Hit or miss experience! I got the SLC bowl which is seasonal and includes steelhead trout. They make it to order so you have to wait a few minutes longer but it is 100% worth it. We still don't have to wait around long for the food to come out and it was very good. Very well cooked, good sauce, fluffy rice. The one downside is that my wife got the beef tacos (not pictured) that were absolutely drowned in horseradish and some other liquid. When they were lifted up to be eaten, some sort of liquid poured out of the taco and made a sort of soup. Could taste nothing but horseradish. The staff I've interacted with has no hospitality and doesn't seem to care about the reputation of the restaurant and that is where most of issues have come from (e.g., missing food from my order, not greeting or acknowledging me when I arrived). The food I have ordered for myself has been great (The Utah Bowl is where it is at) but the food for my other family members was disgusting. I'd recommend you stay away from anything with beef and DO NOT order the mac n cheese from the kids menu. You're better off cooking some Kraft Mac N Cheese than ordering it from Vessel. The inside and ambiance is very nice and well maintained so that is one of the highlights of this location but sadly the service and some of the food has put me off from Vessel. read more

Oh man I just tried this place and it was delicious! I tried the Hash Hash and it was not only delicious but a huge portion. I couldn't finish it. My grandson had the macaroni and chose veggies and fruit for his sides. They also include a small rice krispy treat with the kid's meal - again very generously sized. My manager ordered from here for an office lunch. Three of us ordered the Med. We all really liked the falafel, hummus, cous cous salad and the pita. For me personally, I liked EVERYTHING in the dish. It was super healthy and it felt good to eat because it wasn't fast food. One of my coworkers got Uncle Rico and loved it! Another person wasn't very hungry so he just got a side of Brussels sprouts and thought they were super tasty. I have been wanting to try this place and am so happy that I finally got to! I will definitely go back! 3/29/25 update (3 days later!) - I had told my mom about this place and how good was and we met for lunch today!!! She had the lemon chicken and I got a custom plate - the felafel, Brussel sprouts and the ginger/scallion spaghetti squash. Everything - once again was SUPER good!!! The ONLY thing I wish - is that they would give you a couple more felafel. If this is supposed to be protein - they don't give you very much as compared to the size of the chicken breast my mom had in her salad. (Since I am vegetarian - getting enough protein is a big deal!!!) And I have to say - they have REALLY good felafel. Pleasantly surprised that this place has beer and wine! This menu is definitely different though! I'd recommend checking it out before coming here. GREAT food though! My mom tried to make some substitutions and they wouldn't allow for that so had to order the other stuff she wanted on the side. I get that's a pain but when you have such weird combos I would think it would be accepted to maybe move some things around. Especially since they have a build your own. Most of the staff was night but maybe it was the cashiers first week cause he seemed a little confused. You order at the front and then wait for your food. So many healthy choices to eat here and so far it's all very tasty. They have preset combinations or you can build your own. The salads I've had so far have been yummy. Mr. Miso is becoming my favorite LOL peppery arugula, roasted carrot, seasoned cabbage, and a scoop of miso flavored couscous. The ponzu dressing is lovely! The dining area is spacious with many tables for seating big, medium, or small groups. Sort of cafeteria style and you bus your own table when you're done. I really enjoy how healthy vessel is. There are a handful of delicious health conscious restaurants I like, and this is one of them. You can either look at the menu or walk up and down the row of food asking questions about the sides with the employees. Each dish says if it's gf, dairy free, etc. Personally, I think the trout is the best protein hands down! The chicken and beef are decent (depending on what sauce is put on) but the trout is worth writing home about! I've now converted two others by letting them try mine. Seriously, go try it! I like the cups they use and the filtered water tastes great. The ambience is open and inviting. The kombucha flavors aren't the best at this particular place, but I love it's benefit in aiding digestion. Speaking of which, I never feel gross after eating here. It fills me up in a good way. First time at Vessel Kitchen. Upon entering it looks like they are following the trend of reading the menu, going down the assembly line of options, pay the cashier, and off to the dining area. But that is not how it goes. You just order at the cash register, you get a number, and your food is brought to your table. There is no menu at the register, so you have to go past the food options to get to the menu on the wall, then go back to the cashier to place your order and pay. Very confusing. The orders were brought to the table very fast. That was impressive. The plates were presented nicely with the protein in the middle, and supported by the side dishes. I decided on the braised beef with mashed potatoes and Mac & Cheese. All three items on my plate were very bland. No seasoning was detectable at all.
