FRESH FISH... Loved the outdoor patio that had several wooden tables with large fish decor hanging from the ceiling. Pleasantly surprised by the interior fishery decor. The beautiful Red Snapper were on the front bar straddling an ice mound perfectly situated next to the mega sized oyster display. We sat at the bar and took advantage of the Happy Hour food and drink specials. Ordered a Margherita and a craft beer in addition to the fish dip, Mahi Mahi fingers and the thai kaboom shrimp. The food was good but the crispy pita type chips perfectly complemented the fish dip which added a uniqueness to the meal. One of the bartenders was shucking those mega oysters in front of us which added to the experience. Live music began and consisted of a 'one man band' named Jamie who had a shiny trumpet, microphone and a digital song list generated on an IPad. He was fun and took song requests, although his voice and musical skills were questionable. Unfortunately, all of the tap beers were not available due to unknown reasons, but the bartender, Ed, found a few great craft beers in cans and bottles from the cooler. Was in the mood for fresh seafood. Was not disappointed with the food. Unfortunately- they only had 1 brand of Pinot Grigio from their wine section that showed about 4 others. We went to an early morning breast cancer walk and we're looking for a spot to grab a brunch early. We came across Tin Fish. Our server greeted us as we entered- we were the first people there. To my surprise they had a solid brunch menu. We were a group of 5 and everything-drinks and food- came out quickly to us. They had some good 90s tunes in the background playing so we stayed for a while. Our server made sure to check on us frequently. I had the regular breakfast which was a good portion size. My mother and I had lunch here a few months ago. We were celebrating her birthday and we enjoyed everything. Lobster Bisque and New England Clam Chowder were both excellent. The Hush Puppies (served with honey butter) were a bit overcooked but still very good. The Clam Strips appetizer was the perfect portion for my mother, and she loved them. The chef made me Baked Clams (not on the menu), and they were worth the wait. I decided to order six and I ate them all. They were that good! A nice surprise was the beautifully plated Key Lime Pie they sent out for my mom. I'm not a fan, but their version was scrumptious. Our server was excellent! I forgot his name, but he was very attentive and chatted with my mom, and that made her feel special. Very relaxed vibe, with lots of Fulton New York fish market decor with a few Long Island fishing towns thrown into the mix. Fun atmosphere. Price points are fair for the fresh seafood they serve. I think my six baked clams were eighteen dollars. Fully justified as they are not even on the menu and were loaded with fresh clams and very little filler. If you ask nicely and the restaurant isn't packed, the chef will make you anything as long as they have the ingredients on hand. They have a full bar and are closed on Monday. I absolutely love this place. The food is insanely amazing! I have been coming here since it opened. The owners are all so friendly and kind. They always walk around and check on everyone. The seafood is always fresh and delicious. I get the tuna poke appetizer as my meal. It is literally my favorite meal of all time. It has a nice refreshing ginger soy balsamic sauce on the field greens and tuna. They make homemade pita chips which come hot and delicious. Today we tried the kaboom shrimp and the drunken mussels as well. Both of which were absolutely incredible. Huge portion of mussels that were so flavorful and tender. The kaboom shrimp was lightly fried and had a very zesty delicious sauce which we enjoyed. My fiancé had the fried grouper sandwich which was crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked inside. Let's just say that my husband and I haven't been this happy with our meal in a very long time. This place was absolutely delicious. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. We got the ceviche and it came with the best chips, they were addicting. The tacos were so tasty and a great balance of fish and toppings. My husband loved his fish too and stated the vegetables made a great addition. My son didn't leave not one fish nugget. We were all so happy with our dishes. Me and my family visited this location since we always pass by. I wanted to give it a try. Restaurant was kind of empty. We ordered some drinks. I ordered a bloody Mary and it was not good. My wife ordered a soup and it had no taste. We immediately told the waiter she took it back and she even said that they had changed the previous recipe. We ordered our dishes and the wait time we lasted like 30 minutes to get our food when the food arrive. It was not all that they could have done a better job. The nice part was that they had a live guy with a saxophone playing with the music . I haven't been back to this place since my last horrible experience about a year and half ago or maybe longer. We really wanted oysters for Mother's Day so we decided to just order them to go from here and once again we were disappointed. The lady who answered the phone for our order was super unfriendly and sounded miserable. I asked how much for a dirty dozen she gave me the price, I asked how long and she gave me the time. I placed the order and my husband went to get it and got half a dozen and said the lady once again was unfriendly and not helpful. Apparently she did not hear my order which was quite simple. Tin Fish is one of the best fresh fish spots in town! I've had the ahi tuna, salmon, grouper, and snapper, and all were super fresh tasting and perfectly seasoned. The servers are always friendly and attentive. I also really enjoy their ceviche appetizer and the corn bread they bring out is to die for. Came for lunch with my mom and we both enjoyed it. My mom was in the mood for seafood. It was a first time for us both. I wasn't hungry so only ordered the fish dip. It was good. Ok why is isnt this place being talked about more. Today was our date night and my turn to pick where to eat. A friend mention this place so we figured we would give it a try. When we first arrived it was a bit empty which made me nervous but I figured it was because the weather was a bit crappy. We started with the oysters and drinks and boy or boy were we excited. The oysters were absolutely to die for, they were soft, plump and meaty. The horse radish was freshly grated and gave it just enough kick. We loved them so much we ordered three half dozens all different variety's. For our entrées, we ordered the shrimp appetizer and the ribeye steak with sweet potato fries. Everything was absolutely fantastic. Steak was cooked to perfection and those shrimps were out of this world. It was enough for both of us to eat and be full. Food was amazing, we had the mixed fish seafood combo. It came with garlic buttered veggies and one piece of salmon. One piece of mahi and about 3-5 pieces of shrimp. All were delectable. We also had the seafood Rueben. And let me tell you!! Outstanding food quality and fast service. There was a lady with red hair there, she brought so much energy and a high standard of service! I've always walked pass Tin Fish on the way to Doris Market and noticed it's always busy and lively. Finally I stopped in for dinner on a weeknight and though it was only 3 tables full, the food and service were great. I love seeing the history of the restaurant on the walls and having the servers explain the menu in detail for a first timer. I really liked being able to see the fish I order before they cook it. I started with their famous fish taco. It was loaded with lightly breaded fish pieces and veggies with this delicious sauce on a warm tortilla. I'm usually not a big taco person but this one has me wanting to come back for more. I also got the appetizer dual pot with clams and mussels. Super fresh and the garlic butter wine sauce it was stewed in was amazing. I took it to go so I could boil some linguine with it. It comes with garlicky toasted baguette pieces and just the bread is phenomenal. Crunchy on the outside, soft in the center and topped with fresh minced garlic. The fried whole fish we selected was a yellowtail and the smallest they had for 2 people was 2.25 lbs. It was pretty hefty but after it was fried, it wasn't as much as we thought. Delicious FRESH seafood! The fried snapper with the Asian sauce is to die for! I've taken so many of my friends to try it with me and recommend this place to many more! Last time I reviewed this restaurant was 7 years ago, and since then, they have about doubled in size and added an outdoor deck. It continues to be a great neighborhood seafood restaurant, not too big and welcoming. The quality of the food is still very good with a nice selection of fish and shellfish. Everything is super fresh and service is friendly and fast. They also have a good size bar area with a few large TVs. And you can always count on finding a few local craft beers in their menu. My new favorite dish is their salmon burger. You can get it grilled or fried (I like it grilled), it is served bun-less and on a bed of coleslaw. It is delicious! read more

We went to Tin Fish for the first time because we had a coupon for a free sample of their fish on slaw, and their online menu looked great. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the hostess and owner. First we took advantage of their Happy Hour $5 drinks. We gave the coupon to our waitress, and she brought us two samples - cod on slaw and shrimp on slaw. Both were delicious! For our entrees we ordered mahi tacos with sweet potato fries and mixed seafood pasta. Everything was delicious! The pasta had a generous amount of well-prepared seafood and a yummy red sauce, and the sweet potato fries were covered with a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar that really enhanced the flavor. The portions were large, and we had enough to take home for another meal. Our waitress, Jessica, was incredibly rude and seemed totally uninterested in serving us. She rushed away from our table as quickly as she could and didn't check in once after taking our order. We ordered a dozen oysters (about $40) and two beers, and it took 25 minutes just for the beers to arrive and for someone to check the oysters. To be fair, the Blue Point oysters were absolutely delicious, and the beers were cold and enjoyable. But the poor attitude and lack of basic hospitality made us decide not to order anything else and move on to another restaurant for the rest of our evening. I even called ahead to ask about their happy hour offerings, only to find out when we arrived that happy hour is only at the back bar, and oysters aren't even listed on the menu--strange for an oyster and clam bar. In short: great food, awful service. At $63 for oysters and two beers, I expected more effort and at least a hint of friendliness. Disappointed. read more

Per the receipt, $1.75/lb at 44 lbs. I mean the math maths. I was taken aback, questioned the waitress and she said that she had verbalized that the fish was the smallest she had available. Intimating that I should have picked up on these lil hints & clues.....ok. I tipped her well and spent about $130 on my evening. Much more than planned for a lil Friday night out. Our server came to gather our empty appetizer plate and asked me what did I order...... I was so out of it my boyfriend answered for her. Then I asked how long would it take, she said it shouldn't take long it's only fish and tacos lol I was like girlllll we've been waiting for our entree for almost an hour now. Had not been in nearly two (2) years then found myself here at SUNRISE location of Tin Fish seafood joint on Saturday night 5/19/2024. Walking in towards the bar area a young hostess at Door called me "Love." My personal preference is not to be called that- ha ha!- by young ppl. working in restaurants but I hear it constantly these days so I think it is the rage. About to sit at a bar stool and bar tender confusedly looked my way asking "Can I help you?" I informed her I was gonna' get something to eat and she says "ok." But why would she seemed confused if a customer strolled in? A second or two later, once I was on my stool, a young male barback holding 3 clear 1/3 pans (empty pans) banged them down right in front of me very hard on the bar to the beat of music oblivious as to whether a customer would want that done where they were seated. Around that time Entertainment- musician performing that night- started playing the trumpet seemingly in my left ear. No sign of the bartender- who wasn't trying to take my drink order- so I thought it was already time to go so I departed. On the way out I told the Hostess "I can't stay." She said "okay, Love." Second time here and we love it. Met a friend for an early dinner on Friday night at six. We decided to sit inside. Stephanie was our waitress (There is also a manager and her name is Stephanie and she is fabulous) and she could not have been nicer. We had the kaboom shrimp, the small salmon platter dinner and the mahi tacos. They were all delicious and we could not have been happier. Stephanie treated us to a piece of key lime pie for my friends birthday and she also gave us samples of a fabulous dessert that I cannot remember the name of but it is basically cream layered with different berries.
