BANANA CARAMEL PECAN with side home fries & bacon
    Keyona D.

The reviews for this place were glowing, so I had to see for myself! Even though it's a biscuit spot, the banana caramel waffle was the star of the show--perfectly crispy, buttery, and topped with fresh bananas without being overly sweet. The home fries and bacon were elite-tier sides, though the mocha was a bit weak for my taste. The staff was a little awkward and didn't check in much, but the food more than made up for it. I'll definitely be back to finally give those biscuits a try!

*2.5 stars rounded up to 3 After seeing tons of videos on social media about this place, finally got to check it out -- and was not impressed. The food was not great. The only really yummy thing about this place was the homemade jam bar -- every single jam was delicious!! You stand in line to order and then find a seat. On a weekend when it's busy (and the line is to the door), I thought this awkward because almost all of the tables are situated between people standing in line waiting to order. There is outside seating, but it wasn't warm enough to sit outside. (The staff does a good job to clear tables as soon as someone leaves which is good!) I ordered a skillet and it was so basic and bland. The only thing that gave it any flavor was the cheese. Menu said caramelized onion and it was just diced, barely cooked onions. Basic scrambled eggs piled on some cheese, with chunks of uncooked tomatoes, diced onions, and bland potatoes. The biscuit that came on the Benedict was hard, the egg was overcooked, and there wasn't much sauce so by the end it was very dry. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things, but we paid $40 for two meals and one biscuit. Needless to say, this place is a pass for me.

Great tasting biscuits and the jams are all homemade, made fresh weekly. Great coffee too

Stumbled upon this delicious brunch place. All three of us enjoyed our food. I had the classic breakfast which included a biscuit. There is a jam bar and I also had a delicious blackberry latte. Both of my kids had waffle stacks that were so yummy.

Atomic Biscuit is definitely worth a stop if you love big, bold biscuit-based breakfast creations. We tried the Filthy Animal and the Mountain Man, and both were fantastic. Hearty, flavorful, and built on biscuits that are buttery, fluffy, and full of flavor. I am kicking myself for not trying the French Toast! It's a seat-yourself, order-at-the-counter setup, so expect a line, especially during peak hours. The wait wasn't bad, though, because the food came out surprisingly fast. Interaction with staff is pretty minimal, but we never felt like we needed more. We also loved the dog-friendly, semi-covered patio. It was a great spot to enjoy the beautiful weather. All in all, Atomic Biscuit nails the combo of great food, a laid-back vibe, and little extras (like the jam bar and patio) that make it memorable and worth going back!

Amazing and kind service and great food. Everyone devoured what they ordered. The lavender vanilla latte is a new fave of mine! I also had the bubbles and jam (mimosa with jam) and it was delicious. I will keep coming back!

I came here for breakfast with my friend, and it was not at all busy. I got a biscuit with gravy, bacon, and eggs. My food was good! Like other reviews say, you order at the counter and then pick a table. It's kind of a self-serve place after your food is brought to you, which is fine by me. Service was friendly enough when we interacted. We ate in their outdoor area, which was really cute (just too hot as the morning progressed). Overall, a really good experience for me. Definitely give this place a go if you need some downtown breakfast.

They were very busy when we went on Saturday around noon. Not a lot of room to order. Because of this Service was hurried. The food was good, the biscuits are fresh daily and it smells amazing.

This food exceeded my expectations! It's order at the counter, and seat yourself style. We came at 9am and ordered the Go Atomic Omelette (4/5) and the Filthy Animal biscuit (5/5). I was worried the loaded biscuit with bacon, sausage gravy, fried chicken and hot honey would be too much but it was delicious! This was my first time here and always saw it on the way home from Loki Coffee, so went with friends finally and even got some yummy jams for the other half of my generous biscuit. By the time we left, the line was out the door and on the sidewalk! I also tried the lavender vanilla latte and it was great and not too sweet like most Utah coffee shops make their overly sweet drinks!

Good food with some unusual coffee and biscuit combinations. They have a great little jelly bar to supplement and a cute little cafe. I really liked mine. Hubs thought his was good just not epic. Self serve at the counter.

Atomic biscuit is a solid brunch choice. We ordered the chicken and waffles and the Filthy Animal (fried chicken, bacon, and Monterey Jack on a biscuit smothered in gravy), and vanilla lattes. Both dishes were good. The lattes were great, they had the perfect amount of sweetness. There is a jam bar in the corner with 5 different jams and butter. The jam options were blueberry lemon zest, strawberry, spiced cherry, rosemary mango, and sweet potato chai. The three I had were really good, I would come back for a biscuit and jam(s) alone!

Came early on a Tuesday morning - street parking wasn't a problem at 830 am on a weekday. Great location on 9th South & 4th east and they have outdoor seating. Everything you need is available in the patio area - utensils- napkins- condiments along with trash can & tubs for used dishes- hint you need to bus your own tables ! We came for the biscuits and we weren't disappointed- eggs cooked to perfection- county ham delicious food was excellent and we enjoyed our meal . The only interaction we had with the service staff was at the counter to order our food and when food was served at our table ! Can't speak to the customer service they are just there! Tipping is an option but hard to tip the 25% which is one of the options when you pay ! Overall we had a good meal - easy parking

    THE FILTHY ANIMAL and MONTE
    Rebecca C.

The biscuits are freshly made and so soft, food comes out quick, cute vibe and the staff is very friendly! I tried the monte which was delicious and came with an interesting pineapple jalapeño jam which I surprisingly enjoyed. I ended up getting an extra biscuit to sample their homemade jams and I had no regrets. My favorite jams were the strawberry and the peach jams! They also had an interesting mango rosemary and blueberry lavender jam that are also delicious and definitely worth trying! This is a great breakfast/brunch spot especially for a biscuit lover. So yummy!

Well, I must have loved it since I went twice!! First day tried the BLT as well as a chocolate croissant which is to seriously die for, it is a must. Kiaya (lord I hope that is right) was my server and she was excellent. I had a Pellegrino Blood Orange soda along with my lunch and loved the salad dressing as well! The sandwich was with 1/2 salad and 1/2 potatoes, yum yum. The second time, I had Connor (he will remember Sheldon) who served me. He was awesome. I tried out a blueberry mimosa, an iced mocha and a water (I had been walking a lot and was tired and thirsty, don't judge). Then I just wanted that dang BLT again! I also ordered another almond chocolate croissant (I know, I know, should have tried something else). Well I did get a cookie too! My lunch was taking a little long, so they also brought out a couple of pastry items to try as well, so yum yum! The Chocolate Macaroon was also so wonderful and I cannot say enough about this quaint spot. It did fill up during lunch on the Thursday, so get there early or late! PROS: Main street, easy access from transportation/offices Great selection of homemade pastries Nice choices for drinks (obviously, I tried a few) Super quaint bistro style inside Outside seating under shade and a tree Attentive and exceptional employees (CONNOR) CONS: Parking may be an issue, although some on-street parking available DON'T THINK, JUST GO! Lots of choices.

Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and exactly the right amount of present (if you know what I mean). I enjoyed the maitake on rice with cashew cream and it was delicious. The salty mushrooms were mellowed by the chewy rice. The cashew cream gave a nice variation in texture. I didn't leave a morsel behind. The harissa carrots were nice as well. They are cooked soft and have a moderate spice level that is again contrasted by the mild labneh and tahini base. I had to save the rolls with herb better for last. Oh. My. God. These were divine. I'm a sucker for bread of any kind but these are what the Hawaiian dinner rolls wish they could be. They are perfectly pillowy and the herb butter just elevates them. Do not miss these for more "sophisticated" fare. If I lived here, I would definitely come back. Everything was considered and well-executed. Bravo

We were visiting Salt Lake City from out of town and decided to have dinner at Urban Hill after…read morereading the outstanding reviews. Like many people, we were excited to dine at a restaurant led by a chef who has beaten Bobby Flay. We arrived for our 8:15 p.m. reservation and were seated promptly. Unfortunately, from that point on, the service became increasingly confusing. Our server seemed flustered from the beginning and even commented that she wanted to make sure everything was right for our experience. When ordering drinks, I asked for a root beer and was told they had one. A few minutes later I was informed they actually didn't and was given a Dr Pepper instead. No big deal--I didn't want to make an issue of it. The bigger problems started with the food service. There were three of us. Two ordered the filet, and one ordered the chicken. The first entrées brought to our table weren't ours at all and had to be taken away. When our actual meals arrived, they were still mixed up. I was served the chicken despite ordering the filet. The same thing happened with dessert. We ordered two Baked Alaskas and one Lemon Cake. Again, the desserts were delivered to the wrong people. These weren't major issues individually, but when they happen repeatedly throughout one meal, it takes away from what should have been an outstanding dining experience. Now for the positive... The kitchen absolutely delivered. The filet was cooked perfectly. The chicken was outstanding. Presentation was beautiful. The Baked Alaska was one of the best I've had. The food easily earns five stars. Unfortunately, the front-of-house experience did not. To make matters worse, after I finished the Dr Pepper that I hadn't originally ordered, my glass sat empty for roughly 45 minutes. No refill was offered, and I eventually had to ask for another beverage while dessert was being served. One final observation... The receipt included an optional surcharge for the back-of-house staff. I understand it could be removed upon request, but I don't believe guests should be placed in the position of deciding how restaurant employees are compensated. Pay your team well, price the menu accordingly, and let guests simply enjoy their meal. Urban Hill has one of the most talented kitchens I've experienced in quite some time. If the service can reach the same level as the food, this restaurant would easily deserve five stars.
