This restaurant has been around for many many years and there's a reason. Good food and good service. I've been coming here more often the past year and I've never had a bad experience. They feature Scandinavian influenced dishes and good old American dishes. I think I've tried about all of them and haven't been disappointed. The ambiance is modern with servers in white. I recently had the chorizo omelette (definitely not Scandinavian) and it was great.
One of my favorite brunch spots. Private parking lot, beautiful Scandinavian decor, short wait times and healthy delicious brunch options. I love all their unique jams and fish options. Definitely a great spot and a cute greenery patio for warmer weather.

Talk about shrinkflation... my BLT looks like it was made on Melba toast (see pic and look at the plate/strawberry for scale.) The restaurant was out of the drink I wanted and out of the danish I wanted. Its saving grace was the nice waitress.

I had the Weinerschnitzel and eggs but was just a hamburger steak! The atmosphere and restaurant is very nice, but the food is mediocre to fair. The staff works hard and was on the ball and above par.
Overall a pretty decent place. We went in on a Sunday and there was no wait time! They had a good amount of traditional breakfast options. I got the french toast and it was good (just a classic french toast). The service was really good and fast and the restaurant never got too crowded which was nice. Overall a good place nothing super exciting or great but everything was good!
Finn's is a cute breakfast spot in Sugarhouse. The decor is cute and they have nice outdoor seating. The omelette, toast and hashbrowns are delicious! The coffee is great as well. Would definitely recommend!

Everything came out perfectly cooked and very quickly. The wait wasn't too bad for a Saturday morning brunch - only about 15 minutes, which was impressive! DO NOT SKIP on the loaf of sourdough bread. It's probably the best sourdough I've ever had. They also sold Jule kake for the holidays and I need to go back and try it out.
Seat yourself when we walked in. Waitress was friendly and personable. We ordered Finn's Green drink - cucumber, kale, spinach, and celery with lemon wedge. Cucumber- forward. Very light and refreshing. Ordered the fried chicken with asparagus and potatoes. Chicken was crunchy and tender inside. Also had the reuben. Good amount of slice pastrami with a heap of sauerkraut and ample swiss cheese. Not overly dressed. Good flavor. Only down side was the sandwich bottom half was wet, which made eating a bit difficult. May have been sauerkraut juice. Finished with marzipan cake. Generous portion of layered, scratch-made vanilla cake with strawberry preserves, wrapped in a luscious layer of marzipan. Topped with whipped cream and sliced strawberry. Delish! Note to management, it's great that the tables are cleared off quickly, but it's just as important that tables get wiped down. The wiping down of all the tables that were cleared while there did not happen.
This place was lovely! 20 min wait inside for a table (On a saturday at 11am) so we sat outside with no wait. It started to rain and they put up some little patio covers. The food was perfect! Soft scrambled eggs, crispy bacon and yummy hash browns. The chicken and waffles were so good too! Different but good. French toast was pretty basic but I really enjoyed it. The coffee was a highlight too, I usually add sugar but didn't need it for this cup! The service was fast and our server is really sweet.
Good food, amazing service & cute space.I visited on a cold winter day (Friday morning, Valentine's day) and the staff were kind enough to bring out fur lining for the chairs outside (so we didn't have to sit on cold metal chairs) while we waited for a table. There was also coffee (free) for those waiting for a table which was a thoughtful touch. Space was welcoming with lots of windows & some cute Norwegian decor along the walls. Lastly, food was yummy. I enjoyed the Norwegian breakfast special with the trout: flaky but would recommend a generous amt of the tartar sauce for flavor. I also loved the sourdough bread that it came with - so buttery! The waffles & chicken were quite good as well; though I wished there was a bit more of the lingenberry sauce. The only thing I didn't love was my chai which was a bit on the milky side (I would have preferred a bit more spice in it) but it was fine. I would definitely come back when I'm in the area.

Nostalgia all over the place! This is a darling cafe tucked up on the east side and has been here for what seems like a lifetime. It's got a cool vibe-something out of the late 1980's. There's indoor and outdoor patio seating and is very comfortable. Service is familiar and attentive-makes you feel like you've been coming here for years. I enjoyed the waffle with lingonberries and an orange juice and sprite mocktail. They don't serve alcohol due to Utah law and it's proximity to a church across the street. read more

I have worked two blocks from this cafe for years and just learned of it's existence. In honor of our heritage, we stopped by here on Pioneer day. The staff was absolutely lovely. I ordered the spring omelette, and it was divne. It had just enough well flavored Hollandaise, and the Chevre cheese was an incredible addition. I ordered bacon on the side, and it came out perfectly crisp and delicious, and it was a generous portion. My companions ordered chicken and waffles, weinerscnitzle and eggs, and the pancakes. Everyone enjoyed their food. read more

Checked this place out for their patio and their food and service was a bonus! This place is like a diner, but not. The menu is concise, but there are plenty of choices to suit everyone. I actually love a diner that has a menu that doesn't have every choice under the sun. If I wanted that, I'd be at the Cheesecake Factory. Extra bonus...you can get lunch as breakfast. As someone who prefers a sandwich or salad over any breakfast dish, this was a perk. I'll be back to take advantage of this option. Pros: My coffee cup (and water) runneth over (kept hot and full). Our server, Kali, was attentive and helpful with recommendations. She was working that patio like a pro. It was nice to have a server who was bright eyed and bushy tailed at 7:30am with the heat just casually rising. Pro: The food was excellent. A friend and I split the chorizo omelet. Don't sleep on this omelet. I was skeptical about feta and chorizo, but they melted together perfectly. We also split the sourdough pancakes. So fluffy and soft. Shoutout to Kali for bringing us two plates so we could share. I'm still talking about the Pros: The patio is wonderful. It's shaded and made private with half walls and natural bushes. I didn't go inside, but it looked pretty cute. Cons: eh, none. Seriously. My friend and I had a great little Frate (friend date) this morning. Heads up! As of 7/28/23 There is currently construction outside (not their fault). The sidewalk in front is inaccessible, but there is parking in the south side of the building. You have to access by using the street one block north or come in from the south side of the building. read more
Great service, the hostess and wait staff have always been fantastic. The food is a little over priced for what you get, but you pay for the ambience which is quite pleasant. Royal Omelette was good, nothing special but the hash browns were cooked to perfection. The Weinerschnitzel with the lemon and capers actually paired really well. Again, very decent food, and great for brunch. Their espresso drinks are also really good, rich with flavor. I will have to ask about the beans they use the next time I'm there. read more
We went to Finn's Cafe for brunch yesterday morning, and although the food was good as always, the overall experience could've been better. I believe this is the third time I've been here, but this was the slowest service we've gotten. The waters took a good 10-15 mins after we sat down on the outside patio. The waitress didn't take our orders for another 5-10 mins after that. Our waitress was super friendly but also had way too many tables, most of which were inside. The outside patio was super nice, fortunately the weather was beautiful and they have nice shade coverings. We ordered the spring omelet, which my husband enjoyed, a cinnamon roll, the pasta special (which came with an onion roll), a side salad, and my daughter got the waffles. My only request with the pasta was no prawns. Our food took about an hour (or more) to come out, and as you can see my pasta had prawns on it. They offered to take it back, but there was no way I would wait another hour so we kept it and I just picked them out. I will tell you, our waitress did her best and the homemade thousand island dressing and food were top notch. The service was just super slow and the restaurant was pretty slammed. read more

Super cute spot for brunch with unique Scandinavian inspired dishes. Came on a Saturday around 10am and waited about 15-20m to get seated. We enjoyed the cozy layout and rounded windows. Our server was kind and took our order right away since we already decided what we wanted while we waited. Got the norwegian omelette off the specials menu and scandinavian breakfast to share. The omelette was flavorful, filled with shrimp, and delicious! It came with some fruit which was nice and refreshing. The scandinavian breakfast had eggs, hashbrowns, red trout, and toast which was all good too. Fish was standard and not very flavored but had a nice tartar sauce to go with it. Liked that the toast was cut in small pieces. Overall would return if I'm ever visiting SLC again! read more
As cute and unique as this diner is, my past few visits here have been mediocre at best. My boyfriend ordered the chicken and waffles and while the chicken tasted okay, the waffles were not good. People like waffles because the texture is different from pancakes, but this waffle's texture was entirely indistinguishable from a pancake. A good waffle should have a slightly crispy exterior and a soft interior, but this waffle was the same soft texture throughout. In other words, it was a waffle-shaped pancake. I ordered the salmon benedict dish and was sorely disappointed when not one but BOTH of the poached eggs were overcooked. The yolks were not runny at all. The hollandaise sauce also had an odd taste so I ended up not finishing the dish. Even though the ambiance is cute and service is friendly, it's not enough to compensate for the food especially considering the pricing. Hoping the kitchen can turn things around because there's so much potential! read more
"American brunch food with a hint of Scandinavia" This is not a place for everyone. If you're looking for a place with bold flavors and exciting ideas, Finns will seem underwhelming. Overall, I think the food is well made with attention to details. It's light and simple. I especially liked the hash brown, crispy without all the grease. The French toast was yummy as well. The ambiance is nice - large shaped windows, simple beautiful furnitures, and outdoor seating. It's a quaint place given its long history in the city. But if it wasn't for that, I think there's not much that cannot be found in other restaurants around town. I think Finns is one of those places I don't love and wouldn't recommend or take my friends to go, but will revisit personally on a slow morning when I don't mind overpaying for something standard and simple. Gonna be rare for me but I'm glad I now have a place for such a mood and occasion read more

So delicious!! Definitely recommend. Visiting family from out of town. Colors on the plate don't look too exciting, but quality & flavors were just right. Everything was fresh and tasty. Loved the cardamom in the waffles, complemented perfectly with the sour cream and wild lingonberries. Couldn't finish it all, so savored the leftovers at home later in the day. Also, kids menu was great too... just enough food and the kiddos loved it. Annabelle was a wonderful server, very helpful and responsive. All in all, a wonderful meal and experience. read more

Came for brunch with some friends and had a great experience. The parking lot is a bit small but you can find parking around the area on the street. We sat out on the charming patio surrounded by rose bushes, it was lovely! The staff was super friendly and very attentive. They took really good care of us which definitely added to the overall experience. I went with the classic French toast. It had the perfect hint of cinnamon and the syrup was delicious! Seemed like they made it fresh in house. read more
I have to say, for all the fanfare and the multitudes flocking to it, we were pretty underwhelmed. The team there is super nice and really hustle. The food tasted great and was honestly a decent value. The issue is first, the super long wait for food (they say they make it as it's ordered and to be patient) which is fine, but then, the eye-appeal just doesn't meet expectations after the wait. It honestly looks like a homemade plate. Maybe nitpicking, but seriously... 30 minute wait for an order of French Toast and a Turkey Reuben. I was going to get The Scandinavian Breakfast but they were sold out of trout. So I opted for Finn's Reuben. Still a signature dish, but... Anyway, it's not ridiculously good, but it's definitely solid and, if you've got the time, it's worth it. read more

What is there to say? When you find a local place that has a very loyal customer base, and the staff know the names and orders as they walk in the door? You know you have found a GEM. Service was top notch, no pressure, all fun and relaxed. Super clean, and great setting. The mean was fantastic, suggestions were great, but still no pressure to order anything if were not sure. Made changes as I asked, and came out quick and pipping hot. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone in the area. read more

Our server was friendly and funny. The food was better than I expected from glancing at the menu- I had the veggie sandwich and my friend had The Pyttipanni. Both were delicious. We also split a pancake on the side- it was a good pancake! The ambiance of the inside was nice and quaint and there is a little cute patio to dine outside. read more
My favorite spot in the Valley! I love it here and my server Jose was awesome. I'd request him every time if he's working. I got the Eggs Benedict and it's to die for. They also have really good pastries that you can pair with one of their amazing lattes! What are you waiting for? read more
