First visit was a Saturday at around 10:30pm. There was basically no one waiting to get in and plenty of empty tables so wondered why it took 15 minutes to be seated at a table. While we waited we went to the outside bar and chose a bunch of their specialty high priced drinks. I had the Blue Hawaiian, which is a frozen drink. Didn't really taste much alcohol. Four of us stood there at the bar with credit cards lined up in front of us for roughly eight minutes when the buzzer went off for our table being ready. Once at the table we ordered an appetizer. When that was brought out we were told they were about to close and needed to settle up. When they brought the bill out we were overcharged; along with feeling rushed. They should have told us when we arrived that they were about to close in 30 minutes. The appetizer was chips with three bowls of dip. The number of chips was way too few for four people and about 60% of the dip went unused once the chips were gone. Because we were being rushed out we didn't have the opportunity to ask for more chips, nor did the waitress ask. So for the food and drinks: 2 stars For the cool building and ambiance: 5 stars Service: 2.5 stars Parking: 4 stars Plan on giving this place a second visit before making a final decision. The atmosphere here is really incredible. The colors of the structure, umbrellas, and lighting is so fun and festive. We came at 6:45p on a Tuesday and walked right in to a table. Plenty of seating open. Such a great setting to hangout and have a meal. The bar area was huge and looked awesome too. The food was good. Everything we ordered was tasty and we were happy with the portion sizes. The shrimp tacos were totally worth it! Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. It was difficult to get refills or order additional items and we felt like we didn't see our server most of the time, even at other tables. A different server brought us food a couple of times. I'm not sure if it may have been an issue of being understaffed at play but our server himself was somewhat aloof and seemed either unaware of the lack of service or unconcerned. Tiki Docks is a very great place to go to and grab a drink. The service is always good, and it is a go-to when I want to enjoy a simple night out with friends or a happy hour. It's always a good time & friendly space. Must try: the peel 'n eat shrimp (very flavorful!) and the tiki cheddar burger is AMAZING! I find myself craving it often. Make sure to ask for some piña colada honey mustard for your fries -- trust me, you will never go back to just ketchup on the side! For drinks, I recommend the mango margarita or the watermelon margarita (not sure if it's seasonal) but they are yummy and strong. read more

All while on waterside with large nature trees. Menu had lots of tempting items, so I started with the peel and eat shrimp. Tiki Docks River Bar and Grill is all about ambiance and location. Colorful, lights, murals, tiki bars, live music and a water front setting give a fun Polynesian vibe. My fiancé and I have been trying to get over to the Tiki Docks for a couple weeks now. Unlike most places, you cannot place your name on a list, call ahead or use a website to wait in-line. You have to arrive and wait in-person. The few other times we called ahead to see what the wait time was, it was in excess of 2-hours. There was no way. Finally, on a Saturday night, the wait was only 35-40 minutes. The only easy way to get to this place is if you're going North on 301. If you're headed south, you'll need to turn down some side street and cut through a neighborhood. We arrived to a pretty packed parking lot but found an open space pretty close. Luckily, it was nice and cool out and we were able to sit outside on the upstairs deck to wait. Any other time in Florida, the long outside wait would not be bearable. An interesting note is this place is located on the Alafia River. Due to flooding, the restaurant is raised, I'd say almost 10 feet or more off the ground. Really cool to see. Eventually, we were seated and our server came around. We started with the very unique Weeki Wachee Watermelon. I've never had anything like this before at a restaurant. The juicy watermelon was topped with queso fresco and a jalapeño-cilantro aioli. The two flavors were so different but didn't do too bad together. It was tasty and we enjoyed it. For our main course, I ordered the Tiki Docks Dockwich with the angus beef. This burger was tasty, seasoned well, a little too much in some parts and ordered with pink, so it was on the medium side. The shape was unique and the only explanation I could come up with was that it was shaped like a dock? It was a thin burger in the shape of a sub. Other than the shape, it was about the same as any other burger. My fiancé ordered the Perfect 10 Dockwich with chicken tenders. This was flavored with ghost pepper jack cheese. While ambitious, flavorful and spicy, her sandwich just fell apart and was instead eaten like a regular platter of chicken tenders. The fries that came with both our meals were pretty good. Crinkle cut, crispy, lightly salted and hot. In the end, we were stuffed and the dinner only cost around $35. Not bad for two meals and an appetizer at a sit-down restaurant. Our server was friendly and the ambiance was great. As the sun set and the cooler temps took over, it was a perfect outside dining setting. There was live music and festive lighting. However, while the ambiance was memorable, the food was just ok. That being said, this place is very heavily seafood focused so next time I'd try something along those lines. We would like to come back and try different things but only if the wait is reasonable or they have a better system in place. read more

Always busy, but delicious! Tiki docks is a local fave with great service. The watermelon margarita (when they have it) is crave-able, as is the coconut shrimp! Their ahi tuna apps are also delicious, and their French fries are always fresh and crispy. Atmosphere - excellent. The restaurant is large, both inside and out. Located on a river, there are two patio levels that have a nice view. The lower patio has an outside bar with about 8 four tops (spaced comfortably apart with consideration of the Covid recommendations). There is music playing that is a little loud, but not so loud that a conversation can not be had. The upper patio has a similar number of tables and is a little more quiet. Service - very good. Our server was attentive and pleasant. Food - very good. The only negative with the restaurant is that the food menu is limited to a few salad options, a handful of burgers, a few other sandwich options and a few entree items. The drink menu is great. I had the Fish n Chips and it was absolutely huge, The fish was cod and it tasted fresh. There is more breading on the fried fish than I would prefer. Overall though it was pretty good. Overall Value - very good. The prices are reasonable, the food and drinks are very good. It is my understanding is that the menu will be expanded in the future. This is a new bar/restaurant on the Alafia river off 301. The place was packed. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. There are several outside decks with a large bar. They have a large drink menu and a happy hour from 3-6 pm. We tried the frozen rum runner and rum punch. Both were very good. There is live entertainment out on the deck. The food choices consist of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, entrees and tacos. We had the tiki wings, and peel & eat shrimp. For dinner we tried the shrimp fried rice and different soft tacos, such as shrimp, pork belly cod, and grouper. The food was good. The servers work hard at providing good service. I revisited Tiki Docks today after the business encouraged me to reach out to have a different experience. I changed it up and even though had a reservation, I decided to sit at the outside tiki bar with my friend and loved my experience. I ordered the TV Mai Tai which was top 2 Mai Tais I have ever had (top being at M.Bird). Wished it had been in a tiki glass or a Tiki Docks cup but it was still delicious and packed a boozy punch. The bartenders were really attentive and lunchtime on Saturday before Labor Day it was not as busy as the last time I went for dinner on a weekend. For lunch I ordered a grouper sandwich which was cooked to perfection. The amount of fish was perfect and you could tell it was fresh. I definitely recommend getting it blackened. I highly recommend Tiki Docks in Riverview. It's my new favorite oasis and I'm happy to drive 45 minutes to experience it. The lakeside water view is great too! read more

There was quite the crowd on a Saturday night, but we were able to be seated rather quickly at one of the bar high-top tables. Food options were run of the mill for a waterfront eatery with plenty of options from apps to entrees. I had the coconut battered chicken tenders that were served with crinkle cut fries. The fries were great and the batter on the tenders seemed to be falling off the chicken rather than coated to them. The batter was also under seasoned making them pretty average. I was invited out for a birthday dinner here. Getting to the entrance was a little maze but I'll know for the next visit. There was a 45 minute wait fir a table outside. While we waited there was a small bee swatting issue. Our waitress was excellent, knowledgeable and attentive. There were 7 of us and she did really well. The food was also pretty good. A friend and I split the crab fries (not pictured) -- which were pretty good in flavor but was a little lack luster in presentation. As you'll see on the chicken, that's how the crab was placed on the fries with their house sauce (that actually taste like hot sauce mixed with some other stuff) but I like hot sauce so it was very tasty. I would have like more crab meat and I would have liked for it to stick to the food better. It was like crab meat crumbles -- not cute. We also got the crab cake sandwich was also tasty! Everything was tasty! MY BIGGEST ISSUE AND THE REASON I WILL NOT BE SITTING OUTSIDE BEFORE 6PM ARE THE BEES! They have a bee problem. It sort of felt like our table was the only one experiencing it or everyone else could've been playing it cool -- but there was sure bee hive somewhere near by. No less than 8 bees were swarming our table. Our waitress let us know that the bees usually go away when the sun goes down and she was right. They did leave once the sun went down but we'd been there for a while before the sun went down lol so we'd already been tormented by the bees. There was live music which was really fun and interactive. There was singer name Matthew Billor -- great voice. When we go back we want to experience the inside but it is definitely a nice place. Fabulous company, great vibe but truth be told ~ the service and food could have been better. Our server couldn't be bothered with us as we watched him spend all his time with another table. He even tossed a sauce cup of lemons on our table after overhearing my friend say she forgot to ask. Small positions of mediocre food that was very over priced. Missed opportunity to not serve pineapple fried rice in a pineal shell- huge disappointment for a small bowl of rice that I subbed out chicken for- $15. We love the tiki docks and have been going for 2+ years but this new outdoor roof over the deck was a big mistake. They need to add back in the tiki straw roof over the bar, and the big TVs, and red lighting and get the tiki feel back under the new covered deck. I get it, more people can sit outside without being in the sun, but now the new lower roof deck area doesn't have that tiki vibe? So, please find a way to cover the bar and bring back the tiki feel to the middle of the deck vs just having a long covered deck. The owners are really investing in the place and the new docks and Zombie drinks are awesome. They just need to find ways to inject Tiki back to the outdoor patio. read more

We got to the restaurant and was told we can not make same day reservations and the wait was at least an hour and a half. We left and got about a block away and got a notification that our table was ready. I won't waste my time like that again.
