We love the tiki docks and have been going for 2+ years but this new outdoor roof over the deck was a big mistake. They need to add back in the tiki straw roof over the bar, and the big TVs, and red lighting and get the tiki feel back under the new covered deck. I get it, more people can sit outside without being in the sun, but now the new lower roof deck area doesn't have that tiki vibe? So, please find a way to cover the bar and bring back the tiki feel to the middle of the deck vs just having a long covered deck. The owners are really investing in the place and the new docks and Zombie drinks are awesome. They just need to find ways to inject Tiki back to the outdoor patio. read more

Atmosphere - excellent. The restaurant is large, both inside and out. Located on a river, there are two patio levels that have a nice view. The lower patio has an outside bar with about 8 four tops (spaced comfortably apart with consideration of the Covid recommendations). There is music playing that is a little loud, but not so loud that a conversation can not be had. The upper patio has a similar number of tables and is a little more quiet. Service - very good. Our server was attentive and pleasant. Food - very good. The only negative with the restaurant is that the food menu is limited to a few salad options, a handful of burgers, a few other sandwich options and a few entree items. The drink menu is great. I had the Fish n Chips and it was absolutely huge, The fish was cod and it tasted fresh. There is more breading on the fried fish than I would prefer. Overall though it was pretty good. Overall Value - very good. The prices are reasonable, the food and drinks are very good. It is my understanding is that the menu will be expanded in the future. This is a new bar/restaurant on the Alafia river off 301. The place was packed. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. There are several outside decks with a large bar. They have a large drink menu and a happy hour from 3-6 pm. We tried the frozen rum runner and rum punch. Both were very good. There is live entertainment out on the deck. The food choices consist of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, entrees and tacos. We had the tiki wings, and peel & eat shrimp. For dinner we tried the shrimp fried rice and different soft tacos, such as shrimp, pork belly cod, and grouper. The food was good. The servers work hard at providing good service. There is a large parking lot. They have an elevator from the parking lot up to the main restaurant, because the staircase is large. read more

We made reservations early in the day and got a confirmation notification for 5 at 7:30 PM. We got to the restaurant and was told we can not make same day reservations and the wait was at least an hour and a half. We left and got about a block away and got a notification that our table was ready. I won't waste my time like that again. I was invited out for a birthday dinner here. Getting to the entrance was a little maze but I'll know for the next visit. There was a 45 minute wait fir a table outside. While we waited there was a small bee swatting issue. Our waitress was excellent, knowledgeable and attentive. There were 7 of us and she did really well. The food was also pretty good. A friend and I split the crab fries (not pictured) -- which were pretty good in flavor but was a little lack luster in presentation. As you'll see on the chicken, that's how the crab was placed on the fries with their house sauce (that actually taste like hot sauce mixed with some other stuff) but I like hot sauce so it was very tasty. I would have like more crab meat and I would have liked for it to stick to the food better. It was like crab meat crumbles -- not cute. We also got the crab cake sandwich was also tasty! Everything was tasty! MY BIGGEST ISSUE AND THE REASON I WILL NOT BE SITTING OUTSIDE BEFORE 6PM ARE THE BEES! They have a bee problem. It sort of felt like our table was the only one experiencing it or everyone else could've been playing it cool -- but there was sure bee hive somewhere near by. No less than 8 bees were swarming our table. Our waitress let us know that the bees usually go away when the sun goes down and she was right. They did leave once the sun went down but we'd been there for a while before the sun went down lol so we'd already been tormented by the bees. There was live music which was really fun and interactive. There was singer name Matthew Billor -- great voice. When we go back we want to experience the inside but it is definitely a nice place. Fabulous company, great vibe but truth be told ~ the service and food could have been better. Our server couldn't be bothered with us as we watched him spend all his time with another table. He even tossed a sauce cup of lemons on our table after overhearing my friend say she forgot to ask. Small positions of mediocre food that was very over priced. Missed opportunity to not serve pineapple fried rice in a pineal shell- huge disappointment for a small bowl of rice that I subbed out chicken for- $15. Happy hour and beautiful views. Perfect spot to visit and enjoy the Alafia river anytime of the day. This place continues to invest back into its business. Adding docks off the river for boaters to stop in and enjoy a refreshing beverage and bites. . Friend and I shared the coconut shrimp dinner and I enjoyed a high noon all while taking in the surrounding area and calm waterfront. Our bar staff was so quick and responsive. This was the first time at this location. I've visited the location in st Pete a few times and they really outdid their selves on this one. The gorgeous waterfall, fire tiki flames and fun decorations throughout. Makes this a fun place to visit and I'm sure beautiful in the evening. We were visiting family and Tiki came highly recommended. It was a fun afternoon. The food is good but not a culinary miracle. The service is adequate but not 5 star. The only 5 star observations was the tall manager who was doing everything from shucking oysters to bussing tables and running food and talking w every guest, including us. My family owns a small business so seeing someone care that much and work that hard is uncommon and every one of us in our party of 13 noticed. My favorite drink for sure but not the strongest. Lets get into these crab cakes...they are fire and the combination of flavors really set this dining experience off right! Too bad they dont have multiple hotsauce options not just Tobasco. Believe it or not the cocktail sauce is so strong it went well over the shrimp, mixed into the rice. I think one of the best things about this place is the ambiance and the outdoor seating. You feel transplanted into a tiki bar which has live music. What a way to start your day and have a nice lunch here with some great delicious food. I was just visiting here and my friends recommended this place. The grilled wings, corn and oysters were really tasty, fresh and hearty. We didn't make reservations to come here beforehand but we came early when they opened so we were able to sit outside. Our view was water flowing down a wall which was relaxing. The oysters are really fresh and man that grilled corn was delicious. I love wings and this place cooked them just right. You can watch sports from just about anywhere inside and also at the outside bar. Appreciate that the music wasn't loud. Perfect volume to not take away from the experience. Food: tacos are terrible, very dry. Everything about them from the tortillas to the filling are horrible. Wedge salad has the worst lettuce I've ever seen at a restaurant. I wouldn't feed it to an animal. Fries were decent. Didn't risk ordering anything else but I've heard it's bad. Left early to get food elsewhere. Drinks: don't order anything that contains juice. Whatever they use must be horrible quality, ruins the drinks. The Painkiller is one of my favorite classic cocktails. Theirs is the worst I've ever had. Couldn't drink it. Other fruity drinks were awful. That being said, I thought the watermelon margarita would have been a safe bet based on the ingredients but it was drowning in lime juice, which you have to be careful with when pairing with something as mild as watermelon. Couldn't taste the watermelon at all unfortunately. Another fail. Great garnishes, but they were the only plus. Pretty much everything we've eaten and drank here was inedible and undrinkable. Very disappointing. Service: bartender inside who introduced herself as Katie was super sweet and attentive. Unfortunately we really wanted a seat outside and decided to move. The tall blonde out there with short hair had a bad attitude the whole time, made us feel unwelcome. Can't believe this place closes so early. The decor here is Disney-esque, all bright colors and beautiful lights. It's really impressive inside and out, while the parking is bigger than Walmart. Our food was just mediocre, though, and service was eager but clueless. My blackened shrimp, cod and pork belly tacos were ok, but the soft wrappers were refrigerator cold instead of grilled hot as they should be. There were a lot of chips, but only enough salsa to cover 2 of them. My friends chicken salad was extremely bland and average. The side of pork belly looked more like bacon bits from a bottle. My other friends crab cake app was more appetizing, and ample with 3 instead of the usual 2. Our young male bartender had impressive tats, but zero situational awareness. However upon arrival the hostess was quite rid and seated us at a table that was empty however the bench and table top were covered in crumbs and greasy finger prints. I had to go back to her station and ask if someone could clean it. This only seemed to aggravate her. The entire restaurant area seemed dirty and unkept with food on the floors. Thankfully our waitress was very congenial and provided exception service. The drinks we ordered were very good and well balanced and the food while very good was presented very poorly. When you walk up to the front door there is a huge triangular wall that is a waterfall drip with fire tiki lights on all four corners. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with sliding glass walls to go between. The outdoors can get warm however they have so many fans it creates a wonderful breeze. Inside there are high ceilings with an open view of the kitchen. The colors are bright and cheery, it's very clean and well designed. It sits on the water with gorgeous views along with a boat docks so people can boat up as well, with a little sand area for children to play. Service: 5 As soon as you walk in the hostess is greeting you to ask if you'd like a table or open bar. As soon as you sit down they're are taking your drink order and going over the menu with the specials and house favorites. When I went to the ladies room, two of the waitress were in there and asked them how they like the place. They said it's great for local and people passing through. They said it can be very weather dependent which is understandable with how much of it is outside and love working there. They also gave me a few other places to try in the area. Great girls. Food: 5 The drinks are so fresh and ridiculously tasty filled with fresh fruit and sizes where 10-12 ounces. The salads looked amazing and have options for adding a grilled or blacked protein. The chicken wings were grilled which I have not had before and a little weary of but they were amazing, crispy large and coated with a Hawaiian BBQ sauce they was unique blend of savory and sweet BBQ served with a side of veggies and dipping options. Price: 5 For the price, the portions and food it was good. Drinks, apps and wings was about $40.00 before tip. We decided to sit at the bar which was pretty big with lots of tvs. It didn't take long before they called us but we decided to stay at the bar. Our waitress, Christina, was personable and attentive to us. The care of the staff members definitely made an impression. Food was ok. The Tiki Burger was VERY salty I could only eat half of it but I did enjoy our starter: Classic Hand Battered Chicken Tenders paired with their signature Pina Colada Honey Mustard. The sauce was very tasty and I did not hesitate to dip the crinkle fries in it too. The live music starred this young man who skillfully played the steelpan. We met some friends here for lunch, and it was pretty good. They have a large patio overlooking the river, and a descent inside. The service for a weekday lunch didn't seem that bad. She look short handed, but she was really good. Some food items were much better than others, but they were all good. If you like smoked fish, I recommend the smoky fish dip to start. It came with cucumbers and pork rinds. The cocktails were tasty and also very strong. We tried the fog cutter and the watermelon margarita. The watermelon on the margarita was a bit large for a garish but was sweet. I really recommend the grouper dinner. It had a lot of flavor and the mango salsa was delicious. Nice overwater atmosphere next to the river but sadly that's where the positives stop. Staff were nice but we didn't find them to be much better than a fast food restaurant. Certainly could have been more aware of what was (and wasn't) happening at the table. $12 Pina Colda arrived so late to the table it wasn't even consumed. (But still had to pay for it). Food was okay but more than half our party didn't enjoy the spicy flavors and didn't eat more than a few bites. Honestly I think this was a case of 'not our style' of food combined with medium level of service. It may say something when after a $280 meal we went to a drive-through on the way home.
