Great espresso prepared well, paired with a subtle ube that made for a delicious drink. I also had a chia pudding cup, which was tasty. The venue is good for doing some work or chatting with a friend; not too quiet, not too loud. Bring headphones if some ambient noise is going to be an issue, and you'll be fine. read more

My experience at Cupla was so disappointing. I stopped by on Friday afternoon with a couple of friends, and we all disliked our drinks. I got an Ube White Latte. I'm a huge ube fan and generally like white espresso, but I didn't enjoy my drink. Overall, my latte tasted more like a watered-down ube milk. There was virtually no espresso flavor. I know white espresso is milder in flavor, but I really didn't taste anything. I took a sip of my friend's Brown Sugar Fig Latte. It was also so watery. I was looking forward to finally trying Cupla after hearing great things from friends, but sadly it did not live up to my expectations. It is really cute inside with plenty of seating. Checked out a lively coffee spot in downtown Salt Lake called Cupla Coffee. I went on a weekday morning and there were about 10 people ahead of me, but the line moved quickly. The staff was very friendly, took their time recommending one of their house-made syrups, and still kept things moving fast. I also tried a blueberry old fashioned donut, and it was tender, bright, and really tasty. My drink was great too, and the whole place had a warm, welcoming vibe. I'd definitely come back. read more

Every time I've walked past this spot, it's been busy, so I finally stopped in to see what the hype was about. No surprise, it was still busy, but thankfully there's plenty of seating, which makes it a solid place get some work done. I kept it simple with an iced Americano; smooth, strong, and exactly what I needed. The dessert selection wasn't anything to rave about. Overall ambiance is nice; comfortable, lively. That said, prices felt a little steep for what you get compared to other coffee shops nearby. Overall, a good café for coffee and productivity, just maybe not the best bang for your buck. read more

This is a charming, comfortable coffee shop with absolutely beautiful pastries and a better than average breakfast and lunch menu. Lines can get long because the place is popular. The coffee drinks were delicious. The donuts and bagels are fresh. I would have loved to have tried one of their breakfast or lunch creations but those will have to wait until the next time. As far as I can tell, it's street parking only. But this is good coffee and very good food options in an inviting spot. The high reviews are warranted. read more

I'm in town for business and stopped for a vanilla latte to kickstart my day. The setting of this coffee shop is perfect with books on the wall, brick and smoke seating. Was such a hard choice because several sounded fantastic but I went with the Frankincense Mocha with almond milk which was fantastic. The interior is a bit eclectic. There's a lot going on, but none of it really matches. There's a fun game shelf to play while you enjoy your treats. Since I was going to enjoy my breakfast there, they gave me my drink then a number for my food. Another employee brought out my bagel and cream cheese. I ended up looking at the menu later and it did say toasted but it wasn't but it was fine anyway. Iced Chai was good. I enjoyed a "culpa-coffee" from this place! Great coffee but it could have used a bit more caramel and the coffee wasn't very roasted or potent, which I like my coffee with those bitter notes. But the foam design they did was very impressive! I liked that artistic touch. In terms of the service, it wasn't the greatest, I'm guessing they were still training some workers so it's quite reasonable. This is a huge coffee shop also offering doughnuts (a delicious old-fashioned paired well with my coffee) and other bites.
