It got very loud with everyone talking on top of the 70s/80s music that was playing. There were ample staff to keep up with the surge, and our waitress was attentive and pleasant, although toward the end a little scattered. The decor is fun, if not a bit dated. Bathrooms are clean. We ordered a garlic bread appetizer which provided 8 pieces of bread. We ordered the Chicken Marsala, chicken Parmesan sandwich, chicken Parmesan with pasta, and chicken Olympia. I had a bowl of flavorful minestrone before my dinner, my spouse had a house salad. Unfortunately my coffee was cold, but it was bold and tasted okay. They don't list non-alcoholic beverages on the menu or their prices. My spouse ordered just a plain iced tea, but we were shocked when the bill came and we were charged for each of the refills ($10.50!). My daughter ordered a lemonade, which came in a cute branded bottle. It was very good, not too tart or sweet. After dinner, we each ordered dessert: Choco cake which has a cute little mouse on top, the orange revani which was extremely sweet, and the limoncello cake which was by far the best of the three with a delicate flavor. The servings of food were generous and we were impressed with the quality, especially the chicken. We could easily cut through it with a fork. The sauces were pleasant and not acidic. For the four of our meals (with leftovers) and the tip (and the insane charges for the iced tea) we paid $197, which I felt was somewhat reasonable. I just wish they were more upfront about their beverage prices and refill policy. Most restaurants don't charge for tea and coffee refills.

Thank you Papagallos, especially Kirsten, Rechelle, and Mary. Bonus: The food was delicious. Top Notch.

Three couples have owned the diner since 1961. We tried on a whim. From the outside, the diner has shiny steel sides, like you'd expect. The sign is vintage above the diner. Inside are booths and counter seating. The place was packed when we arrived, but the hostess found a booth for two quickly. The menu offers breakfast or lunch options. There is a daily menu with specials, as well. I selected a lobster croissant with fries off the special menu. Food came out fairly quickly. Our server was friendly and attentive. Water glasses were kept full. My lobster croissant sandwich was packed with big chunks of lobster claw meat. Other than a slice of lettuce, there were no seasoning, so the lobster was the star. The sandwich was excellent! The croissant was fresh and soft. The shoestring fries were crispy and hot. The lunch was excellent and at $18, a bargain. My cousin had a Monte Cristo which is a ham and cheese on French toast. The thin sliced ham was packed thick on the sandwich. She said her sandwich was delicious. There is a covered patio outside, but it wasn't opened during our visit. There is free parking on the side and in front of the diner. There is a step up into the diner, so I'm not sure that there is wheelchair accessibility. Lindy's is adorable, historic and has great food. Well worth a visit.

Bartender didn't impress. Not sure he was experienced. Give away was putting olives on martini containing grapefruit juice, not mention an even number of olives (bad luck). The menus were fancy and I ordered a shaved roast beef sandwich with au jus. Shaved roast beef was on par with Steak-umms. French fries were your typical bagged fries. All in all it was ok at best. Was hoping for a little more given the quality of the other restaurants in the area.

My partner had the short rib ravioli which was also excellent. We are whiskey/bourbon drinkers and the one thing that whiskey/burboun drinkers like in their old fashioned type drinks are single, large ice rocks and not the little broken ice chips that easily dilutes your drink. These are so easy to make yourself. Just buy an ice tray that makes them. The other thing whiskey/bourbon drinkers like in their drinks are the bourbon cherries and not just the plain maraschino cherries. Just two easy recommendations to elavate the experience. The staff was also very friendly.

I found this very helpful instead of some other companies we got quotes from that had complicated pricing. The food was surprisingly good and they were accurate at helping us estimate how much food was needed for our group size. We had some left over at the end and they even boxed it up for us to take home! They were flexible with our timing and were well staffed during the event. They gave us their back room all to ourselves. I would recommend using them for a small gathering of 40 people of less.

Most recently I got the Brendan's favorite which is a special including an omelet with feta. I love that they still give you a tiny juice - its so old school and is really the perfect size cranberry juice. They also offer fresh hot biscuits as an alternative to toast, which are soft and lovely. I also got an ice coffee. My husband got the eggs Benedict. Food was wonderful. The only pitfall was the sugar free hot chocolate listed on the menu was not available and rumor has, it hasn't been available for quite some time. They should just buy a box!!!! My husband was so excited when he saw it on the menu. I was tickled that we were seated in the older part of the restaurant as I hadn't eaten in there in years and when I was a kid I always felt like it was fancy. Our waitress was wonderful and all the food service was reasonably prompt. The pub also serves lunch and has an awesome sounding dessert list. I hope it gets to serve Keene for many more years.

Can't remember the last time we had fajitas! Most of the upscale Mexican restaurants in our…read moreneighborhood at home are too fancy. On vacation in New Hampshire and Vermont, we drove up to Keene for a casual dinner our 1st night out. The margarita menu, as you might expect from the name, is extensive; there was a time when I could drink them and I loved them! But then was not now. Tonight, hubs and I shared a 16-oz Modelo Especial that they had on draught. They served the full glass with a separate chilled glass, nice. I poured about half; I was driving, and there are several roundabouts to get into and out of town; it wouldn't be too safe if I drank the whole thing myself! Lol Before you order anything, server brings a good sized bowl of warm and tasty tortilla chips with a small bowl of good spicy salsa. We ordered the guacamole appetizer, a large portion on a plate with some fresh pico de gallo. You can get added jalapeños for no charge. Hubs doesn't do 'hot,' so I asked for the jalapeño on the side and got a little dish of slices. Yum with my guac and chips, and yum with my meal! We both ordered vegetable fajitas. These came out shortly after we got the guac, really too quickly. The 2-top table wasn't big enough to accommodate all the dishes! We were still eating guac and chips; a server brought out plates for each of us with: foil-wrapped warm tortillas (we chose corn instead of flour); a small scoop of guac; a pile of shredded cheese; a small scoop of sour cream; a bed of lettuce. Then he and our waitress each came out with a huge wooden board, on top of each was a pan still sizzling! Black beans, rice, and a ton of veggies! The usual onions & peppers, plus some mushrooms, corn kernels, and greens (kale? spinach? not sure). We hadn't had enough time to savor and finish the guac so we didn't want to give it up, but the table didn't have enough room for everything! We put half the remainder on each of our side dish plates in order to get rid of 1 dish. That wouldn't have been an issue if the timing was better, but we managed. Our beer glasses and our water glasses were also on the table, plus the first basket of chips and the small dish of salsa! That said, the food tasted freshly cooked and we enjoyed as much as we could possibly eat!

My first visit wasn't terrible, but it was obvious the bar was understaffed. That's a management issue, not a bartender issue. I stayed patient, but it took an incredibly long time to get any attention. The food was mediocre at best, but I wasn't expecting fine dining--just a decent meal and reasonable service. I decided to give them another chance a few days later because everyone can have an off night. This time it was a Saturday. The restaurant wasn't busy, and the bar had plenty of open seats. As I sat down, the bartender's greeting was, "I have a lot to do, so get comfortable." Not exactly a welcoming first impression. I tried to be understanding, but after sitting there for about 15 minutes without anyone coming over, I noticed someone who appeared to be the manager walking around without stepping in to help. At that point I decided it was time to leave. As I got up, both the bartender and the manager made eye contact with me, and neither made the slightest effort to acknowledge the wait, apologize, or ask me to stay. Looking back, I should have read the reviews before going. There are plenty of similar complaints, followed by the same generic management responses saying they're sorry and will do better. Based on my experience, those responses feel like lip service. If the same problems keep happening, it doesn't seem like there's much interest in actually fixing them. There are too many restaurants competing for people's business to treat customers this way. I won't be back.
