The food was good. The service was subpar. Three of us went for dinner before a show at the paramount on a Wednesday night. We arrived five -ish minutes before happy hour ended. We weren't greeted until at 6 but our waitress luckily still let us order happy hour drinks. She didn't come around again for us to place a food order until we got her attention. Nearly an hour later we asked where the food was because we needed to leave for the show soon. She said she'd check and then came back to say that she told them to "rush" it. As several other tables got food ahead of us I think she forgot. The food was good but not special enough for the price. Wouldn't go back again. There was a singer who was playing the guitar in a corner. He sounded great and it gave the restaurant a cool vibe but it was a little too loud and made it difficult to talk. read more

The foods are amazingly good. We order the oysters, fish, tacos, cocktail shrimp, pancake, every dish is great. The most impressive is the claim chowder. For someone studied in Boston before, it is better than what I had in Boston. The service is fantastic. We came at 10 am, for brunch and The manager Jun greeted us upon our arrival. she came over several times to check the foods during our lunch. The server is also fantastic. It's really a pleasant visit. We spent a few hours in the fish market of Seattle yesterday, it was over crowded, and expensive. I would highly recommend this restaurant over the fish market if one wants to try fresh Seattle seafood with a decent price and super service. The restaurant is clean and well organized. My first time here and will probably be my last. Marty the waitress seated us, walked away and disappeared. A few minutes late a table of 6 women walked in. They were immediately seated, given menus and offered beverage service, by the manager Tao. I turned and asked if we were invisible, he feigned surprised when I proceeded to ask why the table of six was immediately served and we were ignored. He sputtered a few words which may have had an apology somewhere in there. The waitress that seated us came out with water and no apology. I wanted to leave but my friends were hungry so we stayed. The manager comped the drinks as a way of apologizing (I guess) but I still feel some type of way. All in all, it wasn't a great experience, the food was lackluster as well as the service. Some of the worst service I've ever had. Food was mediocre at best. We were charged an extra 5$ because we asked for a shot instead of a drink.Or so that's how the server explained why the price on the menu was different than the bill. My friend and I were greeted and seated outside (our request). The server was friendly and attentive. He gave us great recommendations. I had the bowl of seafood chowder. I wasn't sure if I was going to like the bacon bits in it but it really gave the soup good texture! The soup was delicious! I definitely recommend it. I would not get breakfast takeout if staying at Hyatt Olive 8. I stayed at hotel with my 3 kids and husband. We ordered 2 pancake breakfasts, French toast and bagel and cream cheese. I waited in restaurant for food to be ready. By the time I reached my hotel room the pancakes and French toast were cold, and overcooked. Not sure if they forgot about me while I was waiting and it sat in window for a while. But I was right there when they brought it out to me and took it straight to hotel room. The waitress was really nice, but maybe she just forgot about the food in window, or the cooks gave us old food since it was around closing time for breakfast. Anyway, my kids would not eat the pancakes as they were inedible. My husband did eat French toast. He said it was okay even though cold. The only thing that was good was the bagel and cream cheese. But for over $20 a plate I was hoping for something better. I tried to reach out to restaurant to return or receive refund, but they were closed so I left a message. They never did call me back. Not sure how this restaurant is if not getting take out, but that is my experience. After the failed breakfast, we went to Starbucks as my kids were still hungry. read more

Stopped here for a quick bite before a show at the Paramount. First off, it's a bit pricey, but it's seafood, so that was expected. The lobster mac and cheese was good; it wasn't super thick the way most restaurant macaroni and cheese is, and they used gemelli instead of macaroni noodles, which was a nice texture. It was lukewarm at best, though, by the time it arrived at our table. Next up: seafood poutine. Hubby didn't want it as he didn't like the sound of "lobster and clam cheese", which I get as that does sound rather unappealing. I assure you, it was not unappealing and was really quite tasty. The fries were deliciously seasoned and the whole dish was just really satisfying. I'm sure it's nowhere near authentic poutine. But fries, cheese, seafood, all in one? It was yummy. read more

Great meal and service. I had the ahi tuna with rice. Both were excellent. Only thing missing was chop sticks. Wife had halibut fish and chips; also very good. Menu had something for everyone. Their rocket salad with Parmesan vinaigrette is incredible. I added salmon and that cost more than the salad lol! Two of us arrived here for Sunday Brunch and was warmly greeted by Carlo who seated us at a nice quiet high top table next to the window and he was also our server. He provided five star service throughout the entire meal! You can tell that he really enjoys working there. Very personable with a great sense of humor. We shared the halibut ceviche which was very light, flavorful and refreshing. We ordered the lobster toast and the crab & potato hash benedict. The sourdough was perfectly toasted with generous portions of lobster and covered with smashed avocado. It was delicious and quite filling I may add. The poached eggs had just the right texture with what appeared to be fresh crab all covered in tomatillo hollandaise. The potato hash was a heavenly replacement for the normal English muffin or some sort of bread. The friendly manager Jun stopped by our table a few times and asked how everything was? I dined at Tidal+ for an early dinner during Seattle Restaurant Week. Interestingly, me and my companion had to request the Restaurant Week menu, we were only provided with the regular one. I was pleased to see the full menu, but it would have been better to be presented with the event menu at the same time. I had a lovely time, the space was modern, great company, but the food was nothing super memorable. This place is in the Hyatt Olive 8 Hotel, and for some reason it makes the ambiance feel a little too corporate or clinical. The server and management were attentive and pleasant, so while I would otherwise agree with the overall 3-star rating, my overall experience transcended the food and atmosphere. That said, there's room for improvement. I would go back here for a business lunch, but not another personal engagement. It's across the street from the Mr. West cafe. read more

I don't know why reviews are so low for this place. We wandered in tonight (Christmas Eve) around 5:30pm looking for a snack before our dinner reservations elsewhere. We sat at the bar where Alex and others took amazing care of us. It's expensive (sticker shock level...$25 for a Woodford Manhattan), but cocktails and mocktail and food we had were all delicious. We had fries, oysters, chowder, and crab dip. Bonus points for having a great mocktail on deck for those wanting something interesting sans alcohol. We're excited to come back for dinner or lunch sometime and try more. read more
