Serving break, lunch, and dinner. It's all soooo good! Ackee YES! Callaloo ... I love it as long as it doesn't have okra mixed in Food (boil green banana and yam (dumplings too but I never had those) Soup warms me nice with the proper amount of spice Fried dumpling that make my mouth water because I gotta be good til carnival. From the outside not much of anything. You walk through the doors and it's all dark colored wood with a small dining. Most people are taking out food but plenty of space to relax as you fill your belly. Walk up to the counter and just start pointing at everything I want. Even when you say small, it's not a true small. I normally make 2 meals and a snack out of the serving sides so don;t worry if the cost seem just a pinch higher than others around. Best Authentic Jamaican food I have had since I've been in FL. The customer service was great! The young ladies were very accommodating for me and my children, although the set up isn't really made for small children because they only have high top tables. But my family and I were treated very kind and when I food came it was amazing! I've been eating there 3 days in a row because their food is that delicious. Now I will admit the area isn't my kind of comfortability but the food is worth every visit and the prices are great as well! It's nothing like having great food that doesn't cost a fortune! I've had plenty expensive Jamaican food that is either very Americanized or just plain out nasty on top of rude employees. This place is nothing like that. And they have great customer service! It's a WIN WIN! ‍ extra bonus, they sell Jamaican beverages and beer and wine as well. You can definitely eat good and drink good. read more

I ordered the brown stew chicken, based on yelp reviews. Horrible the best part of the meal was the sweet plantains & the Kola Champagne that saved me from chocking on that dry food. This is one of, if not the best Jamaican restaurants I've ever visited, and I've visited many. Being a bank manager, I'm expected to visit all the business establishments in my market. I can say it was an extreme pleasure to have found this gem. My boss and I were out prospecting on Friday, and stopped in. Due to the interaction with the young lady at the register, whom we later discovered was the owner's daughter, we decided to have there. On top of the great customer service, which the she jokingly said was "Chick-Fil-A style", the quality and taste of the food were off the charts. The high chairs and tables built from mahogany provided the setting of an establishment you would expect to pay at least five times what they charge here. I even had to return and order a to-go to take home later in the evening. This is now my new lunch spot. read more

Spent $20 on a large oxtails . I found it weird that the food came from the back wrapped up already. usually people show your food before its wrapp it up .I got home opened it up and it was 2 pounds of rice and 4 peices of oxtails . smh read more

I had the oaxtails and they were delicious. The rice was fluffy and the gravy was flavorful.

I like the place. Great authentic JAMAICAN food. Typical Jamaican staff with the typical Jamaican persons attitude. Stew peas and chicken soup on Wednesday's are my favorite. I work in a phsyician's office and we are lucky enough to have reps who bring us lunches. We get Mama's Kitchen catered by our rep Reggie who is obviously our favorite for bringing such amazing food! Everything i have tried from here is so delicious and cooked with real love. The oxtail is cooked perfectly, with full meat pieces, not just fatty little things. The curry chicken is again delicious and my 2nd favorite to the oxtail. The jerk chicken has just enough spice to leave your lips tingling and is cooked so perfect it literally falls of the bone. The bread is the best for sopping up the leftover sauce. The salad is always crisp and fresh. To put it plainly...I LOVE MAMA'S KITCHEN and it's a good day when we have it for lunch :) read more

Staying in the area for a short visit, while walking I found this location. I only had a small red bean soup, but it was wonderful, full with all the ingredients that makes excellent soup. The spices were not overwhelming. I highly recommend this location. read more

Mama's kitchen breakfast was very disappointing. I had okra and salt fish with boiled food. It was swimming in oil. Not a place for people who are health conscious. Never order coffee from there since it was made of powdered cream and Nescafé single pack with white sugar. They have removed authentic from the Jamaican experience of a good meal. read more

Ok so I was visiting Fort Lauderdale for a few days. I really wanted to get my fill of some 'real' Jamaican food so we ventured to Mama's Kitchen (afters an after thought bc the first place we went to was CLOSED at 4pm on a Monday!@!@). We you first arrive at this burners it's in a very little old plaza next to a lauded mat. I hesitated, but my aunt assured me it was really good. Well I went inside and the small, quaint establishment was cozy. I forget for a min that the outside made me tilt my head to rhe side and say humm. LoL. Anyway, that day I got the curried goat, rice &peas, and the Monday soup (peas soup). When I say I was stunned by the flavor, the sufficiently satisfying portion. I could have only prayed for more room on my stumpy just to sit there and continue trying things off the menu. We were served by a very sweet young lady that made sure we were satisfied with our order. Everything was absolutely fantastic. I went back 2 more times. Had the curry goat again (this time it was a little too spicy for me) it was again delicious, day 3 I had the oxtail OMG I could have had double serving but I was stuffed. So stuffed that I had ordered a soup to go and forgot all about it until I was at the airport lol. So I went my aunt back to get it and enjoy it for me.. they gave it to her without any problems. This place is a good find. I will absolutely be back on my next trip. read more
