I had a great experience at this location. I went during my lunch break. There were others there, but it wasn't too busy. The woman I ordered from was patient with me as I took my time. I ended up getting a cheeseburger and fries. I didn't realize the cheeseburger comes with two patties, so be sure to order the little one if you only want one. It was a substantial amount of food! It was really good. They have a soda machine with Diet Coke. I used their restroom and it was really clean. I also liked the red paper towel dispenser to fit their branding. They have complimentary peanuts available which I think is super fun. I'd recommend this location for sure. read more

Nestled in between two other famous hamburger joints, Five Guys by far surpassed the other two both in taste, and quality to me. Made to order, not pre-made, with the toppings of your choice. Lots of basic hamburger toppings to choose from , including jalapenos. They also have hot dogs, veggie, BLT, or grilled cheese sandwiches. Nice size homemade fries cooked in peanut oil. Small, medium or large size fries which are really good. The potatoes at this location helm from Idaho. Soda's are from the Coca-Cola family including Dasani water. If you want something sweet try one of their milkshakes all mix-ins are free. read more

All of our hamburgers were made fresh on the spot, and everyone agreed that they were delicious. Crispy french fries made fresh and to perfection -- they're cooked in peanut oil which gives them an added layer of yum. Just delightful. For some reason, the five guys app wasn't working but that's not their problem. I just came in and ordered on the spot. Which was nice because the food was handed off to me fresh and hot. There were a few older teenagers and young adults working tonight, so they were being a little bit silly and loud while they were assembling burgers. You've got to make your job fun somehow. :) This isn't a complaint, rather positive acknowledgment that if you allow your employees to be their authentic selves then they're likely to have higher morale and do the job in a truly positive manner. Consistently on point. Never disappoints. I like how they give you so many fries, and I love the Cajun fries. Specially with wine. Came here today for some burgers and fries with my dad. We ordered and waited for our food and when we received it, we were just handed the burgers and told that there are no fries. Apparently their fryer was broken even before we ordered and they still had us go through with the transaction without telling us ANYTHING. I would have rather gone to a place and spent my money there, that had what I ordered, instead of being given false hope that our food was going to come out like we ordered it. As burgers places go, this place is way better than In n Out. The fries are fresh and they list the place that they came from on the wall ...and they have potato bags piled up as you enter. I really like the atmosphere of this place. I always get the burger wrapped in lettuce with tomatoes and mushrooms. It's a bit messy but worth it, since I don't eat flour. My husband and daughter like the burgers. He got the bacon cheeseburger and gives it 4 stars. She got a little cheeseburger and couldn't finish it. Very filling. read more

A "little hamburger" comes with one patty, while the "hamburger" comes with two--keep that in mind if it's your first time going. The fries are pretty good flavor wise, but I'd love to see Five Guys drain the grease more--don't be shocked if by the time you pick up your order and take it to your table, there are grease spots on the bag from where the fries touch. I like the other Five Guys. They do gluten-free very well. They don't have a big menu but you certainly can get him or anywhere you want. So when I walked into the lunch rush and found an empty joint, I was very surprised. Well I was debating what to get somebody came and pick up a big Uber Eats order. The staff apologize that my food was taking so long. I told him I wasn't in a rush it was OK. Let's just say that the only good thing about this meal is at the fries were hot. This location is close to my office and I've eaten lunch at this Five Guys twice in the past two weeks. I don't know if the quality at Five Guys has changed or if my preferences have changed, but their burgers and french fries aren't as good as they used to be, in my opinion. On my recent visits to their Five Guys, the french fries were soft and served barely warm. They weren't crisp or hot, like I was expecting, and what's generally typical of Five Guys. The french fries at Five Guys have been among my favorites for years, but the french fries these past two visits were downright disappointing. Has Five Guys increased their prices recently? I'm not sure. But $13 for a Little Bacon Cheeseburger, Little French Fry, and Small Drink seems expensive to me. They are charging almost gourmet burger pricing for a burger that's hardly gourmet. The beef patty is underseasoned and almost flavorless, the bun is soft and substance-less, and the toppings (grilled onions, cheese, and ketchup) are nothing special. I'm going to break tradition with my normal review format because I honestly don't have a lot to say here. To date, I haven't preferred to review any place that is a large chain (for a few reasons). That said, I had never been to Five Guys before and so thought to try it as a "quick burger lunch" as most people seemed to speak highly of it. The hamburger has a notable, nice charred taste to it. Looking online now, I see that they use non-frozen patties and cook them well done so for me this warrants points to them as I value both of those things. I ordered a hamburger with grilled jalapeños, grilled mushrooms, mustard, mayonnaise, and lettuce and believe it or not, this was the most tasteless hamburger I may have ever eaten. I think what it comes down to is that the patty is COMPLETELY unseasoned (or very much seems to be). It simply tastes like plain hamburger meat...no salt even. Okay, so that may not necessarily be a bad thing for all but it certainly took me aback because it was notably tasteless (aka unseasoned). The hamburger is of a good portion size and filled me up well. I didn't realize the "regular" hamburger had two patties. I ordered a small size of Cajun fries. That turned out to be more than enough as the burger nearly filled me up completely. I don't know what seasoning is used but paprika seems to the predominant one and it was pretty much overpowering. My wife had the regular fries and we both agreed that too much salt was used on those. The interior is nice, clean, with red and white covering most of the aesthetic presence. Interestingly, there are actually free peanuts you can shell and eat while you wait for your food. That's a nice touch. All in all, I'm not against going back but I think In N' Out will get preferential treatment. In summary, Five Guys for me is best encapsulated by, "under-seasoned hamburger, over-seasoned fries." ...okay, maybe I did have a lot to say. read more

The shortest move in the history of franchise restaurants may have occurred in Midvale at The Shops at Fort Union. For those who miss the Five Guys at 1146 E Fort Union Blvd....partake the Five Guys at 1082 Fort Union Blvd! Or, in other words, where the Dickey's used to be. Let's face it, what makes every Five Guys great is the food: 1. Awaiting your order by cracking open a whole bunch of peanuts, 2. The all-the-way cheeseburgers (Lettuce, tomatoes, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, ground beef, American cheese, ketchup, mustard, and mayo) 3. The overflowing cup of Idaho-potato-made fries. 4. Finishing up with a smooth, packed with goodness shake. I can't fault the epic food. It's awesome. However, there is a bit of disappointment in the new location. It's smaller than 1146, and it seems odd for them to do all this remodeling to a less user-friendly space. But I'm glad they're back at The Shops at Fort Union. My order on the other hand, a Quad Patty BACON Cheeseburger w/BACON, Mayo, Lettuce, Pickles, Tomatoes, Grilled Onions, Grilled Mushrooms, also wrapped in lettuce. First of all, the order taker Alexander is an idiot. I told him I wanted double the meat you put on a double bacon cheeseburger. And I also want it wrapped in lettuce. It took 2 corrections and further explanation for him to understand I wanted 4 pattys. Nevertheless and in spite of further clarification: 1. It came on a bun. 2. It came WITHOUT bacon. The employees here are nice. Some reviews said otherwise but my experience was fine. The 2 stars is for the burger and fries. For 15 dollars I would expect a little better. The regular fries I got in the cup were barely filling the cup. My burger couldn't have been prepared worse. I don't think it would be possible to smash the party any more than they did. It was thin, crumbling, and kinda burnt. The cheese wasn't even melted so it was nice to have some good cold cheese on a crumbly burger. I honestly don't know why the reviews are so low. This is the closest location to us and we love it. The staff is always so nice and our food never disappoints. We also did pick up during the outbreak and I had to go in but there was nobody in there other than the staff and they were all wearing masks and gloves so no issue for me. Damn I really like five guys, but this place really screwed the pooch. I ordered a BLT which I feel is a pretty simple thing to not fuck up, but I must be wrong. This BLT shows up and I'm excited to dig in and really enjoy myself, I took my first bite and honestly it was like Sandman blowing a load in my throat. I eat at this location 2-4 times per month. It is always great. I haven't had the issues that the other reviewers say they have experienced. I have also done curbside with no issues. You just have to call when you get there. read more
