They have "Not" Chicken aka Breaded Cauliflower and it's delicious. A chicken joint having any vegetarian option is rare and certainly unexpected, but this really blew it out of the park, and I hope other chicken joints will take note! I like some heat but every place has their own scale, so I wasn't sure there I fell. The cashier said that the hot was about like flaming Cheetos. It's been awhile since I had those but remember them being pretty tame so went with "Hot" for my sandwich. I would NOT call the Hot tame, it was right at the max of what I can handle and next time would opt for the next rung down, medium. As someone who doesn't love fries, I appreciated that I could swap my side on the combo for the kale slaw without any upcharge. This location is awesome! Especially Diego. If he's there, say hello from one of his biggest fans. Aside from the fantastic service, Dave's always delivers, especially for those late night cravings. This is one of our favorite places in Los Angeles so when they showed up in the neighborhood, I was excited to say the least. There are few places where you can get legit amazing chicken at midnight-1am. Always love the sliders either cheese. I saw a TikTok of a girl talking about how flavorless raising canes chicken was compared to Dave's hot chicken so I had to try it out for myself. While I enjoyed the food I can't say I agree with it having more flavor than raising canes. I got the chicken sandwich and the cheese just made the whole thing taste weird so my only suggestion is to make sure you order it without cheese. Overall a good experience. read more

I would consider myself someone of a chicken tender connoisseur. The menu is pretty unique, and you can get quite a bit of food. So if you're like my husband you'll probably be stoked to find that you can get a sandwich AND a tender AND fries! A dream come true. I also really liked the ambiance of the restaurant- it was a cool, fun, trendy and chill vibe. Service was pretty good, with our food coming out pretty quickly even on a busy Friday night. I wasn't a huge fan of the flavor. The chicken/spices were pretty dry- just not really my style. They also give you so little sauce- which was just funny to me the toast was confusing to me... it's really just two pieces of generic white bread from a grocery store... maybe that's some people's vibe! Just not mine! I expect a little more when paying $30 for two meals. So good that I was planning my next trip back to Denver next year to get my fix again. Unfortunately, I might have to do that because this one doesn't compare. Ordered for 5 of us. I left a generous tip and it came to $125. Everyone did get shakes. Chicken sandwich was every bite of hot and had intense flavor. Fries are very good. OK, let me start off by saying I have eaten at Dave's Hot Chicken in California and it is been amazingly delicious. So when I saw that there was one nearby my hotel here in Utah I said let's go. I did order a slider, mild and received a hot and I just about died Because I do not do spicy at that level. I saw a commercial, last night, for Dave's Hot Chicken's NOT Chicken, which is deep fried cauliflower, and just had to try it, so I checked it out, today. The restaurant is a bare-bones counter-service place with table and counter seating. The friendly cashier Diana helped me order Cauliflower Bites medium hot, but I also wanted to try the chicken, so I added a Chicken Tender reaper hot. Diana warned me that it's truly hot and had me sign a waiver. Yes, you must sign a waiver. The risks listed on the waiver include, ". . .even death." I began to worry. Diana gave me a beeper and I sat down at a counter seat by the front window. I had arrived after a large party of six, so I figured that I might have to wait a while for my food. Plus, they make everything to order, including orders through their app. It ended up taking 20 minutes for my food to be ready, which felt a bit long, but the woman at the counter apologized for the wait. Both the cauliflower and the chicken were served atop a single slice of white bread with a small container of pink sauce (fry sauce?) and several cold slices of pickle. The Cauliflower Bites were good; tender, moist and tasty. In my opinion, medium hot was on the mild side of medium. I could feel it, but didn't feel the need to drink anything, which was good, because I purposely did NOT get anything to drink. The Chicken Tender was very large; like, half of a large chicken breast large. It was also tender, moist and tasty. The red chili powder on the tender had a touch of chili powder bitterness, but it wasn't unpleasant. I'm not a nibbler and, by my third bite, the heat started to build and I started to cry. However, in my experience, spicy hot foods hurt more when you stop eating, so I kept going. It was painfully hot, but, like I said, also tender, moist and tasty. The thing that was missing for me in both the Cauliflower Bites and the Chicken Tender was crunch. It's deep fried food! It should be CRUNCHY! I'm not a spicy hot food person, so this'll do me for while; maybe years. However, I will probably return in the near future to try a medium hot Slider with Fries; chicken, not cauliflower. read more

First time at Dave's & we're pleasantly surprised. We ordered two of their #3's (1 tender & 1 slider w/fries) heat level lite mild/medium & they were very good. Chicken was flavorful and had a nice crunch to it. We had MacnCheese and cheese fries (reg fries as well) also, m&c was nice and semi thick with a good cheese flavor, the cheese fries were just that...cheese fries. If you're from Cali you'll be disappointed that they don't have ranch lol BUT the Dave's sauce is a good sub. My only downsides is they don't have combos, so yes you'll have to order your drinks with an additional charge & we wished their fries were a bit crunchier. Overall 7.5/10 read more
