Sadly I cannot recommend this place at all. I'm not typically a complainer at all but I have multiple complaints. I'll start with the food, my nuggets were dry, cold,old and hard as a rock! Could easily chip a tooth. My husbands sandwich was the same. The flavor was good but the chicken breast was about 2 inches thick which apparently makes it hard to cook making the outside really hard. So they should probably use smaller pieces of chicken so it can cook evenly plus it's pretty hard to eat when it's that huge. My husband just didn't eat it actually. I will say the fries were really good. We also ordered the extras for his sandwich "on the side" this was obviously sitting there for several hours because the pickles had turned purple next to the cabbage for so long. So that's how the food itself was. Experience: also not great. You walk in a nobody greets you at all- you are supposed to order on a kiosk thing which was not user friendly at all. We had to start our order over because it would save and it asks you about sauce multiple times and then doesn't seem to save what you picked. Visually: restaurant was dirty and nowhere to sit because all of the tables were dirty. We sat at the table with least amount of crumbs. Price: pretty high for what you are getting. 2 meals and drinks were $30.00- the machine asks for a tip. I did not tip considering I had to be an employee of the restaurant for 10 minutes while I struggled with the ordering machine. I also ordered a side of ranch which turned out to be horse radish sauce so maybe they could think about labeling their sauces so they know what's going on. Employees: there was a very nice girl that swapped my nuggets for me and said goodbye. There were only 3 employees in the entire place on a Saturday night, probably why they had no times to go wipe tables down although eventually the lady did do it. She said the line cook was supposed to throw away those old nuggets and he grabbed the wrong ones. I personally will not be returning but I hope my review can help them make some changes so that their business can survive. My overall experience was not a good impression on any level. read more

One of my go-to's in the area if I'm craving fried chicken. With the expansion of their menu, I can now order chicken tenders and nuggets depending on my appetite and how "healthy" I want to feel. I've tried the Pretty Bird on 700 E and 2100 S before. It's definitely a busier location, but it also could have been just the time of day we were at this particular location. Although they did have several takeout orders while we were dining. Love the decor design in this location. It was also quite clean in the dining area and restrooms as well. Always a plus. The food was consistent with the other location. Made to order. Piping hot when delivered to our table. Juicy, fried chicken. Topped with pickles and shredded pickled cabbage. I ordered spicy this time and the dry rub spice coating was a little different for me. I didn't hate it, but I prefer the regular chicken sandwich. In love with their ranch recipe. I would say the hype is real. The sandwich is huge, I wouldn't bother getting fries unless you are planning on sharing. The food here is so good. Don't listen to any of the negative reviews. They don't know what they're talking about. The chicken is freshly fried right after you order it and is incredibly juicy on the inside while having an incredible crunch on the outside. If you're looking for a place that sells hot chicken sandwiches and nuggets / tenders which are seasoned to perfection, look no further. The HOT chicken seasoning (habanero and cayenne spice mix) is so well seasoned and delicious, it makes you forget it's burning your mouth (in a good way!) I usually order to go but the workers always hand over the sandwich with a smile which is always good. And the inside is nice and clean every time I go there. I wish I could give this a better rating. The team is efficient and friendly and the space is clean. But this was the second visit and both of us in our party got food poisoning. The first visit a year ago wasn't particularly memorable, I remember not loving the seasoning on the chicken tender that much and the corn being pretty meh for what I paid for it, but it had been a while and a crispy chicken sandwich sounded good. The chicken itself again was really subpar and just not a fan of the seasoning, but in the sandwich it was alright - I like the brioche and the pickled veggies. Food here is absolutely outstanding and Pretty Bird is still my favorite "hot chicken" place. I love the tenders / nuggets that they offer here and their fries are exceptional as well. Portion sizes are decent for the price and you definitely will not leave hungry. My only issues here are 1) you pay extra for sauce. Like, really? I just paid you $13 for nuggets and an order of fries and you want to charge me 50 cents for two ounces of fry sauce. This is a pretty lame way to make a profit. Second is the "tip shaming." I order from a kiosk and pick my food up at a counter and you are wanting me to tip for services I am already paying for? No thanks. Had Pretty Bird for the first time today. Saw the chef owner on Bobby Flays triple threat and wanted to try this. Ordered "hot" which is 4/5 spice according to the scale and was very disappointed with the lack of spice. I was hoping for the pickled red cabbage to pack a nice acid punch, but that was lacking as well. The chicken itself is quite tender and was juicy but was underwhelming as far as flavor was concerned. Also had the elotes corn side and it was mediocre at best. Pretty Bird has been on my list for awhile and we finally were able to check it out for a late lunch. You can order online for takeout or via the kiosks inside if you plan to dine in. I tried the Fried Chicken Sando combo with mild spice and my partner got a three tender combo with no spice. Both combos came with a side and a drink. The sandwich was huge and I enjoyed the spice flavor (even though I'm a wimp and only got mild). The pretty bird sauce was also good. Fries were crispy and you get a large portion. The interior was clean, as were the bathrooms, and we enjoyed our meal! Here's our dine in experience: 1. Lots of parking in the shopping area. While there is a competitor fried chicken place nearby, you'll want to give this restaurant a try. Walk in and it's SUPER clean with happy staff, and awesome music playing! 2. Ordering at a kiosk means that you can browse their menu and not feel rushed. They have multiple stations and you pay by card. Note, if you order an alcoholic beverage with your meal, you'll need a manager to check ID then enter a code before it let's you proceed to payment. 3. They bring your food to the table and it is Delicious. The buns are fresh, the slaw is tasty. And the chicken...OMG the chicken! Big juicy fried chicken that is nicely seasoned. Perfect crunch effect by the way. Now I understand how Chef Viet Pham beat Bobby Flay twice LOL oh, and you can order the slaw/pickle/sauce on the side to ensure proper crunch effect :) 4. Got there around 1:45 pm on a Saturday. Luckily it wasn't busy so we were able to get an open spot for our little family of five. By 2:15 it started getting busy and most the seating was being used. We used the iPad kiosk to order our food. I got a Fried Chicken Sando Combo: included a sandwich with toppings, side: fries (street corn, slaw, or fries), then a drink. I bought an extra side of fries for my kids but one would have been plenty for us to share. You do have to pay for sauce which I think it should come with one then pay for extra sauce. They do however have ketchup and mayo inside you can get in sauce cups. You also get to customize the heat level you want for your sandwich: none, mild, medium, hot, very hot. I got the mild and it had a little spice to it but not bad. The sandwiches are huge! They brought out our food super fast like less than 5 minutes of being there. Everything is bright white and well lit. There's lots of outdoor seating that would be nice for summer. The bathrooms were cool too, they had an automatic sink with water and a hand blow dryer. They do great on the portion size - the sandy is more substantial than your Monroes, Daves, Houston TX, etc. I really like the purple slaw they put on. "Spicy" wasn't really spicy at all - perhaps a mild-medium by AZ standards. My one complaint is how long it can take. There isn't much variety on the menu yet waited at least 15 minutes for my to-go order. Otherwise staff was super friendly. I had been talking up Pretty Bird to my friend from Philly as one of the spots we needed to try while in town, so it was pretty convenient to find one after we went to TopGolf. Well, he now seriously doubts my taste, and for good reason. I was trying to decide which entree to get, and ended up going with the jumbo nuggets cuz let's be honest, who doesn't love good nugs? I would hardly call them jumbo, and they were honestly so chewy that they felt processed. They came out in about two minutes, which suggests they were prepared well in advance and left under a heat lamp. I got hot cuz I know from past experience the hot behind can be a bit much for me, but I barely felt any spice at all. The fries were equally tough from being under a heat lamp, and had hardly any seasoning. The branding and design is great, but it seems quality is tanking as the chain expands.
