also arrive at 11:00am to beat the crowd because there was 1 parking space open and 1 booth open. My mother ordered the chicken breast with dressing and said it was very good. I had just about the best pinto beans and cornbread that I've ever eaten. The corn bread, which is actually muffins, were not sweet (kudos! I HATE sweet cornbread) and were very moist, and it's not an easy thing to do to make cornbread moist. The service was excellent again and the prices are low. If there were Aunt Bea restaurants all around the country, at most interstate exits they would put Cracker Barrel out of business. Original Review was made October 15, 2018: Stopped in for breakfast before hiking about 8am on a Saturday. The parking lot was quite full - a good sign that the locals know this is a great place to eat. We were able to be seated immediately and service was quick. The food was fresh and there were no delays in getting our order. Service was friendly. Dining area and restroom was clean. Most importantly, the food was good. We weren't able to eat here as we decided to leave before ordering. The whole restaurant seemed out of sorts and extremely high stress. We had a young lady stop by our table about 5 mins after sitting down that told us she would be right back by. About 2 mins after that someone that looked like a manager came by obviously annoyed and asked if we had gotten our drinks yet. We responded that we hadn't and she asked what we wanted then proceeded to walk over to the drink station, talked to a few waitresses, then promptly went and sat down at a table in the restaurant to eat her own food. Another 5 mins went past and still no drinks. My suggestion if you wanted to eat your breakfast than you shouldn't have come and gotten a drink order that you had no intention fulfilling.
