If you pass on this spot you are Crazy. Food was Amazing. The Service was amazing. Location is nice. Plenty of parking . Fired chicken is something that needs to be tried. The greens there are no words that do them justice. If you are reading this stop. Get in your car amd go get some, period!

I've been here many times and have enjoyed every dinner I've eaten here! The staff are warm and friendly, Chef Julius frequently comes by to say hello to guests, and it's a great place to have a massive meal and relax. I love that you start off with the pork rinds and sauce at the beginning, and I always order the house red drink (free refills!). I've had the chicken fried chicken, catfish, and shrimp and grits as mains; and different combinations of the collard greens, candied yams, and golden splendor as sides. Whatever you order, the flavors and textures shine, and the portions are HUMONGOUS. The food is a great value and so, so delicious. You'll leave feeling full, with a second meal, and with the desire to come back again tomorrow.

This was a black owned restaurant we found near Salt Lake City. The food was good. I really enjoyed the corn and cornbread. I do wish the cornbread was warmer. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It's a pretty cool soul food restaurant to check out if you're in the area. The inside of the restaurant is cool with the artwork.

I really enjoyed this place. Not too expensive ($55 for two, including dessert). The shrimp sandwich was great (a bit skimpy on the sauce so I asked for a side of it; very tasty) and the grits were great. I loved the cornbread. It was so sweet. Mac and cheese was awesome. We were intrigued by the sweet potato cheesecake so we got it and I have to say, it worked. It almost tasted like candy corn candy. I really liked it a lot. Service was good too. I'd for sure go back again.

I mean, I thought I reviewed this place immediately after I went, because in my head there are rave reviews. At the risk of being stoned to death, I will preface this by saying I am not a "comfort food" enthusiast. My husband served an LDS mission in the south, so he loves it. I came here to try something new but mostly to do something he was excited about. I'm so glad I did. We showed up on a Friday night at a pretty busy time, just after 6. There were people waiting, but we only probably waited 15 or 20 minutes before being seated toward the back of the restaurant by the restrooms. The place is comfortable and welcoming--brightly lit and clean. Our server was absolutely stellar, and I wish I could remember her name. But it was clear she enjoyed her job and loved the food as she raved about every item we chose. My husband got the red drink, which was good, but not really my thing. Our food came out quickly. I got chicken fried chicken with mac and cheese and sweet potatoes. I enjoyed all of it quite a bit. My husband got fried chicken with greens and black eyed peas. He loved all his food. He was a little disappointed that the chicken was boneless; I'm not sure why this is a priority for him as I am not versed in soul food. Honestly, I don't have anything bad to say. It was all around a great experience. If you haven't been here--do it soon.

We've lived right by this place for years and can't believe we've never tried it. Had super high expectations going in based on the reviews, and it exceeded all of those expectations. Food was incredible! Everything was seasoned perfectly. Highly highly recommend. Chef Julius is an artist. Will be back soon!

Turned out to be one of the best meals I've had in some time. Seven of us went to sauce, boss they accommodated us quickly and had great service! Each of us ate something different on the menu. Everything is prepared fresh. The fried green tomatoes were delicious, hot and perfectly cooked. The fried chicken was moist and savory, the catfish fresh and tender, not frozen. And the pork chop too delicious. I honestly wish the sides came out family style because they are so good. I would've liked to have tried them all. I definitely plan on going back!!!! I have to go back! I didn't have room to eat dessert this go around. The dining room was nice and clean, with a quaint style.

Went to an amazing dinner here with a large party (20+) and we had the chicharons, bacon fries, and blackened chicken wings to share. We loved all of these! The fries were a hit. I loved the wings! I shared the blackened pork chops and fried chicken. Each entree comes with two sides and cornbread, and I chose the spiced corn and mashed potatoes. Loved everything about my entree! I'd definitely come back if in the area. Service was great too and although it was a casual spot, the servers were very friendly and able to accommodate our large party being split up across multiple tables near each other. Tip: ask for a side of the soul sauce; it's amazing!

Business trip win. I appreciate the locals sharing their favorite eateries when I visit a region for the first time. I was looking for great Southern home cooking, and this restaurant hit the mark. The food was flavorful and plentiful. I appreciate the excellent service and inviting space. The owner came out and introduced himself. BONUS.....

Draper, Utah Southern food? Fried catfish? All in the middle of Utah? I had to try it. This is a sit down and order restaurant. Very casual inside, white walls with metal chairs and concrete floor. Very simple. Very small space. About 14 tables. I have food, allergies, and the waitress answered all of my questions. But then she sent the chef/owner, Julius, over to talk with me. Pleasant man from Chicago. But his recipes are all from his family who lived in the South. I ordered the fried catfish which is accompanied with two sides. I chose the candied yams and the mac & cheese. My husband ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes, potatoes, and gravy and the macaroni and cheese. Both plates are served with a slice of cornbread with a large honey butter smothered on top. The food came out very hot. The breading on the catfish is very thick and a lot of spices. I was pleasantly surprised when I cut my catfish and discovered it was deboned and tender. The mac & cheese was creamy and the candied yams were super sweet. Just the way I prefer them. They did seem a bit runny, but the flavor was good. The fried chicken was unbelievably moist. The breading was thick and crunchy. The mashed potatoes were of course, homemade with spices, and the brown gravy is chicken based. The cornbread was delicious. Comes with a slab of honey butter. I only wish it was served warm. It would've made the experience perfect. The food portions are large. The food has wonderful flavor with the perfect spice and southern heat. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I would give it 4.8 stars. The only two things that brought it down from a perfect score were the cornbread being cold, and the restaurant was not a cozy feel. Please come check this restaurant out and meet Julius.

Sauce Boss brings so much flavor and is just hands down delicious. Haven't had anything not good, but especially love the fried chicken and the fried green tomatoes. The Mac and cheese (golden splendor) is one of the better ones I've had. So glad we have them here!!

I didn't expect to find good soul food in Draper but here we are! Let's keep this restaurant around! I got the Mac and cheese and grits and both were very good, particularly the Mac. The cornbread was soft, spongey, and sweet. I only gave it four stars because while I enjoyed my blackened pork chops, they didn't blow me away. That said, my friend was raving about his fried chicken. Finally, the helpings were large - we were both stuffed and had leftovers. The service was amazing, the owner and chef stopped by and chatted with us for a bit, super nice guy. You can tell he puts a lot of passion, love, and skill into his food. I will definitely be coming back!

I saw sauce boss on tv and came to Utah for my son's soccer tournament so I had to come try it. Service was great. Portions were generous. Great atmosphere. Food was amazing. Chef Julius came out to greet and check on us himself. He was very genuine and kind. Would definitely recommend making a trip here.

He came right out and walked my order to my car and was so pleasant and personable. He shared with me his family's story about how these bite sized, individual pies came to be, and how him and his family take great pride in these pies and the family recipe. I sampled all their flavors and they were pretty fantastic. The lemon merengue was an instant favorite - the lemon had a punch full of flavor but not overpowering at all. The fruit tart was just a great balance of fruit flavor with the custard. The heavenly chocolate with Andes mints is a fantastic one to try as it's a seasonal one, but perfect for the holiday season. The coconut cream was an instant hit with just the right amount of sweetness. And the crust - wow, it's spot on that compliments every flavor of these bite sized little heavens-in-your-mouth. Overall, these miniature pies are the way to go for wanting a taste of every flavor of pie - without having to have a slice of a regular sized pie. I really wanted to love my cookies at Crave, and I visited twice over the last couple of months to give them a try. They're good cookies, but not the best. Both times I visited, the store was absolutely empty. They change their cookie menu weekly, and this week's menu was very appealing. One thing I noted is that every one of their cookies with the exception of the classic chocolate chip was stuffed with some sort of mass-produced sweet. Peanut butter cookies were stuffed with Reeses style cups, the Chocolate cookie was stuffed with what tasted like storebought cheesecake, the Samoa cookie was literally topped with a Girl Scout Cookie, and the Scotcheroo was filled with a Rice Krispie Treat. This made all of the cookies taste far from homemade. They were SO sweet that I barely could eat a few bites. I love sweets, but the fake flavors were just gross. The worst cookie of the bunch was a Strawberry cookie. It had a sour tasting strawberry cream topping that was day-glo pink! Extremely unappetizing. It was topped with a thick whipped cream that made the entire thing soggy and unappealing. I have never thrown out a cookie before, but it was really, really gross. Into the garbage it went. The best cookie was the traditional chocolate chip, and I would've loved the Oreo cookie if it hadn't had the yucky, gummy cheesecake inside. The cookies were slightly underdone and reminded me so much of Gideon's Bakehouse in Orlando, that same sort of yummy, sugary, raw dough texture. I gave Crave two chances and I was less than impressed on both of my visits. The employees were so nice and friendly, but they selected my cookies out of a warming tray. I didn't smell any fresh baked cookies and no baking was going on, just already made cookies sitting there getting dried out. They were served to me warm, however. There are much better cookies out there, and I just prefer all-natural ingredients or at least freshly baked cookies.
