Since we live just up the road from First Watch, we come here at least monthly (if they send a coupon, we come more). Our favorite thing about First Watch is the servers. All the servers are so friendly. Several of them know our chatty, wiggly son's name. I've tried several different breakfast items. I usually do the Tri-Fecta as a classic option. The egg sandwich is really good. The million dollar potatoes are worth the upgrade, but plan to share. And the million dollar bacon, well, need I say more? We also have been for lunch where I got a sandwich/salad combo. The salad was really good, but I'd try a different sandwich next time. After getting the tomato soup for lunch, my son now orders it at breakfast as well. On our recent trip for my husband's birthday, we got the pumpkin spice donut holes, and they were SO good. I'm a fan. Eight off the bat on a Friday morning the place was packed. I had to circle the building looking for parking. When entering the first thing I noticed is how close the hostess stand is to the door. With how crowded that area was we had to stand with the door open. The menu has some unique and delicious sounding dishes. My spouse ordered the blazing dragon drink. It tasted amazing. However it was packed with ice so you don't get a ton. I had the Chickichanga. The sauce and spiced chicken worked well together. Service was friendly although it took a minute to get the check with how busy the place was. read more

This was my first time visiting First Watch in Taylorsville and I was pleasantly surprised. From the moment we arrived the staff was very warm and prompt to get us seated. The coffee was absolutely delicious and delivered quickly, which I always appreciate. My friend and I split the Barbacoa Chilaquiles Breakfast Bowl and the Pumpkin Pancake Breakfast. Our taste buds were absolutely blown away by both. The FW Chilaquiles is one of the best I've ever had. (Try it yourself and let me know if I had first-timers taste buds.) And the seasonal pancake is perfectly pumpkin. (You can add chocolate chips but we really enjoyed it without.) I was a fan of first watch in Omaha, NE. Happy to have it down the road from me in Utah now. Parking is limited. There will be a line for breakfast & brunch during the weekends. I went with my mother to try it out on a weekday for breakfast. Mine was great. My mother was less enthused. She did not care for the hashbrowns nor that they do not have salsa on hand. Service was also lackluster. Plenty of staff but none that would approach us for refills or to simply make sure our meal was decent. I might try this spot again given that it's relatively new & might need some education with the service crew. Only time will tell. read more

My friend and I had such a lovely experience here yesterday and I wanted to shout out our server because he was absolutely incredible. I sadly didn't catch his name but he was brunette with a goatee. I was meeting a friend here and was 1. Running significantly late which is my worst nightmare and 2. Running late due to a difficult conversation that left me weepy and unable to hold back my tears. Our server read the room right away, gave my friend and I some space for me to collect myself, and then continued to be the most gracious individual throughout our entire meal. When he came by for our drink order, I ordered a Diet Coke and he brought us each two, which made our days. We each got the avocado toast which came with eggs, and it was lovely. Fast and great service, our server greeted us at the table with a pot of coffee and two coffee mugs! The coffee was fresh and hot! Great way to start our first time here! I got the egg sandwich with the upgrade of the million dollar bacon! This meal is definitely super filling, the potatoes were nicely seasoned and cooked to perfection!! What a nice addition to the Taylorsville area! The space is clean with beautiful seating and decor. I was able to put my name down for four through their app, so by the time I checked in, we only had to wait 20 minutes. We ordered the strawberry tees leches French toast, the trifecta, barbacoa chilaquiles, the chorizo omelet, and farmhouse hash. Everything looked delicious... but it was all so bland. We had to add hot sauce, and salt and pepper to everything. I'll definitely try it out again when they've been open a bit longer. read more

It's nice to see First Watch has made its way to the western United States. It always tastes made to order. The ingredients look and taste fresh. Including the juices. The design inside is cute and it was very clean when we visited. The service is where they fell slightly short. Upon entering we were asked to wait on the side benches while she sat the party before us. Then when other employees came to the hostess desk they would help other people before us. We just waited patiently for the other staff member who asked us to wait to come back to seat us. Our waitress was kind, but she didn't check on us much and then I waited around for quite a long time for her to give us our check. I finally flagged her down. Went back to try more breakfast items - The Eggs Benedict- really good - well put together and good Hollandaise sauce - wasn't crazy about the hard cooked eggs to me a soft poached eggs are preferred for a Benedict! Hubby loved the Tri-Athlete - a great health breakfast filling but not stuffed! It didn't come with the fruit cup as described on the menu but came with mix greens and lemon dressing. We were really excited to try First Watch today and even looked over the menu before leaving the house. When we arrived, there was a large crowd waiting outside -- clearly us Taylorsville folks love a good breakfast spot! The host was very kind, and we were quoted a 35-45 minute wait. They do have a small coffee station in the waiting area, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, the experience started to go downhill when our 45-minute wait turned into 1 hour and 10 minutes. After being seated, it took about 10 minutes for our server to greet us. We ordered drinks and food, but our drinks didn't arrive until after our food and upon request. The food came out surprisingly fast, but the bacon and potatoes were cold. One of the kids' meals was supposed to come with fruit but came with potatoes instead. I asked about it right away and was told it would be brought out -- it didn't come until we were packing up to leave with an additional request. Syrup also didn't arrive until our daughter was nearly finished with her pancake. We ordered a traditional breakfast, tres leches French toast, and two kids' meals. The kids' meals were reasonably priced and good portion sizes. My husband enjoyed his traditional breakfast, but the tres leches French toast lacked flavor and didn't resemble tres leches -- it was essentially French toast topped with strawberries and whipped cream. When paying, my husband noticed the tip option disappeared quickly before he could select one. A tip had been added to the receipt that he did not choose. The manager did come over, refunded the charge, and re-ran the transaction, which we appreciated. We left feeling disappointed and wishing we had gone to our usual breakfast spot. We understand this location just opened and is likely working through early hiccups. If you're planning to try it, I'd recommend giving them some time to settle in -- and maybe avoid busy Sunday mornings. read more

Portions were sized well and the flavors were good -- we had a party of 5 and we all really enjoyed what we got (hash bowls, pancakes, avocado toast). Having been to the Orem location a few times, the menu options at this location were smaller (they said it was because they just opened which makes sense, but still a bummer). The service was ok -- our waitress forgot a lot of things, but was friendly. It's really loud inside when it's busy which can make it hard to hear others at your table. The big turnoff during our visit was a strong sewer smell that we all immediately noticed and kept getting whiff's of the whole time. Went today for the grand opening. It was really delicious! The staff are super friendly and the place is very clean. It was loud because it was packed! But it was nice. They have chosen beautiful decor, very modern farm house with blue as the base color. I love the little chicken wire detail in the booth dividers. Very cute. They serve more organic, farm fresh, and cage free food which is lovely. The southern windows make the place bright and airy. The coffee was amazing, and they left the carafe for us. Being the first week the coffee was free which is just lovely. They provide creamer on the table and organic sugar and other sweetener on the table already. My son had the kids chocolate chip pancake (just over $7) and it was HUGE! He ate the entire thing and it was really yummy I got to try a bit lol my husband got the Biscuits and turkey gravy, comes with eggs and potatoes (he stole the kids sausage which was huge lol) he said it was good. I got the traditional breakfast with scrambled eggs (I had them add cheese) and it comes with lots of crispy bacon a ton of potatoes and a slice of multi grain bread and they provide what seemed to be freshly made strawberry jam. It was very good. We all enjoyed our meal so much and decided we will be back for lunch or to try another breakfast item next time. They provide a large amount of food which is good for the price you pay (about $14 a plate, but worth it). read more

I've been excited to try this new breakfast option in Taylorsville. It's a nice remodel of a Carls Jr with covered outdoor dining and a comfortable dining room. We were greeted by three different servers while we made our way to a table. They were all smiling and seemed happy in their work. The menu had numerous savory and sweet options that I found intriguing. I'm not really a bowl guy but the BARBACOA CHILAQUILES BREAKFAST BOWL caught my eye so I decided to give it a try. Wow, it was incredibly flavorful, and the presentation looked like a picture. The fresh elements melded with beef, beans, cheesy eggs and tortilla chips in a mouthful of deliciousness. I really couldn't think of any way it could be improved upon. My wife enjoyed the classic Benedict and noted she could even taste the lemon juice in the hollandaise sauce, something not present in most Benedict's at a restaurant. First Watch certainly earned its place on our go to breakfast stops in the future. read more

The egg had a super weird texture. Pushed away after 2 bites. Floridian French toast did not get a sprinkle of powdered sugar or the syrup I requested. The fruit was good ( kinda hard to screw that part up) but the French toast was dry and flavorless. Ate the scoop of fruit and one bite of the French toast. The food here is great if you want a healthy breakfast. They have soup, sandwiches and salads for lunch but their breakfast menu is way bigger. This location very new and clean. They have lots of booths and you can sit outside when it's warmer. All the servers are really nice. It can take a little while for the food, especially when they are busy but that's normal for most places. They got so much on their menu I like coming back to try new thing. Prices are high but worth what you get. We've been here multiple times and all the food is great and I don't feel sick or full because I ate too much. Food was fantastic! Both my wife and I got the maple bacon sandwich and it was perfect. The bacon is top tier, the sweetness of the maple syrup, freshness (hint of spice as well) of the jalepenos made for a perfect balance on the soft buttery croissant. We tried the lavender drink and the blazing dragon drinks too with the pumpkin spice doughnuts and all was fantastic. Our server Shauna was on top of things as well and checked on us frequently. I was so excited to see this place opening in Taylorsville, especially since breakfast spots are rare on the west side of the valley. We waited a few weeks so the restaurant could find its legs and work out the kinks. I really wanted to like this place but it just wasn't very good. We were seated right away in a six person table even though we were only a party of two. The chair I initially sat in was missing a piece on one of the legs which caused it to rock about 2". Off to a bad start.... The food: I ordered the turkey sausage biscuit and gravy with potatoes and eggs over-medium: the eggs were cooked perfectly; the potatoes were so salty that they were inedible, but cooked nicely; the biscuit was just so-so and definitely not made from scratch, the gravy was thin, canned slop; the turkey sausage was basically non-existent. I do not recommend this dish. I ordered an extra egg that didn't make it out until my meal was basically finished, and they actually gave me two eggs (happy) but they were completely runny (sad). The waitress made no attempt to correct my inedible potatoes (no substitutions offered or replacements) so I just had the pleasure of throwing half my $20 breakfast away. We also shared the million dollar bacon: they took what was maybe crisp bacon at one point, drowned it in a bunch of syrup, so it almost tastes like candied bacon but has none of the texture, and then serve it to you lukewarm, flaccid and sticky. The chain is kinda of like a dressed up Dennys without the Dennys prices. The restaurant looks nice and was clean, but food and service leave a lot to be desired. I went there with my husband last week and I have to say I was pretty impressed; food was really good, service was okay, restaurant looks nice and clean; can't wait for summer so I can eat at the patio. Got there around 7-8am, only 2 other couples inside. Got seated, staff weren't super friendly. Ordered biscuits and gravy, only to be told 15min later that they would not be ready in time. I told them I could wait, but I guess they just wouldn't be selling any. So I changed and ordered the chilaquiles and french toast. My wife got the Tri-fecta and million dollar bacon. Chilaquiles had a hair in it, so it got sent back. 2nd order I'd rate 2/5. The sauce was way too sour. French toast 1/5- no substance in the bread like you want with french toast. Waited for a few months to try this place to be warm enough to use the large outdoor patio seating they have only to be told they were not seating in the patio today when we went in. This despite two tables out there that had dishes on them so they had been seating out there at some point today. Today we tried First Watch for the first time, and it definitely lived up to the hype! Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. I had the biscuits and turkey sausage gravy with eggs. The eggs tasted fresh, the potatoes were perfectly seasoned, and the whole meal was excellent. My kids cleaned their plates and loved everything they ordered too. For the coffee drinkers, First Watch serves a great cup of coffee, especially by Utah standards! They don't have the typical diner feel or taste. The coffee is not complimented well with the "organic raw cafe delight" sugars they have.
