We had ended our day on the slopes and wanted a fat, juicy burger, and this place hit the spot! The staff were really nice, funny, and attentive. I ordered the corn hash and was a little unsure because of the name, but it didn't seem to have any corn--and I really liked it. It came with bread and two eggs, which made it filling. We also tried their house sourdough pancakes, and they were surprisingly good--almost like a protein pancake The atmosphere is amazing. We were the first guests to stay in the newly renovated Silver Lodge, and it made for the perfect, relaxing staycation. Our room was cozy, the TV was large, and having a restaurant right downstairs (with breakfast included) was a great bonus. The location is also ideal, just minutes from the ski resorts, which helps you beat the traffic. For dinner, we tried the recommended bison burger and red pepper pasta. Both were good, but what we'd truly come back for is the breakfast. It was incredible-- steak and eggs, bananas foster French toast, and both regular and mint hot chocolate (the regular was our favorite). We'd definitely recommend staying here or stopping by for breakfast. The servers were friendly, and we even met the new owner, who was wonderful to talk to. read more

I chose Silver Fork because I've had good experiences there in the past and wanted to make a good impression during a special evening with my girlfriend and her daughter before she returned home. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing. We ordered a bison burger with fries, pulled pork poutine, and blue corn nachos. The fries were limp and cold. The nachos arrived with regular corn chips instead of blue corn and were also cold. The pulled pork poutine was cold as well, and the burger was overly salty. What made the experience worse was the lack of service. We waited about 30 minutes without being checked on while the manager appeared to visit other tables. After flagging down a server, it took additional time before we were assisted. I understand that restaurants can have off nights, but this visit fell well below expectations -- especially given the price point and past experiences. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as the location and atmosphere have always been a draw. read more

I cannot express how good this place is. It blew our minds! We did a last min booking to enjoy some of the ski resorts in the area and let me tell ya, this restaurant at this lodge is incredible! They offer free breakfast in the mornings as an overnight guest and the portions to the options are wonderful! We stayed in a two twin room and let me tell you, it's an old log cabin style. Nothing fancy but clean bathrooms, clean bedding and that is all we needed! The service is so friendly and warm, I'd hands down recommend staying here. I believe the overnight rates are extremely fair, we paid just under $200 a night. The UTA bus stops literally right in front of the lodge, takes about 5 min or less to get to Solitude without traffic! The bus gets to use a special drop off lane at the resort so it's VIP yo. I believe the bus came about every half hour or so! Super convenient, use it. The lodge bar has a fun $5 beer and shot deal, I mean it might not be top shelf but for $5....can't complain! I'm too old these days to take in this bargain. Lol. Enjoy my friends, hope you get to come and experience this lodge!! read more

We stopped by this place on a recommendation. When we arrived they were switching over to lunch and made us wait 20 minutes before seating us. Once we did get seated, we were outdoors and surrounded by nature. It was so beautiful and the little squirrel was entertaining. The service was really great except the server forgot a couple of things and had to be asked multiple times. The Bison burger was perfectly done and very filling. I actually gave half of it to someone else in my party. The sauces and cheese on the burger was a nice change to the standard burger but make sure you're willing to try something new if you haven't before. The golden beet salad was refreshing and huge, definitely shareable. It had sweet spicy walnuts with arugula and maple vinaigrette and the person in my party said "it was the best salad I ever had." We also shared the nachos which were made with blue corn chips, cheddar, beans and the cilantro lime creama was really good and a different take on the regular nachos. Went to have dinner with friends and the service was very slow, the soda beverage machine was not working. They ran out of food (The ribs) and the waitress informed that the chief refused to cook some of the items on the menu (shrimp). One in our party ordered a medium rare steak and received a well done over cook steak. This restaurant does not have the good sense to allow for minor changes to the menu, for example I wanted to swap the mixed vegetables ( which were under cooked and lukewarm warm) for a basic side salad, which for all intents and purposes would not have effected their bottom line at all. and I would have had the meal I wanted. They wouldn't budge and said I could pay the additional cost of eight dollars for a small bowl of lettuce. So if you want good food your way and quick and timely service, roll down the canyon and go to Gary's Chinese restaurant, the service is always spot on and they will accommodate any order selection .. So for Silver Fork Lodge : overall bad experience... not worth the overpriced menu selection... the meals you can order if the chief the feels like making it. read more

I was standing in line at a post office, shipping a box home to Florida full of clay and glazes from my pottery conference & struck up a conversation with a local who told my to take this drive up the mountain and have lunch at the Silver Fork. It was Saturday and I was winging it- so I went! It was snowing up at Silver fork & the snow was piled high in front of the windows from the parking lot being cleared. Once inside I spotted the featured cocktails with a Hot Toddy listed right at the top- hmmmmmm- yes please. I ordered their meatloaf plate with real mashed potatoes and veggies and just had a great, comfort foodie, meal! The hot toddy was delicious and perfect! The meatloaf surprised me with gravy and tomato sauce! Everything was delicious. Service was stellar too and I saw other plates coming out of the kitchen- all huge portions! This lunch fed me for dinner too- there was a ton of food. I loved the outdoor patio too, even though the weather wasn't patio friendly- the views out back were lovely. Got the Club Classic and will say that it can be shared if you're not hungry. Each piece sliced up was enormous and came with a huge plate of fries. Their BBQ sauce is very thick and sweet, which I LOVED. They have heaters outside and even give you lap blankets so definitely enjoy the outside if possible as long as the heaters work! I've been eating here for 8 years. The best food they ever served was a burger in the food truck during the pandemic. Everything is disappointing on the menu which is why they give you enormous proportion to make up for the bland awful menu. On top of of it all everything is over priced. I always tell myself I'm never eating there again but it's the only restaurant in the area. I'd rather eat a cold can of tuna with sauerkraut heated on the road in the sun. And for some bloody reason the place is always infested with flies. It's probably the food. Anyway, the food sucks, the building is nice, location is nice but I always regret buying the food. You should just turn the place into a pizzeria and fire whoever came up with the menu. read more

Not Safe, Do Not Stay Here I do not recommend staying at Silver Fork Lodge due to serious safety concerns. I arrived around 9:30 PM and found the lodge's main door wide open. The lock was extremely flimsy--something that any person or even a large animal could easily break. There was no one on-site to check me in, and the phone number listed for the lodge is no longer connected. When I tried calling, I received a message saying the number was not valid. The location itself is very isolated, with no nearby residences or visible staff, which made the situation even more concerning, especially at night. This is not an Airbnb, yet the "host" only sent a brief text message with check-in instructions while I was still on my flight and then completely disappeared. After finding my room and attempting to settle in, the atmosphere felt unsettling. I repeatedly heard scratching sounds coming from the wooden walls but couldn't identify the source. Certain areas of the room were noticeably colder than others for no apparent reason. Whether explainable or not, the overall experience felt unsafe and uncomfortable. Due to these concerns, I decided to leave and stay in Salt Lake City instead. The lack of security, absence of staff, disconnected phone line, and isolated location make this place feel neglected and unsafe. Safety--especially at night--does not appear to be a priority here. I strongly advise travelers to avoid this lodge and choose accommodations with proper security, staff presence, and reliable communication. read more

The lunch is good. But the breakfast is like serving jail time. I ordered an omelet and typically with an omelet, the veggies are inside. This just had a slab of egg on top of barely cooked veggies. It tasted really bad. My bf got something that looked like the cat got sick. Just a random assortment of slop. I'm really disappointed because lunch is memorable. Easy to get to and surprisingly anough parking. We went to Silver Fork after completing an early morning nearby hike. It was Mother's Day, so it was fairly crowded. The breakfast menu was terrific.
