THE UTAH BOWL
Malika W.

I tried the Utah bowl. The bowl had great presentation upon Doordash delivery. It's was good, but not my favorite. The chicken felt bland. The star of the dish was the sweet potatoes. They were cooked perfectly. I wish the bowl would have had more of the sauce to help add flavor. The sauce has a great flavor. For the price, I would have hoped for more flavor with the chicken. There was ample amounts of chicken in the bowl.

Vessel Kitchen is like if meal prep got hot and started to get into the party scene. Ordered this place at work and everything tastes so fresh I'm convinced the veggies have gym memberships. 10/10, will keep pretending I go for the quinoa.

Hash Hash

Oh man I just tried this place and it was delicious! I tried the Hash Hash and it was not only delicious but a huge portion. I couldn't finish it. My grandson had the macaroni and chose veggies and fruit for his sides. They also include a small rice krispy treat with the kid's meal - again very generously sized. Order at the counter and they bring your food to you. The restaurant was clean and the prices were good for the portion size! Will be eating here again and again.

Mr. Miso Salad Bowl and Mamachari Water Kefir (no sugar added)

So many healthy choices to eat here and so far it's all very tasty. They have preset combinations or you can build your own. The salads I've had so far have been yummy. Mr. Miso is becoming my favorite LOL peppery arugula, roasted carrot, seasoned cabbage, and a scoop of miso flavored couscous. The ponzu dressing is lovely! The dining area is spacious with many tables for seating big, medium, or small groups. Sort of cafeteria style and you bus your own table when you're done. Theres no shortage of beverage options either. I love that they have Mamachari kombucha from a local brew on tap. Easy location with lots of free parking! Check it out :)

Vessel Kitchen is so unassuming and underrated. VK offers hearty, healthier food that genuinely tastes amazing. Their whole menu has something for every style of eater (vegan, vegetarian, etc.) even those who despise "healthy" fast food. Like their Mac & cheese and mashed potatoes--out of this world good! The restaurant is always clean and the service is both friendly and fast. I feel like words won't do this place justice. You just have to try it for yourself!

THE UTAH BOWL (D, S, E, SE)

Stopped here for lunch with the family and loved it! The restaurant was clean and calm, the food was great, and we had an overall good experience. The prices are okay, but the quality of the meal helped justify. The wait staff brought the food in a timely fashion and were pleasant. Would definitely recommend as a healthy, bowl-type restaurant.

Vessel is my new fav healthy food restaurant! I get the 3 side item sampler & a few "sauces". Yum! I always feel good when I leave & have leftovers too. This time (sorry pic is sideways) she let me split 2 sides in half. Great service! Great food!

We love the variety of healthy and delicious options at Vessel! The dishes are bursting with vibrant flavors, beautifully presented, and thoughtfully crafted. The atmosphere is inviting and pleasant, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal. We like hash and also the falafel hummus plate. All of this comes at a reasonable price, which makes the experience even better. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a fresh and flavorful dining experience!

MAC CHEESE (VGTN, G, D)

I love Vessel Kitchen and one of my favorite things to get is the Mac & Cheese it is usually so so good and creamy. But today when I went the served me dry and basically plain noodles. When I asked if there was something more fresh I could have they responded "we don't make new food close to closing time" they close at 9 and this was at 8:10. There was even a line of people waiting to order. This truly makes me question how "fresh" their food truly is...

My husband and I have been to Vessel Kitchen quite a few times now! I would say it has been at least 15 times. The one thing I can say about Vessel is that they are very consistent. I think their food is pretty fresh, and there are lots of options to please many different people. The meal pictured below isn't what I normally order. I usually get the salad with beets and this yummy yummy chicken. It is delicious every single time. My only complaint would be the price. This place is pretty expensive!

High Tide (trout)

I love ordering the High Tide, which features trout. It's great every time. So healthy. So delicious. My server was so friendly and smiley. This Vessel Kitchen is in a convenient location. It's bright and happy and clean. Thanks for a great experience!

We chose it because it was close to the hotel how lucky are we. We went with a group of five. We ordered three entrees and a side of wings. The wings were our starter and they were fantastic black and wings are great highly recommend. My wife and I split the fried chicken with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy and the cornbread it was absolutely fantastic cannot speak highly enough. My mom and dad split the shrimp and grits which they also said was great I did try the grits they were lovely, gooey, cheesy awesomeness. My sister had the kale salad as she needs gluten-free options it was easily the largest most fantastic looking kale salad I've ever seen, and she said it was great. The last thing I would probably comment on is the sauces with a name like sauce boss it better have good sauce and it did. Each and every sauce was unique from others I've had but didn't disappoint all where extremely tasty I especially like the spicy one that came with the fried chicken. At this restaurant they don't have salt and pepper on the table and for good reason everything was spiced and seasoned very well. As for service, our server was very attentive, very kind, made great suggestions and all that being that we came in within a half an hour, 45 minutes of closing, you can't beat that!!! If you want boring food don't eat here. If you want the same plain Jane thing you find at every other chain, don't eat here! On the other hand, if you want amazingly tasty food, service and sauces and a good story to tell eat here!!!

Draper, Utah…read more Southern food? Fried catfish? All in the middle of Utah? I had to try it. This is a sit down and order restaurant. Very casual inside, white walls with metal chairs and concrete floor. Very simple. Very small space. About 14 tables. I have food, allergies, and the waitress answered all of my questions. But then she sent the chef/owner, Julius, over to talk with me. Pleasant man from Chicago. But his recipes are all from his family who lived in the South. I ordered the fried catfish which is accompanied with two sides. I chose the candied yams and the mac & cheese. My husband ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes, potatoes, and gravy and the macaroni and cheese. Both plates are served with a slice of cornbread with a large honey butter smothered on top. The food came out very hot. The breading on the catfish is very thick and a lot of spices. I was pleasantly surprised when I cut my catfish and discovered it was deboned and tender. The mac & cheese was creamy and the candied yams were super sweet. Just the way I prefer them. They did seem a bit runny, but the flavor was good. The fried chicken was unbelievably moist. The breading was thick and crunchy. The mashed potatoes were of course, homemade with spices, and the brown gravy is chicken based. The cornbread was delicious. Comes with a slab of honey butter. I only wish it was served warm. It would've made the experience perfect. The food portions are large. The food has wonderful flavor with the perfect spice and southern heat. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I would give it 4.8 stars. The only two things that brought it down from a perfect score were the cornbread being cold, and the restaurant was not a cozy feel. Please come check this restaurant out and meet Julius.

I know this is a landlord problem, but it wasn't a good first impression for a food vendor. Although my family always teases me that I smell things that they don't smell. So it could have been just a me thing, but I digress lol... We ordered 8 dishes. I wish I knew the names. I know there was a beef and onion dish and a beef stew type dish with root vegetables. Tender and both delicious. There was a pork dish with a coconut based stock which was my favorite. Chicken Adobo, a pork stir fry type dish and lastly a pork stew dish with blood in the sauce. Yes, you heard me right. If you like blood sausage this is right up your alley. Both of the pork dishes (stir fry and blood sauce) were a little too salty for me personally, but tasty otherwise. The lumpia was good and we had a side of rice and pancit. The pancit was just okay for me. The woman who helped us was awesome and very patient with us. This Filipino restaurant serves up all the classic Filipino dishes that everyone loves. We tried out a variety of items including pork adobo, beef kalderata, lechon, lumpia, pancit, pork bbq sticks, and Paksiw na Pata. Everything was so delicious and flavorful! The *only* complaint I have is that the food on display doesn't have labels. For someone who isn't as familiar with the food, I had to ask what each item was and took note of them, but it definitely would have been more helpful to have some sort of reference. The owner was so sweet, she ran out of pancit (which is what I was really hoping for) and she went out of her way to make some for our table. The restaurant was well-kept and had plenty of seating room. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to try or enjoy Filipino food!

Not a single open table. PACKED. And honestly... now I get it. I'll be real--I went in a little unsure. Most of the reviews are a few years old, and while there are photos posted by the owner, they don't say what anything is (which made ordering a bit of a guessing game). A few things I asked about were actually old specials... which was a little disappointing. BUT--this is where it turned. Our server went out of his way to ask the kitchen if they could recreate a taco salad I saw in one of the photos... and they said yes. Immediate gold star. And when the food came out?? Massive. Like... borderline shocking portions. My taco salad was on a giant Navajo taco base and LOADED--cheesesteak-style meat, fajita onions, peppers, lettuce, tomato, avocado, chipotle dressing, salsa... every bite was so good. And somehow it all stayed in place (which if you've ever fought a falling-apart taco salad, you know matters ). My husband got the fish and chips and I'm usually not a fish and chips girl--but this?? I'd order it myself next time. Flaky, moist fish with the crispiest, lightest batter. So, so good. We finished with cheesecake (raspberry key lime + blueberry sour cream). They were good and fresh, but not quite as wow as the entrees--just wished they were a little creamier and the key lime had more tang. But overall? We walked in unsure... and left already planning what we'd order next time. Safe to say: totally unexpected, totally impressed, and 100% coming back.

The interior is appropriately dive-y. The service isn't surprising or especially fast (I recall it being respectable), but...that unique combination is only akin to having chili Mac (chili over spaghetti) from Hard times in DC. Here we were, a merry fellowship -- my husband Trace, daughter Haven and her boyfriend Michael,…read moredaughter McKenna and her fiancé Tanner -- setting out last Friday on what we thought was simply a birthday dinner to celebrate Tanner's 25th year. Little did we know, we were embarking on a full-blown Hobbit-level quest for my precious at Wild Fin. None of us had been before. We had no idea the treat that awaited us. Our journey began, as all good quests should, with bread -- specifically the rosemary potato bread recommended by our server, Elana (wise guide, that one). She did not steer us wrong. We found ourselves utterly divided, and equally obsessed, over which treasure was greater: the savory garlic butter or the fig butter. In the end, we surrendered and declared both worthy artifacts, perfectly whetting our appetites for what can only be described as a pure culinary holiday of epic proportions. Now, Trace is on a lifelong quest -- nay, a calling -- to discover the world's best calamari. So naturally, we pressed onward. And friends... if you have never ordered a second round of appetizers, let this be the night you start. This calamari is so good that even those of us who once thought this quest a bit eccentric quickly became devoted pilgrims. The destination? Reached on the first trip. Undoubtedly, unquestionably, the best calamari you will ever experience. Stop looking. Just go to Wild Fin. But was that the end of our foraging adventure? Oh, you sweet summer Hobbit -- no. From the seared ahi tuna, to the scallops and prawns, to the surf-and-turf salmon and filet, every dish felt like another jeweled prize pulled from a dragon's hoard. Even the humble burger shone: Michael stared at it in reverent silence, declared it too pretty to eat, and then promptly announced it was the best burger he'd ever had. Drinks were spot-on, plates returned empty, and every last morsel whispered, stay... linger... order more. By the end, we wished we were Hobbits -- specifically the kind who eat second dinner like Trace, in lieu of any breakfast at all. So let it be known: this Riverton gem is Karen-approved. Our fellowship will absolutely return, hearts full, appetites ready, and always in pursuit of my precious.
