So good! Seafood of all kinds, welcoming to large parties, great food, nice bathroom, good parking lot, just wonderful. We missed happy hour but it was worth it!
First time at this fish restaurant that had big outside patio seating and live music. The bartender was nice and helped with providing information on specialty drinks. The draft taps were all inactive for some reasons but lots of cold bottle beers ready to serve. Oysters were being shucked right in front of me while listening to live retro music. The Mahi fingers were good and went well with my drink.
My mother and I had lunch here a few months ago. We were celebrating her birthday and we enjoyed everything. Lobster Bisque and New England Clam Chowder were both excellent. The Hush Puppies (served with honey butter) were a bit overcooked but still very good. The Clam Strips appetizer was the perfect portion for my mother, and she loved them. The chef made me Baked Clams (not on the menu), and they were worth the wait. I decided to order six and I ate them all. They were that good! A nice surprise was the beautifully plated Key Lime Pie they sent out for my mom. I'm not a fan, but their version was scrumptious. Our server was excellent! I forgot his name, but he was very attentive and chatted with my mom, and that made her feel special. Very relaxed vibe, with lots of Fulton New York fish market decor with a few Long Island fishing towns thrown into the mix. Fun atmosphere. Price points are fair for the fresh seafood they serve. I think my six baked clams were eighteen dollars. Fully justified as they are not even on the menu and were loaded with fresh clams and very little filler. If you ask nicely and the restaurant isn't packed, the chef will make you anything as long as they have the ingredients on hand. They have a full bar and are closed on Monday. Prices vary and change based on market costs, which are printed on their menu. Fresh seafood and great service, make this laid-back New York nautical themed restaurant a new favorite.
We went to an early morning breast cancer walk and we're looking for a spot to grab a brunch early. We came across Tin Fish. Our server greeted us as we entered- we were the first people there. To my surprise they had a solid brunch menu. We were a group of 5 and everything-drinks and food- came out quickly to us. They had some good 90s tunes in the background playing so we stayed for a while. Our server made sure to check on us frequently. I had the regular breakfast which was a good portion size. Everyone enjoyed their meal- I would love to come back to try the conch fritters- they looked good!
I absolutely love this place. The food is insanely amazing! I have been coming here since it opened. The owners are all so friendly and kind. They always walk around and check on everyone. The seafood is always fresh and delicious. I get the tuna poke appetizer as my meal. It is literally my favorite meal of all time. It has a nice refreshing ginger soy balsamic sauce on the field greens and tuna. They make homemade pita chips which come hot and delicious. Today we tried the kaboom shrimp and the drunken mussels as well. Both of which were absolutely incredible. Huge portion of mussels that were so flavorful and tender. The kaboom shrimp was lightly fried and had a very zesty delicious sauce which we enjoyed. My fiancé had the fried grouper sandwich which was crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked inside. Everything is always 10/10!! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Can't wait to come back soon!
Tin Fish is one of the best fresh fish spots in town! I've had the ahi tuna, salmon, grouper, and snapper, and all were super fresh tasting and perfectly seasoned. The servers are always friendly and attentive. I also really enjoy their ceviche appetizer and the corn bread they bring out is to die for. They have a nice outdoor patio to dine at and their inside is decorated with sports bar/beachy vibes. Their happy hour is next up on my bucket list!
Let's just say that my husband and I haven't been this happy with our meal in a very long time. This place was absolutely delicious. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. We got the ceviche and it came with the best chips, they were addicting. The tacos were so tasty and a great balance of fish and toppings. My husband loved his fish too and stated the vegetables made a great addition. My son didn't leave not one fish nugget. We were all so happy with our dishes. Everyone was extremely attentive and our waitress gave us great recommendations. They were playing live music and the atmosphere was great. The only thing was that it was too cold for me so next time I'll be taking a sweater. Can't wait to go back!
Came for lunch with my mom and we both enjoyed it. My mom was in the mood for seafood. It was a first time for us both. I wasn't hungry so only ordered the fish dip. It was good. I also got a fish taco to go. It was fine but I'd skip it next time. My mom got the shrimp and grits which she really enjoyed. The grits were cheesy, creamy, and seasoned well. She also got a salmon taco and really liked it. Is definitely return. Prices are more than what is expect from the area but not outrageous. I also liked that the restaurant did not smell fishy nor did our food. Tells me the seafood is fresh.
Great service. Delicious food! Would come back a thousand times. Huge variety of menu. I was afraid I wouldn't like anything since I don't eat fish. Everything was excellent! The service was great too!
Service, Service,Service!!!!!5 stars on that alone. Saturday day date the clams, mussels and shrimp were tasty and fresh with the right amount of garlic, the bread that was served with it was so enjoyable I wanted the entire loaf and I'm not a bread eater. Our main meals were sandwiches which I'm so happy we ordered because we were stuffed from the large portion is our appetizer. I had the fried snapper and wifey had the shrimp po boy both were very fresh tasting not heavily breaded and over all an amazing tasting sandwich!!! Can't wait to return.
I've always walked pass Tin Fish on the way to Doris Market and noticed it's always busy and lively. Finally I stopped in for dinner on a weeknight and though it was only 3 tables full, the food and service were great. I love seeing the history of the restaurant on the walls and having the servers explain the menu in detail for a first timer. I really liked being able to see the fish I order before they cook it. I started with their famous fish taco. It was loaded with lightly breaded fish pieces and veggies with this delicious sauce on a warm tortilla. I'm usually not a big taco person but this one has me wanting to come back for more. I also got the appetizer dual pot with clams and mussels. Super fresh and the garlic butter wine sauce it was stewed in was amazing. I took it to go so I could boil some linguine with it. It comes with garlicky toasted baguette pieces and just the bread is phenomenal. Crunchy on the outside, soft in the center and topped with fresh minced garlic. The fried whole fish we selected was a yellowtail and the smallest they had for 2 people was 2.25 lbs. It was pretty hefty but after it was fried, it wasn't as much as we thought. We got the Asian sauce on the side and it was delicious. Definitely will be back!
Ok why is isnt this place being talked about more. Today was our date night and my turn to pick where to eat. A friend mention this place so we figured we would give it a try. When we first arrived it was a bit empty which made me nervous but I figured it was because the weather was a bit crappy. We started with the oysters and drinks and boy or boy were we excited. The oysters were absolutely to die for, they were soft, plump and meaty. The horse radish was freshly grated and gave it just enough kick. We loved them so much we ordered three half dozens all different variety's. For our entrées, we ordered the shrimp appetizer and the ribeye steak with sweet potato fries. Everything was absolutely fantastic. Steak was cooked to perfection and those shrimps were out of this world. It was enough for both of us to eat and be full. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better the waiter Leo came over and entertained us with some magic tricks. He was fantastic from start to finish. We felt bad because we got there around 7:30 and they were closing at 9 yet they still allowed us to have a fantastic experience . We didn't feel rushed and we seriously had the greatest time ever. We will absolutely be returning again ! Thanks Tin fish for a great experience
Last time I reviewed this restaurant was 7 years ago, and since then, they have about doubled in size and added an outdoor deck. It continues to be a great neighborhood seafood restaurant, not too big and welcoming. The quality of the food is still very good with a nice selection of fish and shellfish. Everything is super fresh and service is friendly and fast. They also have a good size bar area with a few large TVs. And you can always count on finding a few local craft beers in their menu. My new favorite dish is their salmon burger. You can get it grilled or fried (I like it grilled), it is served bun-less and on a bed of coleslaw. It is delicious!

Once again Yelp came through for me! I decided to check out Tin Fish based on my location and the reviews. I'm so happy that I went with this choice! The restaurant is located in a busy shopping plaza and had a cute outdoor seating area that offered mists for when temperatures rise. I decided to dine inside. The decor was very interesting! The menus were a little heavy, but that was due to the fact that they had. "tin" cover. There were plenty of fried and grilled seafood options and they also had oysters on the menu. The server suggested the Stone Crab Chowder and it was excellent! I decided to go with the Kaboom Shrimp Tacos for my entree. They were actually a little bigger than expected. Due to the fact that I had the cup of chowder, I was stuffed. The tacos were very tasty as well. I enjoyed the mix of ingredients that were included. The server had such a pleasant personality and the woman that appeared to be he owner (or maybe the manager) was very nice too. I loved how they quickly acknowledged every single customer that came through the door. read more

So, despite the place being fairly slow and empty, service was definitely slow as I've read. At one point our server came and apologized for my drink taking so long. The conch fritters appetizer was good but didn't feel very hot. Our main dishes were good and fresh though. I got the fried mahi and fried shrimp platter with fries and coleslaw. I believe my wife got the fried snapper platter. The food tasted great. My top shelf long islands were perfect! My wife ordered some of the funky Buddha beers and liked them. The atmosphere was nice. They have indoor and outdoor seating with live music outside but definitely listenable inside. My only negative would be the speed of service but everything else seemed to be fine. Our server was friendly and answered any questions we had about the menu. I would recommend this place over Red Lobster which is a place I love. The prices are normal and the attire is casual. This would be a great place to open on the beach. read more
I thoroughly enjoy my dining experience at Tin Fish! The waiter (I believe his name was Jason or Jeffrey) was very knowledgeable of the menu and the many options they restaurant offers! The Loster chowder was yummy along with the Fried sampler for an appetizer. For the main dish, I order grilled salmon, steamed veggies and slaw! Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious! I forgot to mention, they have a full bar which is always a BONUS! I will definitely be visiting again very soon! read more

Chef Joseph and his outstanding staff do nothing less than an impeccable job every single day, and continuously master the craft of the most delicious, creative, and fresh seafood I've ever tasted. There are no sloppy or odd days with this work family. These 3 images are of 3 different occasions of so many visits of mine. This is my absolute favorite neighborhood restaurant, where you always feel like family, and the food and employees never ever disappoint. There is nothing more amazing than sitting down, and seeing the friendships this restaurant has created with our community. When the customers enjoy their environment, it shows. You don't just have a memorable meal, you make friends with the other customers as well. It's a win win every time! It's not everyday that a chef or manager sit with you and want to ensure you're having a fantastic experience - but that's exactly what you get here: genuine interest from the owner, the manager, waiters, and cook on whether you enjoyed your meal or not. They appreciate feedback and it is wonderful to see the pride they take (and rightfully so) in every single dish! My go to restaurant all day, every day. If you haven't been yet, I strongly encourage you to go. Once you try their food and the experience, you'll be back for more like I do! read more

lol it's COVID issue time, I was starving , just left my docs office, was in the mood for a Mahi Fish sandwich, I calledSpoke to Kamile B , She was very helpful I explain to her I was driving and didn't have a menu but was dying for a fish sandwich! So she asked if I wanted it Friday I said yes extra tartar sauce please! it came with coleslaw and a side of french fries, I said perfect ! she said how long till you get here? I said 4 mins, ! Sure enough I got there , parked car ran inside, Kamile said 2 more mins! No prolbem , fish sandwich was done , bagged up ready ,for me to go ,we almost forgot the ice tea which was home brewed , delicious sweet tea! so I got in the car moved onto a tree and ate my lunch but only issue was no plasticware?? I thought oh no what am I going to use so I use the french fries as my knife and had to eat the coleslaw with my fingers, lol I was so hungry I didn't care who saw me anyway I was sitting in the car everything was absolutely delicious I forgot to take a picture of the french fries but they're done with some Cajun spices on top everything was cooked perfectly and I can't thank you guys enough be safe just next time put in the silverware! The service was great and the food was amazing. The only complaint is the air vents dripping towards table. A simple solution is using a rag and occassionally wipe the vents every three hours or so. This way it will not drop into people food. read more

I absolutely love Tin Fish. I've been here on several occasions and it's been delicious every time. The fish has always been fresh, and tasty. Mahi is my favorite, so that's the first thing I tried. The portion was spot on and it was cooked to perfection. I would also recommend the kaboom shrimp appetizer! You get about 12-15 shrimp on a bed of cabbage which can be an entree, its tangy- not so spicy. They have an array of sauces made in house, I didn't realize it was such a big portion- it looked like a cup of soup. its prefect for dipping and what not, i took the leftover sauce home and made some dishes of my own with it. Highly recommend the lemon sauce. You have the option of sitting inside or out, they have umbrellas to shield the sun outside and the temp is nice and cool inside as well. Check this place out of you dig seafood, you won't regret it. read more

I had the most amazing dinner at Tin Fish. Wow! I have not had such a great meal in a long time. This is worth the drive out to Sunrise even if you are East of 95. We had the most fresh snapper sashimi and Blue Point Long Island Oysters, kaboom shrimp, grilled octopus And cornbread. Chef Joseph Melluso is so knowledgeable, experienced and friendly. His history in the fish business is so interesting and impressive. His team is also well trained, knows the menu and makes great drinks with the freshest ingredients. Love the fun decor too. read more
Giving this place a 5 since it checked all the boxes: atmosphere, service, and taste! The place looks unassuming as it sits in a shopping mall but it's very nice once you get closer with a nice patio area and divey decorations on the inside. The service was good and they had quite a few drink selections. But the food really shined! You can taste the freshness and flavor in each dish. Everything we had was very flavorful and delicious! read more

Fellow Yelpers, What more can ask for really, a seafood lovers paradise, very small dining room with an outside patio. Prices are a bit too high in my opinion and was really disappointed with the oysters rockafella 4 tiny oysters for over 12 bucks. Not worth it. Fish tacos are fantastic. And have some good options. read more

The fresh seafood is amazing and the bartender and the clam guy make your visit even better if you like the bar like myself ....the food is good but the seating is close and limited and the outside seating isn't my favorite but again all that aside the good food and service definitely cover that up. I also loved the fact that the owner and head chef was in the back really putting in work. I think that just made my food and experience all that much better read more

Ask the Community - Tin Fish
Is the lobster roll worth $40?
Depends on you food budget. It is all fresh and I love everything I have eaten there.
Is this good for large groups (50)?
No, I don't think Tin Fish seats 50 people inside. Perhaps inside and outside combined if you reserved the entire restaurant.…
