Salmon with a sweet sauce - so good
    Dawn K.

We came before the dinner rush, so not busy at all. We told the staff it was our first time and they were all so nice explaining every dish, very friendly. We started with the following appetizers Devils eggs- so good with that crispy pancetta and caviar! Killer shrimp- excellent, crispy and great flavor Beet and goat salad - delish! Loved it Cauliflower- this one fell a little short, not a lot of flavor and the florets were too big. Chicken thighs- amazing, that Alabama sauce is TDF Sweet salmon - so yummy, again very good sauce We definitely want to come back to try other menu items.

Holy shit!! When I tell you I want everything on the menu, I want everything on the menu. We ordered... short rib steak, crispy chicken skins, killer shrimp, pork Belly, black rice and oxtail risotto and two drinks!! Our server was Nicky - who was awesome by the way. Food came out fresh, HOT and tasty!! These are about the very best chicken skins I have ever eaten in my life ... and I'm black! The smoked honey that's served with it was divine ... we also dipped the pork belly in it and the shrimp. Nicky brought us a new portion of honey for our steak and spicy tots!! I love when we travel and are able to experience new takes on food. This place is a plus. When in Salt Lake we will surely visit again!!

Great staff and location. The establishment is roomy, clean and food was great. We came by for a corporate event and was not disappointed. Everything was great. The mains had steak and chicken. I don't know what was in the chicken but it was friggin amazing. Would come back again.

Burnt end hotdogs in BBQ sauce

Everything was so flavorful that we returned 2 days later for a quick brunch on our way out of Salt Lake City. Our son had the Mac'n Cheese twice. The burnt end hotdogs were bathed in a tasty barbecue sauce, and the rainbow cauliflower had several tastes emanating at the same time. You have to try the fried chicken skins in toasted honey. Overall a good selection and amazing tastes.

The food was excellent! Bacon Jam was my favorite. bacon was diced into very small pieces and cooked with a sweet, sour and salty sauce. Spread hot with cheese on the crispy bread, so tasty! The wild mushroom flatbread was DD 's favorite. And the Chicken thigh was cooked crispy outside and tender and juicy inside. DH loves it. The waiter was very friendly. Like the interior too.

Great little place in Downtown Salt Lake. I had a flight out and decided to drop by with my boyfriend for a quick bite before the airport on a weekend in October 2024. Reservations via OpenTable made it easy but the dining room was mostly empty at 4pm anyway. We had the pick of seating and made sure we could see the football game on the TVs at the bar. Our waiter was very sweet and daresay, a bit self-degrading! At any rate, service was fast and we ordered bites to share Tapas-style from the menu which included: *Deviled Eggs *Pork Belly *Watermelon salad *Gyro Tacos There was no room left for dessert! that was about all. I loved the deviled eggs with caviar (so fancy) and the watermelon salad the best. I liked the Pork Belly but boyfriend begged to differ since he's more of an aficionado but I stick by my five-star review! The Gyro tacos hit the spot with some more protein - they were filling! I'd come back if I was in the area: I'm sure a lot of power lunches are conducted here being so close to businesses. I'm not sure about parking since we Uber'd, but there are plenty of lots around downtown.

Incredible experience. Loved the vibe loved the food. Everything was AMAZING. Burnt end hot dogs so good.

Lovely high end and relaxed atmosphere

What an amazing meal served to us by the amazing Nicky and the chef! We had lovely deviled eggs then the pork chop was out of this world- it was cooked perfectly with a crispy crust, beautifully moist center with freshly made chutney and parsnip purée. Bob the manager was very helpful to both his team and the patrons. This is one of my new favs!

As we stepped inside, we…read morewere led through a shadowy corridor to the back of the restaurant--a secluded alcove whispered to be reserved for lovers. A bottle of crimson wine, which my husband had so thoughtfully requested when making the reservation, awaited us like a silent sentinel on our table. The moment the wine kissed my lips, rich and velvety like a dark secret, I knew this night would etch itself into the marrow of my memory. Surrounding us was an enchanting gothic ambiance: flickering candlelight cast trembling shadows upon the stone walls, and the air was heavy with the heady perfume of roses and aged wood. The entire room breathed intimacy, like a cathedral of indulgence. Upon first glance at the menu--gilded and inked in an elegant, archaic script--my mouth watered with almost sinful anticipation. Everything looked positively decadent, but alas, I knew I must show restraint, lest I be consumed by my own ravenous desire. Our waiter appeared--Gehrig, a vision of aesthetic perfection, with cascading brunette curls and eyes that seemed to hold ancient, knowing mischief. He recommended that we begin with three to four plates. We chose the baked brie, lobster ravioli, Eva's steak, and Eva's pizza. Each dish arrived like an offering to some delicious pagan ritual, and my husband and I devoured them as though spellbound. With each bite, we released low, primal murmurs of pleasure--"mmmmmmm"--echoing like chants in a haunted chapel. For dessert, we indulged in the crème brûlée, its sugar crust cracking like old parchment beneath our spoons, revealing the creamy, golden heart beneath. Beside it sat a decadent marvel: a dark chocolate cup filled with warm, molten ganache, crowned with scorched marshmallows that looked like ghostly little clouds singed by candlelight. As I took a bite, the toasted sweetness gave way to a rich, velvety darkness that coated my tongue like a forbidden spell--smoky, sweet, and utterly divine. It was less a dessert and more an incantation, casting a spell that sealed the evening in delicious eternity. Throughout our two-hour reverie, sweet Gehrig floated in and out of our little sanctum, always arriving precisely when needed, as though summoned by some invisible incantation. His enthusiastic spirit and hauntingly bright smile elevated the evening to something almost supernatural. Eva wouldn't be Eva without Gehrig--our charming guide through this gothic culinary dreamscape. My husband and I agreed that all future anniversaries must be consecrated at Eva. After the dark and stormy year we had endured, it was this night--bathed in candlelight and cloaked in enchantment--that rekindled the sacred fire between us. Thank you, Eva, for the most unforgettable night we could have ever imagined. Here's to many more nights of shadowed magic, shared laughter, and delicious resurrection.

The menu had a large variety of items that were specific to one "type" of food ! I loved that there were so many options to choose from. This is a restaurant that is a small dish/appetizer kind of place ! We had a great evening, enjoying different dishes in this small gem. Some food - like the meatballs - came out a bit cold which did diminish the deliciousness of the dish. However, dishes were not insanely unique, things you could find at other places. For the pricing, I would say the dishes could have been more interesting. The wine list is long, though there is not much by the glass. The reds we tried were good. The Crianza was my favorite, young and light but still flavorful, with a subtle dry finish. We ordered tortilla española, torta de cecina, patatas bravas, mejillones, and pinchos morunos. Everything had great flavor. There was some inconsistency with temperature. The patatas came out just warm, while other dishes were very hot. The pinchos morunos turned out to be more like a meatball on a stick. That may have been my misunderstanding, but when I see lamb pincho I expect grilled pieces of lamb. They were tasty, just more basic than I expected. For dessert we had churros. This may be personal preference, but I like to pick up a churro and dip it in chocolate without it breaking apart. These were more like a fried cake in the shape of a churro and required a spoon. They also have what looks like a very nice patio for good weather. I would be a bit concerned about speed of service if the patio is full, since the kitchen seems quite small. I feel like the hostess must have unexpectedly been out because the folks managing seating and reservations seemed a little lost. This was our first time here and I was pretty concerned about what the rest of our experience would be. We got to our table and then sat there for 10 minutes without any kind of greeting. Following the disorganization of getting seated, we weren't sure what was happening and almost left. I'm so glad we stayed. Once our server greeted us, it was smooth the rest of the evening. We ordered drinks (Old Fashioned and wine), both were excellent. Someone brought delicious soft rolls with olive oil and balsamic vinegar-excellent. We stuck with tapas and the portions were bigger than expected. We had a whole lineup of items we wanted, but filled up after three. We ordered a charcuterie plate that was an off menu special. Iberico and a truffle manchego cheese and a rosemary manchego cheese served with toasted baguette and grapes. It was delicious! We also ordered the Gambas Al ajillo salsa Roja (shrimp in a red sauce) and the Pulpo à la gallega (octopus). The shrimp were incredible. I could have eaten the sauce with a spoon. Okay, I DID eat the sauce with a spoon and then asked for more bread to sop it up. The octopus was a surprise. My husband ordered it and I was prepared to try a small bite. It was fantastic. The octopus was nicely chewy without being rubbery at all. And it was served with potatoes in a thin sauce that tasted like olive oil and paprika and onion. So good. We looked at the desserts and my heart said yes while my full stomach said no. I almost ordered the crème brûlée cake to go, but decided to come back another day. Our server (Zack) was great! I really think something happened with the hostess because the rest of the evening was so smooth. Very interesting interior. My parents had made reservations for an extended family dinner to celebrate some family birthdays. We hadn't seen my brother and sister-in-law for over 3 months, so I was REALLY looking forward to spending the evening with them. The food was good, although my son was disappointed that they didn't have the full charcuterie board that we had ordered back in the summer. My steak was cooked perfectly, but the au gratin potatoes were incredibly unevenly salty. Like so salty in a few spots, I actually nearly gagged. After a few bites, I gave up and left them on the plate. While we were finishing our entrees, our server came and said that she had noticed we brought gifts and told us that we might want to start opening them because they had a party of 25 coming and needed our table. I thought that was rather rude because several of us were still eating. But those who had finished their entrees started opening gifts. And our server is trying to quickly clear the table and knocked over my husband's glass of Coke which spilled onto his lap. She brought out a wet towel for him to use to clean up, but instead of politely handing it to him, she threw it across the table for him to catch. Soon she came back with the check, and I asked her, "Don't we get to have dessert?" To which she replied, "You can if you know what you want or decide really quickly because we have that party of 25 coming." Look, we were not a huge party, but we had seven people and it was a BIRTHDAY celebration. We should be allowed to have enough time to have appetizers, entrees, AND dessert. We should also have time for presents and time to enjoy conversation without repeated reminders of another party who needs the table we are using. The rushed feeling, the spilled drinks, and the repeated reminders of this other party who was coming (because obviously they were more important and we had to get out of the restaurant quickly so they could have our table) ruined the mood and the celebration and left a really bad taste in my mouth. Especially when one of our party mentioned it to the manager and all he said was "I'm sorry, I hope you'll come again." Ha! Not likely. Not after being treated like that. I'm not going to give them an opportunity for a repeat performance of such crappy treatment.

Found this place and ordered miso soup, salad, sashimi, and two rolls. Everything tasted fine, the service was fine, and I left. Not even halfway to the hotel, which was 20 minutes away, my head started pounding and my stomach was turning. I thought I was catching a cold, maybe being under dressed for the weather (even though had layered up). I barely made it to the parking lot and basically vomited my dinner. I then spent the next hour in the bathroom, after which I felt relieved, so in a way I was glad that I wasn't getting sick. I figured it had to be the food and after I felt better I decided to call Mint to at least let them know that maybe something was in the food so at least they might prevent this for someone else. The manager apologized for my experience and that was it. I think it was either something in the food or had remembered earlier at the dinner all the employees were in the kitchen and I guess one of the sushi chef's just adopted a dog. Everyone was saying how cute it was and petting it, which I thought nothing of at the time other than it being cute. Then because of my experience, I don't really recall that chef, who was the one serving me, ever really leaving my sight or washing his hands. Just speculation of course but hey I got food poisoning from something. And anyone that knows me, knows that I always wash my hands before a meal, especially if I've been in the field working that day. I thought of posting here, but whatever it was over with and I'm busy. The next day, I got a voicemail letting me know that they felt bad for my experience and would compliment the dinner. I thought that was a nice gesture so I returned the message and left a voicemail of my own. No response, and I tried two more times over the next week. So here we are two weeks after and I'm thinking of sharing the story or not. Maybe they thought I was grifting for a free dinner and changed their mind, so that's why they didn't call me back? Maybe no one else got sick and there was no way to prove my story other than my word. Maybe they thought because I saw the dog, I would use that as an opportunity to eat for free? I never asked for my meal to get comped, I just wanted the establishment to know so they could prevent it from happening to someone else. Again, wasn't planning on sharing this on Yelp, but this happened two weeks ago and I feel that if I didn't share my experience it would be like a tree falling in a forest, does it even make a sound or did it really happen? Yes this actually happened to me so I'm letting management know that I'm not some anonymous guy that was trying to victimize myself for a free meal.

The miso soups were delicious and priced well. The jalapeño hamachi is an award winning dish and I can see why. It was SO good. My husband actually saved the vinaigrette to try with other dishes. We also enjoyed the beef tataki, I did feel like it was a little on the chewy side but overall good. We loved the moonlight roll, the flavors and sweetness were good, I did feel like it was missing heat from the spicy tuna. The apollo roll was good, this roll also had spicy tuna and it was definitely hotter. Mint met our expectations and will definitely be a contender for our next sushi date night.

Found Urban Hill on social media and was excited to get a dinner reservation last minute. My…read morepartner and I were visiting from out of town for our anniversary. They asked if we were celebrating anything when making the reservation and we noted the event, not thinking anything of it. Little did we know it was going to be a complete experience! Curated menus saying happy anniversary, dessert and even a Polaroid picture for us to take home. Truly a one of a kind night. The food was incredible also! We started with the potato gnocchi & sticky rolls which were amazing to share and had fantastic flavor. I got the sea bass as an entree and my partner got the chicken - both fantastic choices! The dessert though was incredible. The baked Alaska was another great highlight - they lit the dessert on fire, which was a fun addition. To our surprise we got a celebratory dessert as well which was so yummy. Overall, truly an amazing meal and experience! So grateful to Urban Hill for making our anniversary one we won't forget.

Food was just okay for the price. Service was very slow and we were really quite neglected compared to other tables. Brunch for 4 took over two hours and it was over 30 minutes before someone showed up to take our orders. This is really more of a 2.5 star rating but you know how Yelp is. The food was decent, just not outstanding by any means and the place is beautiful and reasonably comfortable. I feel like this places focuses too hard on pretentious "fine dining" details while completely neglecting the basics. Prompt service and food that tastes good. I will give the disclaimer that this review is now over a year old at the time of posting. I hope that things have improved in that time.
