The tap room is decorated with a lot of old time signs, etc. and is 'fun.' The service was great, and the staff were extremely nice and helpful. When they get busy they seem to not be organized. On March 7th they had a live band which was very good. But they obviously didn't plan enough on food inventory, at 7pm they had already ran out of chicken wings, there famous pretzels and beer cheese, and two other items I can't remember. Although they were busy it took them over an hour to get our food to the table. We ordered a BLT sandwich and it didn't even come with tomatoes. So it was a BL sandwich at that point. Servers kept saying how crazy it was that night. But it wasn't the servers fault. Owner and manager dropped the ball on this. Lack of preparation and inventory and way under staffed. Go early if you want to order anything off the menu or you just might not get what you want. read more

We came by as we were staying in an Air bnb close by. We sat on the back porch and got a flight to try (pbj milk stout, abita fruit, johnson City brown, peach) We liked all but the fruit beer. We also ordered the spicy cauliflower bites, wings, and salad with chicken. The spicy cauliflower wings were our favorite. the wings were good but had some small ones. The salad was a bit small but had lettuce and spinach, a few very wilted spinach leaves. The porch has a giant marble foot that the owner just liked so added to the outdoor space. Most of the patrons were eating in the space outside and the waitress was awesome in keeping up with everyone. We asked about growlers and they only had 64 oz. but they told us they had smaller plastic ones. So we ordered Johnson City brown and picked it up at the bar on the way out. I laughed out loud when they handed us what looked like an apple juice bottle full of beer. We know better next time to ask more questions. read more

My mom and I decided to finally have dinner here after living in the area for a couple years. I wish we had tried this joint sooner. The service was excellent! Our server was Paula but no less than 3 staff members inquired about our drinks and meal. I've been to Michelin restaurants where this type of service was never provided. I wanted to try a beer flight with local options. I told Paula I disliked Coors Light. Paula delivered! Usually I get a beer flight and dislike 1 or 2 of the options. This time, I enjoyed all of the beers. Peaches was pleasantly surprising, but it was the Chicago style stout that impressed me. The taste of chocolate was like fireworks in my mouth. Thank you Paula for recognizing four fabulous tap options. The burgers were cooked exactly as we requested and placed on the table with a smile. Taken here by family my first night in the area. American cuisine and craft beer. Not much else need be said. I enjoyed the patty melt made with Angus beef. I don't normally eat pub food, which made it taste even better. And I truly enjoyed my Peanut Butter Milk Stout from TailGate Brewery. The Tap Room has indoor & enclosed patio seating. My hubs and I have been there three times and will likely go again. We don't drink beer but they have an extensive list for those that do. The place is clean, trendy-ish (for such a small town it's a welcome change of ambiance!), and they have both indoor and outdoor areas. The food is pretty good, with some items better than others. On our latest visit we got fried cheese curds as an app. Delicious! I could eat a vat of the marinara dipping sauce! Previously, we had ordered the soft pretzel with beer cheese, which is also divine. I ordered the patty melt on marbled rye with fries. It was all hot and fresh but the patty melt was on the dry side. It was cooked to well done (I would have preferred medium rare but they didn't ask) and the meat itself was dense and not juicy. Overall, it was okay. The fries were crispy and fresh. My hubs ordered the Philly cheesesteak and had to send the first one back. The meat, onions and peppers were hard charred and black AF. Plus, the sandwich was super light on filling. Actually, it was almost just a few black bits on bread. The waitress was happy to have a new sandwich made. It came out fast, hot, and the steak pieces were cooked to medium. My hubs said it was great and he would order it again. The service was friendly and they all made sure we were happy. It is a good and affordable place with a beautiful sit out (during summer) and is equipped with a good variety of board games and outdoor games. Food is good. Good price, staff was pleasant. We were thrilled when we learned that dogs are allowed on the pleasant patio. It was great to not have any of the waitstaff bickering amongst themselves, that alone made our lunch more enjoyable. Attended again recently. Still tiny and awkwardly laid out inside. Bar seats still the wrong height for the bar. Still one sole bathroom unit. New staff member trying hard but not quite there yet. Selection great if you like IPA, but otherwise slim pickings for a taphouse. Beers now $6.5 per pint! OK? Same exact beers at places like Cascade, Barley Waters, and the *actual breweries many of them came from* just up the road in the Tri Cities are $3-5, unless high gravity, of course. We went out to the semi-enclosed patio this time to escape the inside - so our group could have a conversation without every person being able to hear it. Cold evening. Heaters turned off. We asked twice if they planned to turn the heaters on. We were told, "we'll try". Odd answer considering the two units they had were simply unplugged. Another party of two and a man by himself also asked about the heaters. They were told "sure". We were glad to hear that, but we waited about a half hour and finally got too cold / frustrated to wait any longer. We proceeded inside to finish our flights in silence. As we left (approximately 15 minutes later) we noticed the one man by himself still sitting out there looking quite uncomfortable...he'd ordered food, so he was pretty much stuck. The other party actually left before ordering, it seemed. If they don't plan to use the heaters anymore, so be it...but don't lie to customers and/or stall them until they leave. Overall I just can't get the appeal of this place. People are nice at virtually any taproom / brewery...and all of them have outdoor tables, games, etc. I can only guess all of the people giving five stars are from this area. Since it's the only choice, it must seem special? Beats me. You can get the same stuff right up the road yet with full size interior space, actual fire pits and/or full time heaters, live entertainment, beer gurus on staff, adequate bathrooms, etc. for quite a bit less money. Heck, they didn't even have music playing this time, and only had one basic tv going outside playing some random espn subchannel. read more

We frequent this place once per week. I didn't take pictures of my food, I apologize. The service is very good except for one time but they were very very busy but still accommodate well.
