Once again, we're on the hunt for doubles! I was a regular customer at Singh's Roti shop in queens NY and was unaware they have Florida locations. Walking into this restaurant was like stepping into a doubles stop in Trinidad. The decor, music, smells all brought back memories of my time there. The space is large and spacious and very well kept. Looking at their menu, they have great weekly lunch specials all for about $8.00 with weekend specials. The doubles were good. From the moment we walked in, it was pure island love. The staff greeted us with the warmest welcome and treated us like family from jump. The owner came over, broke down the menu with pride, and even made sure my wife could customize her order exactly how she wanted it. It's that kind of care that caught my attention. The food? Absolutely incredible. We were told to relax, take a seat, and the food came straight to us, hot and full of flavor. They checked in, laughed with us, and made us feel right at home. The ambience was on point with sweet Caribbean music pumping, real West Indies energy in the air. They were even thoughtful enough to check if the music level was good for our kids, which says everything about their heart. Honestly, it felt like we stepped out of Florida and got teleported straight to the islands. My wife was smiling ear to ear, the kids were doing their little dances, and my belly was happy, plus I had food to take home because the portions are generous. Went here for lunch after a few appointments. Place was much larger than expected; plenty of seating to host a large party. Soca music was playing while the tv's were on a soccer game. In the back near the counter was full bar sitting area. The young man that placed my order was very polite and patient as I ordered for the first time. I ordered a goat, a conch and a regular double along with a bake and salt fish. Everything came out hot and fresh. I decided to have a few bites before I left and was given a plate and utensils with the WiFi code. I sat with some of the regulars jamming to the music on my laptop and before you know it an hour had passed. Everything was amazing; full of flavor and just enough spice . If I had to pick a favorite it was the bake and salt fish. I'll be back to I try an actual meal next time because if this is what they put together for simple quick bites I can only imagine an actual meal. read more

Just the fact that they have a vegan roti was absolutely great. I loved my food. Caution: Trinidad hot sauce will put a fire in your mouth and later somewhere else, so make sure you know what you're getting as far as spice level. Very, very reasonable prices with large portions. Really enjoyed the breads here and the pickled mango/potato chutney which I identified as "vegetable or unknown origin" to the lady that served me. Shout out to the staff for being friendly and knowledgeable. My friend really enjoyed his meal as well. It's a large restaurant with plenty of options and some baked goods as well. Located in the Oakland Shopping Center, this large restaurant definitely has the feel of the West Indies with such a casual and relaxing vibe. After overlooking the menu, I greeted a friendly male employee and placed an order for a double with tamarind & cucumber chutney and trini style Chinese chicken with lo mein and fried rice. Watching the steady flow of people coming in automatically told me that the food here was good, such as: * Roti meals/various roti shells * Doubles/aloo pie/pulorie/various bakes * Lunch specials/specialty items/vegetarian dishes There's also homemade sweets, juices, ice cream, split channa, Caribbean beverages, local & imported beers, and cocktails. Prices are reasonable and they cater. My food was brought to me and I couldn't wait to partake. I started with the double which was very good. The bara had a nice texture and the flavors of both chutneys with the curried channa was delightful, but the most enjoyable dish for me was the Chinese chicken with lo mein and fried rice. The fusion of Chinese and Trinidad flavors absolutely blew my mind, and the chicken was tender and flavorful...wasn't too peppery. Singh Roti Shop did not disappoint. I went specifically for the doubles, and they were amazing. I ordered one plain doubles with slight pepper and one with conch. The conch doubles was hands down the better of the two, full of flavor and absolutely delicious. My only small note is that I only got one bara with the conch, so I had to use a fork to scoop up the rest. Honestly, it was so good I didn't mind at all. Still worth every bite. I grabbed a slice of pone to go, and it was the perfect way to end the meal. I was sitting there jamming to soca music while eating, which made the whole experience even better. Really nice Trini food place! We ordered a few things which included doubles, Veggie plate (came with amazing dal and rice, bodi, chana, and aloo). Food was good overall. The place was empty and we were the only ones on a Tuesday evening. However, we did see a lot of take-outs during our stay there. Place was a little noisy with all the Soca music playing, but that did not bother us at all. Would definitely recommend for anyone who like Trini food! read more

Was so nice, I went twice! Took a friend that never had Trini food before, so I'm glad that her first experience was at Singh's Roti delight. We tried bake and shark, doubles, curry goat roti. Curry chicken bust up shot, corn soup, cassava pone and current rolls. Oh lets not forget the polourrie! Everything was nicely flavored, not spicy ( the way I like), but my friend, could not do spicy at all, so it was most enjoyable for her. Of course I added pepper sauce to mines ( true Trini ). The staff was very friendly and helpful. They allowed my friend to taste the curry chicken, she loved it! The next evening I found myself in the same area, thought I'd stop by. I wanted to give them a 3 star based on the food. Had the curry a few times and it's beyond mild. No seasoning, still waiting for the curry flavor and no spice. Disappointed is an understatement. I bypass Singh's to go to another establishment because they are a hit or miss. Consistency is what brings customers back and they have not been consistent with their doubles, roti and veggie dishes. The place was spotless inside, and we were warmly greeted by the owner, Praveen, who was absolutely lovely. We ordered doubles with pepper, dhal roti with a mix of veggies (channa, pumpkin, potato, green beans, and spinach), plus some fudge for dessert. Everything was so fresh and flavorful--the roti came out warm, the doubles were perfectly made, and the sweets were the perfect finish. On top of the amazing food, the customer service stood out. After going to Joys and being disappointed we decided to give this place a try. We walked into this huge restaurant with plenty of seats and tvs all around playing the latest Olympic Games. The guy taking our order was pleasant and had patience with us. We looked at the menu to order and convinced ourselves to give the pholouries with tamarind sauce and saltfish bake a try. The sailfish bake was good just a bit toooooo salty 8/10. The pholouries were well seasoned and the tamarind sauce was nice and not too sweet 9/10. Next time I'll try the doubles!! read more

Stopped in today because I was craving a roti. It was my first time checking this spot out because I had heard that they were good from Facebook and some other social media outlets. The prices are cheaper than other spots that sell roti and they give you a lot of food compared to other spots. I had the boneless curry chicken dhalpuri roti. It was good, slightly under salted. I got one of the mango passionfruit juices and it was soooo freaking good. I haven't tried the peanut punch yet, but I'm sure it's also amazing. I also got one doubles just for a snack, but it tasted like it had pepper in it and I asked for none so I took a few bites but didn't finish it. It also had the tamarind sauce and the cucumber slaw on it. I like the cucumber slaw, but not the tamarind sauce so I have to remember next time to be specific about what I want on it. Maybe that's the baseline, but it was a bit too much for this American Trini gyal, lol. The ambience is nice, gives you that laid-back island vibe like other comparable spots. My family and I shared the most delicious meal here! We were warmly greeted, the staff were so nice and accommodating. Customers were hanging out at several tables in the large dining room, sipping on drinks and enjoying the nice Soca music pumping through the speakers. I had a veggie roti, bussup and swapped the green beans for shrimp for a small up-charge. Washed it down with a cold Mauby. My hubby had a goat roti. They were good but I didn't care for the sweet sauce, I think it might be some tamarind type sauce. I prefer spicy over sweet. For main entrees I had the curry chicken and my date had the duck. IMO it needed some salt bad. The flavors were there but needed something to bring them out. The chicken was a bit dry. The chick peas with roti was delicious. Visiting Sing's Roti Delight, the interior is very spacious and the service is friendly. We had these solo sodas mine was kola champagne and it tasted like cherries. I don't normally drink soda but you have to try it, it s so good. We ordered doubles which is a fried bake bread with chickpeas it's a nice vegetarian dish. It has cucumber inside for a unique flavor. I really enjoyed the double it was a home run. I'd recommend for anyone looking for a vegetarian option to eat for a snack. I had Pulorie and it was absolutely delicious it's like a fresh backed dough you can dip in this delectable sweet sauce called chetni. For the dessert I had their homemade coconut ice cream and it was out of this world! The price was great and you have to get the ice cream and try it for yourself! My quest for delicious Trini/ Guyanese food directed me here, to Singh's Roti Delight. We ordered the roti plate and doubles - to go! The food was very tasty. The channa double had a good mixture of spicy, hot, and flavorful (request hot/spicy sauce on the side for non spicy lovers). In full transparency, I thought the double dough was best at Tabanka, but Singh provided a more flavorful Channa base (in my opinion). The crunch from the cucumber topping paired with the tamarind (sweet) and spicy topping was delicious! The roti wrap was good, however we didn't know to order the paratha roti. Instead, we received the dhal roti chicken wrap and, we found the dhal roti wrap a bit dry (perhaps due to transport), but very flavorful. We'd definitely specify the paratha roti moving forward. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The interior was clean with a few monitors overhead. Expect a festive experience with good Trini (not Jamaican) food, and you'll be sure to enjoy! We were recommended to come by here for the doubles. They have many other Caribbean foods and drinks for sale here too. You can eat in , take it to go or have food catered. They play Caribbean music overhead, like a lot of other Caribbean restaurants. We ordered without hot sauce, but they gave it to us with hot sauce. They were taking a long time to make just a couple of doubles at first, and it was not busy in there at all at the time. Then they got the order right, and my husband really liked the doubles. This review is real deal. This is my first time trying this and let's just say I'm in love and was full. I was so shocked. The texture was fear, and seasoned great too. My husband and I chose the shrimp and conch as were pescatarians. The conch was cooked different and was good and I say this because I have had conch almost 3 different ways. Came here with my boyfriend after our gym session was looking for some Caribbean food. I remember one time my coworker bought me a double from a roti place, but I don't remember exactly where she went to get it. And I saw this place along 441 we decided to go and give it a try. This place is huge they have multiple seating areas very clean TV screens for entertainment they also have a bar with beer cocktail drinks and soft drinks. I had the boneless curry chicken platter which came with garbanzo beans roti style and potatoes. I visited Singhs Roti in Lauderhill FL on 12/1/23 Curry is a 10 delicious and plenty of flavors. I would say best curry in Miami -Broward Roti - Buss up Shot -3 Heavy and stuck together almost gooey . I would say the roti maker is not Trinidadian . Or need to get some roti making classes . Carib beers could not even save the roti fiasco. Vibe is nice and everyone is friendly . Honestly the only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because I came last night and the service was good and quick along with being good food and my correct order. I wish I could say the same about my experience today. I came in at 12:25, had my order taken and paid for at 12:33 and didn't leave with my food until 12:56. I specifically asked for no pepper in any of my items, but as soon as I took out my aloo pie, I could see and smell the pepper. I despise the fact that they don't prepare your food before you pay nor do they have it set so you can walk through your order being made, as they do at almost any other roti shop. This type of set up might work when you have no customers but even with 2 in store customers and call in orders, it crumbles. I've worked in a roti shop so I feel like I have extra insight into how the procedure goes and it was just...not there at this location. The gentleman who finally got around to preparing my order was moving like a snail and when I was trying to explain to him that I didn't want beans or spinach in my veggie dish, he looked like I was bothering him with the information. I've never seen someone make doubles as slow as I watched and get it wrong. On top of that, when I reminded him that I had two aloo pies, he checks the ticket like if I don't remember what I ordered, and then SLOWLY goes back to the kitchen. I asked if it had tamarind sauce (sweet sauce) which was literally the ONLY thing I wanted on any of the items and he said no, but he'd give me a container with it. Again, the entire process for taking and fulfilling orders is trash. If you have a clear window for people to see their food being made, let them do so and instruct you how they want their food made, it's not some clandestine process. I haven't eaten my roti yet due to the fact that now I'm having to rush like crazy to get to my next appointment due to this entire process for 6 doubles, 2 aloo pies, and a veggie dish with roti taking over half an hour, but I know the aloo will be trashed due to the pepper. The doubles don't have tamarind, but rather the cucumber slaw thing that I DIDNT ask for, so that's not even tasting right. All in all, if they're empty or about to close, or you have over half an hour to wait on the simplest order, sure come here. Otherwise, just find somewhere else that'll hopefully be quicker and more organized. read more

This is the best Trinidadian restaurant that I've ever eaten at!!!! All the different types of roti, doubles and shrimp wontons deserve a Michelin Star....no cap.
