I'm giving this 5 star mainly on the steak we ordered, although we did enjoy our entire experience very much! We were a little worried walking in as the outside is a little unwelcoming, but once you walk inside it's a great relaxed atmosphere. Our waiter was really cool and attentive, answered all of our questions and we didn't feel rushed or anything. We got a house salad that was great, I wouldn't say it was amazing, but it was definitely a great flavor and we both really liked it. We both ordered the Ribeye (we love that cut) and we were so satisfied! We have had a LOT of steak from alot of different restaurants, and this steak was simply amazing. The sauce was so good! Amazing things can be done with a building that formally housed a fruit stand. The space is now a cozy, eclectic dining domain. Our experience was a business dinner for six. We opted for the private dining room, but the weather was nice enough where we could've enjoyed their patio dining if we wanted. It was a stunning evening in the people looked quite happy to be outdoors. They do things right at Tiburon. All of the entrées are served with a wonderful house salad - loved it! They also provide fresh bread and they cleansed my palate between courses with a homemade sorbet. All of these are nice touches, that make me feel good about about this restaurant. For my main course I had the New Zealand lamb tenderloin. This is a nicely seasoned pan seared tenderloin of lamb. It was accompanied by a delicious parmesan and parsley risotto shaped into a small round cake. I ordered my lamb rare and it was cooked to perfection. Excellent! The red wine was flowing and we elected to pass on dessert. Next time I'll save some room for a sweet treat. Why settle for an average meal in the South Valley when you can go to Tiburon in Sandy for fine dining. It's a "must try" if you have not had this dinner experience. Salute! read more

This place is so delicious. I am visiting from out of town and my brother has passed it many times but didn't ever come in. I was looking for farm to table places to eat and scored big time here. The only gripes I had were the portion sizes and the salad. They should give more options for salads instead of just vinegarette dressing. It has been a rare and special occasion for me to go out for a dinner in as fine a restaurant as this. I will dream of Tiburon on nights to come. I started with the crab cakes and they were wonderful. Even the salad that came with them was amazing. Full of flavor, with white wine and herbs, I would order them again, everyday if I could! For the main course, I had the surf and turf. I feel bad for my sweet husband, who would've appreciated a taste of my lobster tail, but when I looked up, it was gone. I couldn't stop! He did get a few bites of my steak, though. It was one of the best I've ever had! The garlic parsley butter was a wonderful touch. I ended with the creme brulee, with Tahitian vanilla and a touch of honey whiskey. As the carmelized sugar shell broke through to the custard, my taste buds celebrated. Just got home from a lovely evening celebrating the birthdays of friends. Our night couldn't have been much better. Our food was spectacular. This may sound crazy, but one of my favorite flavors of the night was the garnish served with the crab cakes. I loved my steak!!! It was cooked to perfection and so tender. We went to celebrate a birthday last week, and somehow it was my first time here. To start off, the service was absolutely fantastic, and the steps they took for COVID made the experience very enjoyable overall. As for the food, the flavors were fantastic. We started with the scallops, and the sear and flavor was perfection. Next was the salad - I liked all the elements of the salad, but it was over dressed and every leaf was drenched in the dressing. Although tasty, they could hold back on the amount of dressing, or serve it on the side so customers could choose how much they use. I had the elk dish, and loved the peppercorn sauce, but wasn't in love with the cream sauce they used on the dish. i wasn't sure if it was a gravy to go with the meat, potatoes, mushrooms or vegetables. It didn't seem to fit, and the addition of it was not really necessary. The cook of the elk though was perfect - i feel like whenever I ask for medium rare, restaurants never actually meet that, and often overcook. Not here! It was a perfect cook, exactly what you would hope to expect of a medium rare steak. We ended our meal with the creme brûlée, which was tasty but they put a lot of fruit on top of the cooked sugar, which removed the iconic crunch one would look for when tapping the top with your spoon. I would suggest that the fruit is left off the top in the future so it doesn't make the sugar soggy! Overall, I can see why there is hype about this place and that it has been open for so long. But I do see room for improvement. read more

I visited Tiburon for a work event. The service was spectacular, which is something to say for my large group. Drinks were refilled regularly and wine recommendations didn't disappoint. I don't usually like American food and rarely give more than 4 stars. But this place provided a great dinning experience both in taste and service. Inside the dinning area, It was a bit dark; great for couples on a date. Outside dinning was a lil bit bugsome with minimal mounts of bugs thats inevitable. The salad was fresh and had a lil bit of everything. And the dressing was evenly spread. The main course I had was the elk steak. It tasted kinda like beef with a softer texture. The whole was tasty and I was truly impressed. Wish I had more room for dessert. Maybe next time! read more

The food is always lovely. The presentation, the flavors, the creativity in the offerings, all of it, it's all about the food. The service and little details which create an overall value for the price range are missing. The most beautiful and delicious of mussels offerings are spoiled by the lack of willingness on the managements part to provide appropriate utensils. A cocktail fork in place of a dinner fork would make such a contribution to the level of enjoyment of the mussels. The pepper which was requested for my salmon appeared in the form of old sawdust pepper and a salt shaker ( I assume, for the servers convenience) Upon my request, the fresh pepper grinder which I had expected having been introduced to it during the presentation of the lovely house made salad was not presented as an option . During our previous visit, we were given a soup spoon with the cheesecake for desert. I mentioned to the server that this is an uncomfortable utensil with which we shouldn't be expected to try to eat and enjoy our cheesecake.The soupspoon was promptly replaced. The one last detail worth mentioning was that the small flower vases on the table contained noticeably Wilted flowers with slimy water, an unsightly distraction. We spent $200. On the meal for two plus a $40.00 tip. We will be back because of the food. We will plan to bring cocktail forks for the mussels read more
