The chubby baker is now my new local sugar dealer! This place is DELICIOUS. Not to mention it's also a really super cute establishment! There's so much pink, and so many cute decorations! The owner/employee (?) Was really kind, helpful and patient (we were first timers.) We got the six pack of filled donuts. Coconut, ube, strawberry cream, sea salt chocolate, guava-tajin, and passion fruit. They are all so unique! I really enjoyed the strawberry cream one! It was so soft, fluffy and delicious. Like strawberry shortcake but 10 times better!! I will forever be dreaming of these donuts that's how amazing that one is. No freaking joke! (The lady behind the counter recommend it to me. ) Needless to say I will be going back, after all everyone deserves a sweet treat! I want to try more, they also have little cakes and some different flavored matchas that all look intriguing.
Wow! I was told to try this place from a friend that lives in the area. And boy it did not disappoint. The strawberries and cream donut was unreal, if anything you have to get that one. Inside the store was a fun, pink and has some seating inside. Highly recommend!
Really good!! All of the flavors were very distinct and different from what you typically see at a donut shop.
This is cute donut shop with a pink aesthetic and pretty desserts. I ordered an ube donut and a latte. I wasn't expecting the latte to be so sweet since I just ordered a plain latte, but it was really good so I didn't mind. The ube donut was just okay in my opinion, it had probably been sitting out for a while since I got it in the late afternoon. I liked the ube cream flavor but I would've preferred a little less cream to donut ratio.
My favorite donut place!! I loved the Asian fusion idea. American donuts are usually too sweet for me, but Chubby Baker's donuts were just right, not to mention the different flavors they offer -- passion fruit, blueberry lavender, ube, etc. I just wanted to try everything they got! The Strawberry & Cream was a must-try with a yummy cream that was light and fluffy. The passion fruit cream had a strong flavor - it was a bit too sour and sweet for me, but it was fun to try. The Ube cake was heavenly, though it was a bit pricer considering the small size. This is a really cute place with a bunch of roses on a wall; perfect for pictures, or an afternoon tea with friends. I'd recommend this place to everyone!
Really delicious! We got the strawberry and passion fruit flavor. The strawberry is definitely the best. It's light, airy, and it's not too sweet. Reminds me of a crème puff. I highly recommend this one! The passion fruit is good too but it is tart. Prices is a little over $10 for the two donuts. I wish I tried the other flavors. The May special was a Jasmine white chocolate. Worth a stop if you're in the area to grab some donuts!!
So much goodness!!! I don't have a picture of my favorite donut which is the brown butter donut. But I always eat it too quickly before I remember to take a picture!! The inside is so cute and the people who work there are so nice!
The collective palate of Salt Lake is evolving and Chubby Baker is answering the call for those of us with a sweet tooth. Refreshing to see pandan, Thai young coconut, ube, guava and lillikoi on a bakery menu. They have my favorite matcha latte in SLC so far. Also the strawberry donut is a stand out.
I am always find donut place when I travel. I love this place because their donut is not too sweet beautiful decorated. Their staff is friendly and I definitely come back to them when I visit Salt Lake City again.
Against popular opinion, this place just wasn't my favorite! The donuts were not the flavor profile I was expecting, and not in a good way. We got the passionfruit and the tiramisu donut. I was really disappointed in the service. The lady that I was ordering from seemed annoyed. Looking forward to go back soon and give it another try because I know people love this place!
Chubby Baker certainly lives up to the hype. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the options here. We got a box of six and we enjoyed them all. They are made with high quality ingredients and cooked perfectly. We enjoyed the blueberry & ube cream the most. With a friendly staff and adorable decorations it was super smooth to make our choices.
These donuts are so good, we're already planning on another stop before we leave to hea back home. The thick but fluffy inside texture, perfectly complemented by the slight crisp of the outside edges, the delicious fillings. Honestly I think I'm going to have to add some plain donuts to my order this time because the donuts themselves were THAT good even without all the bells and whistles. (But I think the Ferrero Rocher might have been my personal favorite!) This is also the cutest little shop, and was decked out with a pink Christmas tree and lights for the holidays. Check the hours, as we arrived a little before they opened at 10:30 on a Saturday. They definitely open later than most donut shops, but that bodes well for getting the ones you want if you're not an early riser!
Oh how I wish there were a Chubby Baker in the LA area! This place is the definition of CUTE! Such a wonderful array of donut flavors and treats, it's almost hard to make a choice! Luckily there were three of us to share a variety of donuts (guilt free!) the workers were so friendly and kind during our visit. We stuck around inside to enjoy the treats because it was raining and it was clean and plenty of space.
It's such a cute place to get baked goods, especially the donut kind. We got the gauva filed one and a cinnamon roll and it was amazing..the inside was very cute and cozy and the staff was super nice. The food was very filling and lots of flavor. There's outdoor seating to enjoy the weather when you can. read more
This is a super cute shop with beautiful pastries and interesting drinks. Service was wonderful. And you certainly will be chubby--or chubbier--if you make this place a habit. We tried a Ferrero Rocher chocolate-filled donut that was decadent. There were probably 25 other sweets I wanted to try in the case. The drinks were very well-made. We had a Tiramisu Latte that tasted just like you would expect, a fantastic Cloud Latte, and the famous Pink Drink which has a distinct bubble gum flavor and a vibrant pink color that is found nowhere in nature. Everything was top notch. I am not into sweets, normally, but they do sweet treats and sweet drinks well here. read more
Cute. Trendy. Expensive. Cashier was attentive. Absolutely no one else was inside. Ordered a banana Nutella croffle. Cashier did warn me about a 15min wait for the item, which was nice to know. Food was good, but nothing special in my estimation. Very rich. Probably something best to share with another person not as a stand alone breakfast. A bit of an awkward experience as the cashier kept staring at me while I ate. I probably won't be back. read more

I was hit with a donut craving while near downtown and checked Yelp to see what was open on a Sunday afternoon. Chubby Baker popped up, so I threw the address into my GPS and headed over. It's located in the cool 9th south area near other fun local businesses. The shop is small, but uses space wisely, incorporating fun photo backdrops, which I'm sure people frequently take advantage of. (I did!) The girl behind the counter awkwardly stood there when we walked in, not greeting us until we walked up to the cash register to place our order. She was friendly once we placed our order, but it did feel a little uncomfortable at first. Since it was late in the afternoon, there weren't a lot of options in the case, but we found a few things to try. My wife ordered the Chubby Tiger Cakebox and I got the brown butter donut. We also ordered a couple of the fizz drinks. By the time we left, we were jittery from all the sugar, but enjoyed our treats. read more

I was very intrigued by this donut shop, because of the unique donut flavors they invent and switch up every month. When I went I got to try their passion fruit donut, which had a tart glaze that was perfection. I also tried the brown butter donut and got coffee to go. The brown butter flavor was so yummy, the rich butter flavor balancing the sweetness of the donut. The service was prompt, and the space is decorated with dessert puns and lots of pink, including a cute accent wall covered in roses. There are some cozy corners you could curl up in for a chat or to get some work done as well. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the breadth of options and how much I enjoyed my visit! I will definitely be back. read more
Cute with tons of seating! I think it's a little on the expensive side but the quality is there! I think it's a welcoming environment and I think it's perfect and it's nice to be next to Loki coffee because then I can grab coffee and a star studded baked good from here! read more
We got to the bakery and wow so many yummy choices! We wanted it all but .... The strawberry & cream was so good Strawberry cheesecake bings donut - this months special donut was out of this world! Delicious! A must try bakery if you're in SLC. The people inside taking orders are very nice. There are a few spots inside to sit at but many people seem to picnic on the lawn outside. Street parking can be hard to find because this is a popular area, but the sweet treats are worth a few turns around the block. The tiramisu latte is sweet, but so good. I also tried the brown butter donut and Thai young coconut donut, both were great. I wished the coconut had a little more flavor but I'm still thinking about the brown butter donut ! I haven't had a donut flavor like that one anywhere else. read more

First timer here. Chubby Tiger Cake I wish had a balance of cake to cream ratio. It was mostly cream with hints of bananas and a thin layer of chocolate cake. Thai Young Coconut Donut was nice and light and not too sweet. I am thai and love coconut so I wanted to try this donut. Also loved that it has coconut meat in the cream as well. Passion Fruit Cream Cheese Donut was very tart as passion fruits are. I wish they added some sweetness to balance out the tartness as it would also bring out more passion fruit flavor. Caramel Apple Donut was ok. Sweet apple pie filling plus the sweet caramel glaze together made the donut overly sweet for me. I would go back and try the strawberry cream donut next time. read more

If you can't find street parking, there's parking in the back. Place is small yet roomy, clean, and cute with a few small tables. They also have a nice flower wall for pics. Staff were all welcoming, friendly and greeted us promptly. They were kind to explain and answer our questions and other customers. Our order also came out quickly. Today we got lychee fizz, hot americano and a chubby tiger cake. Lychee fizz was perfectly sweet and bubbly. Also had three whole lychee, yum! The cake was Perfect! Soft, not dry, and not too sweet! Who knew chocolate cake, fresh banana, biscoff and whipped cream paired so well together! read more

I was excited to support a local Asian American owned bakery! Sadly when we got there, not all flavors were ready, so we grabbed some flavors we didn't care as much about - blueberry lavender and hazelnut chocolate (forgot the exact name). The donuts were super soft. The chocolate custard/pudding in the chocolate donut was delicious and not too sweet. The blueberry lavender donut didn't impress me and was kind of too sweet, not much lavender flavor. I would return to try their more unique flavors like ube and passion fruit. Orignally 3 stars for me but added an extra star for variety. read more
Cute spot! Saw a post about this place so decided to come try it out! Big fan of UBE so I was excited that they had that flavor. The ferrero one was delicious it wasn't too sweet but was full of flavor. Must try that one for sure! I did love the ube cream as well! Everything was soft and chewy and filled with flavor! Definitely will come here again! read more

Almost a perfect 5 stars from me... the only thing holding this place back is accessibility. Full time wheelchair user here. There is no accessible parking. You have to get through gravel and dirt to get to the ramp but at least there is a ramp but once inside.... There is still a stair in order to get to the bakery counter... I could not stop in on my own without someone to help so boo for that. Inclusion for all should account for disabilities. As for the desserts... they are good! Like really good. I had what I think was called a tiger tail. Chocolate cake, cookie butter, fresh cream it was damn delicious. read more

One of our clients brought in several boxes from Chubby Baker and I SERIOUSLY fell of the wagon! I only took photos of the two donuts that I ate while at work, but I was so lucky to bring a few home too "for my family". Ha ha ha. I have wanted to try Chubby Baker for a long time, but to be honest balked a little bit at the cost. I don't mind spending the money if I KNOW a place is amazing, but this was my first time actually sampling the donuts and now I know that they are SO WORTH IT. Ferrero Roche tastes just like you imagine it would! And I loved the Ube Donut! I am Filipina so Ube is a flavor I am familiar with, but for those who aren't familiar with Ube it has a somewhat nutty vanilla flavor to it. It is just a lot more fun since it is purple. :) The donuts I sampled and didn't take pictures of were not filled donuts, but ring donuts with yummy frosting on them. They cost a little less, but were just as tasty. I had the brown butter and blueberry lavender. Blueberry lavender was amazing! I would order that one again and again. Chubby Baker also has cakes and drinks that look incredible. I will most definitely budget all this sugar into my diet so I don't die. LMAO. read more

My friend brought us here to try a specific donut, but they ran out; we went on a Saturday around 4pm. This place is small and cute, not meant for big groups. Whoever was on aux that day was on great, keep them haha. They have a few photo spots to take pictures, too! Their donuts have a light crisp that I thoroughly enjoyed. I loved the ube one most... but I love ube in general so I'm biased. I'd say the strawberry would be a good staple to try if it's your first time. If you're more inclined to trying new things, passion fruit is more tart and the guava has kind of a small spicy kick. Enjoy with friends! read more
Chubby Baker is delicious! The Pina colada monthly special pastry was really good. My favorite monthly one has been the peach one in August. The brown butter donuts are good for a really simple donut. They have a really cute photo wall, and when we were in the other day the cashier offered to snap a photo but my son and his friend were not into it. read more
