Peanut butter pankcakes
Kendre W.

We visited Tusculum for basketball camp and stopped here for a bite. Cute little restaurant for grandparents to take their grandkids. At home at grannies feel with good food. Everyone loves grandma house in my opinion. I had the peanut butter double stack pancakes and a side of crispy bacon. Hubby had eggs, sausage links, home fries. We both h0ad water he had water with lemon (lemon comes in packets no fresh lemon Wednesday available). Nice place and people, not my type of go to for next time in the area.

Coconut cream pie FTW!
Kristin L.

The meatloaf and coconut cream pie were seriously excellent! A bit chaotic. You seat yourself and often it seemed the servers didn't know who was responsible for greeting new tables. I saw several people looking around impatiently with nothing in front of them. I don't think they have a good system/process, but all interactions were pleasant. Next time I'll try breakfast!

We had the breakfast. I was good. Service was slow but they were hopping. We had a pretty average experience here.

Not home cooking. The same packaged gravy and frozen food that everyone here seems to prepare. Nothing special about this place

The crispy potatoes were also good, and the Parmesan spinach tasted okay. However, the meal ended up causing a severe health issue for both my husband and myself. I ordered the fish and chips and was highly disappointed by the food quality. It wasn't the thick, flaky pub-style fish with a light crust you expect; instead, it was thin, heavily breaded, and tasted like a frozen product. I didn't care for the lemon caper sauce or malt vinegar combination and only ate a few small pieces of fish and two bites of the spinach side. That dinner (along with morning coffee with cream) was all I had consumed that entire day. Around midnight, I woke up with agonizing stomach cramps and spent the next several hours alternately vomiting and dealing with severe diarrhea. It was a miserable experience! My husband only tasted a single piece of my fish to see what I meant about the quality, and he had the Parmesan spinach side with his own meal. On our drive home, he had to make an emergency restroom pitstop and suffered from loose stools multiple times through the night, too. Because the fish and the spinach were the only shared items between us, there was clearly a major food safety issue with one of them. Management needs to urgently investigate their seafood storage, handling, or spinach prep temperatures. Drink here for the cold beer, but be extremely cautious with the food!

I decided to go against the rec and try it out for myself. I did a lunch special for $9.99, which came with 3 side and a roll, cornbread, or cheddar biscuit. If that didn't get your attention, well read on, my Yelp! friend. I pickle meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, fried squash, and corn fritters ('cause I'm healthy like that). Meatloaf is a hard thing to do outside of your momma or grandmama's house. Cracker Barrel can't get it right for me. Troyer's, in Limestone can sell you a 1/2 pound piece of it, but you and I both know it's mid. This meatloaf was good. It was moist and tender, and not drenched in ketchup. The mashed potatoes were decent. The corn fritters were mid. I've saved the best for last - the friend squash was awesome! It was, if I'm honest, the star of the show. For $9.99, just under $11 with tags, tax, and title...yep, I'm in on that deal. The real star was the service. If you can find better service in Greeneville, let me know where it is. The cashier/waitresses were incredibly helpful and recommended things to this newcomer to the place. Will I be back? Um, maybe tomorrow, but if not it will be soon.

Extremely Disappointed in Management's Handling of a Serious Food Safety Concern in Greeneville, TN…read moreOn the evening of Friday, October 16, my family and I dined at the Texas Roadhouse in Greeneville, Tennessee. Unfortunately, what should have been an enjoyable family dinner turned into an extremely disappointing experience that raised serious concerns about food safety and management accountability. My daughter has been medically diagnosed with celiac disease, a serious autoimmune condition that requires strict avoidance of gluten. Before ordering, we specifically informed our server of her condition and emphasized the importance of preventing cross-contamination. Our server acknowledged our concerns and assured us that precautions would be taken to ensure her food was prepared safely. My daughter ordered a salad without croutons. After receiving her salad and taking several bites, she discovered an actual crouton in the salad, along with additional crouton crumbs. We immediately notified our server, who apologized and told us she would be right back. When she returned, she informed us that the manager had instructed her to explain that the kitchen staff use the same gloves to reach into the croutons and the salad mix, and that my daughter would be better off not ordering a salad. Let that sink in. A restaurant that advertises gluten-friendly menu options apparently has a food preparation practice that routinely exposes its salad ingredients to gluten. Even more concerning, this information was only disclosed after my daughter had already consumed part of the contaminated salad. We ultimately substituted broccoli for her side, but the alternative side dish was not the issue. My biggest disappointment was the complete lack of concern and accountability demonstrated by management. Rather than personally addressing a legitimate food safety concern, discussing how the situation occurred, or offering any meaningful reassurance about preventing another incident, the manager simply relayed a message through our server that my daughter should avoid ordering the salad. Celiac disease is not a dietary preference, a fad, or a matter of simply picking croutons off a salad. Even small amounts of gluten can trigger an autoimmune response and cause intestinal damage. For someone with this condition, cross-contact is a serious medical concern. If your kitchen routinely handles salad ingredients in a manner that exposes them to gluten, why are those salads being offered as gluten-friendly options in the first place? Customers with medical dietary restrictions deserve accurate information about how their food is prepared before they consume it, not after a potentially harmful mistake has already occurred. What concerns me most is that the management response suggested this was an accepted kitchen practice rather than an isolated mistake that needed to be corrected. I find the handling of this situation unprofessional, unacceptable, and deeply concerning from a food safety standpoint. Greeneville has relatively few dining options for individuals with celiac disease, and families like mine depend on restaurants to take their advertised dietary accommodations seriously. We chose Texas Roadhouse believing my daughter could enjoy a meal with her family while having reasonable precautions taken for her safety. Instead, we left questioning whether this location understands the importance of preventing gluten cross-contact at all. I sincerely hope Texas Roadhouse corporate management reviews this incident, evaluates the food preparation practices at the Greeneville location, and addresses the apparent lack of management accountability. My daughter deserves to be able to enjoy a family dinner without having her medical condition treated as an inconvenience. Very disappointed in this experience and especially in the response from management. The one bright spot was the server. She was super sweet, professional, punctual, overall the best thing about this location. We have dined here dozens of times and Bre is a jewel.
