I think this was a beef special.
Syd R.

Went here for dinner twice and have nothing but good things to say! First off, they have a great happy hour it's 50% off apps from 5-6pm. The first night we went we just got apps and salads and took advantage of the happy hour. Staff was super friendly, too. Second night we got drinks and had a proper meal. Everything was delicious. The meatballs and coconut shrimp were both great. Mushroom and hazelnut pate was just ok but the crackers were really good. Both of our entrees were special and they were both perfect! Would definitely go here over any of the other base restaurants at snowbird.

Two-way duck

TLDR: Bread 4/5, Steak tartar 3/5, Hazelnut spread 3/5, Beet salad 5/5, Ceasar salad 4/5, Duck 4/5, Kobe bavette 5/5, Toffee pudding 5/5. Shoutout to Ryver and Mike! River was an excellent host, and Mike was an exceptionally attentive server! We brought our own wine to pair with our dishes, as they offer the option for an uncorking fee. We also ordered black coffee as a palette cleanser. For our meal we started with an amuse bouche, a grits base, with roast beef, and topped with pickled onion, it was a great pallette cleanser, as it was rich in taste but had a flat finish. We requested their bread as our second course, a whole clove garlic sourdough, with a fresh herb butter, brought out with vinegar and oil. It was flavorful yet still acted as a pleasantly pallette starter. Our third course was their mushroom hazelnut spread, and their steak tartar. I used the ailoi from the tartar to bring out more flavor for the hazelnut spread as well as requesting a small amount of salt. Their tartar was an interesting take on traditional tartar, it's secondary components were capers, egg yolk, and pickles. I personally didn't appreciate the secondary components as I felt the acidity pulled the attention away from the raw steak. Our main course was the two-way duck, with cherry confit, and the Kobe bavette. The duck breast didn't pair well with the confit, but the duck leg and confit was exquisite! My favorite dish of the evening was certainly the Kobe bavette! The bavette was cooked to perfection! And the tomato confit brought any and all hidden flavors to the surface! I wasn't honestly displeased with the pickled mushrooms.. Not appealing.. Our dessert was the toffee pudding, it was exquisite! Mind you, I'm not one for sweets.. but the toffee pudding had me reeling! The decadent toffee deglase was matched perfectly with a robust and creamy ice cream. What a wonderful finish to our meal.

Steak tartare
Somerville H.

Absolutely LOVELY meal! We started out with bread and butter, which was wonderful. The bread had a perfectly crisp outside and moist inside with garlic cloves were baked into it. The steak tartare was to die for as well! The aoli paired very well with everything incorporated into the dish and the quality of the meat was astounding. We also had the mushroom & hazelnut pate, which was good but wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped. They were offering an use bouche and brought us a small bite of creamy milled grits topped with roast beef and onion. The green bean Caesar salad was basic but still delicious! The beet salad, on the other had, blew me away! It had candied walnuts which paired wonderfully with the red and golden beets. As our entree, we had the Kobe beef paired with pickled mushrooms and fingerling potatoes. The steak was cooked to perfection and the potatoes were delightful. I was not the biggest fan of the pickled mushrooms but I do recognize that others would find them pleasant! We also had the duck, which had a wonderful vegetable medley and a sweet cherry confit. Both the breast and leg meat were wonderfully cooked. Of course, there is always room for dessert! The sticky toffee pudding was delicious! It had a warm caramel sauce at the bottom that melts over the tongue. All in all, both the dining experience and the food were excellent. I recommend that anyone skiing or lodging up mountain have a wonderful dinner at The Lodge Bistro!

A perfect stop with unexpectedly great food…read more Stopped into the old lodge to wait out the end‑of‑day ski traffic and ended up having a far better experience than expected. The food was fantastic, made with care, and far above what you usually find in a mountain lodge setting. The staff were genuinely friendly, attentive, and seemed to take real pride in the place. The dining room and bar have a rustic charm that feels authentic rather than staged, which adds to the overall atmosphere. A memorable stop and absolutely worth returning to.

Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing. We ordered a bison burger with fries, pulled pork poutine, and blue corn nachos. The fries were limp and cold. The nachos arrived with regular corn chips instead of blue corn and were also cold. The pulled pork poutine was cold as well, and the burger was overly salty. What made the experience worse was the lack of service. We waited about 30 minutes without being checked on while the manager appeared to visit other tables. After flagging down a server, it took additional time before we were assisted. I understand that restaurants can have off nights, but this visit fell well below expectations -- especially given the price point and past experiences. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as the location and atmosphere have always been a draw.

But wow, this dish was out of this world. Braised lamb is then crisped on a grill, served over a bed of roasted vegetables with a crème sauce. One of the best things I've ever eaten. Also ordered the sourdough, again so good - crunchy on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside. Started with a martini (they have my favorite - Belvedere, A+ for that) which was perfect, and a glass of wine which I enjoyed. For dessert we loved the Olive oil cake. The dark chocolate terrine got mixed reviews, but most of us don't like hazelnut so wrong thing to order. Waiter was nice. When is SLC this is a must!

So really looking for guidance, I asked the server for vegetarian recommendations and then she came back that they had just gotten some lion's mane mushroom in and the chef could create a dish just for me also including rice and peppers. In fact, we saw him walk by our table with his hands full of said ingredients. I love that the feature local and seasonal ingredients and really showed off their scratch made capabilities by creating a unique dish on the fly. My favorite item was the mushroom toast!

I got the philly cheesesteak and tomato soup. The philly was pretty yummy; the soup was better. We also got the coconut shrimp appetizer, and that was very good. If you want something low-fat or low-calorie, I wouldn't say Strap Tank is a good option. It's a little frustrating that they don't seem to be able to accommodate very diverse diets. But the one thing my husband and I both agree on is no matter how many burgers we've tried they just aren't good juicy burgers. My husband likes his medium rare, me medium, but they won't make them any less than medium. But regardless at medium they are really dry. They must be premade or frozen because they just don't burger like a burger should which is sad because the toppings placed on them are great but the patty just doesn't do any type of justice for hunger. Also the menu is pretty limited so mark it hard to try new things if you go frequently. Service the last few times has been quite slow as well.
