Had an amazing vacation at the Snowpine Lodge. From the minute we arrived we were treated to the utmost hospitality I have ever experienced. Meg, Shannon and Tom at the front desk were so helpful and kind. They made sure we were well taken care of. The restaurant Swen was fantastic! The food was exceptional and the service was outstanding. We met the executive chef and he sent us an appetizer that was new to his menu, and it was amazing! We also had excellent service at the spa. I had a great massage with Mish that really helped my sore neck and shoulders. I can't say enough about how much we loved our stay at Snowpine. The service and personnel were incredible! read more

Came here for a wedding and the lodge is beautiful, very scenic. I've reviewed this restaurant before, but I am very disappointed in the meal and the service that we received this afternoon. I usually give Five Star ratings and I don't like giving one star. But this was terrible. It was a terrible experience. Mr. Pratt needs new management. You can look at my reviews and generally, I give five stars and glowing reviews. Utah has excellent restaurants and service. We drove up to Alta specifically to go to have lunch. We arrived with a teenager and we were going to eat at the tables outside of the bar. The only table that fit our party had not been bussed. The staff was completely unaware as they were standing around the bar talking. So we had to wait for them to bus the table and clean up from the previous diners. We asked for water and they brought us warm water. We asked for ice and we were brought one cup of ice for the three of us. I asked them if the ice machine was broken. Even a greasy spoon restaurant brings you ice in your water. I had to ask for everything from these servers. I went to the restroom and there was a maintenance person, and the floor was wet and the urinal was taped over with your urine in it. I used the other toilet and washed my hands and I noticed there were only a couple of paper towels left. Several times when I have gone to this establishment when the plumbing has had problems.. one time there was no hot water. Another time there was a leak in the ceiling in the hallway. I returned to the table as they were cleaning. We ordered our meals, which are not cheap. $24 for a burger and fish tacos each. You expect good service if you're paying for that. I ordered an ice tea and it was brought to me with no sugar. No spoon to stir. I had to get up and ask the bartender for "sugar in the raw". The bartender seemed perplexed. He asked if I wanted packets, which is the only thing I know it comes in at eating establishments. I was brought three packets but no spoon so I stirred my ice tea with the knife. We were delivered our food and it was fine, but we were never revisited by a server to ask us if everything was OK. They didn't bring ketchup or salt and pepper which I wanted. We were just left us on our own. I got up to ask for more ice and again I asked if the ice machine was broken. I went to the bathroom and use the toilet again before I left and it was still disgusting. No paper towels. I told the maintenance people that there were no paper towels in the restroom. I suppose you were expected to dry your hands on your socks. Every time I had to get up to ask for something, the staff was standing at the bar talking. Two well fed servers and a well fed bartender. I will not be recommending this restaurant again and I will not return. I live 9 miles down the canyon. I go to Snowbird several times a week in the winter. I'm disappointed in Mr. Pratt's operation at this beautiful location. I suggest Snowbird next time. read more

Only rating this place for food and shops as I live near it and have no reason to stay there. It's probably the most modern accommodation at Alta. It shares good views as other lodges, but maybe that of Alta Lodge and Peruvian overlooking Collins Lift is slightly better?! But Snowpine has a better view of Devils Castle and I think the chances of seeing a moose out where Snowpine is is better! t is truly subjective. Some complained about the food but I think it has gradually gotten better. Two days ago, we had the burger and the fish taco and we were very pleased with the dishes! Note also I often stop by for coffee only and the staff are always friendly regardless how much I order. Sometimes the band performs here. If you think music is too loud, there are plenty of spaces to hide. read more

Ah amazing place! So many amazing memories here. Came for a work trip so was out a lot, but the time I spent here was really nice. They have an outdoor pool which was pretty much mine to play around in, weather was ideal with sun but not too hot so I could both sunbathe and swim. Checked out the jacuzzi too. They had complimentary yoga lessons in the morning with were so cool (and so much fun to tell Thomas about!), and also a spa that I wandered into without paying at first so loved. Quiet relaxing atmosphere, felt sooo nice and rejuvenating. Until they kicked me out lol. Cafe was okay I'd say, Snowpine Salad was surely healthy I suppose but not the most tasty. Also they charged me for coffee even though I said I wasn't sure if I wanted it. Still beautiful views from up there and fun networking and catching up with other conference participants though! :)) read more

I had a nice experience here. I stayed two nights with one of my daughters in March 2025. The rooms are very small, but the common areas are fantastic. We were on a floor with a big common room with fireplace, multiple tv's, and a big game room for adults/tweens/kids. The ski locker and lounge area is awesome too. Getting late night casual food isn't easy, there is a lounge which is more adult and expensive and a restaurant that was too fancy for us after a tiring day of skiing, but the shuttle was happy to drive us down to Goldminer's for some pizza and beer. Staff was all very attentive, helpful, etc. It is obviously very expensive to visit during ski season. You pay for that access, ski right in and out via their own lift through a nice warm locker room. Is it worth it? Hard to say. I paid a hefty upfront cost through expedia when I booked, and that didn't include $50/day for resort fee (expedia said it was going to be 28 a night in the fine print) and 55/day for parking - I expected that - I haven't compared to similar spots right on amazing mountains like Alta, but we were overall very happy. What an awesome property! Stayed here with 2 of my boys. Rooms are small, but lots of lounge and common space to make up for it. Great ski rental in basement (Jackson's base camp) makes getting gear a breeze. Couldnt be more accessible in terms of ski n ski out. Limited dining options, but we did one night at Swens and one night in the pub, both were very solid (Swens is pricey but not obnoxiously so). $25 buffet breakfast is fairly priced. Probably one of the few Alta/Snowbird properties with a true high end spa. read more

I had a 3 star experience, but it is a nice place and my experience was just circumstances. Check in was friendly and I had a nice room with a view of the pool. There are limited restaurants open depending on the day and no room service. There are also hiking trails right outside the resort (bring bug pray as I forgot and the hotel didn't have any). On the second day I was there, the power was out all day. They didn't have any control over the power, but do they not have generators? This meant no wifi, hot water, elevators, etc. Then on my third night, there were people loudly in the pool until at least 3am. I repeatedly called the front desk, but there was no answer. Was that one of the people in the pool? I was pretty frustrated by my stay, but Ginnymarie was great when I checked out and helped make it right. The spa was nice. I got a day pass and you can use the grotto (hot tub) by reservation and the sauna and steam room. They also have a relaxation room and brought me a warm neck towel. read more

We had my daughter's wedding on Aug 16. From the check-in to departure everything was magical. Every event from the rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception was phenomenal. The night after the wedding we ate at the Snowpine bar with a large group of people. During the dinner Carla, our waitress had a surprise. She sang "killing me softly" by Roberta Flack. The whole party did a song along after the first chorus. It felt like a Devine Intervention. Thank you Carla for your incredible service and incredible voice. This is the most well established high class resort that I've ever been to nestled right up the beautiful mountains of Alta, Utah. The service is top notch, food is phenomenal , and the amenities are next level. I'm not a skier but I thought it was cool that the resort is right next to a bunny slope, so I was able to practice right outside the back door. The bottom floor has a ski shop where you can get all of your essentials. There's a pool and even two jacuzzis! My favorite part was the jacuzzi time since as mentioned I'm not a skier. Then the fireplace on every floor was the perfect touch when I wanted to unwind with some hot chocolate and a good book. I literally can say nothing negative about this place. Well except the long winding roads up the mountain. Outside of that nope! This was the perfect snowy winter wonderland. I highly recommend hands down. read more

My daughter and I checked in to the lodge on 12/28 and my wife arrived on 12/29. When I went into the room I could smell bleach, but, I assumed that was due to people bringing their wet ski gear...but, when my wife arrived she could smell mold. I was looking for the source behind the bed and I dropped my glasses behind the nightstand; when I pulled the nightstand away from the wall a piece of baseboard fell off and behind it was black mold. Once I was able to pull the bed away from the wall more baseboard fell and we found more mold. Upon further inspection of the room I noticed several pieces of baseboard that were loose, I pulled them away from the wall with my hands. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GOOD VIBES AT ALTA? Evidently not happening at this lodge. Disturbing awkward experience on presidents day about 5:30 PM. I have never been to this lodge and my friend wanted to visit their lounge. Stopped in for a quick beer at the end ski and wait for the road traffic to calm down. Because it was the end of the day, I did not want to leave my skis outside and carried them into the first floor from the ski hill side. There were lots of lockers and we put our skis in one and proceded to elevator up to the lounge. Opon leaving we were in an elevator with a bunch of children and a taller bellhop.... Oh my, little did I know what was going to happen next.... I walked to locker and the bellhop, who evidently was watching me, started accosting me about the lockers only being for hotel guests and how I had no business using them.... I was tired and stunned by his aggression and did not return his posturing. I even left the locker area to use the restroom. The bellhop followed me to that area and continued his verbal his accosting me by the elevators. He then said: "I am calling the general manage on you." All this all happening when I was obviously heading back out to the ski hill. The general manager introduced himself and I waved him off since I was leaving, snap on my skis and left. All I can say is WOW. unregulated aggression by a bellhop at a 4 star hotel! I am a ALTA-Bird season holder with decades of skiing, and walking into ski lodges and lounges never experiencing such agro behavior by a bellhop of all things. I am stunned that I experienced such unwarranted pretentiousness and rogue rudeness - unbelievable! read more

We stayed here last year in 2024 and had a wonderful experience, so we came back. The hotel is beautiful in common areas and very homey, they also have nice things like cookies and hot chocolate after skiing. Additionally, the common rooms on each floor are very nice. Also, their names for each floor such as "dogwood" or "cedar" are very clever. However, the hotel has no room service. Some days they clean your room, others they do not unless you specifically call front desk, which should not be the case given the price. In the morning, the only option for breakfast is a buffet, which is fine, but it is completely overpriced for what you are getting. Dining service is sometimes fast, other times you have to wave your server down or sit there for an extra 30 minutes because they do not pay attention and disappear. We don't mind paying, but for the price the rooms should be bigger or more updated at least, service improved etc. It is very overpriced. read more

OK, the view is great, and the room we stayed in was nice. (But let me add that my daughter, staying in a lower-priced room came to shower in ours every day because the shower in hers was "too janky". Didn't go see it, myself.) The food was decent, but considering the prices, not up to standard. The real big problem is NO HOT WATER! OK, let me clarify. At 5AM, plenty of scalding hot water. At 9:30 AM, it was, lets say, adequately warm. But at 4PM, showering meant standing under a stream of ice water. When we complained on the 1st day, we were told "a team was coming to fix the problem". Apparently, that's their stock answer, as nothing was done, and a check of past reviews shows it's been that way for years. Also, as also noted by others, no screens. Leaving the balcony door open for any length of time results in multiple flies, or worse, wasps, flitting around your room. So bottom line, if you must book an event there, do your guests a favor and at least have every one stay somewhere else. read more

I canceled a reservation ahead of Thanksgiving weekend well in accordance with the Snowpine Lodge's cancellation policy. However, the hotel elected to bill me anyways. I have been unable to reach the manager of the hotel, and will be opening a dispute with my credit card company as well as contacting the Utah attorney general regarding this property's business practices. The hotel has refused to stand by their own refund policy. read more

We stayed at Snowpine Lodge this weekend for a little family get away. The entire lodge and our room were BEAUTIFUL!!! Our room was very spacious with a beautiful walk out to a huge deck that looked out at the ski resort. We loved The Nest! My kids had such a good time playing the arcade games and pool and because of COVID, we had the space all to ourselves for an hour and a half! The pool and hot tub were nice. The pool was a little cold though and could stand to be a few degrees warmer. My only complaint was I wish there were more places to eat. I know it is the offseason, but our only choice was The Gulch Pub which is only open during dinner. Overall, it was a beautiful place to stay and staff were friendly! We'll be back! read more

The Snowpine Lodge is not only set in the most gorgeous setting, it is gorgeous itself. The lodge has fantastic service and remarkable dining but what I went for, was the world class spa. I went to the Snowpine Lodge Spa for a massage. It was a true treat. I booked with Michael and couldn't recommend him and this facility enough. There is something for everyone at this location if your traveling in a group. The restaurant is fantastic, there's a variety of treatments, a game room, a heated grotto spa style pool, cozy nooks throughout the building. It was awesome - I'll be back for a lash lift and a facial with Renee next time and of course another massage with Michael. Living in Oakland, I realized I can get to Alta Utah faster than Tahoe. Biked from Salt Lake City to Alta Ski resort on a hot summer day last week. Ran out of water when arriving at the top. Stopped at Snowpine Lodge to walk to bar to ask for water refill. Got stopped at entrance of lodge and denied entry to get water refill. When asked if we could use a water fountain got denied too. Extremely rude manager. Shooed my husband and me away like animals stating " find water somewhere else". We have come to Alta since the 1980's and have never been treated like this anywhere. All we wanted is to refill our bike water bottles. read more

To be completely honest, part of me feels like I shouldn't even be reviewing Snowpine because I didn't spend the night there. I did however have a work meeting there and was truly blown away with how gorgeous the hotel was and how friendly the staff was. Our work meeting was on the bottom floor adjacent to the pool and hot tub. They served us breakfast and everything was WAY better than your typical convention food. They had these bacon, cheddar scone things that were amazing. I was also impressed by the level of detail in the lobby, the kind employees and what looked to be great restaurants. I will update the review once I try every else. But as of now it deserves 5/5 from what I've seen. read more

We have given this lodge a lot of chances as we are passionate about Alta mountain. We have spent thousands here but I caution you to vacation here. We had low expectations but somehow the staff actually made our vacation terrible at every turn. The food was worse than any cafeteria I could imagine, and every request even more complimentary bottled water to our room the staff scoffed at as if we were asking for the world. This lodge has a great location but the terrible service cannot be ignored (I wish) and actually menaces your vacation at every turn. read more

Unfortunately, we had a really poor experience with Snowpine Lodge; it was one of the worst sales experiences we've encountered from any business, let alone a 4-star hotel. We had the following happen with the events manager: - She canceled 2.5 hours before our appointment. On 6/25, I scheduled time with her to see the space while we were visiting from out of town. My parents were driving up to see the space with us and I emailed the events manager to confirm the time two *days* before our tour. She didn't respond for those two days, but instead canceled 2.5 *hours* before our appointment and stated "no one else on the team" but she can give tours. - She ghosted us. We rescheduled with her for the following Saturday after canceling our other plans. We got there and the front desk team said she wasn't there. We waited 25+ minutes while they called another staff member, who had left for the day, to come back to the lodge to give us a tour. This was frustrating for two reasons: first, because she just didn't show up to the meeting, and second, because someone else gave us a tour which she had stated wasn't possible days before. We felt lied to and unappreciated. We found out from the staff she had Covid, but even so, she could have communicated that to us and made a plan with other staff to take over. Instead, she just didn't show up or let us know. - Finally, she was unresponsive. We were willing to overlook being canceled on at the last minute and ghosted after rescheduling because we wanted to make it work. That was a mistake. It never got better. We had to practically beg her to give us information on dates, pricing, amenities, etc. She took 7+ days to respond to emails - if she would respond. This is just not acceptable from a business. - Last, we reported our experience to the General Manager and Sales Director, and they simply didn't respond. Maybe they're busy or they just don't care about guest experiences - either way, it's not cool. Overall, it was a terrible, unprofessional experience that left us feeling confused and frustrated. We were prepared to spend tens of thousands of dollars with them for an event and unfortunately, they just don't have the experience to deliver for customers. I was super disappointed by their actions. Bottom line: For others looking for a venue, look somewhere else - it's just not worth dealing with the staff when they provide an experience like this for prospective customers. read more

The Snowpine Lodge is the most beautiful hotel Little Cotton Wood Canyon has to offer. The other options don't hold a candle to this newly renovated hotel. Each floor has a beautifully designed "family room" that is great place to hang out as a family or with friends. My kids were obsessed with "The Nest" which is a game room that has tons of fun activities for kids to do when not on the slopes. The pool is heated year around, so they also loved going there and warming up in the hot tubs. But my favorite part was the SPA!! Katie gave the best facial and I had an incredible massage by Ivana. The cheeseburgers from the bar are delicious and was my go to after a long day of skiing. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and beautifully designed. We can't wait to go back! read more

They have no idea how to run a hotel. Employees do not know what service is. Food is worse than the worst cafeteria I've eaten in. Bars close at 8pm. Bartender was drunk and threw things across the bar in a fit in tears. Nobody wants to help with the slightest thing - even bringing water to the room. Reserved a rollaway bed with an email confirmation and we showed up to find out there wasn't one available. Guests feel like they are inconveniencing the employees rather than being served for the high price they are paying. Priced like a luxury resort, run worse than a Holiday Inn. Skiing at Alta is good, but you're better off staying elsewhere. read more

Admit it, you're not coming to Snowpine Lodge to stay in your room. So it shouldn't matter that the room doesn't have much space for friends to crash on the floor (if they do, then somebody's probably going to get stepped on!). There are balconies and living room type spaces in which to spread out on each floor--go explore other floors to find the porch swings or couches by a double-sided fireplace. There is room for everyone to stay plugged-in, however. Both nightstands have USB ports in addition to a duplex outlet on the side. Plus, the wall outlet the lamps are plugged into are above the top of the nightstands so you don't have to move furniture to reach them. Then there's also outlets all along the wall, including one set higher above the bench so you can reach it over your pile of luggage. There's an outlet on the balcony, of course by the sink, and even one in the water closet with the toilet! The dresser is built-in with a countertop, and also has an outlet, which is a good height for standing at a laptop. There is a desk with a computer in the open seating area on Level 2, and a spare chair with extra desk space if you need to sit to get some work done (open guest WiFi, bring your own VPN). It is a bummer that no mini fridge is included at this price (I guess they bought electrical outlets!). During the low occupancy of the summer when we were here, the game room arcade was in free play mode! They also have board games and a pool table which were available for free use. We bought the cheapest king room (nonrefundable advance purchase through the property's website), and even though we're only on the second floor, we have a fantastic view of the ski hill. Even the outdoor pool and hot tubs (there are two -- separated by outdoor couches around a fireplace), which are on the bottom level, seem 3 stories up since the place is built on the side of a hill. Though we got lucky and our room has a balcony, there is no screen on the slider. So even though the "lawn" by the pool is artificial turf, there are mosquitoes which force a choice between letting the mountain air in and keeping the pests out. As for noise, the neighboring room may be unoccupied the night we stayed, but our other wall is to the common seating area next to the elevator lobby and we didn't notice any noise from that; other than doors closing like you would hear through the corridor from any room. The staff is fantastic, the decor is a well matched balance of modern and rustic; the bed is firm, the sheets are smooth, and the pillows are big. All told, we would be happy to stay here again. read more

Went up to Snowpine for breakfast and was very disappointed. I ordered the Belgian waffle -- presented as being served with granola, and an apple compote and made with lemon creme fraiche. I expected something flavorful and cushy and at the very least, hot. What I got was something hard, flat, and lukewarm. No excuse for the room temperature -- there were very few people in the restaurant. A beautiful space and an attentive waiter but we won't be returning. read more

Upon entering this lodge you are greeted by a cozy and charming lobby. The roaring fireplace with it's stone mantle. The natural materials incorporated in the seating area. The pine tree theme is displayed on each table. The inviting atmosphere makes it easy to smile and relax! There are no glaring tvs in the lobby, instead you have the outdoor landscape to view. Everyone is quick to greet you and have a fun conversation. (Thank you for that!) However, if you need to catch up on the evening news or watch a movie, there is a tv in the guest rooms. Oh! I also appreciate the small details... Such as the L'Occtane bath and body items in the guest bathrooms. From start to finish, my stay here was pure perfection! read more

Really torn here. Location is awesome, fall colors amazing, and the place has so much potential but we had a bad experience. First off we booked the place because they have a heated pool to keep our high energy 1st grader busy on a Saturday but when we arrived, we're told there was a wedding that reserved the whole area the whole afternoon and evening but no where on their website did they tell us that before booking. We definitely would've gone elsewhere had we known. When I asked to talk to the manager about it they said they'd call me when we got to the room and they never did. Called down a couple of times and could never get them. Weird? However, they have a really cool, free game room and arcade which my daughter loved. Another odd thing was the room we were given was underneath the restaurant kitchen so it was extremely loud and bumpy all night. We also had a roof and exhaust stacks in-front of our window which made us scared to open the slider since we didn't know what was being exhausted. See pictures. Barely slept a wink. The food was really good though and the scallop risotto was the best I've ever had. Breakfast was ok and did the job. The staff overall was really nice and were accommodating besides the fact I couldn't get time with the manager.
