This is an amazing find. I sat at the counter and I felt like I was watching an episode of Cheers. The customers are regulars. Everyone knows everyone's name and story and was catching up over breakfast. One gentleman even brought in a stash of huge zucchini squash... like the size of my thighs... to give to the waitresses. We've been here twice now since moving to Taylorsville and really appreciate the old school feel of it as it reminds us of a breakfast place in our hometown that is long gone. It's a casual place where you seat yourself. The decorations on the wall are fun and cheeky. The coffee guy is ON IT and does not let you run out. Servers are kind and food is prompt. This seems like a place where everyone knows your name . Me and boyfriend came here on a Thursday morning and it was fairly busy . We got told we can sit anywhere so we choose a booth in the back . As soon as we sat down we got asked what kind of drinks we would like and I decided on a coffee and orange juice . They kept the coffee refills coming and you can tell the on is freshly squeezed . I ordered the omelette which came with hashbrowns and I got a blueberry pancake. The omelette was massive and had the perfect amount of seasoning and the hash browns had the perfect amount of crispness . The pancakes was pretty good and buttery . I've been eating here for years but it's been a while since my last visit. A coworker and I decided to try the French dip. It was super meaty and came with a good amount of fries. The fries were the fresh cut variety and dripping, soaked in oil. I couldn't finish them because it was just too much grease. Service was interesting. The guy that took our drink order was super friendly. Another employee I asked a question of was just miserable. The interior is pretty grimy. My doctor told me that I need to boost my iron so I ordered Liver and onions through Door Dash from Ogies, now don't get me wrong I truly love Ogies but this was not how I remember it being cooked before. I received 2 breaded long liver patties with brown gravy and the onions on top. It was dipped in bread crumbs and baked like a chicken fried steak only baked. Needless to say I was very disappointed I was looking forward to fried liver cooked with the onions for flavor. Big portions!! Went here for brunch and we were glad they had both breakfast, lunch and mexican options. Once a month for the past 10 years our group has been going to Ogies for breakfast, that is until four months ago. When we arrive, we have been going to the back of the restaurant, even though there is a rope blocking off the area. This is the only place that can accommodate 12 people together. The last time we went, a woman (not the owner) came from the front of the cafe and proceeded to scream at us saying the area was closed. She made us move to four tables in the middle of the cafe. No sooner we were seated, when they opened the area where we had been sitting for two people. Our group was incensed, and the guys have refused to go back. We usually spend over $24 per person so they have been missing out of appx. $280 + tip each time we went. This week, we are going to try the cafe again. If we encounter the same rudeness and embarrassment, it will end our eating at Ogies forever. read more

You want a second large cup of OJ to go? Here, have one. Coffee until you're wide wake? Another one on the house. Don't want hash? Substitute it with fruits. Don't want the buttery toast or pancake? Stopped on the way out of town (I travel for a living) and had a half order of French toast with a side of bacon. Glad I decided on a half order, as I would never have finished a full one! Their French toast is made with sourdough bread and it's thick and extremely tasty. Instead of giving you a squeeze bottle of maple syrup, they serve it in a bowl with warmed maple syrup in it; perfect for dipping. The 4 slices of bacon were thick cut, and well salted...just the way I like it. Their coffee is good, too, although I'm hard to please on coffee so I don't usually review coffee at restaurants. I've been coming here decades, but honestly, I can't stand the place anymore and it has nothing to do with the food. It's the customers and their horrible manners. If it isn't some old guy habitually coughing and hacking up phlegm, its people talking loudly (often on speaker) or watching videos at high volume on their phones. Sure, this is a problem with most restaurants, but the patrons here take it to all-time levels of not giving a fuck. Today, I did what I normally do; if someone is loud and disruptive, I move. However, moving to the opposite end of the restaurant managed to be even worse. What is wrong with people? Why is socially inappropriate behavior amplified at this restaurant? We asked for coffee with our breakfast and our cups were never dry. The second our cups dipped below the full line, there was our server, refilling it to the brim. The breakfast food is magnificent. It's diner breakfast done right. Everything looks and smells amazing and comes at an unbelievably fair price. (The biscuits and gravy is hands-down the best I've had in a long time.)
