Nestled in between two other famous hamburger joints, Five Guys by far surpassed the other two both in taste, and quality to me. Made to order, not pre-made, with the toppings of your choice. Lots of basic hamburger toppings to choose from , including jalapenos. They also have hot dogs, veggie, BLT, or grilled cheese sandwiches. Nice size homemade fries cooked in peanut oil. Small, medium or large size fries which are really good. The potatoes at this location helm from Idaho. Soda's are from the Coca-Cola family including Dasani water. If you want something sweet try one of their milkshakes all mix-ins are free.

As burgers places go, this place is way better than In n Out. The fries are fresh and they list the place that they came from on the wall ...and they have potato bags piled up as you enter. I really like the atmosphere of this place. I always get the burger wrapped in lettuce with tomatoes and mushrooms. It's a bit messy but worth it, since I don't eat flour. My husband and daughter like the burgers. He got the bacon cheeseburger and gives it 4 stars. She got a little cheeseburger and couldn't finish it. Very filling.

I'm going to break tradition with my normal review format because I honestly don't have a lot to say here. To date, I haven't preferred to review any place that is a large chain (for a few reasons). That said, I had never been to Five Guys before and so thought to try it as a "quick burger lunch" as most people seemed to speak highly of it. The hamburger has a notable, nice charred taste to it. Looking online now, I see that they use non-frozen patties and cook them well done so for me this warrants points to them as I value both of those things. I ordered a hamburger with grilled jalapeños, grilled mushrooms, mustard, mayonnaise, and lettuce and believe it or not, this was the most tasteless hamburger I may have ever eaten. I think what it comes down to is that the patty is COMPLETELY unseasoned (or very much seems to be). It simply tastes like plain hamburger meat...no salt even. Okay, so that may not necessarily be a bad thing for all but it certainly took me aback because it was notably tasteless (aka unseasoned). The hamburger is of a good portion size and filled me up well. I didn't realize the "regular" hamburger had two patties. I ordered a small size of Cajun fries. That turned out to be more than enough as the burger nearly filled me up completely. I don't know what seasoning is used but paprika seems to the predominant one and it was pretty much overpowering. My wife had the regular fries and we both agreed that too much salt was used on those. The interior is nice, clean, with red and white covering most of the aesthetic presence. Interestingly, there are actually free peanuts you can shell and eat while you wait for your food. That's a nice touch. All in all, I'm not against going back but I think In N' Out will get preferential treatment. In summary, Five Guys for me is best encapsulated by, "under-seasoned hamburger, over-seasoned fries." ...okay, maybe I did have a lot to say.

Do you see any bacon in my little BACON cheeseburger?

Rude employees, messed up on my order. They didn't even apologize for the mistake. Just gave me an attitude about it.

We were out near this Midvale location the other day. It's just south off the 215 freeway on Union Park Ave. It's in the big Walmart shopping center. WE pull in and there easy parking. The line isn't too long as we go inside. Inside is way cooler temp wise than eating in the Suburban. Plus you get all the drink refills you want. This visit I got it in my mind to try something different other than my normal Double Double. I ordered a "3X3" animal style extra grilled onions and put the lettuce and tomato on the side. I never had a 3x3 before and wanted to see it it was that much better than a regular Double Double. It was only like $1.70 I think more. One other guy on my crew did the same. I asked for the lettuce and tomato on the side, cause I thought the additional height of this 3x3 might be too much for my mouth to open. Our orders come out and wow, that 3x3 sure has a lot of melted cheese all flowing out of it! I hate when the cheese isn't melted! OK, Here goes my 3x3, I open wide and ease that meaty goodness into my mouth. Biting down, it is a different experience than a regular Double Double. More meat centric with out the lettuce and tomato. The buns were toasted well and there was a crunch from that. I did like the 3x3, but I think the Double Double is a more balanced burger experience. That familiar taste of the Double Double wasn't there, more just meat and cheese, but yeah lots of meat. I'm glad I thought to give this 3X3 a try animal style, but I think next time I'll stick to the Double Double animal style with my extra grilled onions. This bug meat burger was enough for lunch so I skipped the fries. A 4 X 4 is the biggest option In N Out will make, but that way too much meat to fit in my mouth!

The bacon was crisp cooked fresh, the cheese melty, and the jalapeños added the perfect kick. The fries were sooo fire!! -- freshly sliced, nonuniform, so you get the best of both worlds with some thick and some thin. Crispy, golden, and salty in all the right ways. The whole place has that retro drive-in vibe with Route 66 and Coca-Cola signs everywhere, giving it an old-school diner feel. On top of all that, The service was great help giving a solid recommendation!! It's definitely a vibe!! Overall, classic food done right. Maybe a little pricier but definitely recommend stopping by if you're craving a solid burger and fries.

Not quite enough special sauce. Bun was average. Not enough cheesy flavor. It was OK, but not great. Not as good as an In-N-Out cheeseburger. Guess I'll have to try other items on their menu. I've had their pastrami burger before and that was a pretty good 4 stars. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!
