When I mentioned this to Melissa the waitress her reply was "if you told me this earlier I could have done something about it"! That was not necessary to say to a customer. We have been here multiple times, and they are ALWAYS consistent. The food is amazing, the staff are so loving, and the vibe is just perfect. We genuinely love sitting in the bar area and connecting with the servers and owner. The owner is very hands on, and he shows passion in his food. I am not one that usually leaves a poor review (look at my history), but we chose this place because after 308 reviews it had a 4 star rating. I honestly have no idea how that happened. The meal started off pretty well--our Kaboom Shrimp and hush puppy appetizers were quite tasty, but sadly both the food and service very quickly went down hill thereafter. My cup of New England clam chowder was simply NOT like any New England chowder I have ever had before--and not in a good way. It definitely had a strange twang to it, and I ended up sending it back. If only we had stopped there! A couple of us ordered the grilled Mahi and shrimp, which was paired with vinegar based slaw and steamed vegetables. Strike one, strike two, and strike three! The Mahi was Sahara Desert dry, the coleslaw was far too sweet for a non-dessert item, and other than an over abundance of garlic the veggies were simply uninspired. To top it off, the side of fries ordered by one of our party members never made it to the table after we asked for them twice, and once the waiter finally realized it he asked US if the fries ever made it--I would think our waiter should have taken a little responsibility to see to it that the fries were delivered. Can't rate the food but service sucked. We waited for a table for 30-45 minutes which was fine. Once seated, the reception gave us waters and the menu. She said our server will be there shortly. Went with the wife last nigh for our Saturday Date Night and this place is amazing. Super cool looking and the vibe is perfect. Everybody in the restaurant from the staff to the customers were having fun. That pretty much guarantees good food and good times. You want fish-they got plenty: fried, grilled, broiled, steamed I felt like Bubba Gump was going to walk through the door himself. Found this place by accident and it really was a pleasant surprise. We came to this shopping center for dim sum but stopped by here to look at the menu. Yelp served me right again! On a whim today, decided to try something new. Came to this spot for an early dinner, which happens to be right by my house ... because of the Yelp reviews of course! We were not disappointed. This place is in the plaza with Doris's Market ... it's a small little spot but super cute! First off, let me say the staff was AMAZING!! They were all so sweet and very accommodating. We came in (around 5pm on a Saturday night) and we were seated right away. We were greeted and had our drink orders taken very shortly after we sat down. The owner was there (working by the kitchen) and even he greeted us as well. We ordered two appetizers. The Kaboom Shrimp (which is like your traditional "bang bang" shrimp elsewhere) and the hush puppies. I ordered the grilled, blackened shrimp platter and my boyfriend ordered the fried cod fish sandwich with fries. We had our appetizers within 5 minutes and our food probably about 3 minutes after that. The food was VERY good and tasted very fresh! I was surprised when we asked how long they had been opened & one of the waiters told us 2 years .... we had never heard of them until we did a search on Yelp today. I'm so excited Tin Fish is in my neighborhood, and that I finally stopped in to try it out!!! Everything about my dinner was great! I can't wait to go back and try another dish. Tin Fish has a great looking, large menu of seafood selections (including frog legs!!!), but I decided on one of today's specials - the grouper sandwich ($12.99). It's been a few years since I had grouper anywhere, and my meal did not disappoint. The grouper filet was the perfect size for a sandwich, was wonderfully seasoned, and grilled to flakey perfection. The kaiser roll it was served on was soft and delicious. The fish had yummy tarter sauce and lettuce on it. I really love a simple fish sandwich and they did it perfectly. It came with crinkled fries (again perfectly seasoned) and cole slaw. I wasn't crazy about the cole slaw, but I'm pretty picky about my slaw so it didn't impact my rating of the meal. I have a feeling that I will become a regular at Tin Fish. I've waited years for a good, neighborhood fish/seafood restaurant to come to the Plantation area. It's finally here!!! They were kind enough to offer us a sample of their Atlantic Cod which comes with tartar sauce and slaw, minus the slaw and tartar sauce the fish was good., She ordered the Fish & Shrimps which comes with slaw and bag crinkle fries. I had the Red Snapper & Fries. The Snapper was delicious as was the Cod, but the fries were disappointing and if you're gonna season them, season ALL of them don't just toss some seasoning over a few fries. Like I said you can get Fish & Chips almost anywhere, but make your fish & chips stand out by serving it with REAL hand cut fries and couple of hush puppies (not included) which is usually the norm. What an amazing discovery right in my backyard! So I've kept my eye on this place for some time now and finally decided to give it a try. I am so happy I did because this place was amazing. They have lots of cool decor that made me feel like I was dining on the pier. They had buoys, nets, and other fishing related decorations hanging from the ceiling. The staff was friendly and seemed very happy to be there. The head chef was at the bar greeting guests, serving people and talking to his employees. He seemed very personable and caring of his staff which is always a good sign. They had live music outside as well that also elevated the dining experience. They offered a healthy selection of local craft beer and other florida micro breweries. They had a display of fresh fish on ice at the bar including snapper, lobster, shrimp and oysters. We ordered hush puppies, kaboom shrimp and cod fish sandwich. The hush puppies were nice and crispy on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside. It came with a side of sweet butter that melted on pups, delicious! The kaboom shrimp was also nice and crispy. My cod sandwich came with seasoned fries and a side of coleslaw. It wasn't your traditional creamy coleslaw that you are used to. It was vinegary but sweet, quite frankly it was different but best coleslaw I had in some time. The bread for the sandwich tasted like Freshly bakes Cuban bread. It was sweet and buttery, crispy on the outside but soft on the inside.
