I first tried McAlister's in Bountiful years ago, so I was excited to see it open up close to home! Their salad menu is super appealing, though I haven't had the chance to try any yet. I really enjoyed the Club sandwich I had. My potato was sorely overpriced, so I'll get a salad next time. I tried the colossal carrot cake; it was good. The service here is surprisingly good, especially given the young population that runs it. I haven't used the drive-thru yet, but love that it's an option. There's plenty of parking too, if you're dining in. The restaurant is small but clean and welcoming. If you need something fresh and tasty, give McAlister's a go. As seen in my photo, the meat in my French dip sandwich filled maybe 80% of the bun. It brought back childhood memories of a short hotdog in a long bun--nostalgic, but not in a good way. The service here was really friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was busy and very clean. They had menus accessible to take an early look at before committing to an order. I got the BLT-A, and the basic potato with cheese and bacon. Both were excellent. The baked potatoes here are pretty big, which is a big plus. I also HIGHLY recommend trying their McAlister's sweet tea with the peach added, it is so good and light. Perfect for summer!! Give this place a try if you love sandwiches! I ordered from door dash so I can't say anything about the service or ambiance but wow the food satisfies my craving for a wrap! I got the club wrap and I took off the tomatoes and added a slice of provolone to it and oh man. Every bite was top notch and everything stayed in the wrap. I also got the steamed broccoli and my side and it was lovely. I ordered the iced tea, half sweet half not and it was the perfect balance. Now the carrot cake. Holy cannoli. Wow! Pretty good! I took a BLT-avocado on ciabatta, some broccoli cheddar soup, a Chef salad and some pretzel dogs to a family lunch and we liked everything. I was so jazzed to try them again, I went the next day. Everything was pretty good... again! Couldn't figure out what the recommended salad dressing was for the Southwestern salad but we didn't think it was good. (we knew it was lime something) Luckily we had other dressings to switch to. Updating my review after coming numerous times. Gave it 5 stars last time. First the food is still good and the servers are friendly. The downside now is the portions have decreased. The prices were higher than other deli places to begin with, but we felt it was worth it for the amt of meat you got on the sandwiches. Now the meat and toppings are less and the "colossal" carrot cake (my fav) is not colossal size anymore so I think it's overpriced now for what you get. read more

Patient customer service with helpful, friendly servers. Great variety on the menu with plenty of unique options to choose from. Very clean dining area and the large windows give it a nice open feel and a few tables offer good views of the trees in the surrounding area as well as down into the valley. My son and I enjoyed the Honey BBQ nachos and the fancy spuds were delicious and filling. I'm sure we will be back - HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

I saw this place open recently and finally had a chance to try it! I was looking forward to a soup on this rainy day. The look gives off a very hometown inviting look....unfortunately the employee I first dealt with did not get the memo. I was waiting in the front area, not knowing where to stand in order to get service. I asked a few customers if they were waiting, they weren't. I saw a customer leave the register, and started walking over when a couple cut me off for refills. I waited until they finished thinking I was next.... The girl didn't even acknowledge me, but she definitely acknowledged the couple getting the refill. She was incredibly polite and helpful to them, but completely ignored me. After she finished with them I was thinking I was next.....nope I just stood there! She found other ways to ignore me but would look at me periodically. I finally saw the other register open and went there, that girl was apologetic and helpful. Once the second girl started taking my order, the first girl decided to start helping other customers.....why was I ignored?? To top things off she started to complain to the girl taking my order about things that shouldn't be discussed in front of customers, why?? Very unprofessional, very disrespectful. This type of person should not work the registers. I was hoping the food would make up for the treatment but unfortunately it also fell short. I understand it's a new location, but I don't know if I will ever come back. Definitely not worth the frustration. read more

This once a BK has become what is essentially another Cafe Zupas. You order at the counter, they bring the food and drink (you do not self serve) to you, and clean up after your table (hence how they justify asking for tip upfront at the counter) I came on a Thursday and they were out of several items. Staff is very young and polite enough, seems like this may be many of them's first employment. The place smells like bleach which isn't appetizing, and the workers don't wear gloves when cleaning so their poor hands will likely suffer soon. While I can appreciate the newness of the interior and the attempt to be a good establishment, this place is basic at best, pricey for what you get, and I don't need to experience more mediocrity - I can heat canned soups, assemble salads and make sandwiches at home just easily as they do it here. read more

Was my family's first visit to the new deli. The cashier was mostly friendly and mentioned some recommendations on sandwiches. Our food was just okay. My daughter's sandwich was brought out immediately and had very little faux meat on it and some of the toppings were missing. The rest of us waited a long bit before ours was delivered. When our French fries were delivered we quickly ordered another one as it was smaller than I had expected. The first order of fries were a little cold. However, the brownies were yummy. We understand that this establishment is just 2 weeks new and still probably still working some things out. We are vegetarian and vegan and love the OG -Vertical Diner. I guess we were expecting the same service, quality, and portion size. We would like to try Vertical Deli again someday, but will wait until its quirks get worked out. Until then we will continue to eat at the original Vertical Diner when we go out to eat. read more

Would not recommend. Our sandwiches were extremely soggy, the baked potato tasted old (the cheese was like cement!). For the price point on a sandwich this is very overrated. Delicious!!! First time trying it today and loved it. I got the king club and had enough for 2 meals and my mom had the McAlister club and had enough for 2 meals. The staff was amazing we asked about the honey mustard that was on the sandwiches and they gave half a quart of it to take home. Definitely will be coming back. read more
