We are so glad we went here today! My husband had a "build your own" omelette and said it was the best one he's had in a very long time. I had the blueberry pancakes that were to die for. Friendly staff, absolutely adorable inside and just an all round good relaxing experience. We're looking forward to our next visit. You should make reservations if you're stopping in on a weekend. The head chef puts out an amazing ab creative menu and options that keeps things fresh especially for events. Dishes so good I hesitate to mention one because you cant go wrong with any of them. A go to for an upscale brunch the bloody Mary's and mimosas are a cant miss option for in the city and the bakery case items are a must take treat. Would come here every day if I had the time. What a cute little place nestled in downtown Keene. Great atmosphere and the food was delish. Coffee was also very good. We were served quickly and our waitress was the nicest person ever. Went to Yellow Belle Cafe to try something new in the Keene area for breakfast on a Sunday. Yellow Belle Cafe is a newer spot easily found on Main Street in Keene, with a towards back of cafe coffee/bakery case for a quick stop in and go option and the main space devoted to table service seating. I had the build your own omelet with home fries, bacon and sourdough toast which was well cooked, filling and better than your average diner/breakfast spot. My wife had one of their signature dishes, Huevos Rancheros which was flavorful, though a bit spicy for her being someone that tends to go the mild level route (although I liked it as I love some heat). Rest of crew had some fruit, an egg and blueberry pancakes and all said their food was good. We had hot drip coffee, which was decent, but came in the worlds smallest cups and it wasn't clear upon ordering whether it was free refills for your $4 (which it was) and we had a few refills through the meal by our server- I would have drank more. Food came out with reasonable wait-they were busy. Overall impressions: 1) cuter cafe with variety of good breakfast (and brunch) options offering espresso, cold brew, baked goods, etc and better ingredients, all of which tastes fresh. 2) coffee mugs are way too small and due to this you are often left without coffee until server refills- would love to see a bigger standard size. 3) Cost-For 4 people with one of our party it was about $80 plus tip, which is steep considering portions, what was ordered and many add ons cost extra. If they adjusted down some of their items cost it could mean more people returning more frequently to be a bit more affordable, but clearly they are busy despite this. Bottom line is Yellow Belle Cafe is a nice addition to Keene and we'll be back, just not as often as we'd like due to cost. read more

Farmer's breakfast is delicious. Omelette's are great too. We liked everything so much we went back for coffee and donuts. We sat at the bar and Megan was the server/bar tender. She was terrific. I've been for breakfast many times. I just never think to do reviews. Breakfast has always been an amazing experience. The "brunch bestie" is my go to drink. The service is always stellar. We went tonight for their first dinner serving (moving from a breakfast/lunch place to dinner on Thursday Friday Saturday). We were impressed from beginning to end. The Brussels sprout appetizer was the perfect mix of sweet and savory My husband and had the meatloaf, delish. I had the coconut chicken. Tender, juicy and crispy. Visited YBC day after opening for breakfast. Great attention to detail meets you after walking through door in dining room to the left and pick-up orders to right. My second impression came upon seeing a podium for the host and then hearing a subsequent customer being asked if they had a reservation. Just setting the tone that this is not simply a breakfast joint. Interior vibe is really nice with bright interior, great banquette for seating, and a bar/counter for singletons. Service was attentive and the small coffee cups required the staff making frequent stops. Finally food was very good. Classic eggs benny that includes home fries was well done and tasty. Hollandaise leaned on the lemony side if that is an issue for you. My friend had breakfast tacos which featured avocado and looked like tostadas. We both were intrigued by the banana bread French toast but passed. Next time we can share an order. Finally I'll mention the vanilla bean glazed cake donut that I started out with. They have 4 kinds but were already out of cinnamon & sugar. The waitress specifically highlighted the pastry board which is close to a breakfast board I keep waiting to see other than a favorite spot on vacation in northern Minnesota. We stopped in the try this new spot late morning. Very cute inside, nicely decorated. We got grab and go coffee and food. The iced coffee was horrible, watered down and tasted low quality. This is an odd place. First time we've been to a typical breakfast/lunch joint that suggests reservations. Dropped in about 1:30 and they were already cleaning up. Maybe 7 or 8 patrons, and the hostess asked if we had reservations. And you're looking at Boston prices here (HUEVOS RANCHEROS for $19??) which in Keene, that seems like a stretch. $3.50 for a cup of coffee that was on the weak side. Our other order was a salad for $14. Food was ok, not out of this world, but $48 for a quick (because they close at 2) lunch is over the top. read more

Stopped in for pastry to go, was able to get parking on main street right in front. Service at counter was pleasant and capable. Looking around it is cute and I will stop back to see how the sit down experience is. The donuts and scones were very good. However, the Berry Fritters ($4 each) were not edible due to the grease which soaked into every pore of the final product. Now I can handle a little fat in my fritter fer sure, but this was fritter folly, a faux fritter, a fatastrophe of a fritter. We were excited to try out a new breakfast place since the Keene, NH area desperately needs one and especially based on the reviews. The need to have a reservation was a surprising and interesting approach but didn't bother us too much. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming - plus it's new and clean. Our server was very nice, engaging and clearly relatively new to serving tables. It took 7-10 minutes to get our coffee and water; then equally as long after for our order to be taken. (We noticed the same at most other tables) Drinks were served by handling the top rim of the cups where guests drink from instead of from the bottom or the coffee cup handles; the same happened when refilling water/coffee. Additionally, the overall service in the dining room was a bit chaotic; they must still be working out their 'systems' and procedures. Tables were a bit close together which caused our chairs to get bumped the numerous times servers or other guests went by. Regardless, everyone was pleasant, hence the 3 stars for service. For food we ordered the bakery board to share which arrived with 5 items: all of which were a bit dry and/or stale; 3 were delicious in flavor, the other 2 were bland. We would not order it again. For entrées we had the smoked salmon toast, the whipped ricotta toast, the classic eggs benedict and the huevos rancheros. The two toast entrees were just ok, with the ricotta one being better with interesting flavor combos and the salmon one being much better at another local spot. The eggs benedict had extremely bland hollandaise sauce which ruined it. The huevos rancheros were delicious but we would not order again due to the high price compared to the amount of food - the value is not there with the taste alone. It should come with home fries at the very least. The same goes for the pricing on the other 3 entrees - the value just isn't there. So overall, due to the high prices, the less than average food and the untrained service, we gave it 2 out of 5 stars....if there was the option to give 2.5 we would. At this point, we will wait a considerable amount of time to go back if at all. Paying almost $100 for breakfast, plus tip, just isn't worth it for us, especially since the food taste/value was below average and the service was lacking better etiquette. It's important to keep in mind we are eating out junkies! We love food experiences and we have 30+ years restaurant experience as servers, cooks and hostess/manager. So, needless to say our expectations are high comparatively and people reading this review should take that into consideration. We also understand the challenge of owning a restaurant on main street with the excessively high rents, etc., and still needing to make a reasonable or better profit. It's just not something we are willing to pay for unless the overall experience "knocks our socks off!" For breakfast, we'd rather eat at a "hole in the wall" where the food is delicious and plentiful, rather than pay high prices for location and atmosphere. Dinner is a different story, depending on the occasion; but the food/service still needs to be better than average regardless. read more
