This is a super cute shop with beautiful pastries and interesting drinks. Service was wonderful. And you certainly will be chubby--or chubbier--if you make this place a habit. We tried a Ferrero Rocher chocolate-filled donut that was decadent. There were probably 25 other sweets I wanted to try in the case. The drinks were very well-made. We had a Tiramisu Latte that tasted just like you would expect, a fantastic Cloud Latte, and the famous Pink Drink which has a distinct bubble gum flavor and a vibrant pink color that is found nowhere in nature. The chubby baker is now my new local sugar dealer! This place is DELICIOUS. Not to mention it's also a really super cute establishment! There's so much pink, and so many cute decorations! The owner/employee (?) Was really kind, helpful and patient (we were first timers.) We got the six pack of filled donuts. Coconut, ube, strawberry cream,sea salt chocolate, guava-tajin, and passion fruit. They are all so unique! I really enjoyed the strawberry cream one! It was so soft, fluffy and delicious. Like strawberry shortcake but 10 times better!! I will forever be dreaming of these donuts that's how amazing that one is. No freaking joke! American donuts are usually too sweet for me, but Chubby Baker's donuts were just right, not to mention the different flavors they offer -- passion fruit, blueberry lavender, ube, etc. I just wanted to try everything they got! The Strawberry & Cream was a must-try with a yummy cream that was light and fluffy. The passion fruit cream had a strong flavor - it was a bit too sour and sweet for me, but it was fun to try. The staff was super friendly, offering helpful recommendations and answering all our questions about the menu and customization options. We tried the gooey chocolate cake and the Nutella Ferrero Rocher donut, which was filled with Nutella pudding. The donut was incredibly flaky and rich, definitely requires a few napkins for clean up when you're done eating (in the best way). The gooey chocolate cake was served chilled and had the perfect balance of richness without being overly sweet. It was moist and decadent and something that could be shared easy My only wish? A bit more seating. The few tables available were small with limited chairs, so it's not the most ideal spot if you're planning to hang out for long. Really delicious! We got the strawberry and passion fruit flavor. The strawberry is definitely the best. It's light, airy, and it's not too sweet. Reminds me of a crème puff. I highly recommend this one! The passion fruit is good too but it is tart. Prices is a little over $10 for the two donuts. I wish I tried the other flavors. These donuts are so good, we're already planning on another stop before we leave to hea back home. The thick but fluffy inside texture, perfectly complemented by the slight crisp of the outside edges, the delicious fillings. Honestly I think I'm going to have to add some plain donuts to my order this time because the donuts themselves were THAT good even without all the bells and whistles. (But I think the Ferrero Rocher might have been my personal favorite!) This is also the cutest little shop, and was decked out with a pink Christmas tree and lights for the holidays. When I went I got to try their passion fruit donut, which had a tart glaze that was perfection. I also tried the brown butter donut and got coffee to go. The brown butter flavor was so yummy, the rich butter flavor balancing the sweetness of the donut. The service was prompt, and the space is decorated with dessert puns and lots of pink, including a cute accent wall covered in roses. I was hit with a donut craving while near downtown and checked Yelp to see what was open on a Sunday afternoon. Chubby Baker popped up, so I threw the address into my GPS and headed over. It's located in the cool 9th south area near other fun local businesses. The shop is small, but uses space wisely, incorporating fun photo backdrops, which I'm sure people frequently take advantage of. (I did!) The girl behind the counter awkwardly stood there when we walked in, not greeting us until we walked up to the cash register to place our order. She was friendly once we placed our order, but it did feel a little uncomfortable at first. Since it was late in the afternoon, there weren't a lot of options in the case, but we found a few things to try. My wife ordered the Chubby Tiger Cakebox and I got the brown butter donut. Delicious! A must try bakery if you're in SLC. The people inside taking orders are very nice. There are a few spots inside to sit at but many people seem to picnic on the lawn outside. Street parking can be hard to find because this is a popular area, but the sweet treats are worth a few turns around the block. The tiramisu latte is sweet, but so good. I also tried the brown butter donut and Thai young coconut donut, both were great. I wished the coconut had a little more flavor but I'm still thinking about the brown butter donut ! First timer here. Chubby Tiger Cake I wish had a balance of cake to cream ratio. It was mostly cream with hints of bananas and a thin layer of chocolate cake. Thai Young Coconut Donut was nice and light and not too sweet. I am thai and love coconut so I wanted to try this donut. Also loved that it has coconut meat in the cream as well. Passion Fruit Cream Cheese Donut was very tart as passion fruits are. I wish they added some sweetness to balance out the tartness as it would also bring out more passion fruit flavor. Caramel Apple Donut was ok. Sweet apple pie filling plus the sweet caramel glaze together made the donut overly sweet for me. I would go back and try the strawberry cream donut next time. read more

Chubby Baker is one of my fave donut places in SLC! They have delicious unique donuts, drinks, and cakes! I love the pandan cake, ube cake, tiger cake, and the strawberry cream donut. Sadly when we got there, not all flavors were ready, so we grabbed some flavors we didn't care as much about - blueberry lavender and hazelnut chocolate (forgot the exact name). The blueberry lavender donut didn't impress me and was kind of too sweet, not much lavender flavor. I would return to try their more unique flavors like ube and passion fruit. Almost a perfect 5 stars from me... the only thing holding this place back is accessibility. Full time wheelchair user here. There is no accessible parking. You have to get through gravel and dirt to get to the ramp but at least there is a ramp but once inside.... There is still a stair in order to get to the bakery counter... I could not stop in on my own without someone to help so boo for that. Inclusion for all should account for disabilities. As for the desserts... they are good! Like really good. One of our clients brought in several boxes from Chubby Baker and I SERIOUSLY fell of the wagon! I only took photos of the two donuts that I ate while at work, but I was so lucky to bring a few home too "for my family". Ha ha ha. I don't mind spending the money if I KNOW a place is amazing, but this was my first time actually sampling the donuts and now I know that they are SO WORTH IT. Ferrero Roche tastes just like you imagine it would! And I loved the Ube Donut! I am Filipina so Ube is a flavor I am familiar with, but for those who aren't familiar with Ube it has a somewhat nutty vanilla flavor to it. It is just a lot more fun since it is purple. :) The donuts I sampled and didn't take pictures of were not filled donuts, but ring donuts with yummy frosting on them. They cost a little less, but were just as tasty. I had the brown butter and blueberry lavender. Blueberry lavender was amazing! I would order that one again and again. I just wanted to take the time to review this bakery because I had the cutest time there. My baby and I walked there this morning for the first time and the worker was absolutely adorable and very kind. She gave my baby some cut up fruit while I chowed down a croffle- which was amazing. The place had really cozy vibes and It really did make my day. I would totally recommend this place if you have the chance to try it out.
