I had the best lobster croissant at this adorable and historic diner in downtown Keene! The diner is a Paramount constructed diney made in New Jersey in 1961 and moved to Keene. Three couples have owned the diner since 1961. We tried on a whim. From the outside, the diner has shiny steel sides, like you'd expect. The sign is vintage above the diner. Inside are booths and counter seating. The place was packed when we arrived, but the hostess found a booth for two quickly. The menu offers breakfast or lunch options. There is a daily menu with specials, as well. I selected a lobster croissant with fries off the special menu. Food came out fairly quickly. Our server was friendly and attentive. Water glasses were kept full. My lobster croissant sandwich was packed with big chunks of lobster claw meat. Other than a slice of lettuce, there were no seasoning, so the lobster was the star. The sandwich was excellent! The croissant was fresh and soft. The shoestring fries were crispy and hot. The lunch was excellent and at $18, a bargain. My cousin had a Monte Cristo which is a ham and cheese on French toast. The thin sliced ham was packed thick on the sandwich. She said her sandwich was delicious. There is a covered patio outside, but it wasn't opened during our visit. There is free parking on the side and in front of the diner. There is a step up into the diner, so I'm not sure that there is wheelchair accessibility. Lindy's is adorable, historic and has great food. Well worth a visit. read more

This place used to be on of our favorite places in keene to go but no longer the food was typical diner stuff but hated the uncomfortable crowed loud and cramped building and the outside wasnt much better so we would order for take out seeing as how this town sucks for breakfast food places now they tell us they dont take out anymore with this new crew on weekends so I guess its over for us will not be getting food from this place anymore. read more

Oh where to begin... I really wish Yelp would give me the opportunity to give negative stars. My wife and I came in for lunch, they took our order, and then NOTHING FOR 45 MINUTES. When we finally asked when our food was going to arrive our waitress condescendingly told us that they had to 2 large orders ahead of us and that the kitchen was really busy, like that's our problem. No apologies, just a bad excuse and waitress-splained how a diner kitchen works? I called and asked to speak with the manager, and got the same lousy excuse. No apologies, just more horrible attitude from them. The times we went before this were fine. Honestly, they are nothing to write home about. Just your typical diner fair, nothing special. We will no longer give this dump our business, and the next time someone asks me for a place to eat I'm definitely going to tell them anywhere but lindy's. I don't know about you, but if I go to a diner I am going there for the diner experience. I'm not expecting gourmet dining, elegant surroundings, or finely dressed servers. I'm expecting good food, cleanliness and comfortable seating, and efficient service: And that's exactly what you'll find a Lindy's Diner. The eating highlight for us when we popped in for breakfast was my partner's omelette. What made it stand out was the thinness of the outer egg. It was more like a crepe, than a pancake (if you know what I mean). That's the way we like an omelette, and how we make them at home. I had the half portion of the "Souther Benny" -- sausage gravy and a biscuit instead of English muffin & hollandaise. Either they mistakenly gave me the full portion, or the full portion is gigantic. Interestingly, the home fries look super boring. Little square potatoes that look like they have doing on them but paprika. Don't be deceived. Try them. They are deliciously seasoned and perfectly cooked. It was good but if I and known how they prepare their omelettes I would have gone that route. One final note: Out sever was awesome. I wish we wrote down her name so I could use it here. She was super busy, rushing around in a whirlwind, but had had a broad smile every time she stopped by our table and was super helpful and friendly the whole visit. Finally got a chance to check out Lindy's! Every time I walk past here on the weekends there's always a line for brunch which is a testament to their devoted followers. Lindsay's diner is a definitely worth a visit to this adorable diner in Keene. We stopped here on our travels from Vermont to Massachusetts. We sat in the adorable outside seating area that has greenery and flowers surrounding it to keep it quiet and quaint. On a Monday morning on the last day of June at 10 o'clock there was no waiting. The menu gave a good variety of breakfast choices, some standards and some unique to the diner. My husband chose a standard omelette but he chose to upgrade his toast to their HOMEMADE wheat toast. He commented more than once of how "awesome" that toast was. I enjoyed the avocado and tomato toast with added eggs on it....2 big slices of bread smothered with mashed avocado, each covered with 2 large slices of tomatoes, a fried egg on each slice and topped with slices of avocado. This toast was delicious. Needless to say I could only eat half and will enjoy the other half at home. The wait staff are prompt, attentive and pleasant. The place was clean and quiet. If I could give it six stars I would. Short wait was most definitely, truthfully would have waited damn near hours for the food we got. Menu has something for everyone, really appreciated the all day breakfast and lunch! Waitstaff was efficient, accommodating, and extremely pleasant. So Lindys closed for a bit as they have new owners. We were really looking forward to checking it out when it reopened. First, the good. They really did a lot of cleaning, much of the staff were kept, the booths were redone, the famous jukeboxes still in pllace, and all of the little things improved what was already a good atmosphere. The new menus were big and easy to read, but unfortunately the prices were crazy. Not on everything, but on alot of things. It cost the three of us over 30 dollars for breakfast. Dad and I both had the 2 eggs, toast, homefries, and bacon. Mom ordered an egg biscuit with home fries. We all had coffee. We asked our waitress for our bacon to be crisp, but it was limp and greasy. The homefries are frozen, not fresh, and mom said the biscuit was terrible. The toast was really the best part of it all. We had to wave down our waitress to get more coffee and even though mom told her she did not like her meal nobody even offered a discount or offered to fix it. The food was ok but for thirty dollars I want great. The sad part was we all left unsatisfied. I'm not sure if we will go back or not. read more

I'm not generally a fan of diners but this one executed pretty well. Between a 3 and 4 stars but the benedict was good enough I'll round up. Stuffed waffle - 3/5. Basic Belgian waffle, middle layer of strawberries and blueberries with cream cheese. Nothing that creative and some of the blueberries had gone bad but solid. Eggs benedict with avocado - 4/5. Wonderful hollandaise sauce that was rich without being overwhelming. The avocados were a great pairing. read more

The BEST breakfast! I had never been to Keene but met a friend and had breakfast at Lindy's this weekend. Needless to say, I'll be making the extra drive to come back for sure. Atmosphere: the atmosphere here is like no other! You're surrounded by the hustle of Keene while also having ample parking right in front of the restaurant. The inside is the classic diner feel, which I absolutely love. It's not easy to find that true classic diner these days. We are outside under the tent, which was the perfect touch on a rainy summer day. Food: don't even get me started on the food. SO GOOD. We sat down around 11:30 so had some breakfast and some lunch items. The waffles, homemade toast, sweet potato fries, Caesar salad wrap, tater tots, eggs and more were all cooked to perfection. We were all stealing from each other's plates because everything looked amazing. Did I mention the homemade toast.....TO DIE FOR. Staff: the staff here were so incredibly friendly, they made me feel like family from the second I walked in. The new owners really know what they're doing here! I asked for a booth and was refused to boothbecause I was only one person.when I asked again for the booth saying that there was no one there I was currently told that I could sit at a small table, but could not sit at a booth.
